Franklin, 2 @ Taunton, 3 – FinalTaunton erased a pair of deficits and then scored the winner late in the second half to pull off a win over visiting Franklin. Franklin went up 1-0 on a goal from sophomore Erin Walsh on a feed from junior Ashley Reutlinger. Taunton tied the game on a goal from Liana Duarte, but Franklin regained the lead behind a tally from freshman Victoria Quinn, assisted by Cassi Ronan. Taunton senior Kya Enos scored the equalizer to make it 2-2 and senior Diana Brens scored the late winner for the Tigers. Taunton goalie Emma Sheehan (15 saves) received praise from both THS head coach Mike Fox and FHS head coach Lisa Cropper. Fox also noted the strong defensive play of Mabel Smith, Jocelyn Pagliuca, and Riley Murphy.

Oliver Ames, 0 @ King Philip, 1 – FinalAfter over 45 minutes of scoreless play, King Philip finally broke the deadlock with the lone goal of the game. KP senior Liz Furfari scored with 13:10 left on an assist from junior Caroline Klim.

Sharon, 2 @ Canton, 3 – FinalCanton overcame a 2-1 deficit to pick up a 3-2 win over visiting Sharon (25-14, 19-25, 25-27, 25-11, 15-12). Nicole Brown had 22 assists, five kills, and four aces for the Bulldogs while Hannah Jerrier had eight kills and four blocks, and Rose Hazam added five kills, two aces, and 18 digs.

Foxboro, 0 @ Milford, 3 – Final

Franklin, 3 @ Mansfield, 1 – FinalMansfield earned a big win in the first game, but Franklin rallied for three straight to earn the win (10-25, 25-10, 25-15, 25-20). FHS junior Lauren McGrath set the offense up with 40 assists and three aces, Hailey Sanders notched 11 kills and three blocks, Ellie Wisniewski had 10 kills and four aces and Maggie Doyle added nine kills and five blocks for the Panthers. For Mansfield, Meg Hill had 17 kills, Julia Harrison had 12 kills and Jolie O’Neil finished with 10 digs.

Stoughton, 1 @ North Attleboro, 3 – FinalNorth Attleboro dropped the first game but rattled off three straight wins to claim the Davenport division title outright with a 22-25, 25-18, 25-23, 25-14 win over Stoughton. Senior Leah Marceau had 26 assists, spreading the ball around to balance the Rocketeers’ attack. Amelia Murphy led the way with 12 kills and five aces, Anna Caristi had 10 kills and five blocks and Kezie De La Cruz added 10 kills and four aces.

Taunton, 0 @ King Philip, 3 – FinalKing Philip celebrated Senior Night by clinching its second straight Kelley-Rex division title with a 25-14, 25-13, 25-20 win over visiting Taunton. KP senior Sydney Phillips had 11 kills, seven aces, and three digs, Michaela Palumbo added seven kills and two aces, Grace Ely had nine kills, and Julianne Rando chipped in with seven digs.

Golf
King Philip, 167 @ Attleboro, 162 – FinalAttleboro won its third match in three days to punch its ticket to the D1 South Sectional, the program’s first postseason appearance since 2010. Kyle DelSignore led the Bombardiers with a low-round of 38 while Ethan Johnson shot a 40. Jack Handy carded a 41 and Taron Mills shot 43 for Attleboro. King Philip’s Matt Stanton earned co-match medalist honors with a 38.

Canton, 151 @ Oliver Ames, 144 – FinalOliver Ames emerged as the winner in a battle of two unbeaten teams, finishing the regular season 15-0. Canton finishes 13-1. It was no secret of how much talent both teams have as the top four golfers from each side all finished under 40. OA’s Ryan McGarry, who birded on the second and fourth holes, earned match medalist honors with a 34. Thomas Walsh carded a 36 for the Tigers while both Nolan Donze and Eric LeBlanc each shot 37. Joey Vaughan led Canton with a 36 while Danny Powers and Thomas Singleton each carded rounds of 38 and Jack Goyetch fired a 39.

Foxboro, 181 @ Franklin, 171 – Final

Taunton, 181 @ Stoughton, 180 – FinalStoughton picked up its first win in four years, edging Taunton by a stroke at Easton Country Club. Brendan Campbell and Luke Bainton led the way for the Black Knights, each carding a round of 43 while Josh Hough shot a 44 for Stoughton.

Canton, 3 @ Oliver Ames, 1 – FinalOliver Ames’ Liz Nuss opened the scoring on an assist from Hannah Stryke, but Canton scored three unanswered goals to earn the win. The Bulldogs tied the game before halftime and then added two in the second half.

Sharon, 0 @ Franklin, 12 – FinalFranklin freshman Natalie Stott scored her first two career goals to help the Panthers pick up a win. Senior Bella Trask notched her first points of the season with two assists and junior Emma Diphillipo recorded her first assist of the year.

North Attleboro, 0 @ King Philip, 4 – FinalKing Philip scored a pair of goals in the first three minutes of the second half, turning a one-goal game into a big lead. Christina Hathaway opened the scoring on a beautiful reverse sweep on a feed from Alli Meehan to give the Warriors a 1-0 lead at halftime. Meehan, Hathaway and Liz Furfari all scored in the second half to help King Philip pick up the win.

