Foxboro, 7 @ Canton, 2 – FinalFoxboro picked up its second win in as many days and fourth straight overall by taking down Canton. Peyton Feldman led the offense with three hits, including two singles and a triple while Vittoria Cuscia helped her own cause in the circle with three RBI. Angelina Rifai added two hits for the Warriors.

Boys Tennis
King Philip, 3 @ Canton, 2 – FinalKing Philip’s Diego Nieto and Noah Ihley rallied from a one-set deficit to win in three, giving the Warriors a 3-2 win on the road over Canton. Canton took the first set at first doubles but Nieto and Ihley won two straight (4-6, 6-3, 6-4) for the point. KP’s Adam Gousie and Arjun Kollu added a 6-2, 6-3 win at second doubles, and Jackson Hom secured a 6-1, 6-1 win at third singles for the Warriors. Canton’s Max Kupferman (6-0, 6-1) and Suraj Ramanathan (6-0, 6-2) continued to play ell for the Bulldogs, taking wins at first and second singles, respectively.

Girls Tennis
Canton, 1 @ King Philip, 4 – FinalKing Philip got back into the in column, taking a pair of wins from both singles and doubles play against visiting Canton. Ahunna James had a strong showing at first singles with minimal errors, taking a 6-0, 6-3 win while junior Caroline Freese earned a 6-3, 6-2 win at third singles. After winning the first set, Resha Ajoy and Lauren Casper had to rally in the third set to secure a 6-1, 5-7, 7-5 win at first doubles. KP also got a win from Priya Riar and Carlie Burns at second doubles (6-2, 6-1). Canton’s Laura Correal earned a hard-fought 6-1, 6-3 decision at second singles.

Mansfield, 68 @ Attleboro, 68 – FinalIn a battle of the top two teams in the Kelley-Rex division, Attleboro and Mansfield finished in a deadlock at 68-68. The Bombardiers got key 1-2 finishes in both the 800M and the 2 Mile while Iasiah Traore was a double winner. Jack Blouin (3rd in the 1 Mile) took first in the 800M at 2:10.7 while Michael Jennison took second in 2:11.1. In the 2 Mile, Ethan Syliva (2nd in the 1 Mile) secured a 8-second PR time of 10:18.9 to take first while Less Casstevens was second at 10:38.3. Traore won both the shotput and the discus, Adrian Rivera won the 400M with a PR time of 54.0, Jordan Rivera added a first place finish in the 200M (23.1), and Ethan Gattoni took first in the javelin. Kaiden Murray added key points with second place finishes in the 100M (11.0), the 110M hurdles (15.9), the long jump, and the triple jump.

Canton, 26 @ North Attleboro, 110 – FinalFor Canton, Dan Kraslynkov took first in the 400M (55.8) and Favor Ugah was a double winner, taking both the 100M and the 200M (23.5). Ugah set a new school record in the 100M, clocking in a 10.8 for the new top time.

Girls Outdoor Track
Mansfield, 111 @ Attleboro, 25 – FinalFor Attleboro, Emilia Smith won the 800M in 2:47.7 and Bailey Ellis took third in the race while Elayna Marinelli (javelin), Kimberly Packard-Flores (shot put), Jahela Douglas (triple jump), and Allie McNamara (high jump) all had second place finishes.

Canton, 53 @ North Attleboro, 83 – FinalFor Canton, Katie Oliver and Talya DeGraw each had a win and a total of three top three finishes, Kiley Hanlon and Kiara Cerruti added a win and one more top three placement, and Lianna Camille took first in the 400M (64.9). Oliver was first in the 100M hurdles, second in the long jump, and second in the triple jump while DeGraw took first in the 100M, and third in both the high jump and the long jump. Hanlon won the 200M (26.8) and took second in the 100M (12.8) and Cerruti was the 1 Mile winner (5:50.8) and third in the 800M.

Taunton, 72 @ Milford, 66 – FinalTaunton broke in the win column on the season, winning the final event of the meet to pull ahead of the Scarlet Hawks. The Tigers took first in the 4×400 relay with the team of Ava Uhl, Lexie Zakrzewski, Phylicia Dias, and Caelen O’Leary taking the win to clinch the meet victory. Nia Mainer-Smith was a double winner for Taunton, taking first in the 400M (60.3) and the 200M (27.3). Taylor Doherty added a win in the high jump (4’8), Emersyn DePonte won the 1 Mile (5:34), Colby Dunham was first in the 2 Mile (12:49), and Dias added a first place finish in the 800M (2:34).

