Stoughton, 23 @ Sharon, 1 – Final (5 inn.)Sophomore Alyssa Edwards hit for the cycle to lead Stoughton to its second win over Sharon in as many days. Edwards had a single, a double, two triples, and a home run to finish a perfect 5-for-5, driving in two runs. Melody Casna also went 5-for-5 on the day, Julie Powers had three hits and Camryn Whitman smacked a two-run home run. Kerry Driscoll earned her 11th win of the season, allowing four hits and three strikeouts.

Mansfield, 5 @ Boston Latin Academy, 2 – FinalMansfield came out on fire, scoring four runs in the top of the first, and earned a win in the first of two meetings between these teams in a 24-hour span. Julia Kelly struck out 11 and scattered eight hits to pick up the win. Callie Lake, who had two of Mansfield’s six hits, led off the game with a walk. Cat Kipp followed with a single, Olivia DeTrolio walked, and Alanna Conley singled. Kelly tripled to clear the bases and make it 4-0. Boston Latin got one back in the bottom half of the inning and another in the third to cut the lead to two, but the Hornets added an insurance run in the fifth. Conley walked and moved to second on a wild pitch, before coming home on a sac bunt by Liv Madeira. The two teams will face-off again on Wednesday in Mansfield’s regular season finale.

Girls Lacrosse
Canton, 16 vs. Norwood, 8 – FinalCanton had eight different players find the back of the net to secure a win over Norwood in its second to last game of the regular season. Devan Spinale led the offense with five goals and an assist while Emily McCabe added four goals and an assist for the Bulldogs, who led 8-3 at halftime. Elyse Broderick made nine saves in net for the win.

Franklin, 14 vs. Moses Brown (RI), 7 – FinalFranklin capped its regular season by doubling up on Moses Brown the top team in Rhode Island, with a 14-7 decision. Jackie O’Neil filled in admirably in a midfield role, scoring five goals with two assists and three draw controls to lead the charge. Kate O’Rourke (two goals, two assists) surpassed 100 career goals in the win, Katie Peterson added a hat trick and one assist, and Stella Regan (one goal, two assists) had a strong game in the midfield with five draw controls. Katie Ryan and Lindsay Atkinson each added a goal in the win. Jamie Tanner and Anna Grasso both played well defensively in front of Brigid Earley (10 saves).

Boys Tennis
Franklin, 3 @ Foxboro, 2 – FinalFranklin swept both doubles matches and added another win in singles action to edge out host Foxboro. Vayshnav Malhotra won in straight sets for the Panthers’ lone singles win while senior Thomas Broyles and Tim O’Keefe didn’t drop a game in a 6-0, 6-0 first singles verdict, and sophomores Ahan Shetty and Jay Gorgas dropped just one game in a 6-0, 6-1 second doubles win. Foxboro’s Bo Canfield and Raj Jetty won at second and third singles, respectively.

Taunton @ Durfee, 4:00

Canton, 2 @ Mansfield, 3 – FinalIn a continued match from last week, Mansfield secured a 3-2 win over Canton behind a doubles sweep and one singles win. Jesse Colchamiro and Nikhil Nain earned a 6-4, 6-0 win at first doubles for the Hornets while Josh Weiner and Jacob Weiner took care of business with a 6-0, 6-2 win at second doubles. Mansfield sophomore Iniyan Karruppusami added a 6-0, 6-1 win at third singles to clinch the win. Canton senior Suraj Ramanathan capped a perfect 16-0 season with a 6-3, 7-5 win at second singles while sophomore Max Kupferman also finished the year undefeated (15-0) with a 6-3, 7-5 win at first singles.