Stoughton, 0 @ Taunton, 3 – FinalTaunton senior Kya Enos scored a hat trick, accounting for all of the scoring in the Tigers’ 3-0 win over visiting Stoughton. Enos opened the scoring just over seven minutes into the game and gave Taunton a 2-0 lead with just over 12 minutes left in the first half. Enos completed the hat trick with just under nine minutes to play.

Volleyball
King Philip, 3 @ Walpole, 0 – FinalKing Philip avenged its lone loss of the reason, beating Walpole 26-24, 25-22, 25-22. Walpole beat the Warriors in the opening game of the season but since then, KP has rattled off 13 straight wins. Sydney Phillips paced the offense with 22 kills and eight digs, Michaela Palumbo added eight kills, and Julianne Rando finished with five digs and 10 service points, including two aces. Kat Kmetz added 11 service points and two kills and Olivia Atkins chipped in with eight digs.

Mansfield, 0 @ Brockton, 3 – FinalThe Hornets fall on the road to Brockton, dropping a 23-25, 23-25, 18-25 decision to the Boxers. Meg Hill had nine kills, Julia Harrison had eight digs, and Katie Dardinski and Jolie O’Neil each finished with 10 service points.

Bubba McNeice’s career-low round of 38 earned co-medalist honors with Joey Vaughan. Jack Goyetch, Chris Lavoie, Danny Powers and Thomas Singleton all shot 39 for the Bulldogs. Stoughton’s Brendan Campbell had a team-low round of 40.

Mansfield, 169 @ Oliver Ames, 148 – FinalOliver Ames junior Nolan Donze earned match medalist honors, carding a low-round of 35 to lead the Tigers past visiting Mansfield. With the win, OA clinches its second straight Kelley-Rex title and sixth straight league crown. Mark Bissonette carded a round of 37 while Tate Hadges and Ryan McGarry each fired a 38.

Taunton, 1 @ Canton, 5 – FinalCanton scored three unanswered goals in the second half to break open a one-goal game. The Bulldogs led 2-1 at the break but netted three straight to register a big win over the visiting Tigers.

Oliver Ames, 2 @ Foxboro, 4 – FinalOliver Ames cut a three-goal deficit down to one but Foxboro junior Sophia DiCenso scored her second goal of the game to give the Warriors some breathing room in a win at home. Lily Daly and Jamie Notarangelo also scored for Foxboro. Liz Nuss and Sarah Stevens scored with Emily Han and Kayla Lozzi grabbing assists for OA. Tigers head coach Abby Tepper added that Brynna Courneen played well defensively.

Franklin, 4 @ Stoughton, 0 – FinalFranklin junior Anna Jardine made 12 saves to help the Panthers notch their first shutout of the season, winning 4-0 on the road at Stoughton. Junior Regan Paterson paced the Panthers’ offense with a goal and an assist. Cassi Ronan, Annie Walsh, and Erin Walsh also scored while junior Ashley Reutlinger recorded an assist.

Mansfield, 1 @ North Attleboro, 1 – FinalMansfield and North Attleboro traded goals and had to settle for a 1-1 draw on Tuesday afternoon. Tara Nair scored for the Rocketeers off an assist from Kayley Gorman while Hayleigh Crawford found the back of the cage for the Hornets on a feed from Ann Maher.

Canton, 1 @ Oliver Ames, 3 – FinalOliver Ames rallied back after dropping the first game to win the next three and take the match at home (22-25, 28-26, 25-20, 25-23). Emma Petrillo notched a season-high 23 kills to lead the Tigers offensively. “She played an incredible offensive game and executed at crucial points throughout the match,” said OA head coach Chelsea Cunningham. Sophomore Allie Kemp notched a career-high 50 assists in the win, junior Sadie Homer had 26 digs and senior Kayla Raymond finished with 13 kills and four blocks. Erin Devine had 12 kills and four blocks for Canton while Nicole Brown added 29 assists and seven kills.

Sharon, 1 @ Franklin, 3 – FinalFranklin junior Lauren McGrath paced the Panthers’ offense with 27 assists and seven kills while Maggie Doyle added six kills and five blocks and Lauren Bissanti had 13 digs and a pair of aces.

Milford, 3 @ Mansfield, 1 – FinalMilford picked up the upset on the road, taking wins in the first, third and fourth games to get the win (25-22, 20-25, 25-22, 25-20). For Mansfield, Meg Hill had 17 kills, Julia Harrison had 11 kills and 15 digs, and Jolie O’Neil and Sam Sternberg combined for 31 digs.

Stoughton, 3 @ Taunton, 0 – FinalVal Whalen led the way for the Black Knights with 15 kills, nine digs, and 11 service points. SHS coach Erica Batchelder said senior Haley Stone and junior Mia Bennett both played strong from the back row.

Chris Lavoie (39), Joey Vaughan (40) and Thomas Singleton (41) all placed for the Bulldogs. Franklin’s Bryan Woelfel and Jason Collins each shot 38 for the Panthers.

