Division 1 Final

#3 Taunton, 5 vs. #9 Peabody, 3 – FinalTaunton scored four runs in a pivotal sixth inning and senior Liv Mendonca re-entered the game at pitcher to shut down a rally from Peabody to secure a 5-3 win in the Division 1 State Championship, the second straight title for the Tigers. Holding a 1-0 lead after 5.5 innings, Taunton went to work in the bottom of the sixth and pushed across four runs. An error and a double put juniors Ava Venturelli and Hayley Krockta in scoring position at second and third, respectively, and then both came to score on a triple from freshman Brooke Aldrich. A ground out from Mendonca plated Aldrich, and then Kylie Thorpe launched one over the right fielder’s head and came all the way around to score to push it to 5-0. Mendonca, who had allowed three hits and one walk through the first six innings, came out after leadoff walk in the top of the seventh, but after the Peabody offense got going and scored three runs, Mendonca returned to the circle and induced a fly ball to left for the final out. Taunton scored its first run in the third running after a leadoff double from Mia Fernandes, who took third on a sacrifice from Kyleah Plumb and then scored off a sac fly from Kaysie DeMoura.

Division 1

#33 Lexington, 0 @ #1 Franklin, 14 – FinalFranklin was firing on all cylinders in its playoff opener, scoring in five of the six innings while Jacob Jette and three relievers dominated on the mound for the shutout. The Panthers pushed across three runs in the first, two more in the second, three in the third, four in the fifth, and two more in the sixth to get the win. Jack Marino went 4-for-4 with two RBI and two runs to pace the offense, which totaled 19 hits on the day. Henry Digiorgio (three RBI, two runs), Jase Lyons (two RBI, two runs), Esig Chin (RBI, run), and Ben Jarosz (RBI, run) all added two hits in the win. Jette allowed just one hit with no walks, striking out eight in five scoreless innings of work. James Kuczmiec, Evan Raider, and Aidan Langmeyer combined for two scoreless innings of relief, with just one walk issued.

#31 Waltham, 1 @ #2 Taunton, 13 – Final

Division 2
#31 Melrose, 1 @ #2 King Philip, 8 – FinalKing Philip wasted little time in getting the offense going with four runs in the first inning to run away with a win over visiting Melrose. Max Robison and Matt Kelley drew back-to-back walks and Shawn Legere was hit by a pitch to load the bases with no outs. Brendan Sencaj drove in a pair with a single, Travis Crawford added an RBI single two at-bats later, and back-to-back walks to Brendan Weddleton and Max DiFiore brought home a fourth run. KP tacked on one run in the third (RBI single from Weddleton), one in the fourth (Sencaj sac fly), and two more in the sixth (two-run single from Crawford) to make it 8-1. Rudy Gately shined on the mound for the Warriors, allowing one run on six hits and two walks, striking out seven in six innings of work. Tommy Martorano tossed a scoreless inning in relief with one hit and one walk allowed, striking out three.

#30 Danvers, 5 @ #3 Mansfield, 6 – FinalMansfield senior Jimmy Gilleran led off the bottom of the sixth inning with a game-tying solo home run and then drove in the game-winner with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh as the Hornets walked off with a 6-5 win over upset-minded Danvers. A run in the top of the first presented the visiting Falcons with an early lead but Mansfield jumped ahead with three runs in the bottom of the third, first an RBI single from Brian Butler to tie the game followed by a two-run single from Gilleran to make it 3-1. The seesaw battle continued with Danvers scoring twice in the fifth and Mansfield scoring once (Matt DeShiro sac fly), and the same happening again in the sixth with Danvers taking a 5-4 lead before Gilleran’s solo shot in the bottom half. In the bottom of the seventh, Cian Goulet led off with a single and courtesy runner Caden Colby took second on a sac bunt from Butler. An error allowed DeShiro to reach and Colby to move to third, and Conner Zukowski reached first on a fielder’s choice, loading the bases, setting up Gilleran’s game-winning sac fly.

#29 Somerset Berkley, 2 @ #4 North Attleboro, 12 – FinalNorth Attleboro exploded for seven runs in the third inning, breaking open a close game and running away with a double-digit decision over Somerset Berkley. The visitors staked an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first but a two-run home run from Tyler DeMattio tied it before the first inning was over, and a Gio Martello RBI single in the second gave the Rocketeers a 3-2 lead going into the third. In the bottom of the third, DeMattio had a one-out walk, Danny Curran followed with a single, Dillon Harding scored both on a single to left, Jordan Paradis drew a walk, David Floyd brought Harding in with an RBI single to left, and Gavin Wells followed with a three-run blast to left field to extend the lead to 9-2. Derek Maceda tacked on an RBI double before the inning was over to make it 10-2. Paradis brought two more runs in in the bottom of the fourth with a single to center. Tyler Bannon earned the win on the mound, allowing two runs on four hits and three walks, striking out nine in six innings. Harding came on for a scoreless inning in relief, striking out one.

#19 Canton, 2 @ #14 Marblehead, 6 – FinalCanton pushed across the tying run in the top of the fifth inning to make it 2-2 but the Magicians quickly made the Bulldogs’ momentum disappear, scoring three runs in the bottom half and one more insurance run in the sixth for the win. Trailing 1-0 in the third, Matt Chafin (two hits) delivered an RBI single to pull the Dogs even, but Marblehead jumped right back ahead with a run in the bottom half. In the top of the fifth, Jack Digirolamo delivered an RBI base hit to left to make it 2-2 before the Magicians scored three in the bottom half, including a pair with two outs. Andy Butler added two hits and a run scored for Canton. Hayden Rose allowed four runs (two earned) on just four hits and no walks, striking out three in 4.1 innings of work.

#25 Oliver Ames, 3 @ #8 Westwood, 8 – Final

Division 3
#28 Saugus, 5 @ #5 Foxboro, 6 – FinalAfter seeing its lead slip away in the top of the seventh, Foxboro got the fireworks started early with a dramatic walk off win over visiting Saugus. The Warriors held a 4-3 lead going into the final hour and were three outs away from advancing in the Division 3 state tournament. But the visitors took advantage of an infield error to score one and used a sac fly to make it 5-4, meaning the Warriors were just three outs from their season ending. On the first pitch of the bottom of the the seventh, junior Ryan LeClair ripped his first career home run over the fence in left to knot the score at 5-5. On the very next pitch, Sean O’Leary launched his first career home run and Foxboro walked off with the win. Matheiu Sullivan pitched well in relief for the Warriors, tossing three scoreless innings with two hits and no walks allowed with a pair of strikeouts.

