Franklin, 69 vs. Danvers 29 – FinalFranklin turned a four point lead at the end of the first quarter (11-7) into a big advantage (35-16) at halftime. By the end of the third quarter, the Panthers were up 59-26. Paul Mahon led Franklin with 20 points, Matt Elias added 12 points and Jalen Samuels had nine points.

Mansfield, 81 @ Key West (FL), 49 – FinalThe Hornets made a splash in their first game in Florida, putting up 50 points in the first half on their way to a big win. Sam Goldberg scored 13 of his game-high 19 points in the opening quarter to pace Mansfield. John McCoy added 11 points and Kristian Conner scored 10 points in the win. Twelve different players scored in Mansfield’s win.

North Attleboro, 66 vs. Fitchburg, 51 – FinalSenior Jonny Friberg had another dominating performance as North Attleboro claimed the Lincoln Sudbury Warrior Winter Slam title. Friberg earned tournament MVP honors after scoring 20 points and hauling in 11 rebounds. He averaged 17 points and 14.5 rebounds in the two games. Chad Peterson, who was named to the all-tournament team, scored 18 points and had six rebounds. Senior Brent Doherty also had 18 points and six rebounds.

Sharon, 47 vs. Tewksbury, 58 – FinalRicardo Ripley led the Eagles with 16 points while Malik Lorquet notched his first double-double of the season with 12 points and 14 rebounds. Both Ripley and Lorquet were named to the Wilimington all-tournament team.

Stoughton, 67 vs. Boston Latin Academy, 70 – FinalStoughton junior Cam Andrews tied a career-high with 24 points as the Black Knights fell just short to BLA. Cam Gomes added 16 points for the Black Knights.

Taunton, 59 @ Durfee, 50 – Final

Girls Basketball
Attleboro, 68 @ Cranston East, 51 – FinalAttleboro wins the Cranston East Holiday Tournament title.

King Philip, 65 vs. Tiverton, 24 – FinalShannon O’Connor and Sophia McLaughlin, who hit four threes, each scored a team-high 13 points for the Warriors. Julia Leroux added 12 points to help pace the offense. “We shot the ball very well tonight,” KP head coach Marty Crowley said. Warriors advance to face Ponaganset in the tournament final at 6:45 on Thursday night.

Mansfield, 40 @ Duxbury, 36 – FinalMansfield built a double-digit lead, up 33-21, through three quarters and held on in the fourth quarter to win the Duxbury Holiday Tournament final. Jen Peel and Ann Maher each had a team-high 14 points for the Hornets.

North Attleboro, 54 vs. Westwood, 46 – FinalAshley Ahern led the Rocketeers with 17 points. North Attleboro will play host Hingham in the final of the holiday tournament on Friday at 7:30.

Sharon, 52 vs. Holliston, 47 – FinalSophomore Emma Eberhardt paced Sharon with a team-high 19 points while junior Shira Stoller chipped in with 14 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks as the Eagles picked up their third win.

Stoughton, 53 vs. Wellesley, 70 – Final Freshman Shyanne Trinh scored a team-high 20 points for the Black Knights while junior Val Whalen chipped in with 16 points and six blocks.

Hockey
Attleboro, 5 vs. Bellingham, 3 – Final

Canton, 2 vs. Coyle & Cassidy 1 – Final (OT)Jackson Maffeo opened the scoring for the Bulldogs in the second period but Coyle answered back with only seconds left in the period. The game went to overtime where Bubba McNeice scored two minutes in to seal the victory for Canton in the Gormley Cup at Gallo Arena. The game counts as a 1-1 tie in the overall record.

Foxboro, 4 vs. Norton, 5 – Final

Franklin, 3 @ Mount St. Charles, 5 – Final

Mansfield, 1 vs. Norwood, 2 – FinalMatt Farragher scored a power play goal in the second period to tie the game but Norwood scored an early third period goal to get the win.

North Attleboro, 3 vs. North Smithfield 1 – FinalNorth Attleboro jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period on its way to a win over North Smithfield. Junior Drew Wissler opened the scoring and senior Zach McGowan made it 2-0. North Smithfield cut into the lead late in the first period but Jason McNeany put Big Red ahead 3-1 on an assist from Will Yeomans in the second period.

Taunton, 1 @ Stoughton, 1 – FinalStoughton took a 1-0 lead into the third period off a goal from Sean Doherty but Taunton’s Cam Carnes scored the equalizer in the final period.

Wrestling
Lowell Holiday Tournament (Canton, Foxboro, Franklin, Stoughton) – Foxboro’s Matt Kelley had the best finish in the tournament, coming in third at 132. Foxboro’s Brian Kelley (138) was fifth and Matt Mullally (160) was eighth overall. The Warriors finished in 12th overall as a team with 111.5 points. Franklin’s Jordan Carlucci (106) finished fifth and TJ Remillard (126) came in sixth as the Panthers finished 17th with 94.5 points. Canton was 34th with 53 points and Stoughton was 61st with 27 points.

