Taunton, 5 @ New Bedford, 0 – FinalTaunton scored two runs in the top of the fourth and then put the game away with three more runs in the top seventh to beat New Bedford. The Tigers had nine hits as a team with Andrew Gomes (two RBI) and Tyler Medeiros (RBI) each recording two. Josh Lajoie pitched six scoreless innings with eight strikeouts to earn the win.

Mansfield, 16 @ Bridgewater-Raynham, 1 – FinalMansfield’s offense used 12 hits, four walks and took advantage of four Trojan errors to pick up a big win on the road. Mansfield broke open a scoreless gae with four runs in the fourth and added seven more in the fifth. Although the Hornets had 12 hits, only one player – Tyler Dalton (three RBI, two runs) – had more than one hit. Ten other Hornets each had one hit with Chris Jenkins and Kyle Moran providing two RBI and a run scored each. Connor Sheehan earned the win, striking out seven with just two walks and three hits allowed in five shutout innings of work.

Softball
North Attleboro, 5 @ Attleboro, 1 – FinalBella Erti struck out 13 and walked just one, while going 2-for-3 at the plate with a homer and two RBI, leading North to the Blue-Red Cup title. Abby Gallagher also went 2-for-2 and drove in three runs, while Olivia Capobianco had two hits and scored two runs and Emily Nardelli, Ashley Cangiano and Katherine Munley each had a hit.

Franklin, 0 @ Bridgewater-Raynham, 3 – FinalFranklin had the same amount of hits as Bridgewater-Raynham but couldn’t string them together to find a run. Both teams had five hits but the Trojans cashed in on a couple of unearned runs. Jackie Cherry had two hits for the Panthers while Maggie Hobby had one and made two nice catches in foul territory behind the plate. Emily Valentino allowed five hits while striking out four.

Mansfield, 8 @ Duxbury, 4 – FinalThe Hornets opened the game with three runs in the first, added three in the fifth and scored a pair of insurance runs in the seventh to pick up the road win. Mady Bendanillo drove in the first run with a double and scored on a double by Felicity McMullin, who scored on a single by Caty DeMassi. In the fifth, Kara Bendanillo again got it started with a single and Megan beat out a bunt to put two on. Mady Bendanillo doubled again, driving in two more runs and then she scored on a sac fly. In the seventh, Letendre and Mady Bendanillo singled and moved up into scoring position on good base-running. McMullin plated one run with a slow roller on the infield and Bendanillo scored on a wild pitch.

Taunton, 14 @ Oliver Ames, 5 – FinalTaunton’s Kelsey White had three hits and knocked in four runs while sister Alexa tossed a complete game with six strikeouts and no walks as the Tigers beat OA. Alexa White scattered five hits while allowing just one earned run to improve to 3-0. Jaylin Couto (home run, four RBI, three runs) and Jaime Brown (RBI) each had two hits for Taunton while Kya Enos (two RBI) and McKenzie McAloon (three runs, two stolen bases) had one hit apiece. For OA, Caroline Mahoney was 2-for-4 with a single, a solo home run and two runs scored, Katie Mills was 1-for-3 with two RBI, and freshman Grace Simone had a single and a run scored.

Boys Lacrosse
Franklin, 12 @ Canton, 5 – Final – Franklin built a 7-1 lead after 24 minutes of play and never looked back to finish its regular season with a win on the road over Canton. Eric Civetti netted seven goals and had three assists while Jake Davis scored a hat trick and had two helpers for the Panthers.

Sharon, 12 vs. Cambridge, 0 – FinalEight different players found the back of the net for Sharon and Jonny Greenberg recorded a shutout in the Eagles’ win over CambridMitchellchll Director scored a team-high three goals while Kadin Nestler had two goals and two assists. Daniel Lilenfeld added a goal and two assists for Sharon.

Canton, 1 @ Franklin, 20 – FinalKatie Jones led Franklin’s offense with four goals and two assists as the Panthers picked up a win at home. Lilly Kolb added two goals and an assist while Haley DeStefano found the back of the net twice for the Panthers.