Softball
Division 1

#30 Newton South, 0 @ #3 Taunton, 25 – Final (5 Inn.)Taunton got its playoff run started in grand fashion as freshman Brooke Aldrich hit three home runs and the Tigers roared to a big win at home. Aldrich launched a three-run home run in the first to highlight a five-run inning, added another three-run blast in an 11-run run second inning, and a two-run blast in the fourth inning. Mia Fernandes added three hits, including a home run, with three RBI and the runs, while Kaysie DeMoura had two hits, including a home run, with two RBI and three runs.

Division 2
#27 Ludlow, 1 @ #6 North Attleboro, 5 – FinalKelly Colleran matched her career-high with 19 strikeouts, allowed only one hit and three balls in play, leading North to a first round win over visiting Ludlow. Mandi Hanewich got North off to a great start with a solo homer in the first. In the third, Hanewich reached on an error, stole second, and came home for what turned out to be the winning run on an Ally Levine base hit. The Rocketeers would add another run in the fourth. Shaelyn Burns reached on an error and would come around to score on a hit by Grace Simmons. Colleran helped her own cause in the fifth by driving in Mary Rogers and Hanewich, who had both singled and moved into scoring position on a Levine bunt. Colleran sealed the victory by striking out the side in both the sixth and seventh innings. North will face No. 11 Bedford on Tuesday afternoon.

#17 Wakefield, 7 @ #16 Stoughton, 2 – Final

#19 Leominster, 2 @ #14 Mansfield, 6 – FinalMansfield scored five times in the fourth inning to earn a first round win over visiting Leominster and advance to the round of 16. Liv Madeira opened the rally with a triple and scored on a bunt single by Alanna Conley. Casey Moussette singled and Olivia DeTrolio bunter her way on to load the bases. Julia Kelly plated one with a fielder’s choice and Molly Kucharski added a two-run single. Cat Kipp singled to plate one more and make it 5-0. Leominster answered with two in the top of the fifth but the Hornets got out of the inning and then added an insurance run in the bottom half. Conley singled, Moussette walked and Jill Koppy had an RBI single to make it 6-2. Conley finished the day 3-for-3. Kelly earned the win in the circle, scattering six hits and striking out eight. Mansfield will face No. 3 Walpole on Tuesday.

#23 Oliver Ames, 1 @ #10 Agawam, 4 – Final

Division 3
#24 Diman, 4 @ #9 Foxboro, 5 – FinalVisiting Diman pushed across a pair of runs in the top of the seventh to try and force extra innings but a single from freshman Vittoria Cuscia gave the host Warriors a walk-off win to advance to the next round. Foxboro held a 4-2 lead going into the final frame but Diman struck twice for make it 2-2. In the bottom of the seventh, senior Peyton Feldman had a single, stole second, and came home to score the winning run on a base hit from Cuscia. Cuscia got the win in the circle, striking out nine. Freshman Jill Slattery added two hits, two runs, and a stolen base in the win.

King Philip, 1 @ North Attleboro, 3 – FinalIn a playoff tuneup for two of the two rated teams in Division 2, North Attleboro emerged with its second win over King Philip this season. The Rocketeers scored twice in the third and once more in the sixth, and David Floyd had a strong showing on the mound in the win. Floyd allowed just one hit and one walk with seven strikeouts, allowing one unearned run in 6.2 innings of work. Tyler Bannon had a one-out single and Tyler DeMattio drew a two-out walk in the third, and both came home to score on a single to center from Danny Curran to give the hosts the lead. King Philip cut the deficit in half on an RBI ground out from Max Robison but North responded in the bottom half on a single to center from Floyd to score Jordan Paradis, who had a leadoff walk. Quin Gartska pitched well in the loss, allowing two runs on six hits and two walks, striking out three in 4.1 innings of work.

Oliver Ames, 2 @ Dighton-Rehoboth, 4 – Final Oliver Ames built an early lead with a run in each of the first two innings, but Dighton-Rehoboth tied it with two runs in the fifth, and took the lead for the first time with two runs in the sixth. Jake Waxman went 1-for-2 with a walk and an RBI double for the Tigers. Nathan Carpentier also had an RBI for the Tigers.

Softball
King Philip, 8 @ Bridgewater-Raynham, 5 – FinalKing Philip’s offense erupted for seven runs in the top of the sixth inning, erasing a four run deficit to claim a 8-5 win on the road at Bridgewater-Raynham, finishing the regular season 20-2. KP staked a 1-0 lead in the top of the first on a two-out RBI single from Charlotte Raymond but the Trojans plated three runs in the bottom half and two more in the third for a 5-1 lead. After Taylor Regan reached on an error to start the sixth, Raymond blasted a double to right to bring in a run, and then scored when Liv Petrillo reached on an error. After a single from Mia Bennett, Maddie Paschke drove in a run with a single to right. Sarah Cullen reached on a bunt single to load the bases before Ava Kelley tied the game with a single to right field, and an overthrow allowed courtesy runner Liv Ali to score for a 6-5 lead. Meg Sherwood (sac fly) and Regan (infield error) each brought in another run to make it 8-5. Emma Sheehan was terrific in relief for the Warriors, allowing just one hit and no walks, striking out two in five scoreless innings of relief for the win.

Taunton, 11 @ Newton North, 4 – FinalLocked in a one-run game through six innings, Taunton exploded for six runs in the top of the seventh to run away with its second win over Newton North this season. It was a back-and-forth battle between the two Tigers squads with Taunton claiming a 3-0 lead through 3.5 innings only for Newton North to erase that deficit with a three-run fourth inning. The visiting Tigers went back ahead with two runs in the top of the sixth (an RBI single from Liv Mendonca that brought a second run home on the throw) but the hosts responded with a run in the bottom half to make it a one-run game, 5-4, going into the final inning. Mia Fernandes had other plans as she launched a leadoff solo home run in the seventh, her second straight game with a homer. Angie Lynch and Kaysie DeMoura had back-to-back singles, and both scored on a double from Ava Venturelli. Hayley Krockta followed with a two-run double of her own, and Kylie Thorpe added a one-out RBI single to make it 11-4. Kyleah Plumb and Brooke Aldrich each added two hits and scored twice, and freshman Cate Larson went 2-for-2 with an RBI. Larson allowed three runs (all unearned) on two hits and three walks, striking out. three in 3.2 innings. Mendonca came on in relief, allowing one run on three hits and a walk, also striking out three in 3.1 innings.

