Attleboro, 0 @ Mansfield, 0 – FinalTwo days after suffering a 4-0 loss, Attleboro battled to a scoreless draw with the Hornets to earn a point. Mansfield goalie Jack Lansbury-Casey had a strong outing in net with eight saves.

Canton, 1 @ North Attleboro, 0 – FinalCanton scored two minutes into the third quarter and that was enough for the Bulldogs in a win on the road. Sophomore Jake McCabe converted a feed from junior Jacob Crugnale for the lone tally of the match. David Floyd had a solid outing in net for the Rocketeers with eight saves.

Stoughton, 1 @ Foxboro, 2 – FinalClick here for a photo gallery of this gameFoxboro sandwiched a pair of third quarter goals around a tally from Stoughton to earn two points and a season sweep of the Black Knights. After a scoreless first half, Foxboro’s Max Beigel opened the scoring in the 44th minute, tucking his show low to the left into the back corner for a 1-0 advantage. Rhuan Carvalho helped bring the Black Knights level, sending a perfectly paced through ball to Joao Marotti, who was fouled in the box for a pen. Carvalho blasted a left-footed shot that Foxboro keeper Nick Penders got his fingertips to but the ball kissed off the post and in to bring Stoughton level at 1-1. The deadlock lasted less than 10 minutes as Matt Angelini raced onto a loose ball behind the defense and hit a left-footed shot on the run just inside of the far post. Stoughton keeper Nolan Gerome had a strong outing with eight saves.

Taunton, 1 @ Franklin, 2 – FinalFranklin scored a pair of first quarter goals a minute apart and held on the rest of the way to earn two points at home over visiting Taunton. Ben Moccia opened the scoring for the Panthers, finishing off a feed from Charlie Amante for a 1-0 advantage. Just a minute later, Ryan Witt set up Ethan Cain, who scored for the third straight game, for a 2-0 lead. Taunton sophomore Riley Rebello cut the deficit in half with an unassisted goal in the second quarter.

Milford, 2 @ King Philip, 2 – FinalKing Philip battled back from a 2-0 deficit, scoring right before the halftime whistle and then just seconds before the final whistle to grab a point over visiting Milford. Junior Avi Seri put the Hawks ahead in the eighth minute on an assist from Leo Coelho, who scored in the 31st minute on an assist from Arthur Tome to make it 2-0. King Philip cut the lead in half with less than a minute to go in the first half when junior Stephen Griffin converted a free kick. And then with just 12 seconds left, Conor O’Neill buried a service from Evan McCoy to bring the Warriors level at the death.

Sharon, 0 @ Oliver Ames, 8 – FinalOliver Ames exploded for six second half goals to earn a big win at home over visiting Sharon. The Tigers built a 2-0 lead at halftime on goals from Mathias Taylor (from Ben Cohen) and Anthony DaCosta (from Colin Milliken). Senior Brady deVos added a second half brace for the Tigers while Milliken, Kevin Louhis, Dillon Cupples, and Jared Goldman also scored. Senior Ryan Ventura and freshman Joey Carney added assists.










Girls Soccer
Mansfield, 2 @ Attleboro, 0 – FinalCathryn Cooney scored twice in the second quarter to lift Mansfield to a win on the road. Olivia Salisbury and Kelsey Hubler combined to keep a clean sheet for the Hornets.

Foxboro, 9 @ Stoughton, 0 – FinalAlyssa Vandenboom scored three times and Jordyn Collins and Erin Foley each scored twice, as Foxboro’s offense clicked into gear with a big road win. Kailee McCabe recorded five points on the day, finishing with one goal and four assists, and Katelyn Mollica added three, scoring one and assisting on two. Meghan Burke, Jordan Carman, and Collins all had one assist in the win. Stoughton coach Hermes Lima credited the leadership of seniors Mackenzie Manning, Nikki Anderson, and Rebecca DeSousa for keeping the Black Knights going. He said the team had several good attacks for forward Shayla Ford but just couldn’t find the finish.