De Oliveira opened the scoring in the 10th minute on a feed from Anthony Salvador. The Hawks doubled the lead in the 60th minute when de Oliveira converted a chance from Joey Madden. The sophomore capped his scoring with a shot from nearly 30-yards out in the 75th minute. Edwards added that Filipe Da Silva also played a great game up top for the Scarlet Hawks.

Oliver Ames, 3 @ Foxboro, 1 – FinalOliver Ames set the tone early, scoring inside the first minutes, to take two points on the road at Foxboro. Matt Alvarado took a feed from Cam Vella to put the visitors ahead. Foxboro’s Shane VandenBoom tied the game 10 minutes later but OA went back ahead in the 23rd minute when Alvarado set up Mason Galbato. Jack Sheldon netted an olimpico – directly off a corner kick – in the 50th minute to give the Tigers a two-goal cushion.

Franklin, 2 @ Stoughton, 0 – FinalFranklin sophomore Donny Tappin factored into both of the Panthers’ goals, helping take two points on the road at Stoughton. Tappin opened the scoring on a feed from classmate Jacob Cummings and then set up senior Will Conley for the Panthers’ second tally.

King Philip, 2 @ Sharon, 1 – FinalJust two minutes after Sharon equalized the game, King Philip netted the game-winner to take two points on the road. Senior Tyler Mann opened the scoring in the 66th minute, netting a shot from outside the area to put the Warriors up 1-0. Sharon’s Spencer Hall leveled the match in the 73rd minute but Thomas Lugten found the winner for KP off a cross from Zac White in the 75th minute.

Mansfield, 0 @ North Attleboro, 1 – FinalNorth Attleboro senior Gabe Pinhancos scored the lone goal of the game just under five minutes into the second half to give the Rocketeers a berth in the MIAA state tournament. Ryan Pasquel played a low service on a corner, which was dummied by Zach Matracia. Pinhancos then latched onto the ball inside the area to beat the keeper.

Stoughton, 0 @ Franklin, 5 – FinalMiranda Smith got the Franklin offense going with a pair of goals, while Anna Balkus added a goal and an assist for the Panthers. Halle Atkinson and Olivia Dellorco also scored in the win and Molly Duncan, Erin Quaile, and Calen Frongillo had assists. According to Stoughton coach Tara Daniels, Victoria Fallon had a “strong game” and showed off “her versatility and leadership as a center back.”

Sharon, 0 @ King Philip, 4 – FinalChloe Layne scored a brace and recorded an assist and Ally Stanton had a goal and an assist for the Warriors. Layne opened the scoring in the eighth minute off an assist by Hanna Balunos and then assisted on a goal by Avery Snead four minutes later. In the 55th minute, Layne scored her second on an assist by Stanton and then Stanton wrapped up the win with a 20-yard strike to the far post assisted by Abby Baker.

North Attleboro, 1 @ Mansfield, 1 – FinalAshlyn Gaulin opened the scoring for North Attleboro off a first half corner, but Emily Vigeant equalized with a 30-yard free kick in the second half to send both defending league champs home with a point apiece. “It was a great game,” said North head coach Bill Wallace. Wallace added that Rachel LaBonte and Sam Hawkins “played incredible in the back” for the Rocketeers while Haley Guertin had a strong two-way game. Mansfield coach Kevin Smith added that both defenses “played fantastic.”

Nicole Brown (four kills) paced the offense with 21 assists while Megan McDonough, Sofia Connor and Julia Minichiello had strong performances defensively for Canton.

Oliver Ames, 3 @ Foxboro, 0 – FinalThe Tigers picked up a sweep (25-14, 25-18, 25-16) on the road to grab the team’s fifth win of the season – all coming in the last six games. Sophomore Ally Kemp led OA with 25 assists, junior Sadie Homer added 13 digs, and senior Kayla Raymond finished with seven kills and a pair of blocks. OAHS head coach Chelsea Cunningham added that junior Caitlin Cavanaugh played a great game on the outside.

Lauren Lockhart led Franklin with eight kills while Meaghan Maguire (three blocks) added seven kills and Maggie Doyle (five blocks) had six kills. Meg Hill led Mansfield with 13 kills, Julia Harrison added six kills and 10 digs and Jolie O’Neil had 10 digs and 11 service points for the Hornets.

The Rocketeers took the lead in the first half in the 34th minute. Jeff Gale flicked on a free kick service from Gabe Pinhancos and Zach Matracia buried his volley to put Big Red up 1-0. The Bombardiers tied the see-saw game in the 77th minute, heading in a free kick from junior Aidan Lancaster.

Canton, 1 @ Franklin, 2 – FinalFranklin scored two goals in the first half, both on assists from senior Andrew DiLeo, to beat visiting Canton. The Panthers took the lead inside the first five minutes when DiLeo set up junior Nick Barry for the game’s opener. Stoughton, 0 @ King Philip, 10 – FinalKing Philip built a 6-0 lead at halftime and never looked back in a big win over visiting Stoughton. Senior Tyler Mann and junior Anthony Bozza each scored a pair of goals, Zac White notched two helpers and senior Thomas Lugten had two assists and one goal. Senior Eric Woolson added a goal and an assist in the win.