North Attleboro, 12 vs. Old Rochester, 16 – FinalNorth Attleboro was tied 7-7 at the half but Old Rochester broke the game open with a strong second half. Kayla Moulin made 11 saves in the game, including the 300th of her career. Camille Pizarro scored five goals, Julia Dakin had three and Mackenzie Rosenberg had a pair for North.

Sharon, 18 vs. Cardinal Spellman, 2 – FinalLydia Chase led the Eagles with five goals and an assist, while Emma Eberhardt played provider with six assists. Sabrina Robbins had a hat trick, while Mia Lappen, Abbi Solomon (two assists), and Jenna Goldstein all scored two goals apiece. Maeve Barbera added one goal.

Stoughton, 1 @ Foxboro, 4 – Final

King Philip, 4 vs. Bishop Feehan, 1 – FinalKing Philip dominated doubles play, losing a combined five games and winning both matches in straight sets to defeat Feehan. Sean Desroches and Nate Ihley won 6-0, 6-1 at first doubles and the team of Nick Ihley and Aidan Ignatius notched a 6-1, 6-3 win at second doubles. Nick Putney prevailed with a 7-6, 3-6, 6-4 win at second singles and Jack Cannon lost just one game (6-0, 6-1) in a victory at third singles.

Sharon, 2 @ North Attleboro, 3 – FinalNorth Attleboro’s Ben Pfeffer and Vikram Senthilakumaran emerged from an epic three-set match at first doubles with a win to clinch a victory for the Rocketeers as well as a perfect league record. Pfeffer and Senthilakumaran won 6-7 (3), 7-6 (4), 7-6 (3) to clinch the Davenport title for Big Red. With North’s win, Sharon’s run of 38 straight years with a league title comes to an end. Richard Bermudez won 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (1) at first singles and Christian Bermudez picked up a 6-1, 6-0 win at second singles. Sharon sophomore Danujan Thirumavalavan won 6-2, 6-0 at third singles and the team of Ashwin Sreevatsa and Arie Chinnappan picked up a 6-1, 6-3 win at second doubles for the Eagles.

Taunton, 5 @ New Bedford, 0 – FinalTaunton picked up its 14th win of the season with a sweep of New Bedford. The Tigers didn’t drop a single game in singles play as Francois Hennaux (first singles), Brett Beaulieu (second), and Charlie Fiske (third) each won 6-0, 6-0. Dylan Kullas and Mike Briggs won 6-0, 6-2 at first doubles and Kyle Dennehy and Trevor Hart paired up for a 6-0, 6-2 win at second doubles.

Girls Tennis
Foxboro, 1 @ Martha’s Vineyard, 4 – FinalFoxboro’s Sophia Prinos picked up a win at first singles but the Warriors fell to Martha’s Vineyard. Prinos earned a 7-6 (6), 6-4 win for the Warriors’ lone point.

North Attleboro, 0 @ Sharon, 5 – FinalSharon defended home court with a sweep of North Attleboro, winning all five matches in straight sets. Nupur Shukla won 6-0, 6-3 at first singles, Lulu Yuan earned a 6-1, 6-1 win at second singles and Katie Merport recorded a 6-0, 6-3 win at third singles. The Eagles’ first doubles team of Emily Wen and Sachi Bhasin won 6-1, 6-0 while Rithika Neti and Sophia Fein picked up a 6-3, 6-1 win at second doubles.

Taunton, 3 @ Durfee, 0 – FinalTaunton went on the road and swept the Hilltoppers (25-18, 25-17, 25-16) to improve to 16-0 on the season. Ricardo DaFonseca set the offense in motion with 40 assists while Lens Esquil and Lance Law had 13 kills apiece. Collin Hunter and Malik Charle chipped in with six kills each.

Bishop Feehan, 4 @ Attleboro, 8 – FinalAttleboro plated three runs in the third inning and added four more in the fifth inning in a win over visiting Bishop Feehan. Eoin Kelleher tossed a complete game, scattering five hits to earn the win. Tim Callahan paced the offense, going 3-for-3 with two runs, two stolen bases, and an RBI. Jon Candiales, Dakota Kirby, and Mason Houle all had two hits for Attleboro.

