RYAN MCGUIRE
Ryan McGuire is a dedicated student-athlete and community leader at Foxborough High School, known for his work ethic, maturity, and ability to elevate the people around him. He brings strong leadership experience from athletics, community service, school involvement, and real-world responsibilities.
A three-year varsity golfer and junior-year captain, Ryan has helped lead Foxboro to back-to-back Davenport Division titles. This season, he earned Hockomock League All-Star honors and qualified for the MIAA State Championship, reflecting both his competitive ability and the strong team culture he helped build. Ryan believes that trust, accountability, and pride in representing something bigger than yourself are the foundation of success. He reinforces this by reminding teammates that every stroke matters, supporting younger players through pressure situations, and keeping the team mentally focused during tough rounds.
Ryan is also a multi-sport athlete, competing in varsity basketball and previously in baseball, which has strengthened his communication skills and poise in demanding situations. No matter the sport, he leads through consistency, positivity, and high standards that influence the people around him.
One of the most meaningful parts of Ryan’s life is his long-term commitment to fighting pediatric cancer. Since 2015, he has participated in Golf Fights Cancer’s annual 100-Hole Marathon in memory of his kindergarten classmate, Danny Nickerson. Over the past decade, Ryan has raised over $100,000 for pediatric brain cancer research while using the game he loves to honor the memory of a friend. His dedication has been recognized by ESPN SportsCenter, NBC Nightly News, and the Boston Celtics’ Heroes Among Us, highlighting the impact of his service and compassion.
Academically, Ryan maintains a 4.423 weighted GPA, ranking 14th in his class while challenging himself with honors and AP coursework. He is actively involved in DECA, the Stock Club, French National Honor Society, SADD, and Environmental Science Club, and he has earned district recognition in DECA. His interests in leadership, finance, and business continue to grow through both school and extracurricular experiences.
Outside the classroom, Ryan works as a caddie at Walpole Country Club and Dedham Country & Polo Club and has served as an LPGA Pro-Am caddie. He also coaches youth basketball and referees games, helping younger athletes develop confidence and skills through patience, mentorship, and example.
Ryan’s dedication to service, athletics, and academics demonstrates his commitment to excellence and to uplifting his community. He strives to lead with integrity, support his teammates and peers, and make a meaningful difference everywhere he contributes.
