Senior Caden Mirliani nodded in a cross from classmate Jake McCabe minutes after the break for the only tally of the contest.

Girls Soccer
Taunton, 0 @ North Attleboro, 0 – FinalTaunton got a scoreless draw on the road at North to earn first-year head coach Dan Borges his first Hockomock point. North had a significant edge in shots but couldn’t convert any of their scoring chances, including a bid from Abi Pratt that hit the post and stayed out. Borges praised the play of Cali Melo and Christina DaCosta on the defensive end. Eighth grader Ashlyn Hebert earned her first career start and first career clean sheet in the Taunton goal.








Field Hockey
Attleboro, 6 @ Stoughton, 0 – FinalAttleboro’s Marley Young scored once and recorded three more assists to lead the Bombardiers to a win over a gritty Stoughton squad. Siobhan Landers scored a pair of first quarter goals to set the tone for the Bombardiers while Alyvia Bessette, Nora Desrosiers, and Emilie Chartier each added one. Young added a penalty stroke in the fourth quarter for the visitors. For Stoughton, Katherine Giroux had an outstanding game offensively while Morgan Groppi and Nicole Reid also had strong outings.

King Philip, 3 @ Oliver Ames, 1 – FinalKing Philip countered with three unanswered goals in the second half to take care of business on the road in Easton, earning a 3-1 decision over OA. Following a scoreless first half, the Tigers took the lead in the third quarter on a goal from Erin Cottam off a feed from Olivia Stevens. KP tied it before the end of the quarter and took its first lead going into the fourth, where they added a key insurance tally. Leah Santoro scored a pair of goals for the Warriors, Kelly Holmes added one, and sophomore Lucy Weineck added a strong all around performance in the win.

North Attleboro, 2 @ Mansfield, 0 – FinalClick here for a photo gallery of this gameA pair of second half goals and a few key saves in the final moments helped North Attleboro secure a win on the road in a competitive contest at Alumni Field. North registered 11 corners in the first half but couldn’t solve Mansfield’s defense and goalie Lily Danehy. The Rocketeers finally broke through with just under five minutes to go in the third as Francesca Spencer kept the play alive near the touchline and dropped a pass into the middle where Julia Puccio was able slide a low shot into the net. North added a key insurance goal as the clock ticked under two minutes to go in the game as Puccio got her second, finishing off an assist from Caitlin Vacher. Puccio and Rory McGinley made key stops on Mansfield corners (six total) in the final minutes to prevent a look at goal. Eman Farid (six saves) made multiple saves with a minute to go to preserve the win. Gracie Leary (two saves) and Farid combined for the shutout for North.

Milford, 0 @ Sharon, 1 – FinalClick here for a photo gallery of this gameSharon senior Alejandra Aguilar scored moments into the game and that proved to be enough as the Eagles fended off visiting Milford. Aguilar carried possession from midfield into the attack before sliding a lot shot into the back of the net just 16 seconds into the game. Sharon’s Natalie Kessler recorded the shutout in net.




Volleyball
King Philip, 3 @ Oliver Ames, 0 – FinalKing Philip bounced back from its first loss of the season with a 3-0 sweep (25-19, 25-21, 25-23) on the road over Oliver Ames. Senior middle Emily Sawyer had 11 kills, four blocks, and four aces to lead the way for the Warriors. Senior Ahunna James added six kills, three blocks, and three aces, and senior Sami Shore recorded four kills and four blocks in the win. For Oliver Ames, junior Rachel Fleischman had a standout game defensively with 15 serve receptions, 12 digs, and three aces. Maddie Homer added 25 digs, Clare Kavoulis finished with 24 assists, and Sarah Hilliard recorded 14 kills.

North Attleboro, 1 @ Mansfield, 3 – FinalClick here for a photo gallery of this matchAfter dropping the opening set, Mansfield rallied to win three straight — including a thrilling 26-24 win in the fourth set — to take down the visiting Rocketeers. Keira Fitzpatrick recorded eight digs and dished out 24 assists in a balanced attack for the Hornets. Elyssa Buchanan had 11 kills along with five digs, three aces, and two blocks, Lexie Scibilia added six blocks, five kills, and a pair of aces, and Lilly Verheggen finished with seven kills, four digs, and two aces for Mansfield.

