#4 Mansfield, 60 vs. #1 Catholic Memorial, 78 – Final – Nick Baskin led Mansfield with 15 points, Max Boen added 13 points and four rebounds, Christian Weber had nine points and Tyler Boulter chipped in with nine points.
Girls Basketball
D2 South Semifinal
#2 Oliver Ames, 56 vs. #3 Falmouth, 40 – Final – Francesca Calabraro scored a team-high 16 points, including 10 in the third quarter, to lead the Tigers to the Div. 2 South final. Kayla Raymond added 12 points and nine boards. Sam Bamford had eight points for OA and Kaitlyn McCarthy and Hannah Carroll each had seven. OA will face Hingham in the Div. 2 South final on Saturday at 12 p.m. at Durfee High.
Hockey
D1 South Semifinal
#4 Franklin, 3 vs. #8 Newton North, 0 – Final – Junior Joey Blasie scored a pair of goals and sophomore Luke Downie had an assist and an empty net goal to lead the Panthers. Franklin will play the winner of Marshfield and Natick on Sunday in the Div. 1 South final at Gallo Arena at 6:30 p.m.

Wednesday’s Schedule & Scoreboard – 03/02/16

Boys Basketball
D1 South

#4 Mansfield, 75 vs. #13 New Bedford, 51 – Final – Sam Goldberg scored a game-high 16 points and hauled in 11 rebounds as Mansfield battled back from a first quarter deficit. Matt Ehrlich added 13 points, including 12 in the vital second quarter rally. Christian Weber added 12 points and Nick Baskin chipped in with 10 points. 

#7 Taunton, 83 vs. #10 Plymouth South, 54 – Final – Jose Mercado scored 28 points in just three quarters of play because of foul trouble to lead the Tigers. Along with Mercado’s 28 points, junior Quan Roberson had a double-double with 16 points and was a big factor on the boards with 10 rebounds. Carlos Borrero and Tommy MacLean each had 10 points while they combined for 13 assists. Brevan Walker and Lens Esquil combined for 15 points off the bench.
D2 South
#3 Foxboro, 68 vs. #14 Nauset, 53 – Final – Foxboro grabbed a lead after the first quarter, grew it by halftime and stretched it to as much as 20 points in the second half. Senior Jason Procaccini scored a team-high 15 points while classmates Rob Lowey added 15 points and Jonathan Carnino had 11 points.

#15 Sharon, 52 @ #2 Whitman-Hanson, 54 – Final – Sharon used a full court press to come back from a double-digit first half deficit and take its first lead, 50-49, with 2:25 to play. The Eagles were unable to take the lead in a tie game and the Panthers sank two free throws with 0.2 seconds left to get the win. Mitchell Sirota led Sharon with career-high 17 points and Tyler Smith added 11 points.

Boys Basketball
Mansfield, 64 @ Attleboro, 52 – Final – Mansfield clinched a share of the Kelley-Rex title with the win. The Hornets have won four straight Kelley-Rex titles and sixth in the last seven years. Sam Goldberg had 12 points and seven rebounds, Christian Weber added 11 points and six assists and Max Boen had nine points and five assists. Mansfield head coach Mike Vaughan won his 200th career game. 

Canton, 48 @ Milford, 71 – Final – The Scarlet Hawks won their fifth game in the last six to clinch a playoff berth. Dimitry Torres led Milford with 23 points while Dwight Anderson added 16 points, Jack DeSantis chipped in with a career-high 10 points and Josh Andonian finished seven points. Canton freshman Devin Foster had a career-high 16 points and sophomore Tony Harris added 15 points.

Sharon, 73 @ Foxboro, 84 – Final (OT) – Jason Procaccini scored a game-high 24 points as the Warriors held on after a rally from the Eagles. Rob Lowey added 14 points while Alex DuBrow, Jonathan Carnino and Mark Clagg all chipped in with 10 points apiece. 

Franklin, 77 @ North Attleboro, 39 – Final – Freshman Jay Dieterle dropped in a team-high 19 points as the Panthers claimed their first league title since 2012. With the win, Franklin won a share of the Kelley-Rex title with Mansfield. Sophomore Connor Peterson had 12 points and senior Tim Prunier added 10 points.

Oliver Ames, 74 @ Stoughton, 55 – Final – Junior Carter Evin scored a career-high 28 points and pulled in 10 rebounds. Dylan Mahoney added 15 points, Nick Welch had 11 points and Tim Kelley added 10 points for OA. Jared Costa-Haywood led the Black Knights with 17 points, Cam Gomes had 12 points and sophomore Cam Andrews chipped in with 10 points. Senior captain Nick Quattrucci hauled in seven rebounds.