Marshfield Tournament (Mansfield, North Attleboro, Oliver Ames, Sharon) – North Attleboro had a pair of winners en route to a fifth place finish as a team with 162.5 points. Nick Gould picked up a 6-3 win in the 152 final and Brad White earned a pin in the second period to win at 220. The Rocketeers also got placements from Brady Folan (106), who finished third, Mattuez Kudra (195) and John Kummer (285) each in seventh and Zach Gould (138) in eighth. Mansfield was 14th overall with five wrestlers coming in the top eight. Antonios Sevastos (106) came in second, Vinnie Holmes (170) came in fourth, George Glaropoulos (152) came in fifth and Will Stratton (126) and Jayden Curley (160) each came in seventh. Oliver Ames was 19th with 69 points, led by a second place finish by Liston Funai (132). Eric Berardi (152) and Billy Tat (170) each came in eighth. Sharon’s Yosef Ellis-Rech was fourth in the 126 bracket.

Marco Antunes set up Lucas’ first goal, sending in a cross for Lucas to finish with a volley. Brian Peoples sent Lucas in on a through ball for the second goal and Lucas completed his hat trick by cleaning up a rebound. Stoughton head coach Aaron Salter noted the strong play of Tyler Melo and Luis Nascimento. Foxboro sophomore Shane VandenBoom score the lone goal for the Warriors.

Sharon, 1 @ North Attleboro, 1 – Final – Sharon took a 1-0 lead into the halftime break after going ahead in the 20th minute but the Rocketeers found the equalizer in the second half. Leo Charlebois tied the game in the 63rd minute after Jeff Gale – in his varsity debut – set it up with a hustle play to force a turnover.

Oliver Ames, 1 @ King Philip, 2 – FinalColby Koch scored off an assist by Jack Bush and Larsen Keys scored from a Tyler Mann assist to give KP a 2-0 lead at halftime. James Gillespie pulled one back late for OA on an assist by Matt Campbell, but the Warriors hold on to stay unbeaten.

Girls Soccer
Stoughton, 1 @ Foxboro, 3 – Final

North Attleboro, 4 @ Sharon, 0 – Final – North Attleboro junior Haley Guertin netted a hat trick to pace the Rocketeers’ offense on Friday. Ashlyn Gaulin also scored for Big Red while Aine Mendonca and Emma Gaulin each notched an assist.

King Philip, 0 @ Oliver Ames, 3 – FinalThe Tigers got goals from Lauren Wright, Gabi McLaughlin, and Abby Reardon in the win.

Volleyball
Oliver Ames, 3 @ Attleboro, 1 – Final Oliver Ames’ Bridget McCarthy recorded her 1,000th assist in the win, becoming the first Tiger to do so in program history.

Sharon, 0 @ Canton, 3 – Final – Canton notched a 25-18, 25-15, 25-18 sweep in what head coach Pat Cawley called a total team effort. Cassie Loftus led Canton with six kills and three blocks and Casey Shea added five kills and four blocks. Malia Claiborne had four aces and Maria Mackie added three aces and played well at the net. Sharon junior Jess Allan led the Eagles offense with 13 kills, senior Natalie Kane added six kills and two block kills and senior Faythe Gomolka had 13 assists from her setting position.

Foxboro, 0 @ Milford, 3 – Final

Franklin, 1 @ Mansfield, 3 – Final – Mansfield won the opening set but dropped the second to the visiting Panthers. However, the Hornets bounced back with two straight set wins to earn the match win, 25-10, 23-25, 25-16, 25-18. Mansfield’s Jacey Anderson had 18 service points, Anna Kemp had 19 service point and Jess Haradon played great defense and had 26 digs. Erin Skidmore led Franklin with 11 kills, two aces and 18 digs while Lauren McGrath had 18 assists, five digs and two aces and Meaghan Maguire added three blocks

Stoughton, 0 @ North Attleboro, 3 – Final – Stoughton sophomore Molly Turner tallied 10 assists and head coach Erica Batchelder said Turner was a dominant presence at the net.

Taunton, 0 @ King Philip, 3 – Final – King Philip pulled out a close win in the first set and went on to pick up a sweep, 25-23, 25-17, 25-11. Carly Adams had 19 service points to lead KP and added 16 assists, Sydney Phillips paced the offense with 11 kills, Amanda Loewen added nine digs and Elise Pereira chipped in with four digs.

Field Hockey
Attleboro, @ Mansfield, 8 – Final

Sharon, 1 vs. Norwell, 0 – Final Sarah Schultz scored the lone goal of the game to lead the Eagles to their first win of the season.

Stoughton, 2 @ Brockton, 2 – FinalMia Russell and Kelly Joyce scored for Stoughton.

Taunton, 1 @ New Bedford, 3 – Final

Golf
Oliver Ames, 143 @ King Philip, 160 – Final Brady Allbritton was the match medalist, shooting a round of 34 to lead Oliver Ames. Sebastian Ladoulis led King Philip with a 37.

Canton, 172 @ Sharon, 178 – Final Bubba McNeice earned his first match medalist honor of the season, carding a round of 42 to lead the Bulldogs. Matt Minichiello and Jack Goyetch each shot 43 and Joey Vaughan added a 44. Max Brody and Russ Rapaport each shot 44 for the Eagles.