Taunton, 0 @ Franklin, 5 – FinalClare Bowen’s hat trick keeps the Panthers rolling along, having won all six of their games so far this season and extending their lead to six points in division standings (second-place KP plays on Thursday). Jamie Tanner and Riley Fitzpatrick also scored for Franklin. Izzy Arnold had a pair of assists, while Norah Anderson, Erin Quaile, and Tanner each had one helper apiece.

Oliver Ames, 4 @ Sharon, 1 – FinalSharon’s goal came on a first half penalty kick by Sofia Goclowski that put the Eagles ahead 1-0 but the Tigers scored four straight to get the win on the road. Katie Gibson (assist), Camryn O’Connor (two assists), Emma Pereira, and Carly Gibson scored for OA. Lucinda Cotter notched an assist for the Tigers.

Golf
Canton, 147 @ North Attleboro, 156 – FinalAnother day, another new golfer steps up to lead the Bulldogs as Conor Hunter fired a match-medalist even par round of 35 as Canton notched a win on the road at Heather Hill Country Club over North Attleboro. Will Gefteas and Owen Donovan each chipped in with a 37 while Aiden French carded a 38 for Canton. Sophomore Jake Gaskin led the Rocketeers with a team-low round of 37, Sam Gallagher added a 38, Jordan Paradis shot a 40, and Tyler DeMattio finished with a 41.

Taunton, 194 @ Franklin, 149 – FinalFranklin earned its eighth straight win to start the season behind an impressive two-under par round of 33 from senior Jack Paterson. Sean Connelly added a 38 in the win while both Nolan Norton and Pat Dolan carded rounds of 39. Spencer Andrews was Taunton’s top performer, coming in with a team-low round of 44.

King Philip, 158 @ Milford, 173 – Final – King Philip went on the road and earned a win over Milford at the Hopedale Country Club. Jared Curran was the match medalist, shooting a team-low round of 36 to pace the Warriors. Mike Matheson added a 37 and Gavin Croke chipped in with a 42 for KP.

Sharon, 1 @ Foxboro, 7 – FinalKailee McCabe had a hat trick and Katelyn Mollica added a brace, as the Warriors got their second win of the week. Wendy Wooden got the first goal of the season for the Eagles, on an assist by Olivia Soby, to put the visitors in front, but Mollica equalized with a long-range shot. McCabe scored the next two, both assisted by Jordyn Collins, who started the second half with her third goal of the season (assisted by Alyssa Vandenboom). McCabe added an unassisted goal and Mollica scored on a free kick before Caroline Rongione wrapped up the scoring off an assist by Olivia Nicholson.

Milford, 0 @ Franklin, 5 – FinalThe Panthers made it two wins from two to start the season as five different players found the back of the net. Riley Fitzpatrick, Anya Zub (first career goal), Erin Quaile, Stella Regan, and Rachel Hogan each tallied once in the win, while Zub, Clare Bowen, Izzy Arnold, and Jamie Tanner (two) had assists. Julia Bertone and Rachel Welch each made one save in goal for Franklin.

Mansfield, 1 @ King Philip, 2 – FinalKing Philip rallied from a goal down to pull out a win in the season opener for both teams. All three goals were scored in the final seven minutes of the first half. Sarah Sacco gave the Hornets the lead with a shot from 10 yards out, but five minutes later KP equalized when Ella Pisani found the range from 12 yards, assisted by Ava Tormey. Just a minute later Jenny Montville took a pass from Pisani and hit a 25-yard shot off the crossbar and in for wat turned out to be the game-winner. Charlotte Majer, Kylie Menendez, and Paulina Baczkowski all played well for the Warriors to secure the two points.

Sharon, 1 @ Foxboro, 3 – FinalThe teams took turns on the score sheet with the visitors tying it up 1-1 in the third quarter but Foxboro scored the final two goals to earn the win. Max Beigel put the hosts ahead before Sharon found an equalizer in the third. Adam Connolly restored the lead for the Warriors and Matt Angelini added an insurance goal for Foxboro.