King Philip, 56 vs. Dartmouth, 60 – Final – King Philip rallied from a 13 point halftime deficit but the Indians were able to hold on. Seth Sullivan had a team-high 18 points while sophomore Justin Vine added 15 points.

Taunton, 59 @ New Bedford, 69 – Final

Milford, 62 @ Canton, 47 – Final

Foxboro, 57 @ Sharon, 49 – Final – Foxboro had four players reach double figures for scoring. Lily Sykes led the Warriors with 16 points while Ashley Sampson added 13 points, Grace Tamulionis had 12 points and Carolynn Will finished with 10 points. Sharon was led by Alyssa Piazza with 20 points and four steals, while Charlotte Ransom had seven points, all in the fourth quarter. Shira Stoller had seven assists and Emma Eberhardt had 11 points for the Eagles.

North Attleboro, 45 @ Franklin, 54 – Final
Attleboro, 43 @ Mansfield, 56 – Final – The Hornets clinched the Kelley-Rex division title with the win. It is the second in the program’s history. Jen Peel led the way with 18 points and five assists. Meg Hill added 11 points and 15 rebounds and Juliana Newell scored 12 for Mansfield. Attleboro was led by Sarah Deyo, who finished with 15 points. Sam Pierce added 10 for the Bombardiers.

Stoughton, 32 @ Oliver Ames, 63 – Final – Sophomore Kayla Raymond led the Tigers with a game-high 16 points while Kaitlyn McCarthy added 13 points and Niyera Mitchell had 12 points. 
Taunton, 48 vs. New Bedford, 17 – Final – Senior Kia Pate led Taunton with 11 points, sophomore Hannah Moniz added nine points, senior Alyssa Gibson finished with eight points and senior Jordan Wade chipped in with nine points and six rebounds.

Friday’s Schedule & Scoreboard – 02/12/16

Boys Basketball
Taunton, 61 @ Attleboro, 64 – Final – A back and forth fourth quarter ended with a big three from Jake Dunkley and a key free throw as the Bombardiers scored their first win over Taunton since Valentine’s Day 2013. Dunkley finished with a game-high 20 points while Kyle Murphy, Andrew Milliken and Lucas Boucicaut each had 12 points. Carlos Borrero led Taunton with 17 points while Jose Mercado added 13 points. 

Sharon, 59 @ Canton, 50 – Final

Oliver Ames, 39 @ Foxboro, 47- Final – Jason Procaccini’s 15 points was a game-high as Foxboro grinded to a win to clinch at least a share of the Davenport division title. It marks the program’s first ever Davenport title and first league title since 2003. Charlie Ryan had 12 points for Oliver Ames. 

Mansfield, 55 @ Franklin, 51 – Final – Franklin rallied from a 15 point second half deficit to get within two in the final minutes but a big shot from Mansfield’s Matt Ehrlich and key stops sealed the win for the Hornets. Tyler Boulter had a team-high 12 points while Sam Goldberg had 11 points, seven rebounds and three assists. Matt Ehrlich (four rebounds, four assists) and Christian Weber each had nine points, Nick Baskin had six and Max Boen had five points and four assists. Franklin sophomore Connor Peterson scored 21 points and hauled in nine rebounds while freshman Jay Dieterle netted 18 points. 
King Philip, 38 @ North Attleboro, 49 – Final – Mario Bresko led the Rocketeers with 12 points.
Stoughton, 53 @ Milford, 59 – Final – Dimitry Torres once again led the way for the Scarlet Hawks, dropping in a game-high 21 points. Zack Tamagni added 13 points while Anthony Arcudi chipped in with 19 points. Dwight Anderson had nine points and 10 rebounds while Kayden Kelley added 10 rebounds. Stoughton sophomore Cam Andrews had a team-high 18 points. 
Girls Basketball
Canton, 43 @ Sharon, 67 – FinalCharlotte Ransom scored 19 points and six rebounds for Sharon. The Eagles also got a career-high 18 points from Emma Eberhardt and 16 points and five rebounds from Alyssa Piazza.
Foxboro, 40 @ Oliver Ames, 55 – FinalNiyera Mitchell came off the bench for OA to score 15 points and pull down 17 rebounds, both of which were game highs. Kayla Raymond added 11 points and 10 rebounds and Francesca Calabraro scored 11. Ashley Sampson was the top scorer for Foxboro with 15 points, including 10 in the fourth quarter, and Cassidy Harrison added 12.
Franklin, 38 @ Mansfield, 44 – FinalMeg Hill and Caroline Maher led the way for Mansfield with 12 points apiece. Lauren Rudolph was the top scorer for Franklin with eight points.
North Attleboro, 60 @ King Philip, 35 – FinalCaroline Collard and Ashley Ahern each scored 13 points for the Rocketeers. Riley Dalzell led the Warriors with 13 points.
Milford, 59 @ Stoughton, 41 – Final – Christine Pye was the top scorer for the Hawks with 14 points, while Jill Powers chipped in with 10.
Attleboro, 63 @ Taunton, 30 – FinalEmily Houle scored 31 points to lead the Bombardiers and is now only 21 points away from 1,000 for her career.