Franklin, 9 @ Foxboro, 8 – Final (9 Inn.)A back-and-forth seesaw battle between Franklin and Foxboro saw the visitors prevail with a tight 9-8 win in innings of action. Franklin took the first lead of the game with a run in the top of the first, Foxboro answered with two runs in the second, Franklin jumped back ahead with five runs in the third, but the Warriors responded with four runs in the fifth and another in the sixth for a 7-6 lead. The Panthers plated a pair in the top of the seventh to go up once again but Foxboro sent the game to extra innings with an RBI double with two outs. After a scoreless eighth, Franklin’s Carly Pellegri smacked a one-out double to bring Katy Liberman in for the winning run. The Warriors got a runner in scoring position with two outs but Kiera Kotwicki got her third strikeout to end it. Pellegri finished 4-for-5 with three RBI and two runs with her two-run home run putting Franklin ahead 8-7 in the seventh. Reece Allen (RBI, run), Georgia Harvey (two runs), and Aislinn Lavery (two RBI, run) each added three hits for the Panthers. Freshman Ava Hill went 4-for-5, including an RBI double in the seventh that forced extra innings. Peyton Feldman added three hits, an RBI, and a run scored for the Warriors.

Girls Lacrosse
Canton, 13 @ Quincy, 8 – FinalCanton closed the regular season with a 13-8 win on the road over Quincy, winning eight of its final nine games to finish the season at 14-3. Goalie Elyse Broderick had one of her best games of the season, turning away 12 shots to lead Emily McCabe led the charge offensively for the Bulldogs with four goals and three assists while Ella Yeaton added four goals and one helper.

Taunton, 12 @ Milford, 2 – Final (5 Inn.)

Mansfield, 3 vs. Xaverian, 2 – FinalMansfield erased a two-run deficit in the sixth inning and then walked off with a win in the bottom of the seventh to knock off the defending D1 state champs Xaverian. The visiting Hawks scored once in the third and fourth to build a 2-0 lead going into the final two innings. The Hornets went without a run over the first five innings but not for a lack of opportunity. Mansfield loaded the bases in both the first and fifth innings, and had runners in scoring position in the second third, and fourth innings but couldn’t push across a run. That chad in the sixth as Caden Colby drew a lead off walk, moved to second on a single from Matt DeShiro (3-for-5), and an infield single from Conner Zukowski loaded the bases. Jimmy Gilleran grounded into a fielder’s choice to bring into a run and DeShiro then came home to tie it. In the bottom of the seventh, Jared Fraone had a one-out single, took second on a walk by Colby Geddis, and then came around to score the winning run on a two-out single from DeShiro. Aaron Blinn pitched well in the start for the hosts, allowing two runs on seven hits and four walks, striking out six in five innings of work. Geddis earned the win in relief, tossing two scoreless innings with one hit, one walk, and four strikeouts.

Softball
Attleboro, 1 @ North Attleboro, 4 – FinalZoey McDonough struck out 16 and allowed only an unearned run to lead North to a big win in its season finale, splitting the series with the Bombardiers. Attleboro got on the board in the top of the first but McDonough dominated, allowing only one lead-off batter to reach all afternoon. North tied the game in the third. Mandi Hanewich reached on a single, stole third, and came home on an overthrow. The following inning, Maryellen Charette hit a solo homer, her first varsity home run, to put North in front. In the fifth, Hanewich and Ally Levine beat out infield hits and Colleran plated one with a double. McDonough helped her own cause with a single that scored Levine. McDonough then capped the win by striking out the side in the seventh. It was North’s fifth straight win to close out the regular season.

Mansfield, 5 vs. Boston Latin Academy, 0 – Final (Forfeit)

Sharon, 11 @ Duxbury, 7 – Final

Foxboro, 0 vs. Silver Lake, 2 – Final

Taunton, 11 vs. Bishop Feehan, 6 – FinalBuoyed by a big start and a strong offensive performance, Taunton picked up a win over Bishop Feehan in a contest between two of the top rated teams in Division 1. The visiting Shamrocks got on the board first with a run in the top of the first inning but Taunton struck for four runs in the bottom half and led the rest of the way. Walks to Kyleah Plumb and Angie Lynch preceded Kaysie DeMoura being hit by a pitch to load the bases. Ava Venturelli drew another walk to bring in a run, Hayley Krockta brought a run in with a sac fly, Liv Mendonca added another run on a ground out, and Brooke Aldrich smacked an RBI double for a 4-1 lead after an inning. The Tigers added two runs in the second (Mia Fernandes solo home run, Venturelli RBI ground out) and another in the third (Plumb HBP with bases loaded) for a 7-2 lead. In the bottom of the fifth, Taunton tacked on four more runs to build a lead too big for the Shamrocks to rally from. Kylie Thorpe had an RBI single, Fernandes drove in one with a single to center, and Lynch’s single to left brought in two runs.

Mansfield, 8 vs. Advanced Math & Science Academy, 5 – Final

Oliver Ames, 12 vs. Middleboro, 8 – FinalOA scored nine times in the first half and held off a second-half comeback by the Sachems to secure the non-league win. Ben Reardon was the spark on offense, leading the Tigers with seven goals. Ryan Jaco had a hat trick and Evan Jaco and Alex McAndrew each scored once in the win. Despite being shorthanded, OA led 9-2 at the break and was able to hold on down the stretch.

Girls Lacrosse
Attleboro, 5 @ Milford, 12 – FinalAislinn Bennett scored five goals to lead the Hawks to a season sweep of Attleboro and to their 11th win of the season. Bennett now has 81 goals for the season and is the program’s leading scorer with 117 goals in her career. Emily Croteau added two goals, while Carly Haley, Jill Araujo, Erin Michelson, Stephanie Goulet, and Ava Lebel each found the back of the net once. Caitlyn Bangert made eight saves to preserve the win and Emma Tredeau had a solid game in defense. Milford is heading to the playoffs for the first time since 2012.