Canton, 3 @ Mansfield, 14 – FinalCanton scored three runs in the top of the fifth inning to make it a three-run game but Mansfield exploded for eight runs in the bottom half to create a big lead. Mansfield scored two runs in the first, three in the second, and one in the fourth to build its lead. Tyler Dalton continued his strong week, going 3-for-4 with four RBI and two runs scored, Kevin Dow had two hits, three RBI, and two runs scored, and Dan Saraceno had two RBI and one run. Connor Sheehan struck out nine with four hits and four walks allowed in four innings of work for the Hornets. Canton’s Jake Aronson went 2-for-4, including a three-run home run in the fifth inning.

Franklin, 5 vs. Catholic Memorial, 1 – FinalFranklin senior Colby Fitzgibbons went a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate and classmate Bryan Woelfel tossed a complete game with just one run allowed to lead the Panthers to a win over CM. Woelfel scattered nine hits while walking just one, striking out eight. Fitzgibbons added an RBI and a run scored while Jake Macchi (two RBI, double), Steve Luttazi (double, run), and Jack Nally (double, run) all finished with two hits for the Panthers. Jake Noviello and Alex Haba each added a hit and a run scored.

Oliver Ames, 5 vs. Dighton-Rehoboth, 2 – FinalOliver Ames junior Sean O’Brien’s three-run double highlighted a five-run second inning for the Tigers. O’Brien (2-for-3, two doubles, run) cleared the bases to put the Tigers ahead while Mitch Goulet (2-for-3) and Chris Pearsons (double, walk, run) each had an RBI during the inning. Michael Mulrean (four strikeouts, one hit) and Matt Muir (two strikeouts, no hits) combined for four innings of relief.

Softball
Attleboro, 2 @ Bishop Feehan, 7 – Final

Mansfield, 9 @ Canton, 6 – FinalCanton scored four times in the fourth inning to take a 6-3 lead, but the Hornets scored a pair of runs in the fifth to cut the lead to one and then took the lead with four runs in the seventh. Ashlyn Conley had a bases loaded double with one out in the seventh to bring in the go-ahead and eventual game-winning runs for Mansfield. Caty DeMassi added an insurance run with a deep sac fly to left and Ella Verheggen singled in the ninth run of the game and fourth of the inning. The Hornets had 16 hits on Thursday, including three from Kara Bendanillo and two each for Megan Letendre, Felicity McMullin, DeMassi and Verheggen. Mary Muldoon, Kerran Holmes, Grace Benton, and Sydney Woods also had hits in the win.

Oliver Ames, 7 vs. Braintree, 9 – FinalOA’s Kayla Georgeu was 1-for-2 with a run scored, Katie Abreu went 2-for-3 with a run scored, Rachel Han had three RBI and a run scored, and Sarah Tetrault and Abbi Holmes (run) each had two hits for the Tigers.

Julia Dakin added four goals, Julia Tolfa had two and Maggie O’Brien scored once. Kayla Moulin made nine saves for the Rocketeers.

Mansfield, 5 @ Canton, 0 – FinalMansfield’s double teams combined to lose to just one game in the Hornets’ sweep of Canton. Jalaj Singh and Sethu won 6-1, 6-0 at first doubles while Danny Radev and Ben Salden took a 6-0, 6-0 decision at second doubles. Luke Nickerson didn’t lose a game in a 6-0, 6-0 win at first singles, Max Bank picked up a 6-4, 6-1 win at second singles, and Nilay Pangrekar won 6-4, 1-6, 10-8 at third singles.

Sharon, 5 vs. Bishop Feehan, 0 – FinalSharon bounced back from its first loss of the season with a convincing 5-0 sweep of visiting Bishop Feehan. Fred Bondar rallied for a 6-7 (3), 6-3, 10-3 win at first singles, Andre Olivei earned a 6-0, 6-0 decision at second singles, and Danujan won 6-0, 6-1 at third singles. Max Brody and Russell Rapaport teamed up for a 6-0, 6-1 win at first doubles while Arie Chinnappan and Ashwin Sreevatsa bounced back with a 6-3, 6-2 win at second doubles.