Sharon, 2 @ Mansfield, 2 – FinalMansfield raced out to a two-goal lead but the visiting Eagles battled back to earn a point on the road. Sean Lanzillo put the Hornets up 1-0 on a feed from Sam Hyland and senior Cullin Anastasia doubled the lead on an assist from Luke Savoie as Mansfield took a 2-0 advantage into halftime. Sharon cut the deficit in half when sophomore Brian Higgins netted one on a clearance off a corner kick in the 55th minute. The Eagles scored the equalizer 10 minutes later when sophomore Michael Baur scored on a free kick from just over 20 yards out.

Milford, 1 @ Oliver Ames, 5 – FinalOliver Ames senior Cam Vella opened the scoring in the 18th minute, dispossessing a Milford player at midfield and making a darting run on goal before finishing from outside the box. The Tigers doubled its lead moments before halftime when James Gillespie won possession on the sideline and connected with Brandin Osborne, who found Nathaniel Cardoza on a run into the area for the finish. Gillespie nodded home OA’s third goal on a throw from Chris Lawrence in the 45th minute, Niko Byron made it 4-0 with his first career goal, converting a rebound off Lawrence’s shot and senior Jack Galas converted a penalty kick for his first career goal in the 75th minute. Milford senior Jacob Balzarini scored his first career goal, burying a half-volley on a corner kick.

Girls Soccer
North Attleboro, 2 @ Attleboro, 1 – Final North Attleboro broke a tie game with just under three minutes to play to grab two points on the road. Ashlyn Gaulin continued her strong season, scoring the game-winner in the 78th minute on an assist from Leah Jetter. North Attleboro took the lead when Haley Guertin opened the scoring on a feed from Kayla Pasquel. Attleboro equalized with just under two minutes to play in the first half. North Attleboro head coach Bill Wallace added that Aine Mendonca, Felicity Monfils, Haley Ferrin and Emma Gauin all played great two-way soccer.

Taunton, 0 @ Foxboro, 6 – FinalLizzy Davis scored a pair of goals and Lily Sykes added a goal and an assist for the Warriors. Katie Huether, Shaina Abbott and Mia Oglia also scored for Foxboro and Warriors coach Katie Stalcup said that Alex Stamatos and Sykes both had great games.

King Philip, 5 @ Stoughton, 0 – Final Avery Snead scored two goals and set up a pair of goals for classmate Chloe Layne as the Warriors earned their 11th win of the season. Emma Corcoran and Ally Stanton assisted on the Snead goals and Jenna Midura scored an unassisted goal with two minutes remaining for KP. Melina Connolly made three saves to earn the clean sheet.

Mansfield, 1 @ Sharon, 0 – FinalStephanie Kemp scored the lone goal of the game in the first half off an assist by Erin Daniel. Sharon had its chances to equalize and was “unlucky,” according to head coach Brad Furnival, including a Sabrina Robbins free kick that struck the underside of the bar.

Oliver Ames, 1 @ Milford, 0 – FinalSofia Masciarelli scored the lone goal of the game seven minutes in to the second half off an Erin Holmberg assist. Olivia Marshall played well in net, according to Milford coach Jay Mastaj, making four saves for the Hawks.

Stoughton, 6 @ Brockton, 0 – FinalMeghan Foley scored two goals to pace the Black Knights to a season sweep of Brockton. Julia Russell, Jackie Evangelista, Haley Apotheker and Kamryn Oliveira each scored once for Stoughton. Kayleigh Marinelli had her first career shutout in goal.

Canton, 0 @ Franklin, 3 – FinalFranklin picked up its eighth win of the season with a 25-15, 26-24, 25-12 sweep of visiting Canton. Lauren McGrath set the offense in motion with 31 assists, setting up Lauren Lockhart and Ellie Wisniewski (eight kills apiece). FHS head coach Kate Horsmann said Lauren Bissanti and Riley Marino both had strong serve receive and defensive games for the Panthers. Canton head coach Pat Cawley said freshman Angie Elias played well at the net while Sophia Connor had a strong game defensively.

Foxboro, 0 @ Taunton, 3 – FinalTaunton defended home court with a 25-13, 25-22, 25-18 sweep of Foxboro. Sam Reaume led the offense with 10 kills, five digs, two aces and a block while Kayli Fagan finished with 23 assists, five kills, three aces and three blocks. Sam Silviera chipped in with six kills for the Tigers.

Sharon, 1 @ Mansfield, 3 – FinalMansfield rallied after dropping the first game to win the next three, grabbing a 19-25, 25-17, 25-19, 25-12 win over visiting Sharon. Julia Harrison had eight kills and eight digs, Lexi Gardner added 18 service points and six kills and Jolie O’Neil had 16 digs and 12 service points.

Milford, 2 @ Oliver Ames, 3 – FinalOliver Ames edged out Milford in an incredibly close match, taking the first, third and fifth games to beat the visiting Hawks (25-18, 22-25, 25-19, 23-25, 15-13). OA sophomore Ally Kemp paced the Tigers’ offense with 25 assists while senior Kayla Raymond finished with 14 kills and two blocks. Senior Emma Petrillo added eight kills and four aces, junior Sadie Homer added 15 digs and two aces and junior Grace McCallum was tabbed player of the game by head coach Chelsea Cunningham. “Her commitment to the back row was solid throughout the whole match and she held the team’s composure in the height of the match,” Cunningham said of McCallum.

