Attleboro, 1 @ Mansfield, 1 – Final – Attleboro controlled the first half and took a 1-0 lead but Mansfield took over in the second half and found the equalizer. Colin Levis gave the visitors the lead in the 31st minute but Mansfield freshman Dylan Buchanan was crediting for the tying goal, with the Bombardiers have an own goal.

Franklin, 0 @ King Philip, 2 – Final – King Philip scored inside the first and last five minutes of the match to earn two points at home and keep its postseason hopes alive. Senior captain Ian Zimmerman gave the hosts the lead in the third minute, finishing off a cross from classmate John Cullen. Cam Lawrence added the insurance tally in the 75th minute, scoring on a volley on an assist from Gavon Fox. Aidan Lindmark made four saves to record the shutout.

Milford @ Sharon – Postponed to Saturday, 10/20 at 6:00.

North Attleboro @ Stoughton – Postponed to Monday, 10/15 at 3:45.

Girls Soccer
Mansfield, 3 @ Attleboro, 0 – Final – Mansfield’s Steph Kemp found the back of the net twice while Sydney Mulkern capped the scoring, leading the Hornets to a shutout win on the road. Bryn Anderson had two assists while Katy Garvin added one helper for the Hornets.

Foxboro, 1 @ Walpole, 0 – Final – Foxboro used an early second half goal and solid play from its defense and goalies to pick up a win on the road at Walpole and stay unbeaten on the season. Lizzy Davis had the lone goal, scoring an unassisted tally early in the second half.

King Philip, 1 @ Franklin, 1 – Final – After a scoreless first half, Ally Stanton broke the deadlock midway through the second half off an Avery Snead assist. Erin Quaile equalized for Franklin just four minutes later off a Carly Alston assist. Breanna Atwood made nine saves and Taylor Butler made five saves for the Warriors, as both teams earned a point.

Stoughton, 1 @ North Attleboro, 8 – Final – Ashlyn Gaulin scored four times to help the Rocketeers clinch a spot in the state tournament. Kayla Pasquel had a pair of goals and an assist and Abi Slaney scored the first two goals of her career. Lily Cameron had a pair of assists, while Haley Ferrin, Emma Gaulin and Lydia Santos each had one assist in the win. Stoughton sophomore Ashley Camilo scored on an assist from Hannah Papagno.

Sharon, 0 @ Milford, 2 – Final – Cassie Probert and Juliana France each scored their third goals of the season for the Hawks to help the team earn its third win of the season. Olivia Marshall had the clean sheet for Milford, her third this fall, making seven saves in the win.

Field Hockey
Attleboro, 4 @ Stoughton, 0 – Final – In her third varsity game, freshman Emelia Westwater scored her first varsity goal, and then scored another as the Bombardiers netted a win on the road. Anna Beck and Emma Briggs also scored for Attleboro in the victory.

Canton, 0 @ Foxboro, 2 – Final

Oliver Ames, 0 @ Taunton, 0 – Final – Taunton goalie Emma Sheehan made seven saves in net to help the host Tigers earn a draw.

Volleyball
Oliver Ames, 3 @ Bridgewater-Raynham, 0 – Final Oliver Ames went on the road and picked up a 3-0 sweep (25-13, 25-18, 25-11) over Bridgewater-Raynham to qualify for the state tournament. Sadie Homer had 29 digs for the Tigers, Jordan Bosse added 14 kills and three aces, and sophomore Sarah Morley had a balanced defensive game for the Tigers.

King Philip, 0 @ Walpole, 3 – Final – King Philip went on the road and fell to Walpole. Catherine Waldeck had five kills and two blocks and Shayla Weitzman added nine digs for the Warriors.

Wednesday’s Schedule & Scoreboard – 09/26/18

Boys Soccer
Attleboro, 2 @ Foxboro, 8 – Final – Foxboro junior Dylan Barreira stayed red hot, scoring six goals for the second straight game to lead the Warriors to a big win at home. Barreira scored three goals in each half, giving the hosts a 3-1 edge at the break. Nic Beigel (assist) and Chris Amiable each scored once while Matt Garcia had two assists and Will Morrison had one helper.

Mansfield, 0 @ Canton, 0 – Final – Both Canton and Mansfield had a handful of corners and long throw in chances but neither side could break the stalemate. Mansfield goalie Anthony Salisbury made a terrific one-handed diving save in the 54th minute to rob Griffin Roach of a goal from just outside the area. On the ensuing corner, Simon Cruz had a big on goal denied by defender Matt O’Donnell, who was positioned at the near post. Alejandro Correal had a strong game in net for the Bulldogs.