Charlie Fiske and Dylan Kullas won 6-0, 6-0 at first doubles and Kyle Dennehy and Trevor Hart earned a 6-0, 6-1 win at second doubles.

Canton, 4 @ Mansfield, 1 – FinalCanton won all three singles matches in straight sets and earned one more win in doubles play to get a win over Mansfield. Natalie Keppler (first singles) and Rachel Kupferman (second singles) each won 6-1, 6-1 while Sarah Hernandez won 6-1, 6-3 at third singles. Canton’s first doubles team rallied for a 4-6, 6-4, 10-7 win. Mansfield’s Samantha Sternburg and Aryana Khosravani won 6-2, 7-6 (5) at second doubles.

The team of Sophia Fein and Rithika Neti won 6-3, 6-2 and Makaila Cheung and Lauren Glass emerged with a 6-5, 6-3 win at second doubles.

Taunton, 5 @ Coyle & Cassidy, 0 – FinalTaunton swept the season series against city rival Coyle, taking all five matches in straight sets. Neither of the Tigers’ doubles teams lost a single game as McKenzie Lucie and Samantha Martin (first doubles) and the team of Amanda Pugh and Brianna Fevrier (second doubles) both won 6-0, 6-0. Jillian Pagliuca won 6-3, 6-1 at first singles. Vanessa Rosa earned a 6-2, 6-1 win at second singles, and Jocelyn Pagliuca won 6-0, 6-0 at third singles for the Tigers.

Taunton, 3 vs. Quincy, 0 – FinalTaunton defended its home court with a 3-0 (25-13, 25-15, 25-16) sweep against visiting Quincy. Jason Khang stepped up defensively with 11 digs while Ricardo DaFonseca paced the offense with 40 assists. Lance Law put down 18 kills and added a block, Lens Esquil added 11 kills and three blocks, and Collin Hunter played well at the net with six kills and a block.

Mansfield, 9 @ Attleboro 2 – FinalMansfield struck for five runs in the top of the third inning and never looked back on the road at Attleboro. Senior Tyler Dalton earned the win on the mound, striking out six in five innings of work with three hits and two runs allowed. Jake Gerraughty and Justin Pena each pitched a scoreless inning in relief. Kyle Moran (RBI), Dan Saraceno, and Kevin Dow (three RBI) each had two hits apiece to pace the Mansfield offense.

Canton, 7 @ Norwood, 9 – Final

Foxboro, 1 @ Stoughton, 2 – FinalStoughton edged Foxboro in a pitchers duel between Zak Paquette (S) and Steve McLaughlin (F). Paquette allowed just one run on five hits and one walk with five strikeouts in a complete game effort. McLaughlin allowed two runs in over five innings of work for the Warriors. George Currier (2-for-3) came up with the big hit for Stoughton, connecting on a two-strike, two-out, two-RBI single in the first inning.

Franklin, 1 @ Walpole, 0 – FinalFranklin senior Jake Noviello dazzled in a complete game effort, helping the Panthers pick up a 1-0 win. Noviello blanked the Rebels through seven innings, allowing just four hits and two walks while striking out six. Franklin’s lone run came off the bat of James Leofanti, scoring classmate Steve Luttazi (2-for-3) on a sacrifice fly. Jake Macchi and Jack Nally also had two hits for the Panthers.

North Attleboro, 8 @ Bishop Feehan, 1 – FinalNorth Attleboro turned a pitchers’ duel into an impressive with behind a big fifth inning. The Rocketeers pushed eight runs across in the fifth inning, all with two outs. Big Red loaded the bases (Nick Sinacola single, Zach DeMattio walk, Nate Pearce walk) to get things started. Nolan Buckley had a two-run single, Aidan Harding (4-for-4) knocked in a run with an infield single, Sinacola (4-for-5) got back up and plated two with a single and Jeff Gale capped the scoring with a two-run single. Sinacola got the win on the mound, throwing a complete game with 10 strikeouts and just two walks. He had a no-hitter through four innings of play.