Milford, 4 @ Franklin, 0 – FinalMilford opened the season in style as reigning HockomockSports.com Player of the Year Leo Coelho scored a pair of goals in a road win over Franklin. Coelho opened the scoring on an assist from Lucas Da Silva. Eduardo Castro doubled the lead, finishing off a service from Christian Dinis. Da Silva added two more assists, setting up sophomore Hulanger Pires to make it 3-0 and once again linking up Coelho for the final goal.

Foxboro, 4 @ Sharon, 0 – FinalClick here for a photo gallery of this game.Jordyn Collins accounted for three points and Foxboro started its league title defense with a shutout on the road. Collins scored a pair of goals within a three-minute span in the second quarter to put the Warriors in front to stay. Kailee McCabe and Erin Foley also scored for Foxboro, while Aislinn Servaes and Alyssa Vandenboom added assists.

Franklin, 4 @ Milford, 0 – FinalSydney St. Marie scored a pair of goals, as Franklin opened the season with a big win over neighboring Milford. Norah Anderson and Jamie Tanner also scored for the Panthers. Head coach Tom Geysen praised his team’s ability to sustain the attack saying, “We were able to keep pressure on Milford most of the afternoon and held a wide advantage of shots on goal. We were able to produce many scoring opportunities and create what we have been working on in practice throughout the game.” Bridgette Ginley, Anya Zub, Lizzy Durkey, and Izzy Arnold all had assists for Franklin. Milford goalie Carly Ferreira made 22 saves in the loss. Hawks coach Lou Colabello said, “They were very well skilled and adjusted very well to the new rules. We obviously did not.” He also noted that there is a lot of potential for growth from his young roster.

Junior captain Brendan Raymond led the way for the Bombardiers with a team-low round of 36. Sophomore Leo Lombardo added a round of 40 while juniors Parker Sackett and Evan Houle both shot a 41.

Milford, 188 @ Franklin, 157 – FinalFranklin senior captain Jack Paterson earned match medalist honors as the Panthers defended home course against visiting Milford. Paterson added a one-under round of 34 to pace the Panthers while Pat Dolan added a 40 and Nolan Norton carded a 41. Dave Pacella and Anthony LaPierre led the way for Milford with a pair of 46s.

Foxboro, 2 @ Walpole, 0 – FinalFoxboro scored once in each half to earn a win on the road at Walpole. Kendra Wentling put the visitors up 1-0 with a goal in the 34th minute on an assist from Alyssa Vandenboom. Jordyn Collins secured the win with a goal in the 75th minute, finishing off a cross from Katelyn Mollica.

Attleboro, 3 @ Taunton, 0 – FinalThe Bombardiers scored twice in the first half to take control and keep their hopes of making the playoffs alive with four games remaining. Meghan Panzer opened the scoring after just five minutes, finishing off an Emily Dunlea assist. Briley Harnois added a second before the break, assisted by Ashley Dame. Attleboro sealed the win late on with a goal by Ashley Macia, assisted by Cassondra Stuger.

Attleboro, 2 @ King Philip, 2 – FinalAttleboro held a 1-0 lead at halftime but needed a late goal to earn a tie on the road at King Philip. Anna Beck put the visitors up in the first half but King Philip freshman Lauren Barriero (from Christina Gifun) and junior Abby Nixon each scored in the second half to put KP ahead. Beck scored her second of the game to make it 2-2. Grace May made seven saves in net for KP.

Taunton, 2 @ Franklin, 4 – FinalTaunton took a 2-1 just before the midway point of the first half but Franklin answered with two goals before the break, and added an insurance tally in the second half. Alana Tavares put Taunton up 1-0 before Stephanie Bell pulled the Panthers level 27 seconds later. Sophomore Ashley Amarao put the Tigers back in front in the 13th minute but Franklin answered with two goals to take the lead. Kaitlyn Carney tied it on an assist from Amanda Lewandowski, and Bell grabbed her second with Hanna Richardson getting the assist. Molly Collins (from Maeve Ledwith) added an insurance goal in the second half.

