CLASS OF 2027

Kyla Nashawaty is a three-sport varsity student-athlete at Milford High School who leads with effort, integrity, and compassion. A varsity starter on the soccer team since her freshman year and a current junior captain on the girls’ soccer team, she also competes in basketball and softball.

Kyla was given the MVP award following her freshman and sophomore years and earned the Hockomock League Underclassmen of the Year award following her sophomore season. She played a key role in leading her team to the playoffs for the first time since 2013 during her junior year.

She has also been named a Hockomock All-Star and Eastern Mass All-Star in all three seasons. Kyla believes that strong team culture is built on respect, respect for coaches, teammates, and the shared values that bring a team together.

She strives to make every teammate feel purposeful and included, knowing that confidence and belonging elevate both individual performance and team success.

Known for her supportive leadership style, Kyla motivates her teammates by reinforcing unity, especially in challenging moments. After losses or setbacks, she emphasizes that responsibility is shared and that no individual shoulders blame alone.

She is recognized for lifting others up, setting high standards through her own work ethic, and inspiring her team to compete as a family.

Kyla hopes to create a school-wide leadership initiative that empowers student-athletes to lead with positivity, accountability, and confidence. As a junior captain with another year of leadership ahead, she looks forward to sharing what she learns with younger athletes and helping them recognize the impact they can make both on and off the field.

Academically, Kyla holds a 3.67 GPA and challenges herself with honors and AP courses. She is actively involved in Project Lead the Way, Special Olympics, Project Care Club, and Ben Speaks, a program focused on suicide prevention, student empowerment, and peer leadership.

Kyla values meaningful relationships with teachers, coaches, teammates, and classmates, and she consistently works to support others in all areas of her school community.

With aspirations to play soccer at the collegiate level, Kyla hopes to continue developing her leadership skills through the LEAP Program in preparation for life beyond high school. She aims to become not just a strong athlete, but a leader who inspires growth, unity, and confidence in others.