Oliver Ames, 17 @ Middleboro, 6 – FinalGeorgia Costello scored five goals and Hailey Bourne scored four to lead the Tigers to a non-league road win. Jess Widdop had another solid game in net to pick up the win for OA.

Taunton, 7 @ Sharon, 6 – FinalCali Melo and Sarah Clark each recorded hat tricks for the Tigers, who beat Sharon by a goal for the second time this season. Caroline Vallarelli added a goal for the Tigers. Sharon got big games from its seniors, Athena Merck scored three times and Kaitlyn Galeota added two. Bailey Garte had Sharon’s sixth goal and Tess Letendre continued her strong play in goal, making 21 saves to keep the Eagles close.

Boys Tennis
King Philip, 1 @ Xaverian, 4 – Final

Sharon, 4 @ North Attleboro, 1 – FinalSharon completed a perfect 16-0 league schedule by taking down North Attleboro on the road. The Eagles won a pair of matches in singles action and swept both doubles matches to get the win. Sophomore Matthew Lally earned a 6-0, 6-3 straight set win at first singles and freshman Jacob Slavsky took a 6-2, 6-0 verdict at third singles for the Eagles. The team of Hyojae Park and Sava Kassev only lost a pair of games in a 6-0, 6-2 win at first doubles while Savir Basil and Wenhao Yang added a 6-2, 6-1 win at second doubles. North Attleboro’s Brody Carter captured a 6-2, 7-5 win at second singles.

King Philip, 4 @ Franklin, 1 – FinalKing Philip won its second straight match over Franklin to finish the season, leapfrogging the Panthers in the standings to claim its fifth straight Kelley-Rex division title. After dropping a contest to OA in early May, the Warriors rattled off nine straight wins to finish the season to move into the top spot in the division. King Philip, which won by the same score on Monday, finished off a rain-delayed match from last week on Wednesday. Ahunna James picked up where she left off a week ago and earned a straight set (6-2, 6-0) win at first singles while Shea Mellman erased a 4-2 deficit in the first set to win 10 of the next 11 games to secure a 6-4, 6-1 win — the match that clinched the win and the division title for the Warriors. Resha Ajoy and Lauren Casper added a 6-4, 6-4 win at first doules while Priya Riar and Carlie Burns rallied in the third set, overcoming a three-game deficit to prevail 6-4, 1-6, 7-6 (5).

Attleboro, 5 @ Milford, 3 – FinalBilly Saltmarsh and Ben Hochwarter combined for a strong pitching effort on the mound and the Bombardiers picked up a key win on the road at Milford. Saltmarsh struck out eight in 5.1 innings of work to get the win while Hochwarter had two strikeouts in 2.1 innings. The Bombardiers had eight hits on the day with Evan Houle, Cooper Johnson, and Saltmarsh each recording a pair. Brody McKenna added a base hit and a run scored and Tyler Dunlea had one hit and one RBI.

Stoughton, 3 @ Canton, 1 – FinalStoughton used two runs in the top of the first inning, a key insurance run in the sixth, and a great pitching effort from Joseph Rush and Anthony Tilton to take down Canton for its first league win of the season. Anthony Girolamo smacked a two-out single to score both Brad Franey (walk) and Anthony Tilton (single) to give the Black Knights an early 2-0 lead. Rush allowed just one run on five hits and two walks, striking out one to earn the win. Tilton picked up a two-inning save, allowing two hits and one walk with a pair of strikeouts in two shutout innings. Canton cut the deficit in half in the bottom of the fifth on an RBI double from Eddie Gillis to score Matt Hart (triple) but Stoughton got it back in the top of the sixth on an RBI from Tilton. Hayden Rose tossed a complete game for the Bulldogs, allowing three runs in just five hits and one walk, striking out three.

Foxboro, 3 @ North Attleboro, 1 – FinalFreshman Nolan Gordon tossed a complete game for his fifth win of the season and the Warriors scored three runs in the top of the sixth to stun North Attleboro on the road at Community Field. Gordon allowed just one run (unearned) on three hits and three walks, striking out five for the victory. The Rocketeers took the lead with the first run of the game in the fourth on a one-out triple from Tyler DeMattio, who came home to score after a throwing error on the same play. Foxboro rallied in the top of the sixth as Jack Watts reached on a dropped third strike and Ryan LeClair was hit by a pitch to put two runners on. Sean O’Leary tied the game with a double to center to bring Watts home, and then on an 0-2 count, Louis Carangelo smashed a triple to right to bring in both LeClair and O’Leary to make it 3-1. Gordon worked around a one-out single from DeMattio in the sixth and a one-out walk to Dillon Harding in the seventh to get the win.

Taunton, 1 @ Franklin, 7 – FinalFranklin junior blasted a three-run home run over the fence in right field in a five-run third inning as the Panthers avenged a loss to Taunton from earlier in the season. Sophomore Henry Digiorgio and junior Jase Lyons had back-to-back RBI singles to put the hosts ahead 4-1 and then Chin sent a 2-0 pitch deep to right to make it 7-1. Franklin took the lead on a sac fly from Evan Raider in the bottom of the first before Taunton leveled things on an RBI single from Shawn Cali in the top of the second. The Panthers went back ahead in the bottom of the second with a sac fly from Ben Jarosz. James Kuczmiec, who normally comes on in relief for the Panthers, had a terrific outing on the mound with just one run allowed on five hits and two walks, striking out a pair in a complete-game effort. Evan Cali tossed three scoreless innings in relief for the Tigers, allowing four hits with two strikeouts.

King Philip, 1 @ Mansfield, 2 – FinalAfter King Philip scored the first run of the game in the top of the fifth, Mansfield pushed across two in the bottom half and that was enough for the Hornets in a tight battle against the Warriors. Shawn Legere presented the visitors with a 1-0 lead with an RBI triple that plated Rudy Gately for a 1-0 lead. Mansfield starter Aaron Blinn (6 IP, 5 H, 1 BB, 1 ER, 8 K) stranded the runner at third though, inducing a ground ball in the next at-bat. Cian Goulet reached on an error and took second to lead off the bottom half, advanced to third on a sac bunt from Aiden Jones, and then scored on an RBI single from Matt DeShiro to make it 1-1. Another KP error kept the inning alive and Conner Zukowski, who had walked earlier in the inning, came home to score the go-ahead run on a wild pitch. Connor Curtis retired the side in order in the bottom of the seventh, including two strikeouts, to get the save. Gately pitched well for the Warriors, going five innings with two runs (unearned) allowed on three hits, two walks, and six strikeouts. Max Robison had three hits on the day for KP while Jake Maydak had two for the Hornets.

