Foxboro, 58 @ Canton, 46 – FinalFoxboro opened the second half with an 8-0 run, doubling its lead in the process, and never looked back in a win on the road over Canton. Foxboro’s slim (13-10) lead after eight minutes grew to 25-17 by the halftime break, and its strong start to the third quarter pushed the advantage to 16 and the Warriors never surrendered their advantage, carrying a 42-26 lead into the fourth. Junior Dylan Gordon scored 15 of his 17 points in the middle quarters while sophomore Alex Penders recorded 13 of his 17 points in the second half. Sam Golub had a strong night from downtown, hitting four three-pointers for 12 points for the Warriors. Eric Mischler led Canton with 13 points while classmate Ryan Connerney added 12 points.

Milford, 32 @ Attleboro, 59 – FinalAttleboro’s defense limited the visiting Scarlet Hawks to single digits in the scoring column in each of the four quarters to earn a big win. The Bombardiers held a 10-7 lead after one quarter of action but had a successful second quarter on both ends of the court to seize a 28-16 halftime lead. Junior Evan Houle set a new career-high with 20 points, including 14 points in the first half. Houle added two more threes in the third as the Bombardiers saw their lead balloon to 41-23. Sophomore Trevor White added 12 points in the win.




Girls Basketball
Attleboro, 71 @ Taunton, 49 – FinalIt was just a four-point game after one, but Attleboro used a 22-8 second quarter to break it open and pick up the road win. Meghan Gordon had a monster game for the Bombardiers with 27 points and 11 rebounds. Emma Reilly chipped in with 15 and freshman point guard Narissa Smith added seven points and eight assists. Sonya Fernandez had a big game for the Tigers, scoring 21 points in the loss. Kristy Gorman and Kyanna Barros both scored six points for Taunton.

North Attleboro, 37 @ Oliver Ames, 65 – FinalClick here for a Photo Gallery from this game. With the win, OA clinched at least a share of the Davenport division title. The Tigers can now win it outright with a victory in either of its final two games. Caroline Peper paced OA with 15 points and five steals and Kelsey Yelle added 10 points. The Tigers also got great performances from their trio of freshmen – Kaydance Derba (10 points and five rebounds), Sarah Hilliard (nine points and five rebounds), and Jasmyn Cooper (six points, eight rebounds, and five assists). OA used a 14-2 to grab a nine-point lead after one and then scored 20 in the second quarter to lead by 20 at halftime. North got no closer than 17 points in the second half. The Rocketeers were shorthanded with leading scorer Amanda Kaiser among the players out on Wednesday, but Ava McKeon picked up the scoring slack with a team-high 14, including seven in the first. Cailyn Maxcy added 10 points and Taylor McMath had six.

King Philip, 4 @ Canton, 2 – FinalKing Philip goalie Mallory Johnston made 24 saves as the Warriors snapped Canton’s 19-game unbeaten streak, dating back to January 2020. KP took a 1-0 lead in the first period and added two more in the second period to build a 3-1 lead. Avari Maxwell had two goals for KP while Kelly Holmes and Sydney O’Shea each had a goal and two assists in the win.

Boys Basketball
North Attleboro, 49 @ Canton, 51 – FinalNorth Attleboro nearly erased a 21-point deficit but saw it’s comeback attempt come up just short at the buzzer when it’s attempt at the game-winning three went in-and-out. Canton got off to a great start, staking a 17-5 lead through eight minutes and pushing it to 31-16 at halftime. The Bulldogs looked to be in full control when they carried a 49-28 edge into the fourth but the game completely changed in the final frame. The Rocketeers limited Canton to just two points and its offense came to life. Tommy Onorato hit a pair of threes and scored eight of his 10 points in the fourth and Brody Rosenberg scored six of his team-high 16 points to help North Attleboro rally to get back within two. North got one final stop and launched a deep three at the buzzer but the ball went in-and-out and Canton held on for the win. Steven Burbank scored all 11 of his points in the first half while Ryan Connerney (14 points), Will Keefe (nine points), and Eric Mischler (13 points) all connected from downtown in the third to help Canton build its big lead.

Stoughton, 72 @ Sharon, 53 – FinalStoughton had its best offensive outing of the season with nine players finding the scoring column, including four players in double figures. The Black Knights jumped out to a 19-10 lead after a quarter, adding 15 points in each the second and third quarters, and pulled away for good with a 23-point fourth quarter. Brett Pendenza and Waseem Sablon each hit four three-pointers and finished tied for the team-high in points with 14 each. Connor Andrews added two threes of his own and finished with 12 points while Jake Queeney added a pair of threes and a total of 10 points for the Black Knights, who led 34-22 at halftime. Sharon’s Matt Baskin had a game-high 19 points along with nine rebounds while sophomore Matt Baur added 15 points and five boards.