Oliver Ames, 13 @ Canton, 5 – FinalHolding onto a one-run lead, Oliver Ames pushed across six runs in the fifth inning to pull away for a win over Canton. Jack Muir had a pair of hits, including a double, and paced the offense with five RBI for the Tigers. Nathanial Lewis (two RBI) and Jack Richardson (two runs) each added two hits in the win. Lucas Riley (2IP, 2K) and Patrick Finnerty (1IP, 1K) combined to close out the game for OA. Matt Chafin (triple, RBI, stolen base), Hayden Rose (three RBI), and Andy Butler (two stolen bases) each had a pair of hits for Canton.

Girls Tennis
Franklin, 3 @ North Attleboro, 2 – Final Franklin took two wins in singles play plus one more in doubles to take down the Rocketeers. Chloe Essam earned a win at second singles (4-6, 1-2/inj.), Sarah Schiavo added a 6-3, 6-0 victory at third singles, and the first doubles tandem of Amulya Jayam and Shriya Rasish emerged with a 7-5, 6-3 win. North Attleboro’s Lauren Hunt won 6-0, 6-1 at first singles while Ashlyn Cziria and Teresa Fan prevailed with a 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 win at second doubles.

Attleboro, 103 @ Franklin, 33 – FinalCashel Stuger, Ethan Syliva, Adrian Rivera each had a pair of individual wins as Attleboro ran away with a big win over Franklin. Stuger was first in both the long jump (19’4″) and the 110M hurdles (16.4), Sylvia won both the 1 Mile (4:51) and the 2 Mile (10:45.5) races, and Rivera took the top spot in the 100M dash (11.4) and the triple jump (38’2.5″). Other winners for the Bombardiers included Damon Dugan (high jump, 5’6″), Chris Leonardo (shot put, 42’1″), Ethan Gattoni (javelin, 156’8″), Isaiah Traore (discus, 109′), Jacob Blazek (400M hurdles, 1:03.3), Zyeem Charles (200M, 23.3), and Jack Blouin (800M, 2:12.4). Attleboro’s 4×100 relay (Adrian Rivera, Zyeem Charles, Jordan Rivera-Silva, Cashel Stuger) also took first in 46.5 seconds.

Sharon, 91 @ Canton, 37 – FinalFor Canton, Kyle Downing was a double-winner with wins in both the 1 Mile (4:56.8) and the 2 Mile (11:10.21), Ruari Ritson added a first place finish in the shot put (36’2″), and Sean Sullivan won the javelin (104’8″).

Milford, 45 @ Mansfield, 87 – FinalMansfield’s Chamberlain Guthrie Jr. won a pair of individual races and anchored the Hornets’ 4x100M relay team to a first place finish in a win over visiting Milford. Guthrie Jr. won both the long jump (20’0″) and the 200M (23.4), and teamed up with Myles Brown, Isaiah Kind, and Dylan Buchanan to win the 4×100 relay in 45.5 seconds. Brown, a freshman, continued the strong start to his career with another win the 100M (11.5) while sophomore Ty Duffin had a big improvement in his first-place javelin throw, winning at 118’4″. Buchanan added a win in the 110M hurdles (15.3), Evan Rawlings won the high jump (5’3″), Dana Johnson took first in the triple jump (38’5″), and Charles Newcomb won the discus (104’1″). Mansfield’s 4×400 relay (Tommy Giudicianni, Talon Johnson, Marco Geminiani, Evan Rawlings) took first in 3:44.

Attleboro, 16 @ Franklin, 120 – FinalFor Attleboro, Emilia Smith won the 2 Mile (12:41), Elayna Marinelli (90’10”) and Meghan Barrows (68’5″) took first and second, respectively, in the javelin, Rebecca Rainey was third in the 400M hurdles (74.3), Bailey Ellis was third in the 1 Mile (6:15.4), and Dianna McArthur was third in the shotput (29’6.5″).

Sharon, 45 @ Canton, 91 – FinalCanton swept the top three spots in four different events on its way to a win over visiting Sharon. The Bulldogs swept the 400M hurdles (Jayda Proffit, Julia Donovan, Kenzie Bennett), the 400M (Liana Camill, Brianna Rosebrugh, Caira McKinney), the high jump (Talya DeGraw, Ella Lewis, Kiley Hanlon) and the 200M dash (Kiley Hanlon, Syriah McCruse, Talya DeGraw).