Sharon, 4 @ Oliver Ames, 9 – FinalOliver Ames took the lead with a four-run third inning and then extended it by scoring again in the fourth, the sixth, and seventh to secure a win over Sharon. Ian Kelly and Nathan Carpentier each drove in a run and Jack Richardson plated two with a single in the third as the Tigers established a 4-0 lead. Brad Washburne scored on a passed ball and Nathanial Lewis added an RBI single in the fourth, Kelly drew a bases-loaded walk in the sixth, and both Washburne and Ryan Lemay drove in a run in the seventh to make it 9-0. Sharon pushed across four runs with two outs in the bottom of the seventh with Dan Okstein driving in a run with a single, Connor Blaney drawing a bases-loaded walk and Liam Conway plating two with a double to left. Richardson got the win on the mound, tossing 4.2 shutout innings with one hit and five walks allowed, and five strikeouts.








Softball
Milford, 0 @ Attleboro, 12 – Final (5 inn.)Attleboro’s Lily Routhier had a game to remember, tossing a no-hitter while also having a big day offensively to lead the Bombardiers over visiting Milford. Routhier didn’t allow a hit or a walk in five innings of work, striking out four with strong defense behind her. At the dish, she went 3-for-4 and knocked in three runs. Lauren Eby also had three hits with four RBI, Sarah Maher added two hits and an RBI, and Lindsey Perry had a hit and an RBI in the win. Kayla Goldrick smashed a two-run homer over the fence in the bottom of the fourth for Attleboro.

Canton, 4 @ Stoughton, 6 – Final Kerry Driscoll had a strong showing in the circle and Kate Bulger had a big day at the dish to lead Stoughton to a close win over Canton. Driscoll allowed just three hits in a complete-game effort for her eighth win of the season. Bulger had three hits on the day, including a double, and drove in a run. Leila Alaoui added an RBI double while Sydney Menz chipped in with a base hit and two RBI.

North Attleboro, 4 @ Foxboro, 0 – FinalNorth extended its lead at the top of the Davenport division and swept the season series with Foxboro. Kelly Colleran continues to dominate in the circle, striking out 19 batters to match the program record that she set last Friday and giving up only two infield singles. North broke the deadlock with two outs in the fifth. Pinch hitter Arianna McDavitt singled to start a rally and came in to score the game-winner on Mandi Hanewich’s triple. After Ally Levine drew a walk, Colleran knocked in a pair of runs with a double. Maryellen Charette scored North’s fourth run in the sixth. She doubled and came in on a sac fly from Emma Hanwell. Zoey McDonough returned from injury for North and had a pair of hits.

Franklin, 3 @ Taunton, 15 – Final (6 inn.)Taunton led 4-3 heading to the bottom of the fifth and exploded for 11 runs over the next two innings to seal the win. The Tigers jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first and made it 4-1 in the third, but the Panthers got a pair of runs in the fourth to get back within one. Taunton got four in the fifth and then seven more in the sixth to close it out. Ava Venturelli was 4-for-4 with a pair of homers and drove in five runs to the lead the Tigers. Brooke Aldrich was 3-for-5 with a homer and three RBI, Hayley Krockta added a solo homer, and Mia Fernandes was 2-for-3 with three RBI in the nine-hole. Cate Larson went the distance, allowing no earned runs, to pick up the win.

Mansfield, 0 @ King Philip, 12 – Final (5 inn.)King Philip’s offense came alive with eight runs in the bottom of the second inning and extended the lead with runs in the fourth and fifth innings to take down Mansfield. Emma Sheehan was stellar in the circle, allowing just one hit and one walk, striking out six in five scoreless innings. Charlotte Raymond drove in a pair to get the offense going and Mia Bennett pushed another runner home to make it 3-0, and then the Warriors added five more runs with two outs. Ava Kelley, Meg Sherwood, Liv Petrillo (walk), Raymond (HBP), and Bennett all brought in a run during the sequence. Raymond added an RBI in the fourth and then KP plated three more in the fifth: an RBI from Missy Canning, an RBI double from Taylor Regan, and a throwing error for the final run.

Sharon, 2 @ Oliver Ames, 21 – Final (5 inn.) Oliver Ames came out on fire with nine runs in the first and 10 more in the second to take a big win over visiting Sharon. Junior captains Maddie Homer (4-for-4, five RBI, three runs) and Katie Melendy (2-for-5, four RBI, two runs) paced the offense for the Tigers. Junior Lexi Galsband, sophomore Madison Monteiro and freshman Devon Morris had two hits and three RBI each for OA. Melendy got the win in the circle, allowing just three hits with 10 strikeouts.

Sharon, 9 @ North Attleboro, 18 – FinalJared Vacher had a strong showing at the face off X, setting North Attleboro for a big day offensively in a non-league win over Sharon. Clayton Billingkoff and Matt Antonetti each had five goals apiece with three assists while Connor Ruppert added a pair of goals and four helpers. The Rocketeers played well defensively in front of JT Gallagher (seven saves).

Oliver Ames, 13 @ Hull, 4 – FinalOliver Ames went on the road and returned home with a 13-4 verdict over Hull. The Tigers had five players find the back of the net with junior Ben Reardon leading the charge with seven goals. Wyatt Fritchman added a pair while Ryan Jaco, Alex McAndrew, Wes Tower, and Ryan Moore each scored once. Junior Noah Isleib made 10 saves in net for the win.

Girls Lacrosse
Canton, 12 @ Oliver Ames, 9 – FinalAfter building a one-goal lead at the half (7-6), Canton held the hosts to just half of that production in the second half to get a key win on the road. Ella Yeaton paced the attack for the Bulldogs with five goals while Emily McCabe added four goals and four assists. Elyse Broderick made eight saves in net to secure the win.