Stoughton, 0 @ King Philip, 3 – FinalKing Philip picked up a big win in a crossover match with Stoughton behind a balanced attack. The Warriors, who won 25-16, 25-15, 25-19, got nine kills from Sydney Phillips (four digs, two aces, seven service points), seven kills from Grace Ely and five kills from Michaela Palumbo (nine service points). Elise Pereira added eight service points, four digs and three aces in the win.

Oliver Ames, 161 @ Franklin, 170 – FinalOliver Ames senior Ryan McGarry earned match medalist honors, carding a low-round of 38 to lead the Tigers to a win at Franklin Country Club. Nolan Donza, Matt Kelley, Mark Bissonette, Thomas Walsh and Eric LeBlanc all shot 41 for OA.

Canton, 173 @ Foxboro, 181 – FinalCanton punched its ticket to the MIAA state tournament for the eighth straight year, improving to 7-0 with a win over Foxboro. Jack Goyetch earned match medalist honors with a round of 41 while Thomas Singleton helped the Bulldogs with a round of 42. Joey Vaughan, Chris Lavoie and Niko Donovan each shot 45 for Canton. Logan Sloan, Matt Lathrop and Steve Foster each carded rounds of 45 for the Warriors.

Mansfield, 166 @ Attleboro, 164 – FinalAttleboro’s Ethan Johnson earned match medalist honors, shooting a low-round of 38 to lead the Bombardiers to a close win over Mansfield. Kyle DelSignore and Corey McKenna each added rounds of 41 while Taron Mills shot a 44. Freshman Brian Lee led Mansfield with a 40 while classmate Ryan Dow added a 41 for the Hornets.

Milford, 181 vs. Nipmuc, 156 – FinalAndrew Fauerbach had a strong day for the Hawks, shooting a team-low round of 39 for Milford.

North Attleboro, 155 @ Stoughton, 181 – FinalNorth Attleboro picked up a win at Easton Country Club with Marcus Costa’s medalist round of 36 leading the way for the Rocketeers. Dylan Kane (39), Colby Cameron (40) and Jillian Barend (40) also factored in for Big Red. Stoughton’s Brendan Campbell had a team-low round of 38 while Nick Szum added a 44.

Taunton, 194 @ Sharon, 175 – Final – Sam Fergenbaum led the way for Sharon, carding a team-low round of 41 while Max Brody added a 42 for the Eagles.

Jackson Murphy opened the scoring for the visitors, converting a chance from Sean Lanzillo to take a 1-0 lead into the break. Murphy then set up Anastasia for Mansfield’s second goal and John Cooney recorded to assist on the final tally. Nick Ferraz recorded his third shutout in net.

Canton, 0 @ Milford, 2 – Final Milford junior Anthony Salvador scored what turned out to be the game-winning goal in the first half, and then drew a penalty late in the second half to help the Hawks record a shutout win over visiting Canton. Wallison De Oliveira converted the penalty kick to seal the win. MHS head coach Brian Edwards praised the defensive efforts of senior Jacob Balzarini.

King Philip, 1 @ Oliver Ames, 4 – FinalOliver Ames scored a pair of goals in each half in a key division win over visiting King Philip. Senior Michael Nikiciuk opened the scoring while classmate Brandin Osborne made it 2-0 by half. Mason Galbato converted a flick from Nathaniel Cardoza off a long throw in by Chris Lawrence to make it 3-0 and minutes later, senior Matt Alvarado made it 4-0. In the final minute of play, KP junior John Cullen played a through ball to freshman Camron Lawrence who played across to freshman Ajae Olsen for the finish.

North Attleboro, 2 @ Sharon, 1 – FinalNorth Attleboro took the lead inside the first 10 minutes and netted the game-winner midway through the second half to pick up a key division win on the road. Sophomore Dylan Corrigan opened the scoring in the sixth minute, converting a long goal kick from Zach Matracia. Gabe Pinhancos doubled the lead in the 63rd minute on a feed from Ryan Pasquel. Sharon sophomore Michael Baur converted a penalty kick in the 76th minute. NA goalie Brendan Matracia made three key saves down the stretch for the Rocketeers.

Girls Soccer
Attleboro, 1 @ Mansfield, 4 – FinalStephanie Kemp scored a brace and Cassidy McMahon had a goal and an assist for the Hornets, who stayed perfect on the season. Attleboro battled throughout and cut the Mansfield lead to 2-1 midway through the second half on a goal by Julia Reyes, assisted by Alison Wall. As the Bombardiers pushed forward for an equalizer, Mansfield scored two more to seal the two points. Madison Brown made 12 saves in the loss and, according to coach Steve Santos, Jordyn Forte and Julia Hayes played well on defense.

Canton, 3 @ Milford, 3 – FinalMilford got a pair of goals from Juliana France and one from Maggie Boyle to earn a draw against the Bulldogs. According to Milford coach Jay Mastaj, Ashleigh Starks also played well for the Hawks.