Sharon, 1 vs. Archbishop Williams, 6 – Final

Taunton, 6 vs. Durfee, 5 – FinalTaunton scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to knot the score at five and scored the game-winning run an inning later to stay unbeaten so far this season. Christian Simoes (two RBI), Tyler Medeiros (two hits), and Jack Moynihan (two hits) all had RBIs in the fifth inning to tie the game. Trevor Pietrzyk (two hits) drove in the winning run with a sacrifice fly in the sixth. Medeiros earned the win on the mound, striking out five with six hits allowed in six innings. Josh Lajoie pitched a scoreless seventh inning to record the save.

Milford, 2 vs. Concord-Carlisle, 3 – Final

Softball
Foxboro, 2 @ Stoughton, 15 – Final (5 inn.)Foxboro opened the game with two runs in the top of the first inning but Stoughton answered with four runs in the bottom half to take the lead and never look back. The Black Knights added single runs in each the second, third, and fourth innings and then exploded for eight runs in the fifth to get the win. Gina Carafa (three doubles) and Nikki Cappola (two doubles) each finished with four hits and three RBI to pace the Stoughton offense. Lexi Baptista and Bri Ferrandiz each had two RBI as well. Hannah Davis had two hits for Foxboro, including the 100th of her career. Carafa got the win in the circle, striking out eight with three hits and two walks allowed in five innings of work.

Franklin, 1 @ Taunton, 14 – Final (5 inn.)The Tigers scored in four of the five innings of play in a big win over visiting Franklin. Jaime Brown (three runs), Liana Duarte (three RBI), Mackenzie Handrahan (two RBI) and Kelsey White (two runs) each recorded two hits for Taunton while Payton Ceglarski chipped in with a pinch-hit two-run home run and Rylie Murphy had a pinch-hit two-run single. Jaylin Couto struck out three with four hits allowed in four innings of work. Alexis White recorded three strikeouts in one inning of relief. Ally Shea went 2-for-3 for the Panthers. Kylie Bouzan knocked in courtesy runner Maggie Hobby in the fourth inning for Franklin’s run.

King Philip, 16 @ Bishop Feehan, 6 – FinalKing Philip’s offense roared to life, belting out 16 hits in a big win on the road at Bishop Feehan. Hailey McCasland and Jessica Bonner (three RBI) each had three hits for the Warriors while Marjorie Guerrier, Meghan Gorman (three RBI), Brooke Taute, and Sydney Phillips each had two hits. Bonner put the Warriors ahead, 8-6, with a hit in the top of the sixth inning. Faith Turnese allows just one hit in three innings of relief work to earn the win.

Milford, 11 vs. Hopkinton, 2 – FinalMilford’s offense continued to roll, putting up 11 runs against neighboring Hopkinton. Jess Tomaso had a big day at the plate with three hits, including a home run and a double, whiling knocking in four runs and scoring once. Kelley Reichert went 3-for-3 at the plate with two RBI and earned the win in the circle, striking out six without allowing an earned run in five innings of work. Kate Irwin (double, stolen base), Emily Piergustavo (RBI, run), Emily Hartman (double), and Shannon Cormier (double, two runs) each had two hits for the Hawks.

Mansfield 13, @ Needham, 0 – Final (5 inn.)Sarah Cahill struck out seven and allowed only one hit as the Hornets starter and Felicity McMullin struck out one in relief. Mansfield started well with a run in the first before breaking the game open by scoring five runs in each of the second and third innings and adding a pair in the fourth. Caty DeMassi went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBI and Kerran Holmes went 2-for-2 with an RBI. The Hornets also got hits from Kara Bendanillo, Megan Letendre, Mady Bendanillo, Grace Benton, and Mary Muldoon.

Boys Lacrosse
Stoughton, 1 @ Canton, 16 – FinalCanton jumped out to a quick start, building an 11-1 lead by halftime. The Bulldogs had nine different scorers including first-career goals from senior Brian Ghostlaw and sophomore Tommy Ghostlaw. Freshman Dylan Coyne had a shutout in net in the fourth quarter for Canton.