Attleboro, 3 @ Stoughton, 0 – FinalAttleboro went on the road and prevailed in three sets against a tough Stoughton squad (25-19, 25-10, 27-25). Natalie Brojek set the offense in motion with 33 assists and had a stellar day at the service line with nine aces. Julia Leonardo (14 kills) and Addie Shelton (eight kills) led the charge offensively for the Bombardiers. For Stoughton, Patrik Oliviera and Jessie Queeney had strong defensive performances while Maya Ashu led the front row with a great offensive game.

Attleboro, 173 @ Mansfield, 155 – FinalMansfield earned its first win of the season by taking down visiting Attleboro at Norton Country Club. Senior Drew Urban and junior Cody Nieratko shared medalist honors for the Hornets, each coming in with a round of 38. Nathan McClean added a 39 in the win and Michael Creedon finished with a 40 on the day. Leo Lombardo led the Bombardiers with a team-low round of 39.

Canton, 165 @ Oliver Ames, 149 – FinalOliver Ames had six golfers come in under 40 in a key win over division rival Canton in a battle of Davenport heavyweights. Junior Sean Kearns was the match medalist, shooting a low-round of 36 to lead the way for the Tigers. Junior David Rodgers chipped in with a 37 while seniors Noah Isleib and Michael McGinnis each shot a 38 to round out the scoring for OA. For Canton, Huck McCready continued his strong start to the season with a team-best round of 39 and Brian Middleton added a 41 for the Bulldogs.

Stoughton, 1 @ Oliver Ames, 1 – FinalOliver Ames scored to take the lead in the first half but Stoughton equalized with just under 20 minutes to play and the teams split the points with a 1-1 draw. OA sophomore Luke Churchill scored on a terrific shot from distance, taking a quickly played free kick from Casey Milliken, cutting back past a defender and firing a left-footed blast to the top corner from 30 yards out.

Milford, 3 @ Medway, 4 – FinalMilford held a pair of leads in the game but Medway rallied both times, including a pair of goals in the final 10 minutes to get the win. Lucas Nalon Ribero gave the Hawks the lead off a cross from Arthur Tome, and John Borges doubled the lead off a through ball from Eduardo Santana to make it 2-0 but the hosts rallied for two goals to make it 2-2 at the break. Milford went ahead again, this time as Tome finished off a feed from Santana but Medway scored twice in the final 10 minutes to get the win.

Franklin, 2 @ King Philip, 0 – FinalFranklin scored just before halftime and then once more just before the final whistle to earn a 2-0 win, bouncing back from a setback on Friday at OA. Hansy Jacques scored for the second straight match, putting the visitors ahead in the 37th minute. Andrew O’Neill set up Noah Cain in the 75th minute to double the Panthers’ advantage.








Girls Soccer
Oliver Ames, 2 @ Stoughton, 1 – FinalOliver Ames overcame an early deficit to come away with a win and two points on the road over the Black Knights. Stoughton took the lead just five minutes into the game before the Tigers pulled level midway through the first half when Lucinda Li Cotter headed in a service from Emma Gavin. With 10 minutes to go, Mary Cross finished off a loose ball in the box after a scramble for the winner. Lynn Elhayek and Jolie Diaz both had strong games for OA.

North Attleboro, 1 vs. Braintree, 1 – FinalBraintree scored inside the opening minutes of the match but North Attleboro leveled 10 minutes later and the teams finished tied at 1-1. Trailing 1-0 under four minutes in, North’s Emma Pratt headed in a cross from Lily Adams in the 14th minute to make it 1-1.




Field Hockey
Attleboro, 8 @ Milford, 0 – FinalAttleboro junior Siobhan Landers scored a hat trick to lead the Bombardiers to a big win on the road over Milford. Landers also added an assist, Nora Desrosiers scored a pair of goals, Marley Young had one goal and one assist, Mackenzie Cooper and Taylor Henry each found the back of the net once, and Jordan Mooney recorded two assists in the win.

