2013 HockomockSports Football Awards

Mansfield senior Kyle Wisnieski has been named the first annual HockomockSports.com Football Player of the Year. Wisnieski was also voted the official Hockomock League Kelley-Rex Division MVP by the league’s coaches.

Wisnieski quarterbacked Mansfield to a perfect 7-0 regular season record and then to four straight playoff wins. Wisnieski will be under center for the Hornets in the Division 2 Super Bowl on Saturday at Gillette Stadium.

The senior has a 66.3% completion through the first 12 games for a total of 2,448 yards, which shatters the Mansfield school record, the same one he set last year at 1,809. He is the all-time leader in passing yards at Mansfield High by over 400 yards.

He threw for 27 touchdowns this season with just five interceptions. He also ran for 284 yards on the season with an average of 6.6 yards per carry and three touchdowns.
