Attleboro, 5 @ Sharon, 4 – FinalAttleboro scored three runs in the sixth inning to break a 2-2 tie, and then stranded the tying run at second in the bottom half to earn a win on the road at Sharon. Junior Max Amaral earned the win, pitching six-plus innings while senior Anthony Deyesso got the save, getting a strikeout to strand the run at second. Offensively, the Bombardiers had nine hits, paced by junior Tim Callahan’s (RBI) three hits. Senior Mason Houle (two RBI) added two this while junior Lorenzo Wilson (RBI), junior Ryan Morry, and junior Alvaro Espinal (walk, HBP) each had one hit.

Taunton, 9 @ Canton, 3 – FinalTaunton senior Josh Lajoie allowed just one earned run on two hits, striking out seven in 5.2 innings of work to help the Tigers earn a win on the road. The Tigers scored three runs in each the sixth and seventh innings to pull away from the Bulldogs. Junior Jared Roderick paced the offense, knocking in three runs on a pair of hits and a run scored while sophomore Danny MacDougall had two hits and two RBI.

Franklin, 18 @ Foxboro, 2 – Final (6 inn.)Franklin senior Ben Guzman, junior Cody Trotin, and senior Gerard Collins combined to throw a no-hitter as the Panthers improved to 11-0 and qualified for the state tournament. Guzman allowed one unearned run on three walks and five strikeouts in five innings of work, Trotin struck out two and walked three with one earned run allowed and Collins fanned two in a scoreless seventh inning. Senior Jake Macchi paced the offense, knocking in six runs on three hits and scoring once. Seniors Scott Elliott and Alex Haba each had three hits, an RBI, and a run scored for Franklin.

King Philip, 4 @ North Attleboro, 2 – FinalKing Philip erased a 2-0 deficit, plating three runs in the fifth and adding an insurance run in the top of the seventh to record a win on the road at North Attleboro. Senior Terry Murray earned the win, allowing one earned run in 5.1 innings of work, striking out four. Senior David Morganelli got the save, striking out two in 1.2 scoreless innings of relief. Offensively, senior Tim Crowley had a pair of hits and knocked in a pair of runs, junior Robbie Jarest had two hits, an RBI, and a run scored, and junior Chris Sawyer added two hits and a run.

Mansfield, 8 @ Stoughton, 0 – FinalMansfield exploded for five runs in the top of the first inning, building a lead it never relinquished in a win on the road at Stoughton. The Hornets tacked on three more runs in the top of the seventh. Offensively, Dan Saraceno (run) and Kyle Moran (two runs, RBI, walk) each had three hits for the Hornets. Mike Hargadon knocked in four runs and scored once on two hits. Junior John Carney was terrific on the mound, limiting a strong Stoughton team to just two hits while striking out 10 in six innings of work.

Oliver Ames, 2 @ Milford, 7 – FinalJunior Colby Pires allowed just one run on three hits in five innings of work to lead the Scarlet Hawks to a win over visiting Oliver Ames. Pires struck out three to earn the win. Offensively, senior Tyler Almeida went 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored and senior Justin Applebee had two hits, two runs scored and an RBI. Oliver Ames senior Jake Erlich was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.



Softball
Sharon, 0 @ Attleboro, 11 – FinalAttleboro belted out 17 hits as a team, including three home runs, to beat visiting Sharon. Senior Jordyn Lako had memorable performance, sending the first pitch she saw over the center field fence for a leadoff homer in the bottom of the first. Lako added another home run and a double, finishing with three hits. Junior Makenzie Killough (three hits) blasted a three-run homer in the fourth inning while Senior McKenzie Bergdoll also added three hits for the Bombardiers. Sophomore Lora Woyton, freshman Meghan Gordon, and sophomore Brenna Morse each had two hits. Junior Emily Gittle allowed five hits while striking out 10 to earn the win.

Canton, 0 @ Taunton, 11 – FinalSophomore Kelsey White and freshman Olyvia Mendonca combined to toss a two-hit shutout as the Tigers recorded a win over visiting Canton. White allowed one hit without issuing any walks, striking out nine in four innings while Mendonca fanned two, allowed one hit and no walks in three scoreless innings. Offensively, sophomore Hanna Aldrich three hits, including two doubles, two runs and two RBI while junior Rylie Murphy drove in three runs on two hits. Senior Alexa White added two hits, including a double, and two runs scored and sophomore McKenzie McAloon drove in two runs with a double.

Foxboro, 1 @ Franklin, 13 – FinalFranklin exploded for six runs in the fifth inning and tacked on four more in the sixth to pull away from the visiting Warriors of Foxboro. Senior Ally Shea had three hits and knocked in two runs while sophomore Gabby Colace drove in three runs on three hits. Junior Sarah Jackson and senior Tara Hartnett each had an RBI for Franklin.

North Attleboro, 7 @ King Philip, 1 – FinalAnnabelle Hebard had three hits, including a two-run homer, and drove in four runs to power the Rocketeers to their first win over KP since 2003. Alex Moulson chipped with two hits, including a solo homer, and Abby Gallagher had two hits and three runs scored. Bella Erti threw a complete game, striking out six and allowing just three hits and a single earned run.

Stoughton, 6 @ Mansfield, 5 – FinalThe Black Knights scored six runs in the sixth inning to come from behind and pull out a road win. Mansfield jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first, with the runs brought in by a Caty DeMassi RBI fielder’s choice and a single by Ella Verheggen. The Hornets added a fourth run in the fourth on a one-out double by Sarah Cahill and an RBI-single from Megan Letendre. Stoughton jumped ahead with six runs on eight hits in the sixth inning. Jordan Lyons led off with her first of two singles in the inning, Nicole Baker singled and Lexi Baptista (3-for-4) drove in both with a two-run triple. Brianna Ferrandiz singled to drive in Baptista, Nikki Coppola followed with a single and Sydney Menz drove Ferrandez in with a two-out single. Karly Estremera (two hits) launched a double to score Coppola and Menz. Mansfield cut the down to one thanks to a run-scoring triple by Kara Bendanillo and a fielder’s choice off the bat of Letendre. The Hornets left 11 runners on base in the loss. Baker struck out nine to earn her eighth win of the season for Stoughton. “It was a great team effort today, to stay in the game down for five innings and come back to win,” said Stoughton coach Deb Parker. “I’m proud of this team, they work hard and never give up!”

Milford, 6 @ Oliver Ames, 8 – FinalOliver Ames played a clean game defensively to earn a win over Milford. The Tigers got contributions throughout the lineup with sophomore Grace Simone going 4-for-4 with a double and an RBI, Katie Abreu went 2-for-4 with two runs, and Katie Mills had two hits, including a double, and an RBI. Colleen Larson pitched 5.1 innings for the Tigers, allowing four runs with three strikeouts. Freshman Bella Berg struck out one and allowed two runs in 1.2 innings of relief. Lucy Creedon went 3-for-4 for Milford with a double, two runs and two RBI while Amanda Wenckus added two this, an RBI, and a run scored.

