Girls Hockey
Canton, 1 vs. Duxbury, 0 – FinalClick here for a Photo Gallery from this game. Audrey Koen scored the lone goal of the game, six minutes into the second period, and the Bulldogs played a strong defensive game to shut out Duxbury and hand the top seed in Div. 2 its first loss of the season. In a game that featured very few scoring chances for either team, Maya Battista’s shot from the point was deftly redirected by Koen on the edge of the crease. The tip eluded the left pad of the Duxbury goalie and snuck inside the far post. It turned out to be the only goal of the game, as Canton’s defense held the Dragons to only 15 shots and Carolyn Durand stopped them all. Canton’s defense, led by Allie McCabe, Devin Spinale, Tori Carr, and Battista, stood out to protect the lead in a physical matchup. It was the sixth straight win for the Bulldogs.
