Franklin, 2 vs. Nashoba, 1 – Final
13′ – Taylor Cogliano finds Kristi Kirshe who uses the outside of her right foot to score. Franklin up 1-0. Shot bounced off the far post and in.
21′ – Kirshe wins a defensive corner and the ball ends up with Cogliano. The sophomore uses her speed to get close to midfield before feeding a streaking Kirshe. Kirshe takes it almost 50 yards, beats the goalie to the right and slots it in. 2-0 Franklin.
42′ – Franklin goalie starts off the second half with a great diving save to her right to rob Nashoba’s Kaitlyn Thorogood.
66′ – Nashoba’s Kimberly Slade scores an olimpico — directly in from a corner — to cut Franklin’s lead in half. 2-1 Franklin.
80′ – The final whistle blows and Franklin win their first ever girls soccer state championship!