King Philip, 2 @ Franklin, 7 – FinalKing Philip cut the deficit down to two with a goal less than four minutes into the fourth quarter but Franklin finished with three straight goals to pull away for the win. KP took the lead less than two minutes in when senior Leah Santoro scored her first career goal and held the lead for the majority of the quarter before Franklin’s Raena Crandall (from Shaw Downing and Kaitlyn Carney) scored with a minute left to make it 1-1. Carney scored twice in the second quarter, the first unassisted and the second from Haley Wernig and Sophia Cuneo, to give the Panthers a 3-1 halftime lead, and Emily Carney (from Kaitlyn Carney) scored the lone goal of the third to extend Franklin’s lead to 4-1 going into the fourth. Junior Mara Boldy converted a pass from Kelly Holmes four minutes into the fourth to cut the deficit to 4-2 but goals from Wernig (from E. Carney), Crandall (from K. Carney), and Kaitlyn Carney iced the win. Devon Barry made eight saves in net for the Panthers while Haley Bright had a stellar performance in the cage for KP. Holmes, and seniors Avery Hayes and Maggie Murphy all played well defensively for the Warriors.

North Attleboro, 4 @ Taunton, 0 – FinalAfter a scoreless first quarter, North netted a pair of goals in the second before adding one more in each of the third and fourth quarters to take down Taunton. Julia Puccio opened the scoring with an unassisted goal with 2:56 left in the half and then recorded an assist on North’s second goal, smacking a shot off a corner that was redirected in by Caroline Folan. Folan added to North’s lead early in the third, taking a feed from Ava Spencer and using a big sweeping shot to find the back of the net. In the fourth, Spencer got her first goal of the game with Puccio getting another assist.

Oliver Ames, 9 @ Stoughton, 0 – FinalErin Cottam scored a team-high four goals and Oliver Ames entered the win column with a 9-0 decision at Stoughton. Cottam also had two helpers in the win while Megan Crabtree added a goal and two assists, and Julia Maclaine was an assist machine with four on the day. Olivia Stevens and Kayla Kenney each added two goals apiece in the win.

Sharon, 0 @ Canton, 9 – Final

Foxboro, 2 @ Mansfield, 0 – FinalAfter a scoreless first half, Foxboro finally solved Mansfield in the second half, scoring once in each of the third and fourth quarters to get the win. Mary Collins broke the stalemate midway through the third quarter, scoring at 7:32 to give the visitors a 1-0 lead. Jenny Gallagher gave the Warriors a key insurance goal at 12:07 of the fourth. Lily Danehy was excellent in net once again for the Hornets, making 14 saves.




Volleyball
Sharon, 3 @ Canton, 2 – FinalA seesaw back-and-forth battle saw Sharon emerged with a hard-fought 3-2 win (26-24, 16-25, 25-21, 22-25, 15-11) over host Canton. Zoey Scibelli, Kaitlin Bigham, and Kelly Schiavo all played well for Canton.

King Philip, 0 @ Franklin, 3 – FinalA battle between two of the best teams in the state lived up to the hype as the Panthers claimed a 3-0 (26-24, 27-25, 25-20) win in an extremely competitive and tight contest. Junior Taylor Lacerda recorded 11 kills, 11 digs, and a pair of aces for the Panthers while senior middle Rachel Taylor added six kills, five blocks, and one ace. For KP, Emily Sawyer landed 14 kills along with a pair of aces, Sami Shore added six kills and three aces, Ahunna James recorded five kills, and Olivia O’Neil chipped in with four kills and two aces.

Foxboro, 1 @ Mansfield, 3 – FinalFoxboro won an epic third set to keep the matching going but the Hornets closed it out in the next set to secure a 3-1 (25-22, 25-21, 30-32, 25-20) win in a highly competitive and entertaining match. For the Warriors, Shannon McElhinney had four aces and 16 digs, Alyssa Cloherty dished out 19 assists to go with 11 digs, and Mallorie Meyer had a strong all-around game with 10 digs, six kills, and four aces.

