Cole Hogencamp 2026 HockomockSports Boys Lacrosse Awards
Mansfield junior Cole Hogencamp has been selected as the 2026 HockomockSports.com Boys Lacrosse Player of the Year. Hogencamp was a dominant presence in the attack for the Hornets, leading them to the program’s first state title game appearance and a fourth straight Davenport division title.

“Cole can beat defenses in different ways, and he seems to perform best when the stakes are highest,” said HockomockSports.com Managing Editor Josh Perry. “He could overpower his defender to get to the cage, fire unstoppable shots from crazy angles, or pick out the right pass to take advantage of a double team. He’s grown so much over the past three years and is certainly one of the state’s best.”

Hogencamp, a Brown University commit, was tied with teammate Andrew DeGirolamo for the league lead in scoring at the end of the regular season and added another 17 points during Mansfield’s tournament run. He finished with 130 points, scoring 76 goals and dishing out 54 assists. Hogencamp was named a USA Lacrosse All-American for the second season in a row, was named the Davenport division MVP by the league’s coaches, and became the program’s all-time leading scorer as a junior.

Mansfield coach Tim Frias said, “He played best in our big games and always showed up whenever the team needed him. Cole keeps a level head in the toughest of moments and brings all his teammates to another level.”

This is the second season in a row that Hogencamp has earned this honor and it’s the third straight season that a Mansfield player has won, as Nico Smith won in 2024. Hogencamp is the third player to have won this award twice, and the first to have won twice before his senior season. Franklin’s Jack Vail (2014 and 2015) and Eric Civetti (2017 and 2018) are the other two-time winners.

Honorable Mentions: Mason Thompson (King Philip), Jason Stokes (Milford), Jake Marcell (Canton), Andrew DeGirolamo (Mansfield)

Please note that the HockomockSports.com awards are selected by our staff. They are completely separate from the Hockomock League All-Stars. Players are listed by position.

HockomockSports First Team

Finn CunninghamFinn Cunningham – King Philip – Goalie
King Philip senior goalie Finn Cunningham continued to stand tall in the cage for the Warriors this season, earning a spot on the HockomockSports.com First Team for the second year in a row. Cunningham, who is committed to Southern New Hampshire, made 204 saves, allowed only 102 goals, and stopped 66.7 percent of the shots he faced. One of the top shot stoppers in the league, Cunningham could swing momentum with a big save, made some of the toughest stops look routine, and often drew high praise from opposing coaches. He was also selected as an all-star by the Hockomock coaches. KP coach Hal Bean said, “With 605 career saves Finn has been the backbone of a stingy defense. His high level of play has kept KP in many games and his great play is a direct result of the team’s low goals against average over the last two years.”

Cole GibsonCole Gibson – Mansfield – Defense
Mansfield senior Cole Gibson has been a game-changer in defense for four years and he was a key to the Hornets completing a perfect run through league play, winning a fourth straight league title, and reaching the program’s first state title game. The Assumption University commit was a leader on the league’s stingiest defense, which allowed 130 goals in 24 games (just over five per game) including just one goal in the Final Four win. He also chipped in on the other end with nine goals and 20 assists. Gibson was selected as an all-star by the league’s coaches. Mansfield coach Tim Frias said, “Cole has such great checks from the LSM position he always knows where to be to get a quick pick and start a fastbreak. He held teams’ best midfielders to minimum points and was an integral part of the defense.”

Jake MarcellJake Marcell – Canton – Defense
Canton senior Jake Marcell returned with a vengeance this spring after missing last season and was one of the most impactful players in the Hockomock League. Marcell had the versatility to take on different matchups, using his athleticism and physicality to limit attackmen with a variety of styles, and also gave the Bulldogs a major boost in transition, often turning defense into offense with plays that covered the length of the field. Committed to play at Assumption, Marcell racked up 90 ground balls and turned his end-to-end ability into 27 goals and 38 assists for 65 points. “Jake is a game changer and, in my opinion, one of the best players in the league,” Canton coach Tommy Galvin said. “He is a shutdown defender that also helped our team offensively finishing with 65 points, which is truly unheard of for a close defenseman.”