Monday’s Schedule & Scoreboard – 12/13/21

Boys Hockey
Franklin, 4 @ Needham, 3 – FinalFranklin had four different players light the lamp as the Panthers skated to a win on the road over Needham. Aidan Linehan opened the scoring for the Panthers, who were tied 1-1 after one period of action. Goals from Ryan Sicchio, Dylan Marchand, and Anthony Lampasona pushed Franklin’s advantage to 4-1 in the second period. Needham made it a two-goal game before the end of the second and added another in the third but the Panthers held on.

Girls Hockey
King Philip, 7 vs. Norwell, 3 – FinalKing Philip exploded for four goals in the final period to earn its second straight win to start the season. Kelly Holmes scored a hat trick to pace the offense while Morgan Cunningham added a pair of goals. Sydney O’Shea and Catie Putt each scored once in the win.

Boys Indoor Track (@ Wheaton College)
Mansfield, 61 @ Taunton, 38 – FinalUniversity of Michigan-commit Jake Wall picked up right where he left off, winning three events to help Mansfield take down Taunton in the season opener for both teams. Wall won the 55M hurdles (7.95), the high jump (5-04.00), and the long jump (22-03.00). Sophomore Chamberlain Guthrie Jr. and senior Isaiah Kinds followed at second and third in the long jump to give the Hornets the sweep. Chamberlain and Kinds also teamed with Nate Kablik and Nolan Clarke to win the 2×400 relay in 1:44.34 Other winners for Mansfield included Kablik in the 55M dash (6.99), Chris Leonard in the 1000M (2:51.40), Riley Tremblay in the 1 Mile (4:49.01), and Collin Stevens in the 2 Mile (10:41.11). Taunton’s Conal Scully won the 600M with a PR of 1:27.13 and was a member of the winning 4×400 relay team (3:41.46) along with Aidden Fitting, Andrew Cali, and Brayden Cali.

King Philip, 36 @ Attleboro, 64 – Final Attleboro took first place in seven events and swept both the shot put and the 600M to take a win over King Philip in a meet held at Wheaton College. Chris Leonardo (43-11.00), Isaac Pereira, Isaiah Traore, and Ethan Gattoni took the top four spots in the shot put for the Bombardiers while sophomores Nicolas Graber (1:36.36), Jacob Blazek (1:37.10), and Sean Kaswale (1:37.13) swept the 600M. Senior Kaiden Murray was a big winner for Attleboro, taking first in the 55M dash (6.89), the 55M hurdles (8.98), and the long jump (18-02.00).

Foxboro, 58 @ Canton, 33 – FinalJunior Daniel O’Malley took first in a pair of events and the Warriors won eight events overall, including both relays, to get a win over Canton. O’Malley set a PR with his win in the 300M at 40.65 and then took first in the long jump at 17-09.50. Senior Jared Ciora won the 600M in 1:36.81, junior Brooks Stone took first in the 1000M in 2:57.76, senior Nicolas Olson won the 2 Mile in 10:48.45, and junior Joe Flanagan won the shot put with a toss of 37-11.00.

Mansfield, 76.33 @ Taunton, 23.66 – Final

King Philip, 56 @ Attleboro, 43 – Final – King Philip swept the 55M dash and took the top two spots in three over events to open the season with a win over KP. Grace Lawler (7.84), Ahunna James, and Ally Pochay took the top three spots in the 55M dash, Isabelle Watson (10.94) and Madeline Hill were first and second in the 55M hurdles, Kate O’Neil (30-04.75) and James took the top two spots in the shot put, and James (4-10.00) and Watson tied for first in the high jump. Watson also won the long jump for the Warriors with a leap of 14-09.50. Attleboro swept the 600M race with junior Rebecca Rainey winning in 1:52.96 followed by Madison Ellis and Emily Dunlea. Other winners for Attleboro included freshman Julia Leonardo in the 300M (48.33), freshman Emelia Smith in the 1000M (3:37.11), and junior Kacey Parker in the 1 Mile (6:25.41).

Foxboro, 36.5 @ Canton, 62.5 – FinalCanton got a big boost by sweeping a pair of field events and had five different individual winners to knock off Foxboro. Junior Emma Messih won the shot put at 26-01.50 with seniors Maeve Morrissey and Fiona Miller taking second and third. Sophomore Katherine Oliver (14-00.00) won the long jump with Gabby Herivaux and Kiley Hanlon rounding out the top three for the dogs. Hanlon won the 55M dash (7.99), junior Syriah McCruse took first in the 300M (48.64), and senior Ella Lewis earned key points at the high jump at 4-06.00.