Boys Lacrosse
Oliver Ames, 9 @ Canton, 6 – FinalOliver Ames coach Ben Devlin raved about the defensive work of seniors Matt Saba, Tyler Campbell, Shane Murphy and Cullen Gallagher and said junior Nick Gillis played great in net to help the Tigers score a win on the road at Canton. Shane Kilkelly, Remi Creighton, and Sandro Masciarelli each scored twice to pace the OA offense.

Attleboro, 1 @ King Philip, 15 – FinalKing Philip seniors Andrew Sajdak and Colin DeVellis combined for 13 points as the Warriors ran away with a win against visiting Attleboro. Sajdak had four goals and three assists, DeVellis scored a hat trick and had three helpers, junior Matt Minkwitz added two goals and two assists, junior Matt Meehan scored twice with one assist, and Senior Robbie Tartaglia, Sam Mattson and Andrew Longobardi (first career goal) each scored once. Andrew McKinney made seven saves in net.

Foxboro, 8 @ Mansfield, 9 – Final (OT)Mansfield scored three goals in the final 1:12 of play to tie the game and then scored 16 seconds into overtime to stun Foxboro with an overtime win. Senior Aidan Sacco (three goals, assist) scored back-to-back goals to bring the Hornets within one and sophomore Nico Holmes (two goals, assist) scored with 10 seconds left to send the game into overtime. Holmes won the overtime face-off and found senior Connor Quirk (two goals) for the game-winner for the Hornets. Sophomores Jake Quirk and Matt Copponi each scored once for the Hornets, who trailed 5-2 at half and 7-5 entering the fourth. Senior Pete Conley had three goals and three assists while junior Shayne Kerrigan scored twice for the Warriors.

Stoughton, 5 @ Milford, 12 – FinalSophomore Evan Hazard made nine saves in net and senior Ryan Hazard paced the offense with four points as the Scarlet Hawks defeated visiting Stoughton. Hazard had three goals and an assist while senior Josh Ligor and senior Brendan White each scored two and had one helper.

Girls Lacrosse
King Philip, 18 @ Attleboro, 5 – FinalJess Sullivan and Caroline Klim each scored four goals to power the Warriors to a big road win. Sullivan also added three assists to complete a seven-point day. Lily Brown scored three goals and had an assist and Olivia Tormey had a pair of goals and a pair of helpers. Mackenzie Mazur had two goals and an assist, while Julia Marsden, Jenna Hitchen, and Ali Wilson each found the back of the net once. Caroline Watson recorded five saves for KP.

Canton, 12 @ Oliver Ames, 17 – Final – Oliver Ames avenged a non-league loss to Canton from earlier in the season, earning a win in the league meeting against the Bulldogs. The Tigers had six players register points, led by senior Olivia Piazza’s six goals and one assist. Junior Ella Hogan added five goals, sophomore Emma Pereira scored three goals, and junior Olivia Carroll, junior Sam Cathie, and sophomore Emma Sharkansky each scored once in what OA head coach Nicole Lang called “a great overall team effort.” Senior Maddie Kullen made 13 saves in the win.

Mansfield, 13 @ Foxboro, 20 – FinalMansfield kept it close until the final 10 minutes when the Warriors went on a big run to close out the game and stay unbeaten in the league. Katy Garvin scored six times for the Hornets and Maggie Danehy added three goals. Kerry McCabe, Lauren Whitman, Annemarie McCoy, and Hayleigh Crawford all scored once for Mansfield.

Franklin, 20 @ Taunton, 2 – FinalFranklin junior Kelsey MacCallum scored her 100th career goal as the Panthers rolled on the road. Freshman Jill Fenerty dominated in the midfield for Franklin with five draws and two ground balls while sophomore Ali Socci netted her first career goal for Franklin.

Milford, 11 @ Norwood, 13 – FinalMilford cut a four-goal deficit down to one but couldn’t overtake the Mustangs on their home field. Emily Haley and Annie Flanagan each scored three goals, Riley Campbell and Sophia Bucal both scored twice, and Elena Bon Tempo found the back of the net once for the Hawks, who got back into the game behind some timely saves from Savannah Rosado and draw control from Annie Flanagan.

North Attleboro, 5 @ Sharon, 15 – FinalThe Eagles dominated the center circle, winning 17-of-21 draw controls, to sweep the season series with North Attleboro and jump into second place in the Davenport division. Rose Wald made nine saves to help secure the win. Emma Eberhardt scored four goals and assisted on two others, while Bridget McManus added four goals and one helper and Jenna Goldstein recorded a hat trick. Mia Lappen (one assist) and Maeve Barbera each scored twice for Sharon.

Boys Tennis
Sharon, 5 @ Attleboro, 0 – FinalSharon didn’t drop a game in any of the three singles matches and won both doubles matches in straight sets to defeat Attleboro. Senior Danujan Thirumavalavan (first singles), junior Alberto Olivei (second), and freshman Rueman Bhattacharyya (third) each won 6-0, 6-0. Sharon’s first doubles team of Max Brody and Max Chen earned a 6-1, 6-0 win while Alex Aspel and Jake Ross prevailed 6-3, 6-1 at second doubles.

Canton, 1 @ Taunton, 4 – FinalTaunton won two matches in each singles and doubles action to secure a win over Canton in a competitive contest. Brett Beaulieu won 6-3, 2-6, 6-2 at first singles and Dylan Kullas took a 6-1, 7-5 win at third singles. The team of Trevor Hart and Alex Pugh prevailed 6-1, 6-3 at first doubles while Barrett Hodgson and Tyler Goddard won 7-6, 6-2 at second doubles for Taunton. Canton sophomore Minh Duong battled to a 7-5, 1-6, 6-2 win at second singles.

Foxboro, 1 @ Franklin, 4 – FinalThe Panthers earned wins at first and second singles and swept doubles action to protect home court against Foxboro. Liam Marr won 6-0, 6-1 at first singles while Rohan Herur took a 6-0, 6-3 decision at second singles. The team of  Lucas Gulick and Vayshnav Malhotra won 6-1, 6-1 at first doubles for the Panthers while Saket Gandham and Shoumik Sompally earned a 6-2, 1-6, 6-4 win at second doubles. Foxboro’s Bo Canfield won 6-0, 6-2 at third singles.

North Attleboro, 2 @ King Philip, 3 – FinalKing Philip senior Marco DiStefano emerged victorious in a three-set battle at second singles to give the Warriors a win over North Attleboro in a battle of top teams in the league. DiStefano earned a 6-3, 3-6, 6-0 win, Nick Putney took a 6-2, 6-3 win at first singles for KP, and Nate Ihley and Zak Ryan won 6-4, 6-1 at first doubles. North Attleboro’s Sam Gallagher earned a 6-3, 6-1 win at third singles while Saketh Uppuluri and Justin Strom prevailed 7-5, 5-7, 7-6 at second doubles.