Taunton, 1 @ North Attleboro, 3 – FinalTaunton kept the match going with a win in the third set but North Attleboro closed it out in four, taking a 3-1 (25-19, 25-14, 22-25, 25-17) win over the Tigers. Junior setter Remi Zides dished out 20 assists and the Rocketeers had a balanced attack: freshman middle Lincoln Abramaitys recorded six kills and four solo blocks and senior middle Mariah Barbosa added nine kills and two solo blocks. Defensively, senior Avery Bitar recorded right digs for the Big Red. For Taunton, Anna Abouzied had a strong all-around game with five aces, four kills, four digs, and three assists. Megan Rose, Sadie Herry, and Mia Fernandes all played well defensively and on serve receive to keep the Tigers in the match.

Claire O’Rourke was a force at the service line with 27 service points along with 13 kills and 12 digs. Sophomore Clare Kavoulis dished out 39 assists, senior Maddie Homer had 28 digs and 21 serve receptions, and junior Sarah Hilliard landed 19 kills.

Attleboro, 3 @ Milford, 0 – FinalAttleboro went on the road and won three straight to knock off Milford (25-13, 25-22, 25-17). Natalie Brojek continued her strong start to the season with 30 assists, three aces, and three blocks. Julia Leonardo continued to pace the attack with 13 kills while Addie Shelton had a big game, notching nine kills and three aces. Sadie Whitmarsh added 13 digs and three aces in the win.

Stoughton, 0 @ Norwood, 3 – FinalShayla Ford played well in the loss for Stoughton, but couldn’t finish her chances. Mia Rivera also had a decent game in goal for the Black Knights and Sofia Issa continues to impress in the midfield.

Attleboro, 2 @ King Philip, 3 – FinalAttleboro scored a pair of second half goals to level the match but King Philip sophomore Kelly Holmes scored on a beautiful aerial shot with just over two minutes to play to give the Warriors the win. Sophomore Mara Boldy opened the scoring in the first quarter on an assist from Sydney O’Shea and then Holmes scored to make it 2-0. Emma Briggs cut the deficit in half with a third quarter goal and Sarah McMahon tied it with under six to play before Holmes deposited her shot over everyone and into the far corner off of a penalty corner. Senior defenders Haley Izydorczak and Molly Piller both played outstanding in the win.

Canton, 7 @ Sharon, 0 – Final

Foxboro, 2 @ Oliver Ames, 4 – FinalAfter trading goals in the first half, Oliver Ames’ Erin Cottam scored twice in the second half to give the Tigers a key division win over Foxboro. Junior Tyla Delamere opened the scoring with her first career goal midway through the first quarter but Jenny Gallagher responded with just over a minute left in the period to make it 1-1. Georgia Costello put the hosts ahead just over a minute into the second but Gallagher answered again just over a minute later to send the teams into the halftime break knotted at 2-2. Cottam got her first goal of the game late in the third off a feed from Lily Gaskill. Cottam tacked on a second one with 9:48 to play to secure the win. Both Gaskill and Ava Costello played well in the midfield while Olivia Stevens had a strong game on defense for the Tigers.

Franklin, 8 @ Milford, 0 – FinalFranklin scored twice in each the first and second quarters and put it out of reach with three more in the third in a win on the road at Milford. Kaitlyn Carney scored four goals and had one assist to pace the offense, getting assists from Sophia Cuneo, Ella Aldred, and Ella Mahoney while Kendall Jones scored twice in the win (one assisted by Haley Wernig). Sydney Rogan tacked on a pair of second quarter goals for the Panthers.

Mansfield, 2 @ Taunton, 2 – FinalTaunton built a two-goal lead in the second half but Mansfield struck for a pair of second half goals, including the gaming one with less than a minute to go to grab a point on the road. Jillian Edmond (from Kaysie DeMoura) broke the deadlock with a goal with just over four minutes to play in the third. DeMoura recorded her second assist by finding Caelen O’Leary early in the fourth quarter. Mansfield scored with 20 seconds left to tie the game. Em Gannon had a big game in net with 16 saves while Jasmine Lucier and Kylie Thorpe both played well.

Middles Sami Shore (11 kills, three blocks) and Emily Sawyer (10 kills) both had strong showings while Ahunna James (seven kills, five digs) played a strong all-around game. Samantha Asprelli added 12 digs and Stella Bailey recorded 18 service points and 26 assists.