Mansfield, 58 vs. Plymouth North, 38 – Final Mansfield established a double-digit lead by the end of the first quarter and never looked back in win over non-league foe Plymouth North. The Hornets jumped out to a 20-9 lead and then limited the visitors to just two points in the second as the advantage ballooned to 30-11 by halftime. Mansfield kept its large lead going into (47-27) and throughout the final quarter. Senior Matt Boen scored nine of his game-high 25 points in the opening quarter and added two more threes in the second. Jack Colby added nine points for the Hornets, who had nine players score.




Girls Basketball
Canton, 51 @ Stoughton, 35 – FinalIn a game that both offenses took a while to get going, a strong defensive first half proved to be decisive for the Bulldogs. Canton held Stoughton scoreless in the opening quarter and to just eight points in the first half. The Bulldogs scored 20 to take a double-digit lead at the break, led by Fay Gallery, who scored 10 of her game-high 19 in the first half. Things remained tight in the third quarter as the teams combined for 16 points and Canton went into the fourth leading 29-15. After a struggle to score for 24 minutes, the teams exploded in the fourth, combining for 42 points in the final eight minutes. Gallery scored nine in the quarter and Kiara Cerruti added seven of her 13 points. Samya DaSilva added seven, including four points in the fourth. Makaiyah Singleton Rivera paced the Black Knights with a team-high 13 points, including seven in the final quarter. Kate Bulger scored eight points and knocked down a pair of threes in the fourth.

Oliver Ames, 62 @ North Attleboro, 33 – FinalOliver Ames built a double-digit lead by halftime and then pulled away by holding the Rocketeers to just 13 points in the second half. Caroline Peper led a balanced scoring attack for the visitors while Hailey Bourne chipped in with 10 points and Caroline Flynn finished with eight points. Amanda Kaiser scored 12 points in the loss and was helped by Cailyn Maxcy’s seven points and six from Ava McKeon.

Liam Anastasia had a goal and assist and Chris Hormann made 14 saves in the shutout, as the Hornets earned their first division win of the season. Brayden Purtell opened the scoring with 6:29 left in the first, when he tapped in a loose puck at the far post. It stayed a one-goal game until 10:50 left in the second when Mark DeGirolamo added an unassisted goal. Late in the third period, Anastasia stole the puck in the corner and played a pass across the crease to Kyle Oakley at the far post to make it 3-0. He added an empty net goal in the final minute to seal the win. Aidan Diggin nearly got Attleboro back into the game in the second period but had a breakaway effort come back off the post and and then struck the crossbar with a shot early in the third. Nick Piazza made 35 saves in the loss.

Taunton, 2 @ King Philip, 9 – FinalJunior Shaun Fitzpatrick scored a hat trick and freshman Brad Guden added two goals a the Warriors skated to a win over visiting Taunton. Junior Sean Crowther registered four assists in the win while senior Shea Cunningham picked up three helpers.

Boys Basketball
Milford, 34 @ Mansfield, 62 – FinalMansfield used a strong second half on both ends of the floor to pull away from the Hawks. The Hornets led by double digits in the first half before the Hawks closed the gap, going into half down 29-22. Mansfield’s defense clamped down, allowing just four points in the third quarter to take a 43-28 lead. Senior Jack Colby scored 13 of his career-high 17 points in the first half to lead the way for the Hornets. Matt Boen added 15 points and Chris Hill chipped in with 10 points for Mansfield.

Girls Basketball
Mansfield, 64 @ Milford, 33 – FinalThe Hornets picked up a second win in as many days. Abby Wager had a career-high 20 points for Mansfield, while Ashley Santos added 11 and Sarah Dooling had 10. Brooke Ferreira was Milford’s top scorer with eight points.

North Attleboro, 58 @ Sharon, 26 – FinalNorth Attleboro used a big third quarter to pull away and secure a second win in as many days against the Eagles. Leading 25-13 at halftime, the Rocketeers scored 23 points in the third quarter to break the game open. For the second straight day, four North player finished in double digits. Amanda Kaiser was the top scorer with 15, Taylor McMath had 12, Siobhan Weir had 11, and Cailyn Maxcy had 10 in the win.

Franklin, 3 @ Attleboro, 1 – FinalJunior Christian Shabbick scored his first career goal and added an assist to help the Panthers sweep the season series against Attleboro. Shabbick set up Ben Jarosz for a first period goal and Justin Magazu (from Pat Dolan) added a second as Franklin claimed a 2-1 lead after a period. Shabbick extended the visitors’ lead with a goal assisted by Justin Abely in the second period. Attleboro goalie Nick Piazza made 35 saves in net.

Girls Hockey
Canton, 7 vs. Boston Latin, 1 – Final – Canton scored seven goals against Boston Latin for the second straight game. Lizzie Tassinari and Maria Femia each scored twice for the Bulldogs.

Boys Swimming
Attleboro, 99 @ Taunton, 67 – FinalAttleboro earned a win over the Tigers in a virtual meet, swimming three days apart. The team of Matt Marcil, Ben Connors, Ryan Connors, and Colton Mangion won the 20 medley relay for the Bombardiers while Zach Dorrance, Brady Dumont, Dylan Nisbet, and Alex Harrop won the 400 free relay. Marcil (50 free), Ryan Connors (100 free, 100 back), and Ben Connors (500 free, 100 breast) all had individual wins for Attleboro.