Milford, 4 @ Oliver Ames, 1 – FinalOliver Ames sophomore Yusaf Hameed won his second straight match, earning a 6-2, 7-5 decision at second singles for the Tigers.

Stoughton, 1 @ Mansfield, 4 – FinalMansfield took two wins in singles action and two more in doubles competition to secure a win. Luke Nickerson won 6-2, 6-2 at first singles while Luke Devine picked up a 6-4, 6-3 win at second singles. The team of Max Bank and Sethu Odayappan won 6-1, 6-2 at first doubles while the team of Dheeraj Valluru and Sam Donnellan walked away with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at second doubles. Stoughton freshman Anish Sinha picked up a 7-6 (7-3), 6-2 win at third singles.

Girls Tennis
Attleboro, 1 @ Sharon, 4 – FinalSharon’s singles players dropped a combined three games and the Eagles added another win in doubles competition to defend home court against Attleboro. Seniors Nupur Shukla (first singles) and Sophia Fein (third) each won 6-0, 6-0 while sophomore Charlize Martinez pulled out a 6-0, 6-2 win at second singles. The team of Lauren Glass and Sachi Basin earned the fourth point for Sharon, winning 6-3, 6-1 at first doubles. Attleboro’s Rena Danho and Jordan Bernardo picked up a 6-2, 6-1 win at second doubles.

Taunton, 2 @ Canton, 3 – FinalCanton emerged with a victory in a battle of two talented teams, taking two wins in singles play and one more in doubles action. Rachel Kupferman won 6-0, 6-0 at first singles, Natalie Keppler earned a 6-3, 6-1 win at second singles, and the team of Kiara Cerruti and Lily Hazam prevailed 6-1, 6-2 at second doubles for the Bulldogs. Taunton’s Jocelyn Pagliuca won 6-1, 7-5 at third singles while Sam Martin and Brianna Fevrier picked up a 6-0, 6-0 win at first doubles.

Franklin, 0 @ Foxboro, 5 – FinalFoxboro won all five matches in straight sets to defend home court against visiting Franklin. Pam Nelson (first singles) and Sarah Prag (second) each won 6-0, 6-0 while Paige Krockta battled to a 7-6 (7-5), 7-5 win at third singles. The team of Kendall Milender and Julia Muise notched a 6-0, 6-0 win at first doubles while Maggie McAuliffe and Kethry Milne teamed up for a 6-1, 6-2 win at second doubles.

King Philip, 4 @ North Attleboro, 1 – FinalKing Philip swept singles action and tacked on one more win at second doubles to earn a road win over North. Erin Regnier earned a 6-0, 6-0 win at first singles, Katarina Schneider took a 6-2, 6-1 win at second singles, and Mia Valencia won 6-1, 6-3 at third singles. The team of Isabella MacMeans and Meghan Powers secured a 6-3, 5-7, 6-4 win at second doubles. North Attleboro’s Sam Martino and Haley Strom prevailed 6-3, 6-3 at first doubles.

Oliver Ames, 5 @ Milford, 0 – FinalOliver Ames went on the road and won all five matches in straight sets to secure a victory over Milford. Sarah Leger won 6-0, 6-3 at first singles, Maura Kiernan picked up a 6-3, 6-1 win at second singles, and Kate McCormick earned a 6-2, 6-4 decision at third singles. The team of Eva Belanger and Morgan Vasiliou picked up a 6-3, 6-0 win at first doubles while OA’s second doubles team of Erika Mekler and Sarah Barron secured a 6-2, 6-2 victory.

Mansfield, 4 @ Stoughton, 1 – FinalMansfield picked up two wins in singles competition and two more in doubles action to beat the Black Knights. Lizzy Elsner (first singles) and Kate Martin (second) each won 6-1, 6-1, the team of Hannah Podolske and Sam Sternburg picked up a 6-0, 6-0 win at first doubles, and Lauren Hobaica teamed up with Alex Burnham for a 6-1, 6-2 win at second doubles for the Hornets. Stoughton’s Jess Podesta rallied for a 2-6, 6-4, 12-10 win at third singles.

Boys Volleyball
King Philip, 3 @ Norton, 0 – FinalThe Warriors improved to 10-2 on the season with its second sweep of Norton of the season, winning 3-0 (25-22, 25-19, 25-19). Jimmy Peterson and Eric Altobello each had eight kills to pace the offense while Mike O’Brien had five kills and a block in his first game playing middle. Kyle Desrochers (10 digs) and Max Armour (eight digs) anchored the defense while Alex Bernhard finished with 14 service points.

Milford, 3 @ Millis, 0 – FinalMilford picked up its 11th win of the season with a 3-0 sweep (25-16, 25-19, 25-16) on the road at Millis. Tiago Filadelfo paced the Hawks offense with seven kills and four digs while Zach Browne added nine kills and four digs.

Taunton, 3 vs. New Bedford, 0 – FinalTaunton defended home court, sweeping visiting New Bedford, 3-0 (25-8, 25-15, 25-20). Sophomore Tyler Stewart netted a team-high 13 kills and two blocks, Gage Kingman notched six kills, 13 digs, a block, and an ace, and Chris LaCourse chipped in with 23 assists and three blocks.

Attleboro, 11 @ Oliver Ames, 1 – Final (6 inn.) Attleboro scored scored once in the second, added three runs in each the third and fifth innings and put the game out of reach with a four-run sixth inning to walk out of Frothingham Park with an 11-1 over the Tigers. Senior Eoin Kelleher shined on the mound as well as at the dish to pace the Bombardiers. He went six innings, scattering four hits and striking out six with one run allowed. He added a double, an RBI, and a run scored offensively while Sam Larkin (two RBI), Tim Callahan (two RBI), and Mason Houle (double, RBI) each had a pair of hits for Attleboro.

Canton, 2 @ Stoughton, 4 – FinalCanton jumped out to a 2-0 lead but Stoughton scored four runs, all on two-out hits, over the final three innings to earn the win. The Bulldogs took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second and made it 2-0 in the top fo the fifth. In the bottom half, Robbie Seaman (2-for-3) connected for a two-out, two-run single to knot the score. The Black Knights added two more runs in the bottom of the sixth to take the lead. Sophomore Brady Conlin (2-for-3) led off with a single and pinch-runner Jake Queeney came around to score on a two-out single from Mike Nazzaro (2-for-3). Zak Paquette then knocked in Nazzaro to make it 4-2. Paquette earned the win on the mound, tossing a complete game allowing six hits with two runs (0 ER), two strikeouts, and three walks.