Franklin, 0 @ North Attleboro, 0 – Final

King Philip, 7 @ Stoughton, 1 – Final – King Philip raced out to a 3-1 lead at halftime and added four more goals in the second half to pick up two points on the road. KP scored three goals inside the first 11 minutes with sophomore Evan McEvoy (from Zac White) scoring the opening strike and assisting on Ian Zimmerman’s goal two minutes later. Tony Bozza mad 3-0 before Stoughton freshman Mateo Eschleman converted a long throw-in from Ikenna Dike to get on the board. In the second half, McEvoy (from John Cullen) and Cam Lawrence (from Bozza) scored in the first four minutes to make it 6-1. Senior Justin Willson added two more goals on assists from Gavon Fox and Andrew Thompson.

Taunton, 0 @ Milford, 4 – Final – Milford exploded for three goals in the second half to earn a convincing win over visiting Taunton. Omar Lema scored his second goal in as many games just two minutes in to give the Hawks an early lead. But Milford didn’t add onto it until the second half. Jordan Borges made it 2-0 just minutes into the second half on an assist from Walisson de Oliveira. Borges then returned the favor, setting de Oliveira up to a pair of goals to give the Hawks a 4-0 win.

Oliver Ames, 2 @ Sharon, 2 – Final – Sharon took a very early lead but had to come up with a late equalizer in the first half to earn a point against visiting Oliver Ames. Isaiah Stessman put the Eagles up less than two minutes in, converting a cross from Brian Higgins to make it 1-0. OA capitalized on an Eagle miscue as Jimmy Keane pounced on a loose ball and tied it for OA. The Tigers then took a lead as sophomore Colin Milliken blasted a shot from atop the 18 to give the visitors a 2-1 advantage. With five seconds left in the first half, Higgins used a nice individual effort to get by the defense and scored to make it 2-2.

Girls Soccer
Foxboro, 3 @ Attleboro, 2 – Final – Attleboro took an early led but Foxboro battled back to get the advantage and earn two points. After Attleboro took a 1-0 lead, Jordyn Collins equalized for Foxboro, converting an assist from Kenzi Fraser. Freshman Kailee McCabe scored on a penalty kick midway through the first half, and then scored again in the second half on a pass from Lizzy Davis.

Canton, 0 @ Mansfield, 4 – Final – Maria Sevastos scored twice and assisted on another as Mansfield stayed unbeaten with a four-goal flurry in the first half against Canton. Steph Kemp and Cassidy McMahon each scored goals for the Hornets and McMahon added an assist as well. Emily Vigeant assisted on a pair of goals in the win.

North Attleboro, 0 @ Franklin, 2 – Final – Stella Regan had a pair of goals in the first half, assisted by Calen Frongillo and Hailey Toolin, to lead the Panthers to a big cross-over win. Breanna Atwood made eight saves to preserve the clean sheet for Franklin. Emma Noreck made six saves for the Rocketeers.

Sharon, 1 @ Oliver Ames, 3 – Final – Senior Samantha Gilgan, junior Lauren Picanzi, and senior Daniella Ferrini each scored as Oliver Ames notched a win at home over Sharon.

Stoughton, 1 @ King Philip, 8 – Final – Cara Perry scored for the Black Knights, finding the back of the net off a cross by Mackenzie Manning.

Milford, 2 @ Taunton, 0 – Final

Stoughton, 2 @ Brockton, 0 – Final – Haley Nelson and Allie Howe each cored once as Stoughton went on the road and beat the Boxers of Brockton High. Kayla Laboy recorded the shutout in goal for the Black Knights.

Golf
Stoughton, 184 @ Canton, 147 – Final – Canton’s Tommy Dimock shot a match-low round of 35, earning medalist honors while helping the Bulldogs net their lowest score of the season. Mike Gobbi and Mike Leonetti each shot 37 while Thomas Singleton carded a 38. Josh Hough led Stoughton with a 42 and Luke Bainton shot 44.

Mansfield, 174 @ Franklin, 166 – Final – Franklin notched its second straight win over a division foe, this time knocking off Mansfield at Franklin Country Club. Quinten Faro was the match medalist after carding a low round of 38. Jack Paterson added a 40 for the Panthers while Ryan Dow led Mansfield with a round of 40.

Taunton @ Oliver Ames – Postponed to time/date TBD.

