Kistner was dominant in the circle for the Tigers and led Taunton to its first outright Kelley-Rex division crown and second league title overall. Kistner was also selected as the Hockomock League MVP by the coaches.

“Aimee really grew as a pitcher between her junior and senior seasons,” said HockomockSports.com Managing Editor Josh Perry. “The work that she put in during the off-season was apparent right from the first pitch of the season and adding a dominant pitcher to that lineup and that defense was a recipe for success for the Tigers.”

Kistner also provided a spark at the plate, batting .480 with 13 extra base hits and driving in 30 runs this spring. The Western New England University commit also finished with a record of 16-2 in the circle with an ERA of 0.71, including a pair of shutouts against King Philip in the regular season that clinched Taunton the league title.

“Aimee had an incredible year for the Tigers, both at the plate and on the mound,” said Taunton coach Dave Lewry. “Offensively she was one of the most feared hitters in the Hock…[and] in the pitching circle, she was just as dominant

“Aimee was a huge part of our success this season, and is most certainly deserving of the Player of the Year award.”

Franklin coach Kate Fallon, whose team faced Taunton twice this season, added, “She was a dominating presence on the diamond with a remarkable skill set and great knowledge of the game…In the circle, she shows great command of every pitch, as well as fielding anything that comes through the circle.

“These awards are only given to the well-deserved and Aimee Kistner is in that category.”

Kistner is the first Taunton player to be selected for this award and the fourth pitcher in four years. She follows Milford’s Shannon Smith, North Attleboro’s Meg Colleran, and King Philip’s Kali Magane. Kistner was also an honorable mention for the award in 2015.