Foxboro, 7 @ Milford, 8 – FinalMilford sophomore Carter Scudo put the ball in play and senior Matt Shaver scored from third as the Scarlet Hawks walked off with a win over visiting Foxboro. The Warriors held a 7-6 lead entering the final inning but were done in by three fielding errors in the bottom of the seventh. Scudo finished with a double, RBI, and a run scored while senior Tyler Almeida drew three walks and scored twice. Danny Corsini went five innings on the mound for the Hawks while Nick Marcolini earned the win in relief, allowing one hit and striking out one in two innings of work. Foxboro’s Michael Devlin went 3-for-4 with two runs and an RBI, Brian Duncan added three hits, an RBI, and a run scored, and Joe Cavaleri and Sean Yoest each recorded two RBI for Foxboro.

King Philip, 1 @ Taunton, 0 – Final (10 inn.)Both King Philip starter David Morganelli and Taunton starter Logan Lawrence pitched into extra innings in a terrific pitchers’ duel on Wednesday afternoon. The Warriors were able to string together three hits in the 10th, the last being an RBI single from Morganelli to score Matt Munnafo for the winning run. Morganelli tossed 8.1 scoreless innings, striking out five while allowing five hits and two walks. Chris Sawyer earned the win in relief with 1.2 scoreless innings. Taunton junior Logan Lawrence pitched eight scoreless innings for the Tigers, scattering three hits and two walks while striking out seven.

Softball
Oliver Ames, 2 @ Attleboro, 15 – Final (5 inn.)Attleboro’s Makenzie Killough had four hits, including a home run, and McKenzie Bergdoll allowed just three hits as the Bombardiers earned a win over visiting Oliver Ames. The Tigers scored a run in each the first and second innings but the Bombardiers’ offense proved to be too much. Killough also had two doubles and finished with two RBI, Kayla Baptiste went 3-for-3 with two RBI, Jordyn Lako had two hits, including a triple and three RBI, Lindsay Perry had a double and two RBI, and Bergdoll added two hits and two RBI at the plate. OA sophomore Grace Simone was 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored. Freshman Anna Balestino was 1-for-2 with an RBI while senior Colleen Larson scored the other run for OA.

Canton, 4 @ Stoughton, 7 – FinalStoughton belted out 14 hits on its way its third win of the season, knocking off rival Canton, 7-4. Each player in the Black Knight recorded at least one hit with Karly Estremera leading the way with three. Jordan Lyons, Nikki Coppola and Lexi Baptista each had two hits for the Knights. Nicole Baker had another solid performance in the circle to earn the win. Canton’s Liz Bickett went 3-for-4 with a triple, a pair of singles, and two RBI for the Bulldogs.

Foxboro, 21 @ Milford, 5 – Final (5 inn.)Riley Martignetti had three hits and drove in five runs and freshman Peyton Feldman had three hits and three RBI from the lead-off spot to power Foxboro to a big win on the road. Camryn Willis also had three hits for the Warriors, while Morgan Sylvestre went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Emma Rohan went the distance in the circle to get the win. Foxboro coach Mark Maguire called it a complete team performance, as Foxboro got contributions throughout the lineup and all nine starters recorded at least one hit. Milford sophomore Carly Ferreira went 2-for-2 with two RBI, two runs scored and two triples while junior Amanda Wenckus smacked a two-run home run for the Hawks.

Franklin, 11 @ Mansfield, 6 – FinalMansfield scored three runs in the fifth and one in the sixth to cut Franklin’s lead to just three runs (8-5) but the Panthers responded with three runs in the top of the seventh to secure the lead and a win on the road. Franklin jumped out to an 8-0 lead, with Gabby Colace (2-for-2, double, three runs, five RBI) putting the Panthers ahead with a two-run home run in the second inning. The Panthers added five runs in the second and one in the fourth for the 8-0 advantage. After Mansfield cut it to 8-5 through six innings, Franklin senior Jackie Cherry launched a three-run home run to give the Panthers breathing room. Ally Shea (double), Anna Balkus, Peyton Aronne (two RBI), and Maddy White (RBI, run) each had two hits for Franklin. Mansfield left runners on base in every inning but the fourth, including leaving the bases loaded in the first, third, and the seventh. Ella Verheggen went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBI in the loss and the Hornets also got two hits apiece from Mary Muldoon and Sarah Cahill. Emma Roche came off the bench with her first hit of the year to start a sixth inning rally.

Annabelle Hebard paced North Attleboro’s offense by going 4-for-5 with two doubles and four RBI. Ashley Cangiano and Belle Clarkin each had three hits while Emily Nardelli (home run), Katy Daby, Erti, Alex Moulson and Emma Bailey each had two hits. North freshman Mandi Hanewich had a hit, stolen base, RBI, and a run scored. Julia Earley hit a two-run homer for the Eagles in the third inning.

Canton, 7 @ Sharon, 8 – FinalClick here for a Photo Gallery from this game. 0 The Eagles took control of the game with a 4-0 run in the second half that turned a 5-3 halftime deficit into a 7-5 lead with eight minutes to play. Sharon made a defensive stand over the final minute to keep the Bulldogs out and hold on for the victory. Rowan Barnes had a goal and assist in the first quarter as Sharon jumped out to a 2-0 lead. Tommy Vaughan scored to cut the lead in half and then had a behind the back pass to David Allen for the tying goal early in the second. Vaughan then forced a turnover that led to a Chris Lavoie goal to put Canton in front 3-2, but Dan Lillenfeld responded immediately, catching the Bulldogs in transition, to tie it. In the final minute of the half, Griffin Roach and Matt Martin each scored to make it 5-3. Lillenfeld scored the lone goal of the third quarter to make it 5-4 and the Eagles tied it on a Drew Litner goal early in the fourth. Litner added his second to put Sharon ahead and Lillenfeld secured his hat trick with Sharon’s seventh. Roach got Canton back within one but Zack Waxman scored a man-up goal to double the lead. Vaughan got free for his second goal with two minutes left and Canton had possession in the final minute of the game but Adam Rabb made a big save and the Eagles held on.

Milford, 9 @ Attleboro, 8 – Final (OT)Milford’s Josh Ligor scored the game-winner in overtime to deliver the Scarlet Hawks a dramatic win on the road. Ryan Hazard paced the Hawks’ offense with five goals and an assist while Brendan White scored twice and Mike Demko had one goal. Milford coach Jacob Scordato said Danny Farrell and Jack LeBlanc had great defensive performances in front of Evan Hazard (22 saves).

Franklin, 20 @ North Attleboro, 6 – FinalFranklin senior Jacob Alexander won 21-of-27 faceoffs, helping the Panthers control possession in a 20-6 win on the road at North Attleboro. Matt Lazzaro paced the Panther offense with five seven goals and four assists, Jake Davis added five goals, Ben Greco chipped in with two goals and two assists, and Alexander added a pair of goals and assists in the win.