Milford, 181 @ Sharon, 161 – Final – Ethan Skelly earned medalist honors after shooting a 37 at the Cape Club of Sharon, leading the Eagles to a win over Milford. Andrew Glaser and Nathan Daley each shot 41 for Sharon while Corey Carter carded a round of 42. Riley Lynch led Milford with a 39.

Boys Soccer
Attleboro, 2 @ King Philip, 4 – Final – King Philip scored three goals in the first half, overcoming a one-goal deficit, to beat Attleboro. The Warriors opened the scoring in the third minute when sophomore Ajae Olsen converted a feed from classmate Camron Lawrence. Attleboro struck back for a pair of goals to seize a 2-1 lead as Hugo Henriquez struck in the 11th minute (from Josh Smith) and Will Halben scored in the 29th minute. But KP responded quickly as Ian Zimmerman (from Gavon Fox) made it 2-2 in the 34th minute. Just before halftime, senior Tony Bozza put the hosts ahead, 3-2, in the 38th minute. Bozza added an insurance goal midway through the second off an assist from freshman Stephen Griffin.

Canton, 1 @ Sharon, 0 – Final – Canton’s Simon Cruz with just under 10 minutes to play to give the Bulldogs two points on the road.

Foxboro, 7 @ Stoughton, 0 – Final – Foxboro junior Dylan Barreira exploded for six goals in the first half to pace the Warriors to a win. Nic Beigel scored the other goal for the Warriors while also recording four assists in the victory. Stoughton sophomore Nolan Gerome made his varsity debut in net, recording 19 saves for the Black Knights.

Taunton, 3 @ Franklin, 0 – Final – Taunton exploded for three goals in the second half to pick up its second straight win. Alec Nunes scored the game-winner in the 52nd minute, taking a pass from Kyle Aubin and blasting a shot from range to put the Tigers ahead 1-0. Mateusz Hagemajer scored the next two goals, first off an assist from Brett Beaulieu in the 55th minute and then unassisted in the 67th minute. THS coach Taylor Whitters said Liam Crowley and Charlie Fiske also played well for the Tigers while Nolan Melo recorded his second shutout of the season.

Oliver Ames, 1 @ Mansfield, 1 – Final – Mansfield jumped ahead just moments into the second half but Oliver Ames knotted the score just over 10 minutes later as the Hornets and Tigers finished level. Junior Owen Mullahy put the hosts in front, heading in a cross in the 42nd minute. Oliver Ames’ Kevin Louhis tied the game in the 55th minute, tucking his shot inside the near post. Louhis collected a loose ball after a volley from sophomore Colin Milliken hit off the crossbar and bounced into the area.

North Attleboro, 1 @ Milford, 1 – Final – North Attleboro senior Joe Hilf gave the visitors the lead with a goal from distance but Milford found the equalizer midway through the second half to earn a draw at home. Hilf put Big Red ahead just over the midway point of the first half with a hard shot from distance. In the second half, Milford junior Omar Lema scored his first career goal off an assist from Walisson de Oliveira, tying the game in the 60th minute.

Girls Soccer
King Philip, 3 @ Attleboro, 0 – Final – Avery Snead scored once and assisted on another, as KP remained on top in the Kelley-Rex with the win. Makayla Griffin scored inside the opening 10 minutes, on a Snead assist, for what turned out to be the game-winner. Snead double the lead in the second half with a shot from just inside the 18 and Jenny Montville sealed the win on a through ball by Ally Stanton. Attleboro goalie Tayla Drape made 12 saves to keep the Bombardiers in the game and earned praise from both coaches.

Canton, 5 @ Sharon, 0 – Final

Stoughton, 0 @ Foxboro, 7 – Final – Foxboro senior Kenzi Fraser exploded for four goals and one assist to lead the Warriors to a big win at home. Jordyn Collins, Kendra Wentling, and Lizzy Davis (goal) all had an assist while Kailee McCabe scored off a feed from Fraser. Freshman Kaitryn Franchino capped with the scoring with an unassisted tally.

Franklin, 4 @ Taunton, 0 – Final – Sydney St. Marie scored a pair of goals, Calen Frongillo had a pair of assists and Hailey Toolin had a goal and an assist for the Panthers. Stella Regan also had a goal and Sabrina Addi had an assist in the win.

Milford @ North Attleboro – Postponed to date and time TBD.

Mansfield, 1 @ Oliver Ames, 0 – Final – Steph Kemp scored the only goal of the game to keep Mansfield unbeaten in the league this season. For Oliver Ames, head coach Britt Sellmayer said Emma O’Donnell had a great game in net and credited Anna Tempestoso and Abby Hodges with strong games.