Dillon QuinnDillon Quinn – King Philip – Defense
King Philip junior Dillon Quinn built off a breakout sophomore season and cemented himself as one of the top defensive players in the Hockomock League this spring. A talented one-on-one defender, Quinn consistently made life difficult for opposing attackmen and gave the Warriors a strong, reliable presence in the back. A Hockomock League all star, he finished with 82 ground balls and 34 caused turnovers, while also adding 11 goals and five assists, several of them coming in key moments. “Dillon plays defense with agility and speed,” King Philip head coach Hal Bean said. “He scoops a ball on the fly extremely fast and he breaks out to be an offensive threat.”

Thomas DonovanThomas Donovan – Mansfield – Midfield
Mansfield junior Thomas Donovan followed up his breakout sophomore season by becoming one of the league’s top attacking threats. With Donovan emerging as another playmaker, the Hornets had a perfect Hock campaign, won a fourth straight league title, and advanced to the program’s first state title game. The Assumption University commit scored 53 goals and added 42 assists, finishing in the top 10 in the league in scoring. Donovan was selected as an all-star by the Hockomock League coaches. Mansfield coach Tim Frias said, “Thomas is a very consistent player and a high ability to finish in and around the crease. He was the quarterback in our man up unit and provided great tenacity when we were on the ride.”

Maddock HendersonMaddock Henderson – King Philip – Midfield
King Philip junior Maddock Henderson stepped into a larger role this season and gave the Warriors’ offense another important dimension. A Stony Brook University commit and Hockomock League all star, Henderson was a dangerous option when matched up one-on-one and gave KP another reliable finisher around the cage. His increased role resulted in 57 goals and 28 assists for 85 points, helping the Warriors earn a share of the Kelley-Rex division title. “Maddock is a strong and forceful attackman who dodges very well and can also shoot with great power,” said King Philip head coach Hal Bean.

Nico SmithNico Smith – Mansfield – Midfield
Mansfield senior midfielder Nico Smith closed out his four-year varsity career by leading the Hornets to a fourth straight league title, a perfect Hock campaign, and a place in the program’s first state title game. A two-time league MVP and three-time USA Lacrosse All-American, Smith was one of the team’s top attacking threats with 46 goals and 28 assists, while also providing Mansfield with extra possessions by winning 200-of-259 faceoffs (77.2%) and chipping in on the defensive end. He was selected as an all-star by the league’s coaches. Mansfield coach Tim Frias said, “Not much to say about a three-time All-American and two-time league MVP. Nico was electric when on the field, whether it was at faceoffs, offense, or defense. He is a generational player and will be deeply missed.”

Jason StokesJason Stokes – Milford – Midfield
Milford senior midfielder Jason Stokes did it all for the Hawks this season and was one of the main reasons that they claimed a share of the program’s first league title and returned to the Div. 2 tournament. The Bates College football commit set new program scoring records. Despite drawing the attention of the opposition defense, he finished the season with 99 points, scoring 55 goals and dishing out 44 assists, and closed out his career with 283 points. Stokes was named the Kelley-Rex division MVP by the coaches. Milford coach Austin Costa said, “Jason was the key for us offensively all season. While he became an elite goal scorer over his lacrosse career, he continued to maintain his playmaking ability and set up teammates in positions that they could be successful. He was a true two-way midfielder for us and gave us everything he had this season. Jason Stokes set the standard for Milford lacrosse.”

Andrew DeGirolamoAndrew DeGirolamo – Mansfield – Attack
Mansfield senior attack Andrew DeGirolamo set new career highs in goals and points this spring, tying for the league lead in scoring in the regular season to power the Hornets to a 22-win season, a fourth straight league title, and a spot in the program’s first state title game. The University of New Hampshire football commit used his size and strength to overpower opposing defenses on his way to 58 goals and 69 assists. He moved into second place on the program’s all-time scoring chart and was selected as an all-star by the league’s coaches. Mansfield coach Tim Frias said, “Andrew has such a high lacrosse IQ and one of the toughest players to come through the Mansfield program. Andrew brought a toughness to the program and took pride with his other three attackmen for a tenacious ride and denying other teams’ offenses the ball in transition.”