North Attleboro, 18 @ Sharon, 7 – FinalNorth jumped out to a 12-2 lead at halftime to pick up the road win. Bailey Garte scored three times for the Eagles, who also got goals from Keira Lydeard, Anna Hertzel, Lauren McLaughlin, and Kaitlyn Galeota. McLaughlin also gave the Eagles a strong presence on the draw and the defensive end of the field. Gilli Aronson stepped into goal for the first time this season and saved five of the 11 shots she faced, as the Eagles played nearly even in the second half.

Milford, 10 vs. Blackstone Valley, 6 – FinalAfter seeing a four-goal lead slip away to visiting Blackstone Valley, Milford scored five of the final six goals to secure the win. The Hawks had a 5-1 lead before the visitors chipped away, eventually pulling even at 5-5 early in the second half. Emily Croteau (two goals, three assists), Aislinn Bennett (four goals, two assists), Carly Haley (three goals, one assist), and Stephanie Goulet (goal) paced the offense.

Taunton, 5 @ Dighton-Rehoboth, 12 – FinalThe Tigers had four different players find the back of the net but fell against Dighton-Rehoboth in a non-league clash. Maddison Szala led the way with a pair of goals while Sarah Clark, Cali Melo, and Riley Lemaire each scored once for the Tigers.

Kyle Neuendorf overcame a one-set deficit to secure a 3-6, 6-0, 7-5 win at first singles, Ethan Johnson rolled in a 6-0, 6-1 decision at second sinlges, and Arnov Sodhani prevailed from a hard-fought third singles match with a 6-4, 7-5 win. Attleboro’s fourth point came from the team of Evan Sousa and Brady Rosen, battleing to a 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 win. Milford’s second doubles tandem of Pedro DeSousa and Todd Ostertag battled for a 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 win.

Canton, 3 @ Stoughton, 2 – FinalCanton’s Davis Lamb and Kevin Moltenbrey prevailed in a battle at first doubles that went three sets to secure the clinching point for the Bulldogs in a win on the road over Stoughton. Lamb and Moltenbrey earned a 6-2, 5-7, 6-3 win to clinch the victory. Max Kupferman (6-0, 6-1) and Suraj Ramanathan (6-0, 6-0) added wins at first and second singles, respectively, for the Bulldogs. Stoughton got wins from Anish Sinha (third singles) and Anthony Maylock and Aadil Khond (second doubles).

Senior Bo Canfield grabbed a 2-6, 7-5, 7-5 win at second singles while the team of freshman Luca Meyer and sophomore Ryan Fossella battled to a 6-0, 4-6, 7-6 (3) win at first doubles. Garrett Spillane added a 6-2, 6-2 win at first singles and Raj Jetty added a 6-1, 6-0 win at third singles. North Attleboro’s Aashman Gupta and Caleb Cheney earned a 6-4, 6-1 win at second doubles.

Franklin, 5 @ Taunton, 0 – FinalWith straight-set wins in all five matches, Franklin earned a sweep on the road over Taunton. Senior Vayshnav Malhotra earned a 6-1, 6-1 win at first singles, senior Sameen Shaik added a 6-1, 6-2 victory at second singles, and senior Drew Mahoney grabbed a 6-0, 6-0 win at third singles. Attleboro’s two doubles teams continued their success as seniors Saharla Yusuf and Tina Lam grabbed a 6-1, 6-2 win at first doubles, and sophomores Kyra Johnson and Presley Biller earned a 6-0, 6-0 win at second doubles. Milford’s Serena Borges earned a 7-6 (5), 6-4 win in a hard-fought, competitive battle at third singles.

Sophomore Navya Shukla emerged with a 6-3, 6-7 (8), 7-6 (5) win at first singles, freshman Judy Song earned a 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 win at second singles, and junior Abby Vilk took a 6-3, 6-2 verdict at third singles. Sharon’s fourth point came from the doubles team of freshman Olivia Landstein and junior Ellie Zhao, who overcame a one-set deficit for a 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 win. OA’s first doubles tandem of Caroline Peper and Morgan Vasiliou earned a 6-3, 6-2 win.

Stoughton, 0 @ Franklin, 10 – Final – Highlighted by a five-goal outburst in the second quarter, Franklin continued to roll with another big win. Sydney Rogan scored the lone goal of the first quarter in the 10th minute before Kaitlyn Carney scored two in a row in the second to make it 3-0. Payten Crandall sandwiched a pair of goals around one from Raena Crandall while Emily Carney, Kendall Jones, and Ella Mahoney all had first half assists. Ella Aldred scored twice in the second half while Kaitlyn Carney and Emily Carney each scored once. Shaw Downing and Jill Finerty recorded second half assists. Megan Sullivan and Chloe Strassner combined for the shutout in net.

Oliver Ames, 2 @ King Philip, 3 – FinalKing Philip carried a 3-0 lead into the final minutes of the game and held off a comeback bid from the visiting Tigers. Senior Margo Riley and freshman Makenzie McDevitt scored in the first half to help the Warriors build a 2-0 advantage by the halftime break. Riley tacked on another goal to push the KP lead to 3-0; McDevitt, Sydney O’Shea, and Christina Gifun all had an assist in the win. KP received strong defensive play from seniors Morgan Cunningham and Haley Izydorczak. OA’s Lauren Mularzcyk scored her first career goal to jumpstart the Tigers, who got a goal from Erin Cottam with five seconds to play. Both Ava Costello (assist) and Julia Maclaine had strong performances for OA.

North Attleboro, 2 @ Taunton, 1 – FinalClick here for a photo gallery of this game – North Attleboro’s Julia Puccio scored a pair of second half goals to help the Rocketeers record a close win on the road at Taunton. After a scoreless first half, Puccio and Taunton’s Kaysie DeMoura traded goals in the third quarter. Caroline Folan help set up the game-winner, which saw Puccio fire a nice backhand shot while in traffic in front for the game-winner. Sophomore Gracie Leary made a pair of key kick saves in the final moments to help preserve the win. Em Gannon recorded nine saves for the Tigers.










Volleyball
Sharon, 0 @ Attleboro, 3 – FinalNatalie Brojek dished out 23 assists and Attleboro picked up a 3-0 (25-11, 25-25, 29-27) win at home for its seventh victory of the season, the most in over a decade. Brojek added four aces in the win, freshman Julia Leonardo was a force at the net with 16 kills, and Lilly Boedeker anchored the defense with nine digs.