Field Hockey
Attleboro, 0 @ King Philip, 7 – Final – Alli Meehan scored a hat trick to lead the Warriors to a win. Meghan MacDonald, Claire Lawler, Kate Lindmark, and Nicole Connor also scored for KP. Click here for a photo gallery from this game.

Canton, 6 @ Sharon, 0 – Final – Canton’s Maggie Malloy scored a hat trick as the Bulldogs rolled on the road at Sharon. Shannon Crowley and Beth Oldenburg each scored once while Allie Gefteas scored her first career goal in Canton’s win.

Foxboro, 3 @ Stoughton, 0 – Final – Lily Daly scored a pair of goals and assisted on a third as Foxboro notched a win on the road over Stoughton. Daly scored two goals in the first half as Foxboro took a 2-0 lead into halftime. In the second half, Daly set up Jamie Notarangelo for the third goal.

Taunton, 2 @ Franklin, 2 – Final – Taunton rallied from a 2-0 deficit to grab a point on the road with the draw. Goals from Cassi Ronan (from Regan Paterson) and Amanda Lewandowski (from Stephanie Bell) put the Panthers ahead 2-0 at halftime. But Taunton scored twice in the second, tying the game with 10 minutes to go. Lauren Torres (from Jillian Pagliuca) made it a one goal game and then Alana Tavares tied the game. Emma Sheehan had five saves in net for the Tigers. THS head coach Liz Hathaway praised the work of her defense, including Skylar Rheaume, who made a big defensive save for Taunton.

Attleboro, 0 @ King Philip, 3 – Final – King Philip defended home court with a 3-0 (25-10, 25-13, 25-14) sweep over Attleboro. For King Philip, Kat Kmetz had four kills, two aces, and 10 service points, Catherine Waldeck and Kristen Masse each added three kills, and Jessie Kornfeld and Shalya Weitzman each chipped in with three aces.

Canton, 3 @ Sharon, 0 – Final – Canton went on the road and earned a 3-0 sweep (25-15, 25-17, 25-21) behind a strong all-around team performance. Nicole Brown continued to lead the Bulldogs, finishing with 18 assists, 18 digs, five kills, and an ace while Taylor Harris added seven kills, five aces, and nine digs, and Theresa O’Brien chipped in while six kills and an ace. Freshman Sydney Gallery added three kills in her first full varsity set.

Foxboro, 0 @ Stoughton, 3 – Final – Stoughton notched its fourth win of the season with a 3-0 sweep (25-20, 25-16, 25-14) of visiting Foxboro. Mia Bennett was strong in the back row with 34 digs, Sasha Hyacinthe and Amaya Morris led the offense combining for 17 kills, Hanna Holden had 18 assists, and Molly Turner had a well rounded game of 15 assists, eight kills, and five aces.

Taunton, 0 @ Franklin, 3 – Final

North Attleboro, 1 @ Milford, 3 – Final

Oliver Ames, 3 @ Mansfield, 0 – Final – Oliver Ames fended off a furious rally attempt from Mansfield in the first set and went on to earn the sweep (26-24, 25-14, 25-20). For OA, senior Sadie Homer led the way with 21 digs, senior Sarah Litwack added 17 assists, junior Jordan Bosse finished with 10 kills, senior Grace McCallum chipped in with seven aces, and junior Mary Davenport had a strong game in the middle. For Mansfield, Greenly Kelly and Katie Dardinski each had eight service points while Emily Dardinski paced the offense with nine kills.

Golf
Sharon, 162 @ Oliver Ames, 145 – Final – Oliver Ames’ Liam Barry earned medalist honors with a low-round of 35 as the Tigers handed Sharon its first loss of the season. Thomas Walsh and Tate Hadges each cared a 36 while Nolan Donze shot a 38 at Pine Oaks.

Taunton, 181 @ Mansfield, 167 – Final – Sophomore Nathan Morreale shot a team-low round of 41 while three other Hornets shot 42 in a win over Taunton at Norton Country Club. Sophomores Jason See, Ava Haggis and Joseph Gormley rounded out Mansfield’s scoring each with a 42.

North Attleboro, 165 @ Milford, 179 – Final – North Attleboro senior Marcus Costa shot a low-round of 38 to earn medalist honors and pace the Rocketeers on the road. Matt Wanless added a 41 for Big Red while Jillian Barend carded a round of 42.