Milford, 16 @ Northbridge, 5 – FinalMilford freshman Jack LeBlanc was impressive at the face off X in his first varsity game, winning 8-of-13 attempts to help the Hawks pick up the win. Brendan White (five goals) and Andrew Gallagher (two goals, four assists) paced the offense while Ryan Hazard had a strong all-around game with four goals and five ground balls.

Oliver Ames, 20 @ Milton, 0 – FinalOliver Ames received strong defensive efforts from Shane Murphy, Matt Saba, and Mark Vasapollo to help goalie Nick Gillis record a shutout on the road against Milton. Owen Gallagher paced the offense with six goals while Eric LeBlanc added three tallies.

Girls Lacrosse
Canton, 11 @ Oliver Ames, 19 – Final – Emalyn Duvall, Chloe Kilkelly, Ella Hogan, Olivia Piazza and Sofia Masciarelli all tallied points for OA while Ariana Waldorf had a strong game in net. Maggie Connolly scored four goals for the Bulldogs and Vicki Revenge stepped in as the back-up goalie to make 11 saves in the loss.

Sharon, 8 @ Hopkinton, 13 – FinalSabrina Robbins scored four goals and grabbed five ground balls for Sharon and Emma Eberhardt added a hat trick of goals, four assists, and six draw controls. Jenna Goldstein scored Sharon’s other goal and Bridget McManus led the Eagles defense with an interception and three ground balls.

McLaughlin struck out four but Coyle struck for a run in the second and then another in the fifth. Coyle tacked on two more in the sixth inning. Joe Freitas and Joe Cavaleri each went 1-for-3 for Foxboro.

Mansfield, 2 @ Xaverian, 0 – FinalMansfield’s Kevin Dow and Kyle Moran combined for a two-hit shutout to lead the Hornets to a big win on the road at Xaverian. Dow allowed just two hits, walking three, and struck out six in five innings of work while Moran fanned three batters in two innings of relief. Offensively, the Hornets loaded the bases in the fourth and senior Mike Arnold drew a walk to score Mike Hargadon. Hargadon (2-for-4) then gave Mansfield breathing room, knocking in Dan Saraceno with a single in the top of the seventh.

Milford, 0 @ Franklin, 4 – FinalFranklin senior James Leofanti dazzled in his season debut on the mound, throwing a no-hitter to lead the Panthers to a win over visiting Milford. Leofanti struck out eight while allowing just two walks to earn the win. Senior Colby Fitzgibbons made a terrific diving play in the sixth inning at second to help preserve the no-hitter. Offensively, Franklin scored two runs in the bottom of the first and added two more in the fifth inning. Junior Alex Haba went 2-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored, Scott Elliott walked twice and scored once, and JB Flores went 1-for-2 with two RBI. Milford sophomore Colby Pires kept the Panthers without a hit for four innings. He finished with three hits allowed, three earned runs, two strikeouts, and eight walks.

Oliver Ames, 5 @ New Bedford,0 – FinalOliver Ames senior Chris Perron threw six scoreless innings with just one hit allowed as the Tigers picked up their first win of the season on the road at New Bedford. Perron allowed just one walk as well while striking out five to earn the win. Junior Matt McCormack went 2-for-4 with two runs scored while classmate Chris Pearsons was 2-for-3 with a run scored for OA.

Foxboro, 16 @ Westwood, 5 – FinalFoxboro senior Lexi Buckner drove in five runs as the Warriors’ offense continued its strong start to the season. Foxboro posted double-digit runs for the season straight game as Buckner and Hannah Davis (two RBI) each recorded two hits. Emma Rohan earned the win in the circle for Foxboro.

King Philip, 4 vs. Newton North, 8 – FinalKing Philip put together a rally in the seventh inning, scoring one run and loading the bases but fell just short against highly ranked Newton North. Marjorie Guerrier and Brooke Taute paced KP’s offense with two hits apiece.