OA rallied from a goal down to secure a critical road win that moves the Tigers within two points of qualifying for the state tournament. Gabby Devlin gave the Hornets the lead with a goal just five minutes into the game, finishing off a scramble after a quick break. OA tied the game off a corner midway through the first half. Ellie Waters fired a shot from the top of the circle that was redirected into the goal by Sofia Anestam. Both teams had a number of chances to grab the lead, only to be denied by goalies Kayla Hunter (Mansfield) and Kara Ostrander (OA). The Tigers took the lead in the second half when another Waters blast off a corner was controlled on the post and finished by Cassie Gennis.

Attleboro, 0 @ King Philip, 3 – Final King Philip took care of business with a 3-0 (25-6, 25-9, 25-18) sweep at home over Attleboro. Senior Alison Hitchen had nine service points, including five aces, and four digs, classmate Kristen Masse added four aces and three kills, and Kiley Sullivan chipped in with three aces. Catherine Waldeck finished with four kills, three aces, and two blocks, and Nicole Coughlan added nine kills and five aces in the win.

Canton, 3 @ Sharon, 0 – FinalCanton’s Nikki Desjardins played great defense and the Bulldogs’ received a handful of strong performances at the net to pick up a 3-0 (25-16, 25-18, 25-17) win over Sharon. Taylor Harris led the way with 11 kills and three aces while Liz Bickett, Claire Quinn, Angie Elias, and Kiara Cerruti played well at the net combining for 18 kills.

Foxboro, 3 @ Stoughton, 0 – FinalFoxboro earned a win on the road to punch its ticket to the postseason for the first time since 2012. Grace Boudreau led the way offensively with 14 kills and two blocks to help the Warriors earn a 3-0 (25-18, 25-12, 25-12) win on the road. Maddie O’Brien dished out 18 assists while Kelsey Treweek (eight digs) and Pam Nelson (nine digs, three kills) anchored the defense. Grace Fortune (14 service points, four aces) and Shakirah Ketant (nine service points, three aces) both had strong games serving.

Canton, 0 @ Franklin, 3 – FinalFranklin opened the scoring less than 10 minutes into the contest and added two goals in a 10-minute span in the second half to knock off visiting Canton. Lucas Moura put the Panthers ahead on an assist from Ben Moccia in the 7th minute. Trevor O’Neill doubled the lead for the hosts in the 54th minute on an assist from Jacob Cummings. Junior Ethan Cain capped the scoring five minutes later with a goal in the 59th minute.

Foxboro, 0 @ Taunton, 0 – Final

Milford, 2 @ King Philip, 1 – FinalMilford scored once in each half to earn two points on the road at King Philip. Lucas Da Silva played Leo Coelho in behind the defense, and Coelho used a curling left foot shot from atop the 18-yard box, knocking his shot off the far post and in. KP tied the game in the 51st minute as Colin Wesley connected with Caleb Casseta-Waxman. Casseta-Waxman’s deflected service fell in behind the defense and junior Tadhg Keller nodded the loose ball over the keeper to tie the game. The Hawks found the winner in the 70th minute when Pedro Araujo tracked down a ball from Jordan Borges. Araujo cut inside onto his left foot and sent a dipping shot off the far post and in for the game-winner.

Drew Nickla made four saves to record his third shutout of the season. Matt Nikiciuk had a strong game in the midfield for OA while Matt Nosalek, Jon Freeman, Harry Ahearn, and Brady deVos anchored the defense.

Attleboro, 7 @ Stoughton, 3 – FinalBriley Harnois scored three goals and added an assist and Isabella Salviati had a goal and two assists, as the Bombardiers scored five goals in the second half to pull out the win. Harnois opened the scoring in the third minute, but the Black Knights responded with three straight goals to grab the lead. Katherine Dennehy brought Attleboro back within one before the break. The Bombardiers grabbed the lead for good with three goals in the first 10 minutes of the second half. Harnois scored from Salviati and then the combo switched places to make it 4-3 before Harnois completed her hat trick in the 49th minute. Ashley Macia and Cassondra Stuger each scored to put the game away for the visitors. Attleboro coach Steve Santos said, “Totally different second half. We settled the ball down, had some good combinations and made some great runs.” Stoughton’s Shayla Ford, Mackenzie Manning, and Ashley Camilo each scored once for Stoughton.