Foxboro, 0 @ Oliver Ames, 3 – FinalOliver Ames took care of business on Friday evening, knocking off division foe Foxboro in straight sets (25-7, 25-13, 25-18). Junior Courtney Raymond played well in the win with eight kills and two blocks, senior Shannon Willard added 14 assists, senior Hadley Rhodes dished out 12 assists and added four kills, and sophomore Sarah Hilliard recorded 10 kills and five aces.

Sydney Gallery had one of the best performances of her career with 13 kills, seven digs, and three aces to lead the way. Anna Verille anchored the defense for the visitors with 25 digs and added an ace and a kill while Talya DeGraw turned in a strong all-around performance with nine kills, 14 digs, and an ace.

Franklin, 3 @ Milford, 1 – FinalMilford fought hard to avoid the sweep with a win in the third set but Franklin proved to be too much as the Panthers secured a 3-1 (25-16, 25-22, 20-25, 25-16) win over the Hawks. Junior Meghan Linkkila anchored the defense with 15 digs and had a strong showing at the service line with seven aces while sophomore Taylor Lacerda was nearly unstoppable at the net with 19 kills to go along with 11 digs and a pair of aces.

Mansfield, 3 @ Taunton, 1 – FinalAfter dropping the first set, Mansfield rallied to take three straight, including a vital third set, to knock off Taunton, 3-1 (22-25, 25-20, 26-24, 25-12). Christina Lydon dished out 17 assists in the win with Nicole Santos (six kills), Elyssa Buchanan (six kills), and Julia Kelly (five kills) pacing the offense.

North Attleboro, 201 @ Attleboro, 197 – Final (5 cards)Attleboro grabbed its sixth win of the season and got back to .500 with its second close win over rival North Attleboro this year. Carter Shelton and Leo Lombardo led the way after both shooting a 37, Brendan Raymond added a 39, and Dane Holske, Parker Sackett, and Jackson Sweeney all came in at 42 for the Bombardiers. Tyson Laviano led the visitors with a medalist round of 36 while Jake Gaskin added a 38.

Mansfield, 161 @ Sharon, 170 – FinalMansfield finished the week a perfect 4-0, capping it off with a win over Sharon at the Norton Country Club. After a solid showing in his varsity debut, junior Drew Urban had a hole-in-one on the seventh hole to highlight the win. Cian Goulet had a team-low round of 39, Brendan Vokey and Hunter Tang each shot a 40, and Ryan Doherty and Urban both came in with a 42.

Mansfield, 2 @ Attleboro, 0 – Final – Chris Elsner picked up his sixth assist of the season, finding Brad Eames for the opening goal just seven minutes into the game to give the Hornets the early lead. Cullin Anastasia doubled the Hornets’ lead just seconds before the halftime before off an assist from Jareme DiLirenzo. Michael Kirejczyk made five saves in net and got strong performances from Harry Braidt, Max Gurnon, Nick Hyland and Elsner in front of him. 

Canton, 1 @ Stoughton, 1 – Final – Freshman Fabio Ponce De Leon finished off a long throw in from Josh Mitchell in the first half but Canton freshman Paul Corcoran scored his first career goal to pull the Bulldogs level. 

Taunton, @ King Philip, 4 – Final – Tyler Mann scored the opening goal inside the first 10 minutes off an assist from Joe Kellett and then Mann returned the favor less than 10 minutes later, finding Kellett on a corner kick. Will Weir also scored a first half goal and Cam Mullins added a fourth for the Warriors early in the second half. 

Milford, 0 @ Oliver Ames, 2 – Final – Junior Thomas McCormick set up a goal in both the first and second halves to push OA to a key divisional win. McCormick assisted on Keegan Nutt’s goal in the first half and then McCormick set up Jack Sheldon in the second half.
Girls Soccer
Attleboro, 1 @ Mansfield, 4 – Final – Alle Bezeau, Stephanie Kemp, Jen Kemp and Katie Bongarzone all scored second half goals to give Mansfield head coach Kevin Smith his 100th career victory. Paige Medeiros scored for Attleboro. 