Foxboro, 4 @ Stoughton, 1 – FinalStoughton took the lead on the Warriors with a goal by Nicole Weir, assisted by Gabbi Diaz. Foxboro responded with four straight goals to get the win, including a pair of goals from Lily Sykes. Katelyn Mollica scored the eventual game-winner before halftime and Jordyn Collins scored early in the second half, before Sykes wrapped up the win with a shot from distance. According to Stoughton coach Tara Daniels, outside backs Cintia Khouzami and Sarina Hutchinson had “outstanding” games.

Oliver Ames, 2 @ King Philip, 1 – FinalChloe Layne scored a penalty kick to give the Warriors the lead in the fifth minute, but OA bounced back with two goals before halftime to hand KP its first loss of the season. Abby Hodges scored off an Sophia Cox corner kick to tie the game and Erin Holmberg bent a corner directly in for what turned out to be the game-winner. Regan Benton made 14 saves for the Tigers and drew praise from KP coach Gary Pichel, who said that Benton was “clearly one of the best goalkeepers in the state.” OA coach Britt Sellmayer said that Maeve Hogan played a strong game in the OA defense.

Sharon, 0 @ North Attleboro, 5 – FinalIt took North only 58 seconds to jump into the lead with a goal from Kayla Pasquel, assisted by Ashlyn Gaulin. Aine Mendonca made it two off another Gaulin assist and Leah Jette made it 3-0 off a Pasquel assist. Gaulin added a pair of second half goals, one off a Haley Guertin shot and the second on an assist by Mackenzie Rosenberg. Emma Noreck had the clean sheet for North and head coach Bill Wallace praised Aly Blaisdell, Felicity Monfils, Britta MacDonald, Haley Ferrin and Emma Gaulin for strong play on both ends of the field.

Mansfield, 6 @ Attleboro, 1 – FinalSenior Ann Maher scored a hat trick to pace Mansfield to a win on the road. Heather D’Ambra, Brooke Downey and Haley Crawford each tallied once for the Hornets in the win.

King Philip, 5 @ Oliver Ames, 0 – FinalKing Philip’s Christina Hathaway scored and had an assist in the first half, helping the Warriors build a 2-0 lead at the break. Hathaway scored on a feed from Nicole Conor and then set up a goal by Liz Furfari. Furfari made it 3-0 of a pass from Alli Meehan and then Meehan netted the final two goals, one set up by Olivia Kulesza. Abby Campbell turned away three shots in net.

Mansfield, 3 @ Attleboro, 1 – FinalAfter splitting the first two sets, Mansfield rattled off two wins to earn the victory on the road (25-23, 19-25, 25-16, 25-16). Julia Harrison had eight kills while Mikayla Kearney had seven digs and eight service points. Emma Ascoli added 14 service points and 24 assists for the Hornets while Jolie O’Neil chipped in with 10 service points.

Milford, 1 @ Canton, 3 – FinalMilford earned a win in the first set but Canton rallied back to win the next three and take the victory (21-25, 25-12, 26-24, 29-27). Nicole Brown ran the Canton’s offense with 37 assists, Taylor Harris had 13 kills and four aces and Rose Hazam and Erin Devine combined for 14 kills. CHS head coach Pat Cawley said Theresa O’Brien provided a spark off the bench with 14 service points.

Stoughton, 3 @ Foxboro, 0 – FinalThe Black Knights stretched their unbeaten streak to six wins to start the season with a 25-14, 25-12, 25-14 sweep of Foxboro. SHS junior Hanna Holden had a strong game with 14 assists and 9 digs while senior Haley Stone and junior Mia Bennett were solid in the back row combining for over 30 digs. 

Taunton, 0 @ Franklin, 3 – FinalFranklin’s Ellie Wisniewski had a strong well-rounded game, leading the Panthers to a sweep at home. Wisniewski had seven kills, five aces and two digs while Meaghan Maguire added eight kills and Lauren McGrath finished with 24 assists, three digs, three aces and two kills.

Sharon, 0 @ North Attleboro, 3 – FinalNorth Attleboro survived a late push from visiting Sharon to complete a sweep (25-11, 25-12, 26-24) and move to 5-0. Canton, 2 @ Mansfield, 4 – FinalMansfield netted a pair of goals in each half in a win over visiting Canton. Senior Sam Hyland finished with a goal and three assists to pace the Hornets. Hyland opened the scoring 10 minutes into the match, taking a through ball from Luke Savoie. Five minutes later, Nick Wisnieski netted his first goal, finishing a throw from Hyland. Early in the second half, Wisnieski made it 3-0 off a cross from Hyland but Canton quickly made it a one-goal game. Junior Griffin Roach scored a pair of goals in a 10-minute span to make it 3-2 but Jared Gabrilowitz nodded home a throw from Hyland in the 79th minute to ice the game.

Foxboro, 0 @ King Philip, 1 – FinalKing Philip found the game winner in the final five minutes for the second straight game. Tony Bozza played a 1-2 combination with senior Thomas Lugten to get in behind the defense and the junior calmly finished in the 78th minute to give the Warriors two points.