Mansfield, 5 @ Oliver Ames, 11 – FinalMansfield scored the first goal of the game but Oliver Ames rattled off seven straight to take a commanding lead at halftime and never surrendered that advantage. OA junior Shane Kilkelly scored three goals and assisted on four more while Colin Bourne had a strong game with four goals. Sam Stevens and Sandro Mascierelli each added a pair of goals while Nick Gillis made 13 saves in goal. Mike Reed scored twice and had an assist for the Hornets, Aidan Sacco scored once and had one helper, and Tom Norton and Brad Grant each scored once.

Girls Lacrosse
Attleboro, 13 @ Milford, 14 – FinalAnnie Flanagan scored five times and Emily Haley added four to lead the Hawks to a come from behind victory. Milford scored the game’s final four goals, including Flanagan’s winner with only 35 seconds remaining. Elena Bon Tempo and Riley Campbell each scored twice for the hosts, Sophia Bucal added one, and goalie Savanna Rosado made critical saves down the stretch to help the Hawks come out on top. Attleboro’s Kyra Lyons scored a game-high 10 goals while Rylee Fontes added two and Sydney DiLiddo added one for the Bombardiers.

Sharon, 8 @ Canton, 5 – FinalRose Wald made nine saves in goal and the midfield collected 13-of-15 draw controls, including a team-high six by Bridget McManus, to help the Eagles hold off Canton in a big Davenport matchup. The Sharon attack clicked today, with five of the eight goals coming off assists. Emma Eberhardt was involved in all eight goals, scoring five and assisting on three others. Jenna Goldstein scored twice, Cass Barbera added one, and Mia Lappen had an assist for the Eagles. Kaitlyn Goyetch scored a hat trick for Canton in the loss.

Foxboro, 14 vs. Bishop Feehan, 6 – Final

North Attleboro, 3 @ Franklin, 19 – FinalFranklin notched its third win of the season with a big victory at home over visiting North Attleboro. Annie Walsh led the way with five goals and two assists while Kelsey MacCallum scored six goals with one helper. Franklin coach Kristin Igoe Guarino said Hailey Toolin had a strong day in the midfield and on defense with three draw controls.

Oliver Ames, 9 @ Mansfield, 15 – FinalClick here for a photo gallery of this game. – Mansfield pulled away in the second half to earn the Kelley-Rex division win. The Hornets led 7-5 at the half and just 9-8 early in the second half but closed the game on a 6-1 run to seal the victory. Katie Garvin scored seven times for Mansfield and Hayleigh Crawford added four. Katie McCarthy made three saves in the win and the Hornets got strong play on draw controls by Lauren Whitman. Maddie Kullen had a big game for the Tigers to keep the game close and head coach Nicole Lang rued OA’s inability to capitalize on the offensive opportunities it created.

King Philip, 19 @ Taunton, 7 – FinalNine different players scored for the Warriors in a big road win. Caroline Klim led the way with five goals and Dana Truini added four for KP. Ali Wilson had two goals and Jessica Sullivan scored twice and assisted on a third, while Victoria Tormey and Jenna Hitchen each scored once. Three players scored their first varsity goals for the Warriors. Haley Izydorczak had her first two goals and an assist, Lily Brown scored her first goal and had an assist, and Julia Marsden opener her varsity account with a goal as well.

Stoughton, 2 @ Canton, 3 – FinalCanton freshman Suraj Ramanathan won his third match of the year at first singles, picking up a 6-0, 6-4 win to pace the Bulldogs to a win over Stoughton. Sophomore Minh Duong added a 6-1, 6-0 win at second singles and the team of Tyler Duffy and Justin Luk were winners at second doubles won 6-1, 6-4 at second doubles for the Bulldogs. Stoughton freshman Anish Sinha won 3-6, 6-3, 12-10 at third singles while the team of Hassan Khan and LJ Ferrandiz secured a 6-0, 6-2 win at first doubles.

Milford, 1 @ Foxboro, 4 – FinalFoxboro earned a pair of wins in both singles and doubles action to pick up a 4-1 victory over visiting Milford. Sophomore Jason Kandula won 7-5, 6-4 at second singles and freshman Bo Canfield earned a 6-1, 6-4 decision at third singles for the Warriors. The team of senior Brian Gardner and junior Sean McAvoy won 6-0, 6-1 at first singles while junior Noah Hicks and sophomore Justin Neale prevailed 6-1, 6-0 at second doubles. Milford’s Brendan O’Shaughnessy won 7-6 (3), 6-7 (4), 10-5 in a hard fought match at first singles.

Rohan Herur was the lone singles winner for the Panthers, earning a 6-0, 6-1 win at second singles. The team of senior Saketh Saripalli and freshman Vayshnav Malhotra won 6-0, 6-2 at first doubles and juniors Shoyaib Shaik and Shoumik Sompally prevailed 7-6 (3), 7-5 at second doubles. Mansfield’s Luke Nickerson won 7-5, 6-1 at first singles and Nilay Pangrekar scored a 6-0, 6-4 win at third singles.

North Attleboro, 1 @ Sharon, 4 – FinalNorth Attleboro sophomore Jonah Manso prevailed in a three-set match at first singles but Sharon picked up wins in the other two singles matches while sweeping doubles play. Junior Alberto Olivei won 6-0, 6-0 at second singles and freshman Rueman Bhattacharyya secured a 6-4, 6-1 victory at third singles. Sharon’s Max Brody and Max Chen earned a 6-3, 6-0 win at first doubles while Alex Aspel and Jake Ross prevailed 4-6, 7-6, 7-5 in a tight match at second doubles. Manso won 7-6, 1-6, 6-1 at first singles for Big Red.

The Bulldogs scored four runs in the fifth to make it 6-4 and then took the lead with a four-run sixth inning. Senior Michael Konzal had a single, a triple, and two RBI while senior Matt Pigeon added a single, two walks, and two RBI. Sophomore Nate Hewitt earned the win on the mound.

Oliver Ames, 1 @ Taunton, 0 – FinalOliver Ames senior Reid Latham pitched a complete game two-hitter to give the visiting Tigers a win over Taunton. Latham didn’t issue any walks, struck out four, and allowed just two singles. OA scored in the fifth inning when Sean O’Brien hit an RBI triple to score Justin Sarnecki. OA coach Joe Abarr said senior CJ Deveau made a excellent catch in left field in end the sixth inning and keep the lead.

Andrew Sajdak had a team-high four goals while Colin DeVellis scored twice and had two assists. Robbie Tartaglia added two goals and an assist while Sam Mattson and Aidan Bender each scored once. Andrew McKinney made six saves in goal for KP.