Mansfield, 6 vs. Holliston, 3 – FinalSarah Cahill got the win, going the distance in the circle and scattering nine hits while striking out a pair of Panthers and walking none. The Hornets took the lead in the top of the first with three runs on four straight singles by Kara Bendanillo, Megan Letendre, Mady Bendanillo, and Felicity McMullin and never looked back. Mansfield had 10 hits total with both Bendanillo sisters and Letendre each recording a pair of hits. The Hornets also played solid defense with Kerran Holmes throwing a runner out at the plate after a fly ball and Kara Bendanillo turning an unassisted double play after a grounder to short.

Milford, 8 @ Grafton, 1 – FinalMilford allowed a run in the first inning of the game but took the lead for good with a five-run fifth inning to move to 3-0 on the season. Grafton, the defending D2 State Champions, scored after using a double and three Milford errors. Kelley Reichert (6 IP, 4 H, 0 ER, 7 K) buckled down and struck out the side to escape further damage. Reichert (RBI), Emily Piergustavo (double, run, RBI), Shannon Cormier (two doubles, two runs, RBI, stolen base), and Maddy Bonvino (home run, two RBI) each went 2-for-4 on the day for Milford.

Oliver Ames, 1 vs. Walpole, 13 – FinalKatie Abreu had two hits on the day, including a double, while Katie Millis and Caroline Mahoney (RBI double) each had one hit but the Tigers fell to visiting Walpole.

Offensively, Payton Ceglarski was 4-for-4 with two RBI and Kya Enos had three hits, including a home run, and seven RBI to pace the Tigers. Mackenzie Handrahan, Liana Duarte (RBI), Hannah Aldrich (two stolen bases) and Kelsey White (RBI, stolen base) all had two hits for Taunton while Paige Silvia launched a two-run home run.

Oliver Ames, 12 vs. Pembroke, 11 – Final (OT)Oliver Ames overcame a five-goal deficit in the fourth quarter to tie the game and send it to overtime. Owen Gallagher (four goals and two assists) scored the game-winner in the extra period to lift the Tigers to a win. Eric LeBlanc, who recorded his 100th career point, added four goals and one assist and Shane Kilkelly and Sam Stevens each added two goals and one assist. OA head coach Ben Devlin noted that Shane Murphy had a very strong game defensively for the Tigers.

Ricardo DaFonseca set the offense in motion with 45 assists, three kills, and an ance.

Attleboro senior Drew Pagano earned the win in relief, tossing 2.1 scoreless innings. James Weir went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two RBI, Troy Gamache had two hits and an RBI and Sam Larkin chipped in with two hits. Sophomore Alvaro Espinel drew five walks, stole three bases and scored three runs while senior Corey McKenna had a two-run double and three stolen bases.

Foxboro, 3 @ Franklin, 0 – FinalFoxboro senior Steve McLaughlin tossed a complete game shutout, scatting three hits while striking out three to lead the Warriors to a win over Franklin. Chad Bearce (single) and JT Burke (double) each recorded an RBI as Foxboro scored single runs in each the first, second, and fourth innings. Anthony Mollica and Joe Cavaleri each had a hit for Foxboro. Franklin’s Jake Noviello struck out 11 batters in five innings of work with just two walks and no earned runs allowed.

Sophomore Robbie Jarest went 3-for-3 with an RBI while Jeremy Rhines had two hits, including a double, and an RBI. Rhines earned the win on the mound with five innings of work, striking out four batters without allowing an earned run. KP head coach Greg Kessler said Collin Cooke and Nolan Bradley had strong games defensively.

Mansfield, 9 @ Stoughton, 1 – FinalMansfield broke open a 1-1 game with two runs in the fifth and then added four more in the sixth, and two more in the seventh inning to turn a close game into a big win in both teams’ season opener. Hornets senior Tyler Dalton scattered four hits over four innings of work while striking out four to earn the win. Kevin Dow pitched three scoreless innings of relief. Offensively, Sam Nugent (RBI, run), Mike Hargadon (two RBI, run), Cullin Anastasia (RBI), Eric Longley (run), and Dow (two RBI, run) each had two hits for the Hornets. For Stoughton, Ruben Gonzalez, Mike Nazzaro and Will Eckhart each had a pair of hits. Eckhart allowed three earned runs in five innings of work while striking out four.