Milford, 1 @ Franklin, 2 – FinalFranklin netted a pair of second half goals to erase a one goal deficit to earn its first win of the 2017 season. Milford’s Andre Oliveira put the visitors ahead in the first half but Franklin drew level midway through the second half. Sophomore Jacob Cummings made it 1-1 before the Panthers found the winner in the final two minutes. Sophomore Sam Stowell buried a penalty kick for the game-winner. Milford head coach Brian Edwards said Lucas Caetano had a strong game for the Hawks at left back.

North Attleboro, 2 @ Taunton, 2 – FinalTaunton netted the go-ahead goal with less than five minutes to play but North Attleboro found an equalizer with just two minutes to play to earn a draw. The Tigers took the lead in the fourth minute when Francois Hennaux capitalized on a ball over the top and scored on a breakaway. North tied the game in the 60th minute when Gabe Pinhancos volleyed home a cross from Connor MacIver. The Tigers regained the lead when Liam Crowley buried a penalty kick but Pinhancos netted his second, again on a volley, on a cross from junior Joe Hilf.

Sharon, 0 @ Oliver Ames, 2 – FinalOliver Ames scored twice late in the second half to earn two points against Sharon. After hitting the post twice, the Tigers converted when senior Matt Alvarado’s cross found classmate Brandin Osborne, who buried his chance in front. Just before the halftime whistle, Alvarado found Nathaniel Cardoza, who rocketed his shot off the crossbar and in from distance for OA’s second goal.

Mansfield, 5 @ Canton, 3 – FinalCassidy McMahon scored a brace for the Hornets, including the eventual game-winner in the second half, to help the Hornets hold off Canton in what Mansfield coach Kevin Smith called “a great game.” Bryn Anderson opened the scoring for the Hornets and Emily Vigeant added a second off a free kick. Canton got one back before McMahon scored her first for a 3-1 halftime lead. The Bulldogs again cut the lead to one but McMahon’s second made it 4-2. With five minutes left, Canton made it a one-goal game, but Emma Oldow sealed the points with Mansfield’s fifth.

King Philip, 4 @ Foxboro, 2 – Final KP scored three goals in the opening 12 minutes of the second half to overcome a one-goal deficit and make it four wins in four games. Ally Stanton scored the opener for KP off an assist by Avery Snead. Foxboro took the lead before halftime as Jordyn Collins scored off a Lily Sykes assist and the returned the favor by assisting on a Sykes goal. Chloe Layne tied it four minutes into the second half off an Emma Corcoran pass and then assisted on a goal by Snead three minutes later to take the lead for good. Five minutes later, Makayla Griffin scored off an Abby Baker assist to wrap up the scoring.

Franklin, 1 @ Milford, 0 – FinalAccording to Milford coach Jay Mastaj, Brianna Braza, Rachel LeBlanc and Maddie Boyle played well on defense and Julianna France and Leeanne Kibbee had good games in what he called, “a strong team effort.”

Taunton, 0 @ North Attleboro, 4 – FinalNorth Attleboro’s offense clicked on Monday, creating 21 shots and 11 corners. Haley Guertin opened the scoring in the first half off an Emily Chiasson assist, then created a second goal for Leah Jette. Jette then set up Ashley Gaulin to make it 3-0 and Britta MacDonald closed out the scoring off an assist by Meghan Slaney. Rachel Labonte played well defensively to secure the clean sheet.

Oliver Ames, 4 @ Sharon, 2 – FinalJackie Mills scored a brace for the Tigers, while Briana Gibson and Abby Hodges each added a goal apiece. Ally Filipkowski scored on a header off a Bridget McManus pass and Sabrina Robbins scored her first varsity goal off an assist by Bella Berger. All six goals were scored in the final 25 minutes of the game.

Field Hockey
Attleboro, 7 @ Sharon, 0 – FinalAttleboro’s Grace Mayer and Alex Compton each recorded a hat trick in the Bombardiers win on the road. Abigail Boudreau added the other goal for Attleboro while Katie Pelletier turned away eight shots for the shutout.

King Philip, 2 @ Canton, 0 – FinalKing Philip finally broke through in the second half, netting a pair of goals to beat Canton on the road. The Warriors had a large advantage in shots in the game. Alli Meehan opened the scoring with 12 minutes left in the game and then Christina Hathaway added an insurance goal, finishing a corner on an assist from Dana Truini with less than three minutes to play. Canton senior goalie Riley Brown made 25 saves, including denying a penalty stroke.

CHS head coach Pat Cawley said sophomore Taylor Harris had a good all around game with great serving including four aces, three blocks, and four kills. Hannah Jerrier added four kills and five blocks for the Bulldogs.

Foxboro, 0 @ King Philip, 3 – FinalKing Philip earned a 25-10, 25-17, 25-6 sweep over the visiting Warriors of Foxboro. Rachel Veilleux led the way with 21 assists and 15 service points, Sydney Phillips added 11 kills and three digs, Michael Palumbo finished with five kills and five aces and Elise Pereira chipped in with four digs and three aces.

North Attleboro, 3 @ Taunton, 1 – FinalNorth Attleboro picked up a win on the road with a 25-17, 22-25, 25-10, 25-13 decision over Taunton. Kezia De La Cruz recorded a team-high 18 kills and added six aces for the Rocketeers while Amelia Murphy added seven kills and four aces.