Boys Basketball
North Attleboro, 69 @ Attleboro, 63 – Final – Brent Doherty and Ridge Olsen scored 20 points for the Rocketeers in a close win over rival Attleboro. Junior Hacmoni Cuevas had seven points, including a big three in the fourth quarter. Attleboro junior Jake Dunkley scored a career-high 31 points, also the highest scoring output by a Hockomock player this season. Andrew Milliken chipped in with 12 points for the Bombardiers.
Mansfield, 66 @ Taunton, 58 – Final – Mansfield junior Christian Weber had a team-high 12 points and added six rebounds, Matt Ehrlich had 10 points, four rebounds and four assists, Tyler Boulter had 10 points, Sam Goldberg had nine points, eight rebounds and four assists and Phil Vigeant added nine points. Taunton’s Carlos Borrero netted a career-high 17 points while Quan Roberson and Jose Mercado each had 15 points for the Tigers. 

Oliver Ames, 61 @ Sharon, 64 – Final – Sharon missed a pair of free throws late but Oliver Ames shot from their own half missed the mark and the Eagles held on. Andrew Filipkowski was one of 10 Sharon players to score, leading the team with 17 points. OA’s Carter Evin had a game-high 20 points, Shawn Cardoza added a career-high 18 points and Tim Kelley netted 11 points. 
Girls Basketball
Mansfield, 72 @ Taunton, 38 – Final – Sophomore Meg Hill had a double-double with a team-high 14 points and 11 rebounds while Jackie Carchedi added 13 points and Jen Peel had 10 points and eight assists. Taunton’s Lilly Patnaude led the Tigers with 10 points. 

North Attleboro, 39 @ Attleboro, 52 – Final – Sarah Deyo notched her first career triple-double, scoring 15 points, hauling in 12 rebounds and recording 10 blocks. 

Oliver Ames, 63 @ Sharon, 29 – Final – Sharon held a two point lead (13-11) after the first quarter but Oliver Ames’ big second quarter helped take the Tigers take a 14 point lead by halftime. Kayla Raymond had a team-high 18 points and Francesca Calabraro had a double-double with 16 points and 10 steals. 
Hockey
Stoughton, 4 @ Attleboro, 1 – Final – Mark Sheehan scored a pair of goals while Nick Hardy and Sean Doherty each scored once for the Black Knights. Sam Larkin scored Attleboro’s goal off a rebound off a shot from Cam Littig.

Canton, 3 @ North Attleboro, 1 – Final

Foxboro, 1 @ Mansfield, 10 – Final

Franklin, 3 vs. Newburyport, 1 – Final – Sophomore Jeremy Miller netted a hat trick to guide Franklin to a big non-league win.
Milford, 3 @ Taunton, 8 – Final

Wrestling

MIWCA D1 Dual Tournament (Franklin) – Franklin placed fifth overall. The Panthers beat BC High (38-28) but lost to St. John’s Prep (41-21). Franklin finished the meet with wins over Plymouth South (40-27) and Framingham (34-26). 
MIWCA D2 Dual Meet Tournament (Milford, North Attleboro, Oliver Ames) – North Attleboro continued its very strong season by winning the D2 Dual Meet title. The Rocketeers beat Keefe Tech (68-6), Winchester (40-27) and Nashoba (51-21) to reach the finals. In the finals, North Attleboro took down Central Catholic, 39-22, to claim the title. OA was seeded 6th and opened with a win over Dracut (52-12) but suffered a loss to #3 Natick (60-18). Casey Bellevue went 2-0 on the day with a pair of pins and Luke Cullen also went 2-0. OA finished the season with a 20-8 record, a program record for both wins and least losses. 
Scituate Quad (Canton) – Canton beat host Scituate (39-29) but lost to Hingham (59-18) and Walpole (47-30).

Stoughton Quad (Sharon, Stoughton) – Sharon had wins over Silver Lake (40-25), Southeastern (58-6) and Duxbury (40-34) and tied with Bridgewater-Raynham (34-34).