Attleboro, 87 @ Taunton, 73 – FinalNatalia Kotnisz, Sydney Dorval, Brenna O’Connell, and Ella Lynch-Bartek each won individual races and the Bombardiers’ 400 free relay touched first in a win over Taunton. The team of Kelly Neuendorf, Corinne Blaisdell, and Eleanor Graber won the 400 free relay for Attleboro. Kotnisz won the 200 free, Dorval was first int he 200 IM and second in the 100 fly, O’Connell finished first 50 free, and Lynch-Bartek was first in the 100 back and second in the 100 free.

Attleboro, 44 @ Franklin, 60 – Final Franklin established a lead after a quarter, built on it by halftime, and pulled away with a dominant third quarter to avenge its loss to Attleboro. The Panthers were up 31-20 at the halftime break before winning the third quarter, 20-4, to put the game away. Declan Walmsley (13 points) hit a pair of threes in the third, Andrew Byfield (11 points) added five points and both Jake O’Brien and Zach Harvey added four as the Panthers took a 51-24 lead into the final frame.

Oliver Ames, 51 @ Stoughton, 47 – FinalOliver Ames senior Drew Nickla beat the shot clock with a spinning shot in the lane with just over a minute to go and the Tigers hung on for a win over the Black Knights. Nickla scored eight of his career-high 20 points as the Tigers raced out to a 21-6 lead through eight minutes, and carrie a 29-17 advantage into halftime. OA led by 10 (42-32) going into the fourth but a late 7-0 run from the Knights made it a two-point game in the final minutes, setting up Nickla’s big basket. Amari Brown added 11 points for OA in the win. Brett Pendenza scored a team-high 18 points for Stoughton while KC Ugwuakazi chipped in with 10 points.

Mansfield, 74 @ Milford, 36 – Final After a close first quarter, Mansfield extended its lead to double-digits by halftime and never looked back in a win over Milford. The Hornets held a slim 10-8 lead after a quarter, pushed the advantage to 30-16 at halftime, and went off for 22 third quarter points for a 52-30 edge going into the final frame. Senior Matt Boen led the way with a team-high 30 points, five rebounds, four assists, and two assists, junior Chris Hill added 15 points, five rebounds, and four steals, and senior Brendan Foley finished with 10 points.

King Philip, 55 @ Taunton, 84 – FinalTaunton’s offense was too much too handle for the visiting Warriors as the Tigers scored 40 first half points and exploded for 29 points in the third quarter to pull away. The Warriors kept pace with the hosts through the first eight minutes, trailing by just two, 21-19, after the first. Taunton’s offense kept rolling with 19 more points in the second for a 40-28 lead at halftime before its 29-point third made it 69-43. Junior Trent Santos scored 10 of his team-high 18 points in the third. Tyler Stewart added 16 points, Josh Lopes finished with 13 points, Nigel Choate chipped in with 11 points and Danny MacDougall scored 10 points for Taunton. Sophomore Will Laplante led KP with a game-high 20 points.










Girls Basketball
Franklin, 47 @ Attleboro, 28 – FinalFranklin closed out is second straight unbeaten regular season with a sweep of the Bombardiers. Olivia Quinn led the Panthers in all 10 games this season, including 16 points against Attleboro. Elizabeth Wilson, who recently committed to Endicott College, chipped in with nine points for the Panthers.

Sharon, 22 @ North Attleboro, 65 – FinalNorth celebrated senior night with a strong defensive performance and a big win. All four seniors hit double digits for the Rocketeers. Amanda Kaiser led the way with 19, including 12 in the opening quarter. Lydia Santos added a dozen, Siobhan Weir had 11 points, and Cailyn Maxcy scored a career-high 10. North led 40-16 at halftime, but allowed only six points after the break and North coach Nikki Correia praised her team’s pressure defense for creating easy baskets on the other end of the floor.

Milford, 41 @ Mansfield, 61 – FinalAll 10 Hornets scored for Mansfield on Thursday, as the Hornets pulled away for a big win. Olivia Salisbury scored nine point to pace Mansfield, while Abby Wager and Kayla Vine each scored eight points. Jillian Michelson was Milford’s top scorer with 10 points.

Boys Hockey
Stoughton, 1 @ Oliver Ames, 2 – FinalOliver Ames avenged its loss to the Black Knights on Wednesday evening with a 2-1 win on Thursday afternoon. Freshman Jack Corey scored his first career goal while classmate Andy Livingstone scored the game-winner late in the third for the Tigers.

North Attleboro came out flying, scoring the game’s first 23 points, and rolled to its first win of the season. Amanda Kaiser scored 19 points and grabbed four steals and Summer Doherty had 11 points and four steals in the win. Nine players scored for North, including nine points from Cailyn Maxcy and seven from Abby Camelio. Kate Bulger and Cate Downey each scored four points for the Black Knights, who were playing their season opener after two weeks off and with only one practice before the game. The two teams will square off again on Thursday night.
