Franklin, 8 @ Bridgewater-Raynham, 4 – Final – Franklin let a pair of leads slip, but the Panthers had a late push that B-R could not answer in an 8-4 win. Senior Sean Kryzak tripled and scored on sophomore Patrick Luizzi’s groundout in the first, only for the Trojans to answer in the bottom half, and Franklin went back in front with two runs in the fifth on a freshman Ethan Edmunds RBI single and junior Joey Goguen sac fly before B-R tied it again in the bottom half. The Panthers took the lead for good with three runs in the sixth, as sophomore Ethan Herndon singled and scored on senior Jack Sullivan’s fielder’s choice, junior Henry George came home on a wild pitch, and Kryzak added a sac fly. Franklin tacked on two more in the seventh when George delivered a two-run single. Edmunds went 3-for-3 with an RBI and a walk, Kryzak finished 2-for-3 with a triple, an RBI, and two runs, George went 2-for-3 with two RBI, two runs, and a walk, and Herndon added two hits and a run. Sophomore Aiden Clark was strong in relief, allowing two runs over 3.2 innings with three strikeouts, and sophomore Jacoby Brown closed it out with two innings of work, giving up just two hits.

Player of the Week: Ethan Edmunds, Franklin Baseball

Franklin freshman Ethan Edmunds has been selected as the HockomockSports.com Player of the Week, presented by Morse Insurance, for April 19 through April 25. Edmunds is the 31st athlete chosen as Player of the Week for the 2025-26 school year and the fourth in the spring season.

Edmunds continued his terrific rookie campaign by helping the Panthers to three non-league victories over vacation week, extending Franklin’s win streak to seven. He had four hits and six RBI over the three games and picked up the win on the hill against Wachusett.

“Ethan continues to perform like a varsity veteran,” said Franklin head coach Zach Brown. “He competes with a poise that’s uncommon for a freshman. He has had a major impact on our team both offensively and on the mound. We are excited about his future as a Panther.”

After going 2-for-3 with three RBI against Stoughton leading into vacation week, Edmunds was held hitless against Catholic Memorial, but the Panthers rallied from two runs down to secure a 3-2 win. Two days later, Edmunds had a big day on the mound and at the plate at Wachusett. He went five innings, allowing just three hits and two unearned runs while striking out seven. Edmunds left with the game tied at 2-2. Franklin scored twice in the sixth and five times in the seventh to get the win. Edmunds doubled to start the rally in the sixth and blasted a three-run homer in the final inning. He went 3-for-4 and drove in five on the day. On Saturday, Edmunds reached base four times against North Quincy, going 1-for-3 with three walks and scored two runs. His lone hit was the biggest of the day, singling to center in the bottom of the 11th to secure a dramatic, walk-off win.