Foxboro, 0 @ Milford, 3 – Final

Canton, 1 @ Mansfield, 3 – FinalAfter splitting the first two games, Mansfield went on to win the final two sets to secure a 3-1 win (25-23, 22-25, 25-11, 25-20) over the visiting Bulldogs. Julia Kelly paced the offense with 15 kills, Nicole Santos added 10 kills and had a strong showing from the service line with six aces, and Lexie Scibilia added six kills in the win. Christina Lydon (20 assists) and Izzy Flint (17 assists) ran the offense for the Hornets. Anne Verille had another stellar showing for Canton with outstanding defense and aggressive serving while Fatima Sidibay and Amaiah Christian played well in the middle, combining for nine kills and four blocks.

Stoughton, 0 @ Franklin, 3 – FinalIt was a day to remember for Franklin senior Cailyn Mackintosh, who recorded the 1,000th assist of her career and had a strong all-around game to lead the Panthers to a dominant sweep, 3-0 (25-7, 25-6, 25-7). Mackintosh finished with 24 assists along with seven digs, five kills, and four assists for the undefeated Panthers.

Oliver Ames, 0 @ King Philip, 3 – Final – King Philip prevailed in a tight second set that went down to the wire and went on to complete the sweep, 3-0 (25-17, 26-24, 25-11) of Oliver Ames. Stella Bailey had a big day at the service line with 14 service points, including five aces, while Samantha Asprelli added four more aces to go along with five digs. Sami Shore chipped in with four aces as well to go with eight kills and three digs while Ahunna James recorded a pair of aces and seven kills for the undefeated Warriors. For OA, sophomore Sarah Hilliard had a strong showing with 14 kills to pace the Tiger offense. Senior Hadley Rhodes added 20 assists and junior Maddie Homer finished with 15 digs and 18 serve receptions.

North Attleboro, 2 @ Taunton, 3 – FinalClick here for a photo gallery of this game – Taunton saw its 1-0 lead disappear as North rallied to grab all the momentum with back-to-back close wins in the second and third sets, but the Tigers bounced back to win two straight sets and the match, 3-2 (25-21, 24-26, 24-26, 25-22, 15-12). Taunton had a balanced attack on offense led by Hayley Krockta (12 kills, six digs, four aces), Mikayla Cleary (11 kills, five blocks, two aces), and Angie Lynch (nine kills) while Aislinn Campbell had a big game at the net with seven blocks and six kills. Anna Abouzeid put the offense in motion with 25 assists as well as two kills and two aces while Jess Foley, Dani Lofgren, and Mia Fernandes all played well defensively with eight digs apiece.




Boys Cross-Country
Attleboro, 31 @ Mansfield, 26 – Final Mansfield took five of the top eight spots to earn a close win at home over Attleboro. Senior Collin Stevens paced the Hornet pack with a team-best time of 17:42 for second overall. Senior Chris Leonard (18:17) took fourth, sophomore Talon Johnson added key points with a fifth place finish (18:24), senior Riley Tremblay took seventh (18:55), and junior Clark Mackin rounded out the Mansfield scoring at 18:59 for eighth overall.

Stoughton, 34 @ Foxboro, 21 – FinalSenior Nick Olson crossed first and Foxboro took five of the top seven spots in a win at Payson Road against Stoughton. Olson won the race in 17:27, junior Brooks Stone took third overall (19:32), and junior Stephen Haney (19:37) was fourth. Senior Jared Ciora and junior Cooper Hassman rounded out the scoring for the hosts by taking sixth and seventh, respectively.

Taunton, 22 @ Milford, 38 – FinalTaunton continued its strong start to the season, improving to 4-0 with a win on the road over Milford. The Tigers took five of the top seven spots, including three of the first four, to get the win. Brayden Cali was the top runner for Taunton, taking second overall in 17:08. Sam Dennis clocked in at 17:12 for third while Andrew Cali took fourth overall (17:18). Ryan Strawbridge (17:25) and Cam Dorr (18:26) rounded out the scoring for the Tigers.

Attleboro, 48 @ Mansfield, 15 – FinalThe first five runners to cross the finish line were all members of the Mansfield Hornets, who knocked off Attleboro on a 5K course at the Plymouth Street Soccer Complex. Sophomore Anna Moore led the charge for the hosts, who had eight of the top 10 overall runners in the race. Moore clocked in at 21:48 for the win, senior Meghan Johnston took second (22:09), senior Alanna Conley crossed third (23:43),senior Sophia Allen was fourth (23:55), and junior Devin Anderson rounded out the scoring with a fifth place finish (25:02). Freshman Emily Quaglia was the top runner for Attleboro, crossing the finish line in a time of 25:59 for seventh overall.

Stoughton, 31 @ Foxboro, 24 – FinalFoxboro swept the top three spots all within a 30-second time span and that was enough to lead the Warriors to a win over the visiting Black Knights. Junior Casey Dahl won the race in 22:03 while classmates Aine Fitzpatrick (22:09) and Mabel Linck (22:30) rounded out the top three. Juniors Kyla Palmer and Sarah Howard took eighth and 10th, respectively, for the Warriors.

Taunton, 22 @ Milford, 38 – FinalTaunton freshman Emersyn Deponte set a new program record with her third dual meet win of the season and all five of the scorers for the Tigers clocked in a new personal records in a win over Milford. Deponte won the race in 20:27 with classmate Colby Dunham taking third overall just three seconds later. Kiley Quinlan (22:06) was fourth, Phylicia Dias (22:30) took fifth, and Jakhai Nicholson (24:36) earned ninth for the Tigers.

Franklin, 169 @ Mansfield, 164 – FinalMansfield kept its division title hopes alive with a close win over Franklin, splitting the season series with the Panthers. Senior Cian Goulet fired a team-low round of 38 to help the Hornets get the win at Norton Country Club. Seniors Ryan Doherty (41), Hunter Tang (42), and Jordan Tavares (43) rounded out the scoring for the hosts.

Mike Matheson birded the fifth hole on his way to a match medalist round of 36 to lead the way for KP. Jared Curran birdied both the first and fifth holes to finish at 38 while both Pat Reardon and Ethan Sullivan shot a 40. Sharon’s Nathan Daley also birded the fifth hole and had a team-low round of 38. Eric Carter added a 40 for the Eagles and Owen Kevorkian shot a 42.

