Boys Basketball
Oliver Ames, 37 @ Canton, 28 – Final – It was truly a tale of two halves with Oliver Ames winning the second half and the game on the road at Canton. The first half belonged to the Bulldogs, jumping out to an 11-7 lead through a quarter and then holding the Tigers to just one point in the second quarter to claim a 24-8 lead at halftime. Oliver Ames then flipped the script, pitching a third quarter shutout to cut the deficit down to 24-20. In the fourth, OA’s defense allowed just four points and its offense had its best quarter with 17 points to pull away from the win. Senior Drew Nickla scored eight of his 10 points in the fourth to help OA pull away while Drew Baxter had all five of his points in the final frame, including one of the Tigers’ two total three-pointers. Amari Brown led all scorers with 12 points for OA while Will Keefe hit a trio of threes to lead Canton with nine points.
