The hosts got two key points by sweeping both doubles matches as Tim O’Keefe and Jay Gorgas secured a 6-1, 7-6 (3) win at first singles while Sameen Shaik and Aiden Karlowicz grabbed a 6-1, 6-2 win at second doubles. The Panthers clinched the match when senior Vayshnav Malhotra battled a to 6-4, 6-4 win at first singles in a very well-played match with Mansfield freshman Neema Khosravani. Mansfield sophomore Iniyan Karruppusami impressed in a 6-1, 6-1 win at third singles, and sophomore Kailash Elumelai rallied for a 5-7, 6-2, 12-10 win at second singles.
Girls Tennis
Franklin, 3 @ Mansfield, 2 – Final – Franklin earned a pair of wins in singles action and added another from doubles action to edge out Mansfield on the road. Sophomore Chloe Essum rallied from a one-set deficit to secure a 2-6, 6-4, 6-4 win at first singles to clinch the win for the Panthers. Senior Sarah Schiavo earned a 7-5, 6-3 win at second singles, and Franklin’s second doubles tandem of junior Kelsey Maguire and Tanvi Shah picked up a 6-2, 6-3 win.