Franklin had 13 players register a point in the win, led by junior Kelsey MacCallum (five goals, two assists) and freshman Jackie O’Neil (two goals, four assists). Freshman Kenzie Baker scored four goals while freshman Jill Fenerty had a strong game in the midfield with six draw controls. Kyra Lyons, Sydney DiLiddo, and Rylee Fontes each scored for the Bombardiers.

Sharon, 6 @ King Philip, 16 – FinalCaroline Klim scored seven goals and assisted on one for the Warriors, as they opened the season with a big win in a rematch of last year’s playoff opener. Olivia Tormey had a hat trick and two assists and Jess Sullivan had two goals and an assist in the win. Dana Truini also scored twice for KP, while Victoria Tormey and Jenna Hitchen each scored once. Caroline Watson earned the win in net with 10 saves. Emma Eberhardt led the Eagles with four goals, an assist, and five draw controls. Rose Wald made 11 saves to keep Sharon in the game. Jenna Goldstein and Maxine Gordon each scored once in the loss.

Taunton, 10 @ Oliver Ames, 17 – FinalOliver Ames senior Olivia Piazza dominated at draws and led the team in scoring to give the Tigers a visit over Taunton. Piazza had 16 draw controls and scored eight goals while Ella Hogan had a nice game with four goals and one assist for OA. Olivia Carroll, Emma Pereira, and Emma Sharkansky also scored for OA.

Mansfield, 9 vs. Holliston, 16 – FinalKatie Garvin led the Hornets with five goals in a season-opening loss. Lauren Whitman and Maggie Danehy each scored twice for Mansfield, which also got five saves from Katie McCarthy. Holliston’s top two attackers scored four goals apiece, but first-year coach Lauryn Wilkie praised the defensive effort for blocking off a number of drives to the net.

Pam Nelson won 6-0, 6-0 at first singles, Sarah Prag picked up a 6-1, 6-0 win at second singles, and Julia Muise earned a 6-0, 6-1 decision at third singles. The team of Kendall Milender and Paige Krockta prevailed 6-2, 7-6 (7-4) at first doubles and the team of Maggie McAuliffe and Lindsey Nelson won 6-1, 6-1 at second doubles.

Oliver Ames, 2 vs. Norton, 3 – FinalOliver Ames won one match in singles play and one in doubles action but suffered a 3-2 setback against Norton. Junior Maura Kiernan won 6-0, 6-3 at first singles while the team of senior Kathryn McCarthy and junior Sarah Barron won 6-0, 6-3 at second doubles.

King Philip, 3 @ Assabet Valley, 0 – FinalIn just its second varsity game, King Philip picked up the program’s first ever win with a 3-0 sweep (25-14, 25-22, 25-17) on the road at Assabet Valley. Senior setter Cam Corey paced the offense with 27 assists, senior Eric Altobello had a team-high 10 kills, and senior Jimmy Peterson added eight kills. KP coach Emily Tkowski said sophomore Aidan Lindmark played a huge role for the Warriors with strong right side defense and five digs.

Milford, 3 @ Medfield, 0 – FinalMilford earned a sweep (25-19, 25-15, 25-14) on the road at Medfield. Clayton Pickett and Zach Browne each had five kills, Lucas Caetano had 10 assists and seven aces for the Scarlet Hawks.

Taunton, 3 @ New Bedford, 0 – FinalTaunton went on the road and earned a 3-0 sweep (25-20, 28-26, 25-18) win over New Bedford. Gage Kingman paced the offense with 14 kills, 17 digs, and four aces. Sophomore Tyler Stewart added eight kills and a block while Chris LaCourse had a strong game with 26 assists, an ace, and a block.

Sharon, 3 @ Foxboro, 2 – FinalFoxboro’s Steve McLaughlin had a strong outing, allowing just three hits over six innings of work and no earned runs. He struck out seven in the Warriors’ loss.

North Attleboro, 11 @ Canton, 5 – FinalCanton held a 2-1 lead after an inning of play but North Attleboro’s offense proved to be too much. The Rocketeers tied and then took the lead with four runs in the fourth inning and never looked back. Nate Pearce’s sacrifice fly scored Nick Sinacola to tie it and Nick Raneri had a two-run single to plate Jeff Gale and Zach DeMattio (two hits, RBI) to take the lead. Raneri (four RBI) went on to add another two-out two-RBI single in the sixth inning and the Rocketeers tacked on three runs in the seventh inning for insurance. Brendan McHugh was on base five times (hit, four walks), scored twice and had an RBI. Sinacola got the win on the mound, striking out six in six innings of work, retiring the side in the third, fourth, and fifth innings.

Milford, 4 @ Stoughton, 5 – FinalStoughton senior Ruben Gonzalez put his speed to good use for the Black Knights, stealing third and then coming home for the winning run on an errant throw to help the Black Knights walk off with a win. Gonzalez had two hits, three runs, and three stolen bases to pace Stoughton. He also earned the win on the mound, throwing 0.2 innings with a strikeout. Robbie Seaman went 2-for-2, including a double, with two runs and a stolen base, Mike Nazzaro had two hits and two RBI, and Matt Hadley chipped in with an RBI double for the Black Knights. Milford’s Danny Corsini tossed six innings, allowing just three earned runs.

Softball
Attleboro, 1 @ King Philip, 9 – FinalThe game was tied at 1-1 in the fourth, but the Warriors broke the game wide open with an eight-run inning. Faith Turinese singled to start that rally and then also hit a two-run homer in the same inning. Jess Bonner also had a pair of hits, including a homer, and Brooke Taute and Nicole Carter had a pair of hits apiece for the Warriors. Elise Pereira allowed only one hit in four innings of work, which was a home run off the bat of Attleboro’s McKenzie Bergdoll. Turinese pitched the final three innings and allowed only two hits and no runs.

Canton, 0 @ North Attleboro, 12 – Final (6 Inn.)The Rocketeers bounced back from a tough loss to King Philip with a shutout of the Bulldogs. Bella Erti struck out 12 and allowed only three hits to earn the win. Olivia Capobianco scored a pair of runs, while Emily Nardelli, Annabelle Hebard, and Andrea Miceli each had two hits for North. Kasey Papineau, Gina Manganaro, and Jaclyn Buckley each had one hit in the win.

Foxboro, 11 @ Sharon, 1 – FinalAlli Small scored the lone run of the game for the Eagles.

Maddie White went 4-for-4 at the play, including a three-run home run for the Panthers. Ally Shea went 3-for-4, Anna Balkus added two hits, two runs, and an RBI, and Tara Hartnett chipped in with two hits and three RBI. Molly Collins scored three runs as a courtesy runner for Franklin. Caroline Mahoney went 2-for-3 and scored a run in the loss. Kayla Georgeu was 1-for-2 with an RBI-double and Lexie Campbell scored OA’s other run.

