Stoughton, 1 @ Attleboro, 7 – FinalAttleboro senior Kyle Henry won 11 of the 12 faceoffs he took, helping the Bombardiers to an opening win over visiting Stoughton. Seniors TJ Infante and Aidan McKenna paced the offense with two goals apiece while Henry, Aidan Downey, and Shane Joubert each found the back of the net once. Junior Cam Littig recorded two assists and classmate Trevor Koppy made 15 saves in net.

Stoughton, 2 @ Attleboro, 3 – FinalStoughton earned wins at first and second singles, but Attleboro swept doubles play and earned a win at third singles to win the match. For Stoughton, freshman Waseem Sablon won 6-1, 6-3 at first singles while junior Erik Anderson won 6-3, 6-4 at second singles.

King Philip, 5 @ Foxboro, 0 – Final

Franklin, 5 @ Milford, 0 – FinalFranklin opened its 2018 campaign with a sweep on the road at Milford, with both of its doubles teams winning without dropping a game. Tyler DiPalma and Derek Wu swept at first singles (6-0, 6-0) while the team of Tony Calderone and Dan Angermeier won at second doubles. In singles, Rohan Herur won 6-1, 6-1 at first singles, Liam Marr took a 6-2, 6-2 decision at second singles, and Saketh Saripalli won 6-1, 6-1 at third singles.

Taunton, 0 @ North Attleboro, 5 – Final North Attleboro opened its season in style, recording a sweep at home. Senior brothers Richard Bermudez and Christian Bermudez made a splash in their debut, the former winning 6-1, 6-0 at first singles and the latter taking a 6-3, 6-1 decision at second singles. Freshman Jonah Manso won his debut 6-1, 6-0 to round out singles play. Senior Ben Pfeffer and junior Vikram Senthilakumaran won 6-1, 6-1 at first doubles while the pairing of freshman Sam Gallagher and sophomore Alex Pfeffer won 6-2, 6-1 at second doubles.

Oliver Ames, 0 @ Sharon, 5 – FinalSharon’s doubles teams didn’t drop a single game, and its three singles players combined to lose just three games in a season-opening win. The team of Max Brody and Russell Rapaport won 6-0, 6-0 at first doubles and Arie Chinnappan and Alex Aspel recorded a victory at second doubles by the same score. Fred Bondar (6-0, 6-0), Danujan Thirumavalavan (6-1, 6-1), and Ashwin Sreevatsa (6-1, 6-0) swept singles play for the Eagles.

Girls Tennis
Stoughton, 1 @ Attleboro, 4 – FinalAttleboro swept all three singles matches and picked up another win in doubles play to open the season with a victory over visiting Stoughton. Senior Torey Lussier won 6-1, 6-3 at first singles, junior Bri Aronne took a 6-2, 6-4 decision at second singles and senior Anna Nelson had an impressive 6-0, 6-1 win at third singles. Attleboro’s fourth win came from the pairing of senior Merri Piazza and Reno Danho with a 6-4, 6-4 decision at first doubles. Stoughton senior Anna Panacy and junior Jess Podesta won 6-3, 6-4 at second doubles.

North Attleboro, 2 @ Taunton, 3 – FinalTaunton won both doubles matches and took a win at second singles after an injury forfeit, picking up its first win of the season over the visiting Rocketeers. Juniors McKenzie Lucie and Samantha Martin won 6-4, 6-1 at first doubles for the Tigers while senior Amanda Pugh and junior Brianna Feurier earned a 6-3, 7-5 win at second doubles.Taunton senior Vanessa Rosa earned a win at second singles after North senior Emily Chiasson suffered an ankle injury. North senior Jordan Willis won 6-4, 6-0 at first singles and classmate Azka Siddiq won 6-0, 6-1 at third singles.

Foxboro, 4 @ King Philip, 1 – Final Foxboro picked up a pair of wins in both singles and doubles play to open its season with a 4-1 victory on the road at KP. Sophia Prinos earned a 6-3, 6-0 win at first singles while Pam Nelson took a 6-0, 6-1 decision at third singles. In doubles play, Julia Muise and Sarah Prag won 6-2, 4-6, 6-1 at first doubles while Olivia Dantona and Kendall Milender teamed up for a 6-1, 2-6, 6-2 win at second doubles. King Philip’s Meghan Sepich took a 6-3, 6-3 win at second singles for the Warriors’ lone win.

Milford, 3 @ Franklin, 2 – Final

Sharon, 4 @ Oliver Ames, 1 – FinalSharon opened its title defense with a win on the road, notching two wins in singles and two in doubles play. Junior Nupur Shukla won 6-1, 6-0 at first singles while senior Lulu Yuan won 6-0, 6-0 at second singles. The team of seniors Katie Merport and Emily Wen won 6-0, 6-1 at first doubles while senior Rithika Neti and sophomore Sophia Fein took care of business with a 6-1, 3-6, 7-6 win at second doubles. Oliver Ames sophomore Maura Kiernan won 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 at third singles.

Boys Volleyball
Milford, 3 vs. St. John’s Prep, 0 – Final Milford recorded its third straight win, and second in as many days, with a sweep (25-19, 25-19, 25-21) win over SJP. Joao Boaventura recorded six kills, three aces, and seven digs while junior Lucas Caetano dished out 19 assists in the win.