Stoughton, 1 @ Canton, 6 – Final – The Bulldogs created a number of chances, according to coach Kate Howarth, and had five different players score goals in the win. Meaghan Hunter scored twice for Canton, which also got goals from Hannah Link, Riley Duserick, Sarah MacQuarrie, and Sarah Connelly. Stoughton’s goal was scored by Krista Michienzi off a cross from Mia Greene. 
Foxboro, 5 @ Sharon, 0 – Final – Riley Collins scored a hat trick for Foxboro and Hannah Burns and Hailey Maling each scored once. 

King Philip, 2 @ Taunton, 3 – Final
Oliver Ames, 3 @ Milford, 0 – Final – Oliver Ames jumped out to a 2-0 lead at halftime behind goals from junior Francesca Calabraro and senior Delaney Benton. Junior Kiana Lozzi added a second half goal for the Tigers. Milford head coach Jay Mastaj said Katie Brown, Kristen Franzini and Nichole Dahlgren played well for the Scarlet Hawks.

Mansfield, 4 @ Attleboro, 1 – Final – Olivia Horn found the back of the net twice to pace Mansfield to a key divisional win over Attleboro. Caitlin Whitman and Brianna Puccia each scored once for the Hornets.

Canton, 1 @ Stoughton, 2 – Final – Angela Connelly’s goal with 2:39 left in the game lifted Stoughton to its first win over Canton in over a decade. Mia Russell scored Stoughton’s first goal.

Sharon, 0 @ Foxboro, 7 – Final – Annie McGeary scored a hat trick for the Warriors. 

North Attleboro, 0 @ Franklin, 5 – Final – Senior Samantha Jones made nine saves in net to get the shutout as Franklin bounced back from its first loss of the season. Freshman Annie Walsh scored a pair of goals while senior Kelsey McPhee, sophomore Christina Quinn and freshman Cassi Ronan each scored once. 

Taunton, 1 @ King Philip, 3 – Final – King Philip netted a pair of goals in the second half to break a 1-1 deadlock at halftime. Courtney Foley scored twice, one assisted by Christina Hathaway and one by Casie Curtin. Liz Furfari netted an unassisted goal for KP.

Milford, 25 @ Canton, 30 – Final – Canton senior Mark Clancy broke the course record time, finishing in 16:08 to beat the old record by 13 seconds. Canton’s other finishes were sophomore Jack Healey in fourth (17:09), senior Courtland Priest in sixth (17:41) Thomas Cahill in ninth (18:04) and Andrew Salvatori in 11th (18:27).

Attleboro, 50 @ King Philip, 15 – Final – King Philip took the first five spots in the race with sophomore Erin Quinn leading the way in 20:41. Erica Layne, Leia Quinn, Nicole Jutras and Brianna Aubin also finished in the top five. 

Milford, 34 @ Canton, 25 – Final – Canton’s Cat Song set a new course record (17:57), smashing the previous record (19:26) but nearly 90 seconds. Olivia Stevens finished fourth (22:13), Ally Chin finished fifth (22;21), Emily Orkin in seventh (22:35) and Margaret Polsgrove (22:54) in eighth.

Milford, 104 @ Stoughton, 122 – Final (6 holes) – Ryan Tomaso, Anthony Arcudi, Riley Lynch and Tylor Renaud were the top four finishers for the Scarlet Hawks. Eoin Doherty was the top finish for Stoughton.

Sharon, 176 @ Canton, 156 – Final – Junior Pat Duggan and sophomore Danny Powers each shot 39 for the Bulldogs, who qualified for the state tournament with the win. Junior Jackson Maffeo added a 39 and Jack Goyetch shot 41 for Canton. Sharon’s Jordan Chabot shot a team-low 39. 

Taunton, 200 @ King Philip, 203 – Final – After being tied at 159 through four cards, the match was decided on the fifth card with Taunton edging KP by three strokes. Mario Wilson and Kaynel Gonsalves each shot 39 for Taunton while Justin Proto shot a 40. For King Philip, Mickey Riley was the match medalist with a 37 and sophomore Danny McLoughlin added a 38. 

Oliver Ames, 158 @ Attleboro, 175 – Final – Steven Tasho and Brian Lambert each carded a 39 to lead the Tigers to a win. Tyler Letendre shot a 40 for Attleboro.