Taunton, 7 @ Mansfield, 1 – FinalJaylin Couto earned her fourth win of the season with a complete game, striking out eight. Jaime Brown was 2-for-4 for the Tigers with three runs scored and one RBI. Taunton also got a pair of hits from McKenzie McAloon and Payton Ceglarski and one hit and two RBI from Kya Enos. The Hornets had seven hits as a team and had base runners in all but the first inning, but couldn’t find the big hit with runners on base. Sydney Woods and Mady Bendanillo each went 2-for-3 and Caty DeMassi, Ella Verheggen, and Mary Muldoon each had one hit for Mansfield.

Stoughton, 0 @ Milford, 12 – Final (5 Inn.)Kate Irwin slapped three hits, including the 100th of her career, and scored two runs to help the Hawks beat visiting Stoughton. Emily Piergustavo (three RBI, run), Emily Hartman (triple, three RBI), Jess Tomaso (two runs), Shannon Cormier (run) and Kelley Reichert (two RBI) each had a pair of hits for Milford. Reichert earned the win in the circle, striking out six while allowing just two hits.

Abbi Solomon had two goals and two assists, Jenna Goldstein had two goals, and Maeve Barbera had one assist for the Eagles.

Franklin, 18 @ North Attleboro, 5 – FinalFranklin sophomore Erin Walsh recorded six points and classmate Kelsey MacCallum added five points as the Panthers picked up a big win on the road. Walsh had five goals and one assist while MacCallum scored three times and had two helpers. Alex Field played well defensively for the Panthers with three ground balls and two caused turnovers while sophomore Gianna Cameron made eight saves in net. Kayla Moulin made 10 saves for North and head coach Colleen Carchedi said that the defense played “awesome” but that the Rocketeers couldn’t get the attack going. Marcolini led off the eighth with a walk, stole second, and advanced to third. He came in to score the winning run on a sacrifice fly from Colby Pires. In a relief appearance, Marcolini tossed three scoreless innings with two strikeouts to get the win. Luke Rosa was the starter for Milford, allowing two runs in five innings with four strikeouts. Matt Swanson added two hits, including a double and a run scored, for the Hawks.

Oliver Ames, 13 @ Foxboro, 4 – FinalFoxboro held a 4-2 lead after an inning of play but OA chipped away and used five runs in the third inning to seize an 8-4 lead and never looked back. Jack Erlich went 3-for-3 with three runs and two RBI and Mitch Goulet had three hits, including a pair of doubles, and four RBI. Mansfield, 3 @ North Attleboro, 1 – FinalMansfield senior Kevin Dow had a dominating performance on the mound, throwing a complete game with just two hits allowed and no walked and one unearned run allowed to lead the Hornets to a win over previously unbeaten North Attleboro. Dow struck out nine and didn’t issue a walk to get the win. Offensively, Dow went 2-for-4 and had an RBI triple in the third inning that put Mansfield up 2-0. Dow then scored on an RBI single from senior Tyler Dalton. Mansfield took the lead in the top of the second when Cullin Anastasia scored. Zach DeMattio and Brendan McHugh (run) each had a hit for Big Red.

The Hawks took a 5-3 advantage into the sixth before exploding for six runs. Jess Tomaso (2-for-4, three RBI) hit a home run in the sixth for her 100th career hit. Emily Piergustavo added two hits, two runs, and four RBI, Maddy Bonvino went 3-for-4 with a double, triple, and two-run home run and Kate Irwin had three hits, three runs, and an RBI for the Scarlet Hawks. Kelley Reichert got the win in the circle, striking out nine. Attleboro leadoff hitter Jordyn Lako went 4-for-4 with two runs scored and MacKenzie Killough blasted a two-run home run in the third inning.

North Attleboro, 7 @ Mansfield, 1 – FinalNorth Attleboro broke open a two-run game with four runs in the last two innings to make it two wins in two days for the Rocketeers. Bella Erti struck out 11, allowing only four hits and no walks to pick up the win. Abby Warren and Olivia Capobianco paced the North offense with three hits apiece, while Ashley Cangiano and Katie Daby each had two hits. Katherine Munley came through with a couple of nice grabs in the field, according to North coach Bill Wallace, and Cangiano threw out her third runner attempting to steal in two days. Mary Muldoon drove in the lone Mansfield run in the second, singling in Caty DeMassi. Kara Bendanillo went 2-for-3 for the Hornets.

John Cooney opened the scoring on an assist from Sean Lanzillo in the eighth minute and just three minutes later, Jared Gabrilowitz made it 2-0 on a feed from Cullin Anastasia. Nick Wisnieski converted a chance from Gabrilowitz in the 22nd minute to make it 3-0. Franklin got on the board when sophomore Sam Stowell converted a penalty kick in the 38th minute. Sophomore Lucas Mauro netted Franklin’s second goal off an assist from Nasir Brahimi. Nick Ferraz made six saves in net for Mansfield.

King Philip, 1 @ Taunton, 0 – FinalKing Philip Connor Mullins converted a cross from Thomas Lugten inside the area in the first half to give the Warriors the win.

Sophomore Dylan Corrigan grabbed his first goal of the game in the sixth minute, and made it 3-0 in the 30th minute, burying a rebound chance after a terrific save from Stoughton keeper Carter Gerome. Mansfield, 0 @ Franklin, 3 – FinalFranklin had a strong, well-rounded attack to pick up a sweep against Mansfield. Ellie Wisniewski (ace), Meaghan Maguire (block) and Hailey Sanders all had eight kills apiece while Maggie Doyle (three blocks) added four kills. For Mansfield, Meg Hill added eight kills, Julia Harrison had six kills and Mikayla Kearney chipped in with 10 digs.

Canton, 154 @ North Attleboro, 157 – FinalSophomore Chris Lavoie fired a career-best 37 to lead Canton to a key division win over North Attleboro. Danny Powers, Joey Vaughan and Niko Donovan each carded rounds of 39 for the Bulldogs. Aidan Weir earned match medalist honors, shooting a 36 for North Attleboro.

Sharon, 174 @ Milford, 180 – FinalSharon’s Cory Carter earned match medalist honors, carding a round of 37 to lead the Eagles. Riley Lynch shot a team-low round of 42 for the Hawks.

Taunton, 304 @ Dighton-Rehoboth, 242 – Final Taunton’s Jack Patneaude shot a team-low round of 41 for the Tigers.

King Philip, 1 @ Canton, 2 – FinalCanton junior Griffin Roach scored a pair of goals to lead the Bulldogs to a big win over visiting King Philip. Roach scored the opening goal in the 17th minute after a shot from Avery Minkin was deflected. In the second half, Roach doubled the lead when his shot from just inside the area was deflected into the top corner. KP scored in the 73rd minute when sophomore Brian McCarthy’s cross was headed home at the far post by senior Jack Bush.

