Dharma Trivedi
My name is Dharma Trivedi, and I am a student-athlete at Sharon High School, where I balance academics, athletics, and leadership with a commitment to growth and service. I was fortunate to be selected as a member of the Hockomock LEAP Program. I take pride in challenging myself both in the classroom and through a wide range of extracurricular and community opportunities.
Athletics play a major role in my life and in the person I am becoming. I am a three-year member and two-year starter on the Sharon High School girls varsity basketball team, as well as an eleven-year basketball athlete and a four-year member of MT Elite Ducks AAU.
My journey has included seasons filled with injuries, low morale, and tough losses, but those challenges strengthened my leadership. I focus on keeping a positive mindset, bringing high energy, and encouraging my teammates to celebrate small wins. Whether we are down by thirty points or fighting through a tough practice, I believe that success begins with belief, attitude, and resilience.
In addition to basketball, I compete on the varsity girls spring track and field team in the one hundred meter hurdles and the four by one hundred meter relay. Our relay team earned second place at both the Hockomock League Championships and the MIAA Division Two State Championships.
I am known for showing up prepared, supporting my teammates, and elevating team culture. My coaches describe me as reliable, positive, and someone who raises the energy of the track environment.
Leadership and service are central to my identity. I serve on Student Council, act as a liaison to school administration, and volunteer at Freshman Orientation. I am President of the SODA (Student Organ Donation Advocates) Club, a member of Key Club and Keep Sharon Beautiful, and a volunteer for the Sharon Athletic Boosters.
Giving back through sports is especially meaningful to me. I mentor younger athletes at the Sharon Basketball Clinics, working with students in grades three through eight, and I support unified athletes through the Unified Basketball team. These experiences have strengthened my empathy, communication, and mentorship skills.
As a member of the Hockomock LEAP Program, I hope to continue developing as a leader, advocate, and representative of student-athletes. I am passionate about expanding opportunities for girls in sports and look forward to leading initiatives such as Women in Sports Day, where I hope to bring female professionals to share their experiences with younger athletes.
My long-term goal is to study public policy and government relations, attend law school, and pursue a career advocating for people who need support in finding their voice. I am committed to empowerment, both uplifting others and learning from the diverse lived experiences of my peers across the Hockomock League.
Across every team, classroom, and leadership role I am part of, I strive to lead with character, positivity, and purpose. I am grateful for the chance to grow as both a student and an athlete, and I am excited for the opportunities ahead.