Olivia Nicholson, Caroline Rongione, Reagan Buckley, and Katelyn Mollica all scored once for Foxboro while Alyssa VandenBoom had an assist.

King Philip, 5 @ Milford, 1 – FinalThe Warriors and Hawks traded early goals but King Philip scored four unanswered to get the win. Avery Snead (on a cross from Chloe Layne) put KP up under two minutes in before Milford’s Ashleigh Starks scored off a corner kick from Maddie Boyle to make it 1-1. Jenny Montville scored twice in a four-minute span, one set up by Layne and the other by Snead, to give KP a 3-1 lead at halftime. Layne scored her first of the contest on a through ball from Ally Stanton, and Stanton scored in the final 10 minutes off a corner from Makayla Griffin. KP’s defensive core of Olivia Berry, Paige Varvarigos, Taryn Greenberg, Grace Lawler, and Griffin had a strong showing.

Erin Holmberg scored from Camryn O’Connor to put OA ahead inside the opening 10 minutes and then Lauren Sellmayer scored twice off of Holmberg corners to put the Tigers well ahead before halftime. North starting goalie Regan Fein made a pair of diving saves to keep North within three goals. O’Connor scored OA’s fourth goal on a rebound after North back-up keeper Caitlin Echeverri made a stop on Holmberg. The Rocketeers got on the board with a nice move in the closing minutes. Alex Moulson found space on the right and her low cross was side-footed in by Olivia Wills. Summer Doherty and Lydia Hershey played well in the back for North while Lily Adams and Caroline Ferrin had strong showings in the midfield.

Field Hockey
Foxboro, 2 @ Stoughton, 0 – FinalStoughton goalie Kayla Laboy made an incredible 30 saves but Foxboro was able to earn the win on the road. Jenny Gallagher scored her first goal and Jaime Notarangelo added another for the Warriors.

Volleyball
North Attleboro, 0 @ King Philip, 3 – FinalKing Philip earned a 3-0 (25-12, 25-20, 25-20) sweep of North Attleboro in a non-league contest. The Warriors had a strong day at the service line as Emma Brooks (nine digs) notches seven aces, Lily Carlow (six digs, two kills) added six aces, and Ali McNamara had four aces. Nicole Coughlan slammed down a team-high 11 kills while Catherine Waldeck added 10 kills.

Oliver Ames, 3 @ Bridgewater-Raynham, 0 – FinalOliver Ames took care of business at home with a 3-0 (25-8, 25-19, 25-16) sweep of visiting Bridgewater-Raynham. Junior Jordan Bennett had a strong all-around game with five kills and two blocks. Allie Kemp finished with 35 assists and eight aces, and Jordan Bossed added 15 kills and four aces.

Taunton, 3 vs. Durfee, 0 – FinalTaunton’s defense had a strong day to help the Tigers break into the win column with a 3-0 (25-17, 25-19, 25-21) win over visiting Durfee. Fabiana Pereira had 16 digs, Kailara Andrade added 10 digs, and Shea Pimental finished with eight digs in the win. Hailey Sullivan, Mikayla Cleary, Alyssa Turcotte, and Ella Dunderdale each had seven kills to pace the offense.

Attleboro, 177 @ King Philip, 153 – Final

North Attleboro, 180 @ Franklin, 154 – FinalFranklin junior Jack Paterson concluded the week with his fourth medalist round, this time shooting a team-low 36 to capture co-medalist honors. Quinten Faro also fired a 36 for the Panthers, who got a 39 out of Pat Dolan and a 43 from Brian Sandham. Jillian Barend shot a team-low 43 for the Rocketeers while Jake Gaskin carded a round of 44.