Franklin, 1 @ Foxboro, 2 – FinalFoxboro’s Ryan Kelley had a hand in both of the Warriors goals, recording a goal and an assist in the win. Kelley scored the opener inside the first five minutes, smashing home a rebound on a shot from Cam Cass. Early in the second half, Kelley played Nic Beigel in, who finished his chance to make it 2-0. Franklin responded within five minutes to cut the deficit in half but Foxboro held on for two points.

Mansfield, 2 @ Stoughton, 0 – Final Mansfield netted a pair of second half goals and senior Nick Ferraz made six saves to record his second shutout of the season. Cullin Anastasia put the visitors on the board midway through the second half by converting a penalty kick. Sam Hyland doubled the Hornets’ lead five minutes later when he finished off a corner kick from Luke Savoie.

Taunton, 0 @ Milford, 1 – FinalThe Scarlet Hawks netted the only goal of the game midway through the first half to earn their first win of the season. Junior Tiago Filadelfo nodded home a free kick service from sophomore Jordan Borges for his first career goal. Like Capobianco recorded the clean sheet in net for the Hawks. Milford head coach Brian Edwards said Leo Coelho had a strong game for the Hawks in midfield.

Oliver Ames, 1 @ North Attleboro, 1 – FinalNorth Attleboro got off to a great start, opening the scoring inside the first two minutes but Oliver Ames battled back to level the match before halftime, and that’s how it would finish. North Attleboro sophomore Dylan Corrigan scored his first career goal, finishing a pass from senior Josh Rodriguez. Head coach Geoff Burgess credited Joe Hilf with starting the counter attack that led to the goal. OA scored in the 33rd minute when senior Mason Galbato opened his 2017 account, finishing off a long throw with Nathaniel Cardoza assisting. OAHS head coach John Barata noted both Cam Vella and Chris Lawrence played great in the back for the Tigers.

Girls Soccer
Sharon, 1 @ Attleboro, 3 – FinalThe Bombardiers made it two wins in a row with what head coach Steve Santos called, “a great team win.” Freshmen Briley Harnois and Isabella Salviati scored for Attleboro to open a 2-0 lead at halftime. Sharon got one back from Ally Filipkowski before Hannah Meier sealed the points with Attleboro’s third. Santos said that Kara Thornton did a great job marking Filipkowski and praised the defensive effort of his captains Jordyn Forte, Morgan Laplume, and Julia Hayes.

Canton, 0 @ King Philip, 3 – FinalChloe Layne had a goal and an assist for the Warriors, who continue the unbeaten start to the season. Ally Stanton opened the scoring in the ninth minute and the score stayed 1-0 until eight minutes after the break when Avery Snead finished a Layne pass to double the lead. Ten minutes later, Layne got her goal from a Jenna Hitchen cross to wrap up the scoring. Emma Durant made two saves for KP and Warriors coach Gary Pichel said that the back line of Emma Corcoran, Olivia Berry, Lauren Anderson, and Kyliegh Remmis “were unbeatable today.”

Foxboro, 0 @ Franklin, 1 – FinalIn an even game, in which both teams had good scoring opportunities, the Panthers earned all two points thanks to a goal in the final minute by Calen Frongillo, assisted by Anna Balkus. A minute before the Franklin goal, the Warriors had a scoring chance of their own but were denied by a diving Cat Robbins save.

Stoughton, 0 @ Mansfield, 6 – FinalCassidy McMahon continued her strong start to the season with two goals and two assists to lead the Hornets to their third win of the season. Stephanie Kemp added a brace for Mansfield, which also got goals from Allison and Melissa Reef.

Milford, 2 @ Taunton, 1 – FinalMilford picked up its first win of the season behind goals from Juliana France (assisted by Maddy Boyle) and Hannah Martin (assisted by Kristina Chiarelli). Samantha Tichelaar scored the lone goal for the Tigers and Grace Pimenta made 10 saves.

Franklin, 1 @ Oliver Ames, 2 – FinalOliver Ames took a 2-1 lead before the halftime break and that was enough, with goalie Tigers’ Caitlin Grant recording eight saves in the win. Meaghan Rockey and Sarah Stevens each found the back of the net, both on assists from Cristina Boudreau. Franklin junior Ashley Reutlinger’s first goal of the season, on an assist from Cassi Ronan, tied the game in the first half before OA retook the lead. OA head coach Abby Tepper said Grant “played amazing in net” and also praised the defensive play of Sarah Tetrault.

Volleyball
Attleboro, 1 @ Sharon, 3 – Final

King Philip, 3 @ Canton, 0 – FinalKing Philip earned a sweep on the road, beating Canton 25-18, 25-13, 25-13. Reigning Hockomock League MVP Sydney Phillips led the Warriors’ charge with 18 kills while Michaela Palumbo added nine kills and Grace Ely chipped in with seven kills. Elise Pereira (seven digs) and Julianne Rando (six digs) paced KP’s defense. For Canton, Sophia Connor had a strong all-around game, hitting .429 with 10 digs and 2 aces. Taylor Harris added four aces, two kills and two blocks for the Bulldogs.

Franklin, 3 @ Foxboro, 0 – FinalFranklin picked up its second straight sweep, this time on the road at Foxboro. Riley Marino had 11 serve receptions, seven digs and three aces for the Panthers while FHS head coach Kate Horsmann said Lauren Lockhart had another smart hitting match, finishing with eight kills. Maggie Doyle added four kills, two blocks and an ace in the win.

Mansfield, 0 @ Stoughton, 3 – FinalStoughton defended its home court with a big win over Mansfield, recording a 25-3, 25-9, 28-26 sweep of the Hornets. Junior Molly Turner had a great all around game for the Knights with 13 assists, four blocks and 25 service points. Senior Val Whalen led the Stoughton offense with 15 kills. “We started strong and kept up a great defensive game to hold off the Hornets in the third set,” said SHS head coach Erica Batchelder.

Taunton, 3 @ Milford, 0 – FinalTaunton notched its first win of the season, holding off the Hawks in the third set to earn a 25-18, 25-19, 28-26 sweep. Sam Reaume led Taunton with 10 digs, seven kills, two blocks and an ace while Kayli Fagan finished with 20 assists, three kills, two assists and a block. THS head coach Toby Chaperon said Rawan Hamie and Sam Martin provided a spark up front and at the service line, and praised the defensive play of McKenzie Lucie, Jaime Brown and Elaine Bodemer.

Oliver Ames, 0 @ North Attleboro, 3 – FinalNorth Attleboro earned its third win of the season, and first sweep, fending off Oliver Ames with a 25-15, 25-22, 26-24 win. Amelia Murphy had a strong game for the Rocketeers with nine kills and four aces while Kezie De La Cru added eight kills and two aces. OA sophomore Jordyn Vella had four kills, two blocks and three aces for the Tigers.