Stoughton, 4 @ Norwood, 3 – FinalFor the second time in as many days, Stoughton had a player record a hat trick. Loubensky Lucas netted his first hat trick of the season, a day after he scored a pair of goals and classmate Jordan Asnes recorded a hat trick against Milford. Sophomore Fabio Ponce De Leon opened his account on the season, putting Stoughton ahead 1-0 in the 10th minute of a feed from Asnes. Ponce De Leon set Lucas up a minute later for a 2-0 lead. Stoughton added two goals early in the second half as Lucas took a pass from Tyler Melo and finished from inside the area and then scored on a penalty kick a minute later.

Girls Soccer
Stoughton, 2 vs. Norwood, 2 – Final – Freshman Abby Kashian and junior Emerson Sprague each scored for the Black Knights while head coach Tara Daniels said Gabby Diaz, Sarah Widrow, and Isabel Solem helped Stoughton keep possession throughout the game.

Volleyball
Attleboro, 0 @ Mansfield, 3 – FinalThe Mansfield Hornets picked up a comfortable win at home, emerging with a 25-8, 25-12, 25-14 win. Meg Hill led Mansfield with 12 kills while Julia Harrison added nine kills. Chloe Peters had 19 service points, and Anna Kemp and Jolie O’Neil each had seven service points for the Hornets.

Canton, 3 @ Milford, 0 – Final – It might have been on a sweep, but it was a tight battle between Davenport foes Canton and Milford. Canton came away with a 25-16, 25-16, 25-22 win. “Both sides fought hard and played great defense,” Canton head coach Pat Cawley said. Canton outside hitter Hannah Jerrier led the Bulldogs with seven kills and Erika Lum had six kills and 13 digs. Middles Emma Murphy and Casey Shea each had four kills and combined for 10 blocks. “We played our best team defense of the year,” Cawley said, led by libero Julia Panico with 24 digs and aided by Emily Lynch and Maria Mackie, who combined for 17 digs.

Foxboro, 2 @ Stoughton, 3 – Final – Stoughton and Foxboro battled back and forth but the Black Knights shut the door with an emphatic 15-2 win in the fifth and final set. Stoughton junior Val Whalen led the Black Knights offense with 20 kills while senior Christina Gelin dominated the back row with 41 digs. Senior Riley Bagley added 20 digs for Stoughton.

Sharon, 1 @ North Attleboro, 3 – Final – For Sharon, junior Jess Allan led the offense with eight kills and two aces, senior Natalie Kane had 12 blocks and three kills and setters Faythe Gomolka and Arianna Chabot combined for 15 assists. Chabot also went 16 for 16 at the service line.

Franklin, 3 @ Taunton, 0 – Final – Franklin earned its third straight sweep, beating Taunton on the road. Maddie Kuzio had five aces and four digs, Lizzie Boynton had seven assists and four aces and Erin Skidmore had five kills, five digs and a pair of aces and blocks in the win.

Field Hockey
Oliver Ames, 3 @ Attleboro, 0 – Final – Cristina Boudreau and Kayla Lozzi each scored a goal and added an assist as Oliver Ames blanked Attleboro on the road. Kayla Lozzi and Liz Nuss each scored once while Rachel Stryke registered an assist.

Sharon, 0 @ Canton, 6 – FinalJulia Ezepik registered a hat trick to pace Canton’s offense in the win.

Foxboro, 5 @ Milford, 0 – FinalLily Daly scored a pair of goals and had a pair of assists to lead the Warriors. Foxboro jumped out to a 3-0 lead by halftime behind both of Daly’s goals – one off an assist from Emma Daly, the other unassisted. Sophia DiCenso also scored in the first half on an assist from Lily Daly. Jenna Stamatov and Carlie Stern scored one for Foxboro and Caroline Wheatley added an assist.

Franklin, 0 @ Mansfield, 0 – Final – Franklin head coach Lisa Cropper had high praise for sophomore goalie Christina Lucini, who made 12 saves to earn the shutout. “She was outstanding,” Cropper said. Cropper also lauded the effort of senior Maddie Derby, who she called “a stalwart on defense,” which included a defensive save behind Lucini.

Stoughton, 0 @ North Attleboro, 0 – Final – Stoughton’s Gianna Barbosa and North Attleboro’s Liz Morehouse earned the shutouts in goal.

North Attleboro, 175 @ Foxboro, 178 – Final

Canton, 159 @ Stoughton, 181 – Final – Canton picked up another key division match win over Stoughton, led by match medalist Matt Minichiello’s 37. Jack Goyetch added a 40 while Jackson Maffeo, Joey Vaughan and Bubba McNeice each shot 41. Stoughton’s Josh Roos and Brendan Campbell each carded a round of 44 for the Black Knights.

Milford, 153 vs. Hopedale, 160 – Final – Ryan Tomaso shot a 34, Anthony Arcudi added a 38 and Tylor Renaud carded a 39 to lead the Scarlet Hawks.

Taunton, 73 @ New Bedford, 59 – Final (Stableford scoring)