Canton, 156 @ Foxboro, 160 – FinalFoxboro nearly pulled off the upset of the season on the Front 9 at Foxborough Country Club but Canton came away with a close win to keep its lead in the Davenport division. Canton’s Will Gefteas and Mekhala Costello each shot a 38 on the day, sharing match medalist honors with Foxboro’s Dylan Pothier. Charlie Cohen and Nate MacDonald each added a 40 in the win. Jack Rounds shot a 39 for the Warriors and Louie Carangelo added a round of 40.

North Attleboro, 170 @ Oliver Ames, 155 – FinalSenior Jo Jo Gaultier fired an even par round of 35 as Oliver Ames picked up its eighth win of the season by beating North Attleboro at Thorny Lea Golf Club in Brockton. Girls Soccer
Oliver Ames, 5 @ Attleboro, 1 – FinalOA rallied from a goal down with five straight scores to open its season with a road win. Jamie Davies had put Attleboro ahead in the ninth minute, off a Kacey Parker assist, but not two minutes later the Tigers equalized on a long-range strike by freshman Emma Gavin. Camryn O’Connor put OA ahead for good and then Kyla Melton scored either side of halftime to put the game out of reach. Alex Lane added the fifth with 15 minutes left to play. Attleboro coach Steve Santos praised his central defenders Olivia Calderone and Emma Stromfors but admitted that the Tigers just had too much on Friday.

Foxboro, 5 vs. Walpole, 2 – FinalAfter being shut out on Thursday, the Warriors found their offense on Friday to earn a non-league win. Kailee McCabe was the star, as the All-New England selection scored three times and assisted on another. Erin Foley and freshman Neve Taylor also got on the board for Foxboro. Foxboro coach Katie Stalcup also praised the Warriors defense for fighting hard the whole game to keep out the Timberwolves.

Oliver Ames, 1 @ Attleboro, 3 – FinalAttleboro defended its home turf with a win over the defending Davenport division champions Oliver Ames. Sarah McMahon and Madison Ellis each had a goal and an assist to pace the Bombardier offense. Alyvia Bessette opened the scoring for Attleboro followed by Ellis (unassisted) and McMahon (from Ellis and Olivia Hillman).

Canton, 1 @ Franklin, 5 – FinalFranklin opened the second in style, pumping in a pair of goals in both the second and third quarters, to knock off visiting Canton. Kendall Jones (from Kaitlyn Carney) opened the scoring but Canton’s Erin Lane tied the game just two minutes later. Franklin pulled ahead in the second and never looked back; Carney (unassisted) and Jones (from Shaw Downing) scored three minutes apart to give the Panthers a 3-1 lead at the half. In the third, Downing (unassisted) scored less than a minute in and Payton Crandall (from Carney) notched her first career goal to cap the scoring. Megan Sullivan made six saves to earn the win in net.

North Attleboro, 2 @ Mansfield, 2 – FinalNorth Attleboro sophomore goalie Gracie Leary made two huge saves inside the final three minutes to help preserve a point for the Rocketeers on the road at Mansfield. Leary totaled nine saves, including her final one with just over a minute to go to get the point. Junior Julia Puccio scored on a corner in the first quarter on a pass from Zoe McKeon. Mansfield got goals from Rose Maher and Dani Cuzzi to take the lead but North’s Caroline Folan scored on a corner with 3:25 to play to level the scoring.

Thalia Nogueria, Kylie Thorpe, and Braeley MacDonald also played well for the Tigers.

Oliver Ames, 1 @ Attleboro, 3 – FinalAttleboro won a close first set and went on to take a 3-1 (25-22, 25-19, 21-25, 25-16) win over visiting Oliver Ames. For OA, senior Hadley Rhodes had 15 assists and six kills, Maddie Homer had 24 digs and 22 serve receptions and sophomore Sarah Hilliard tallied 10 kills.

Foxboro, 0 @ King Philip, 3 – FinalKing Philip opened its season in style with a 3-0 sweep (25-9, 25-12, 25-3) over visiting Foxboro. Ahunna James paced the offense with seven kills, Sami Shore added six kills and four aces, Sofia Reidel had was strong at the service line with seven aces and Emily Sawyer put down five kills in her debut.

Canton, 0 @ Franklin, 3 – Final Franklin fended off a big challenge from Canton in the final set to secure a 3-0 sweep (25-14, 25-16, 25-23) over the Bulldogs. Cailyn Mackintosh had 20 assists, Lindsey Tarantola recorded seven kills and Cate Roberge had a big game for the Panthers with seven aces and five kills. Sophomore Jess Wright notched 11 kills in her varsity debut for the Bulldogs while freshman Zoe Scibelli played well defensively at libero in her first match. Senior Anna Verille had a great game defensively with 16 digs to go along with four kills and an ace while Taylor Reynolds dished out 21 assists.

Mikayla Cleary led the charge with 11 kills, seven aces, and three blocks, Hayley Krockta had five kills, and Angie Lynch had a strong game at the net with three kills and two aces. Danielle Lofgren (six digs), Mia Fernandes, and Jess Foley all set the tone for the Tigers with a strong serve receive.

Golf
Canton, 145 @ North Attleboro, 160 – FinalFor the second straight match, all of Canton’s scorers broke the 40 mark, this time to get a key division win at Heather Hills. Canton’s Conor Hunter and Mike Leonetti as well as North Attleboro’s Jake Gaskin all shared medalist honors at 35. Will Gefteas added a 36 for the Dogs while Mekhala Costello and Nate MacDonald each came in with a round of 39 for Canton. Tyson Laviano added a round of 36 for the Big Red.

Sharon, 158 @ Oliver Ames, 155 – FinalOliver Ames made it three straight wins to start the season, knocking off visiting Sharon at Pine Oaks by three strokes. Jo Jo Gaultier had the low-round for the Tigers at 36 while David Rodgers added a 37 and both Braden Shapiro and Daniel Paul shot a 41. Sharon’s Nate Daly was the match medalist at 35 while Eric Carter chipped in with a 37.

King Philip, 166 @ Franklin, 171 – FinalKing Philip emerged from a key division showdown with Franklin with a close win at Franklin Country Club. Pat Reardon was the match medalist, firing a three-over round of 38 while Mike Matheson chipped in with a 42 for the Warriors. For Franklin, Corey Steel shot a 39 while Tyler O’Brien sank a birdie on the seventh hole to help finish with a round of 42.