Taunton, 5 @ Milford, 2 – FinalTaunton senior Tyler Medeiros allowed just four hits in five-plus innings of work, striking out seven with two runs allowed to earn the win. Taunton scored three runs in the top of the fourth to take a 3-1 lead, added another run in the fifth inning, and tacked on an insurance run in the top of the seventh. Josh Lajoie (save), Christian Simoes, and Jacob Crawford each had two hits for Taunton while Jack Moynihan had a two-RBI triple in the fourth inning. For Milford, Danny Corsini allowed just two earned runs in six innings of work with three strikeouts. Colby Pires (RBI) and Matt Shaver (walk, two runs) each had a pair of hits for the Hawks.

Oliver Ames, 2 @ North Attleboro, 5 – FinalNorth Attleboro senior Nick Sinacola dazzled in his season debut, striking out 11 batters over six innings of work with five hits and two walks allowed. North scored single runs in the first, third, fourth, fifth and sixth. OA had a chance to tie the game with the bases loaded in the seventh inning but Peter Cohen came in to get the final out via strikeout. Nick Raneri went 2-for-3 with a double, Zach DeMattio went 2-for-3, and Nolan Buckley had a two-out RBI triple in the fifth for the Rocketeers. Oliver Ames senior Mitch Goulet was 1-for-3 with an RBI.

Softball
Sharon, 1 @ Attleboro, 13 – Final (6 inn.)Attleboro’s McKenzie Bergdoll had a strong day in the circle and at the plate to help the Bombardiers open the season with a win. Bergdoll struck out eight in four innings of work, allowing just two hits and one unearned run. At the plate, she had two hits and two RBI. Jenna Gittle finished the final two innings in the circle, striking out three while allowing two hits. Makenzie Killough and Ashley Macia each had big days at the play; Killough went 3-for4 with four RBI, including a home run while Macia was 3-for-4 with five RBI and a home run. Jordyn Lako chipped in with three hits and two RBI for Big Blue. “This was a good start with only three practices outside so far,” said AHS coach Mark Homer. “Everyone in the starting lineup contributed offensively.”

Canton, 0 @ King Philip, 25 – Final (5 inn.)King Philip’s Meghan Gorman had four of the Warriors 15 hits, including a two-run home run and a pair of doubles, finishing with five RBI. Brooke Taute contributed three hits, including a triple, and three RBI while Faith Turnese and Hailey McCasland each had multiple hits. Elise Pereira earned the win with a complete game, six strikeouts and just one hit allowed.

Foxboro, 3 @ Franklin, 2 – FinalChelsea Gibbons went 2-for-4 to lead the Warriors, while Hannah Davis and Jill Finn each had an RBI single in the victory. Foxboro’s Emma Rohan went the distance in the circle to get the win.

Stoughton, 1 @ Mansfield, 10 – FinalMansfield coach Lori Letendre called the opening game of the season “a great team effort,” as the Hornets got a strong start from Sarah Cahill, who allowed only three hits and struck out five, and had six players record at least two hits. Mady Bendanillo and Caty DeMassi both went 3-for-4 with DeMassi just a double away from the cycle. Sydney Woods, Felicity McMullin, Ella Verheggen, and Cahill each went 2-for-4. Every player in the Mansfield lineup had at least a hit or an RBI. Kerran Holmes also made a big play in left, turning a double play after a shoestring grab.

Sharon, 4 @ Franklin, 13 – FinalFranklin junior Jacob Alexander dominated the face-off X, winning 17 of 21 attempts to help give the Panthers the edge in possession. Eric Civetti paced the offense with six goals and assist while Zach Alexander, Jacob Alexander, Jake Davis and Nitin Chaudhury each scored once for the Panthers. Will Davis made five saves in net for Franklin.

Milford freshman goalie Evan Hazard made 15 saves in net while Andrew Gallagher had a team-high five points with two goals and three assists. Mike Demko and Brendan White each scored a pair of goals while Chase Blanchette had a strong game defensively with six ground balls.