Cole HogencampCole Hogencamp – Mansfield – Attack
Mansfield junior Cole Hogencamp has firmly established himself as one of the state’s top attacking threats. The two-time HockomockSports.com Player of the Year (see above), Hogencamp was tied for the league lead in points in the regular season and fired the Hornets to a fourth straight league title, a perfect Hock campaign, and a spot in the program’s first state title game. He scored 76 goals and dished out 54 assists and was named the Davenport division MVP and an All-American. The Brown University commit also broke the program’s career scoring record as a junior. A four-year playmaker in the attack, Thompson had the ability to finish chances himself or keep the offense moving by finding the right teammate at the right time. A Hockomock League all star who is committed to Post University, Thompson finished the season with 56 goals and 50 assists for 106 points, and closed his career as KP’s all-time leading scorer with 323 points. King Philip coach Hal Bean said, “Mason plays a smart game of lacrosse with pinpoint shooting accuracy. For four years, Mason has been a major part of the team’s success.”

Rocco LampasonaRocco Lampasona – Franklin – FO
Franklin senior Rocco Lampasona gave the Panthers a major boost at the X this season, helping Franklin create extra possessions and giving its offense more chances to get going. Lampasona won 197 of his 257 face-offs, a 76.7 percent success rate, and also chipped in seven goals and four assists. He added 60 ground balls and five caused turnovers, giving the Panthers another contributor in the middle of the field. “If I were to sum up Rocco in one word it would be competitor,” Franklin coach Chris Baker said. “He took every face-off personally. There were games where I would have to make the decision to pull him and put in our sophomore FOGO, who is really good as well. It would take Rocco about 30 seconds before he was standing right next to me on the sideline begging to get back in, saying, ‘I got him, coach.’ I would relent, put him back in, and true to his word, he would win. The kid was unbelievable.”

Milford coach Austin Costa said, “Anthony was the consistent and calming presence for us on the defensive side of the ball all year long. His ability to win matchups, get out in transition, and contribute offensively made him a tough player for opponents to deal with. “Oisin is another one of my defenders that impacted the game all over the field,” Canton coach Tommy Galvin said. “He is a big game player and each of his goals this year came against good teams and helped gain momentum back. He is a versatile LSM who can play both sides of the ball which is extremely rare.”

He helped Milford hold teams to 123 goals in 19 games (less than 6.5 goals per game) and was selected as an all-star by the league’s coaches. Milford coach Austin Costa said, “Dylan was our lockdown defender. We used him in all the ways you could think. He spent games coming out of the box as an LSM if that’s what the scout called for and he did that equally as well. Dylan is the player all coaches want to have, a true leader and with a willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done.”

Nikko ChiaradonnaNikko Chiaradonna – Foxboro – Defense
Foxboro junior Nikko Chiaradonna traded scoring goals for the hockey team in the winter for stopping them in the spring, bringing that same athleticism and competitiveness to the Warriors’ close defense. He also showed he could make an impact going forward, scoring twice in the Warriors’ playoff win over Pope Francis. Foxboro coach Jack Bugan said, “Nikko is a physical and vocal leader on close defense who is never afraid to step out on his opponent and apply pressure on the ball carrier. He delivers timely checks that often lead to turnovers, and he consistently wins the ground ball battles that follow. As team captain, he serves as the commander of our defensive unit, communicating constantly, holding everyone accountable, and playing a key role in our clearing game to create transition opportunities from defense to offense.”

Coach of the Year – Austin Costa, Milford

Austin Costa 2026 HockomockSports Boys Lacrosse AwardsMilford head coach Austin Costa has been named the 2026 HockomockSports.com Boys Lacrosse Coach of the Year after leading the Hawks to a share of the Kelley-Rex division title, the first league title in program history.

“Austin has raised the expectations for the Milford lacrosse program,” said HockomockSports.com Managing Editor Josh Perry. “Every year, the program has reached new milestones and, in the process, set new goals to reach. Not many people would have expected Milford to be a league champ but it’s a testament to the work that Austin put into building the team.”

Milford finished the season with a record of 14-5 and earned a home playoff game in the Div. 2 Round of 32. The Hawks set a new mark for wins in a season, going one better than they did in 2025, and added first wins over Franklin and Foxboro (in back-to-back games in April) and added impressive wins over Sharon, Canton, and North Attleboro. The Hawks improved their goal total from 2025 and allowed nearly 30 fewer goals than last season, showing the progress that they made.

Costa is the first Milford lacrosse coach to be recognized as coach of the year and fifth Milford coach in any sport, joining Brian Macchi (softball, 2013), Steve DiVitto (softball, 2017), Brian Edwards (boys soccer, 2019), and Alex Dion (baseball, 2014).

Honorable Mentions: Tim Frias (Mansfield), Hal Bean (King Philip), Jack Bugan (Foxboro)