Sharon, 3 @ Oliver Ames, 2 – FinalSharon pulled out its second straight five set win, this time on the road at Oliver Ames (14-25, 25-22, 25-21, 22-25, 15-6). Oliver Ames’ Sadie Homer had 19 digs and two aces, sophomore Ally Kemp had 33 assists and three aces, senior Katie Flynn had 10 kills, senior Jackie Kandar added eight kills and three assisted blocks and sophomore Jordyn Vella chipped in with seven blocks and four kills.

Canton, 155 @ Milford, 166 – FinalCanton’s Jack Goyetch earned match medalist honors, carding a low-round of 37 as the Bulldogs opened the season with a win. Joey Vaughan shot a 38 for Canton. Milford’s Riley Lynch had a team-low round of 39.

Stoughton, 4 @ Norwood, 3 – FinalFor the second time in as many days, Stoughton had a player record a hat trick. Loubensky Lucas netted his first hat trick of the season, a day after he scored a pair of goals and classmate Jordan Asnes recorded a hat trick against Milford. Sophomore Fabio Ponce De Leon opened his account on the season, putting Stoughton ahead 1-0 in the 10th minute of a feed from Asnes. Ponce De Leon set Lucas up a minute later for a 2-0 lead. Stoughton added two goals early in the second half as Lucas took a pass from Tyler Melo and finished from inside the area and then scored on a penalty kick a minute later.

Girls Soccer
Stoughton, 2 vs. Norwood, 2 – Final – Freshman Abby Kashian and junior Emerson Sprague each scored for the Black Knights while head coach Tara Daniels said Gabby Diaz, Sarah Widrow, and Isabel Solem helped Stoughton keep possession throughout the game.

Volleyball
Attleboro, 0 @ Mansfield, 3 – FinalThe Mansfield Hornets picked up a comfortable win at home, emerging with a 25-8, 25-12, 25-14 win. Meg Hill led Mansfield with 12 kills while Julia Harrison added nine kills. Chloe Peters had 19 service points, and Anna Kemp and Jolie O’Neil each had seven service points for the Hornets.

Canton, 3 @ Milford, 0 – Final – It might have been on a sweep, but it was a tight battle between Davenport foes Canton and Milford. Canton came away with a 25-16, 25-16, 25-22 win. “Both sides fought hard and played great defense,” Canton head coach Pat Cawley said. Canton outside hitter Hannah Jerrier led the Bulldogs with seven kills and Erika Lum had six kills and 13 digs. Middles Emma Murphy and Casey Shea each had four kills and combined for 10 blocks. “We played our best team defense of the year,” Cawley said, led by libero Julia Panico with 24 digs and aided by Emily Lynch and Maria Mackie, who combined for 17 digs.

Foxboro, 2 @ Stoughton, 3 – Final – Stoughton and Foxboro battled back and forth but the Black Knights shut the door with an emphatic 15-2 win in the fifth and final set. Stoughton junior Val Whalen led the Black Knights offense with 20 kills while senior Christina Gelin dominated the back row with 41 digs. Senior Riley Bagley added 20 digs for Stoughton.

Sharon, 1 @ North Attleboro, 3 – Final – For Sharon, junior Jess Allan led the offense with eight kills and two aces, senior Natalie Kane had 12 blocks and three kills and setters Faythe Gomolka and Arianna Chabot combined for 15 assists. Chabot also went 16 for 16 at the service line.

Oliver Ames, 3 @ Attleboro, 0 – Final – Cristina Boudreau and Kayla Lozzi each scored a goal and added an assist as Oliver Ames blanked Attleboro on the road. Kayla Lozzi and Liz Nuss each scored once while Rachel Stryke registered an assist.

Sharon, 0 @ Canton, 6 – FinalJulia Ezepik registered a hat trick to pace Canton’s offense in the win.

Foxboro, 5 @ Milford, 0 – FinalLily Daly scored a pair of goals and had a pair of assists to lead the Warriors. Foxboro jumped out to a 3-0 lead by halftime behind both of Daly’s goals – one off an assist from Emma Daly, the other unassisted. Sophia DiCenso also scored in the first half on an assist from Lily Daly. Jenna Stamatov and Carlie Stern scored one for Foxboro and Caroline Wheatley added an assist.

Franklin, 0 @ Mansfield, 0 – Final – Franklin head coach Lisa Cropper had high praise for sophomore goalie Christina Lucini, who made 12 saves to earn the shutout. “She was outstanding,” Cropper said. Cropper also lauded the effort of senior Maddie Derby, who she called “a stalwart on defense,” which included a defensive save behind Lucini.

Stoughton, 0 @ North Attleboro, 0 – Final – Stoughton’s Gianna Barbosa and North Attleboro’s Liz Morehouse earned the shutouts in goal.

Canton, 159 @ Stoughton, 181 – Final – Canton picked up another key division match win over Stoughton, led by match medalist Matt Minichiello’s 37. Jack Goyetch added a 40 while Jackson Maffeo, Joey Vaughan and Bubba McNeice each shot 41. Stoughton’s Josh Roos and Brendan Campbell each carded a round of 44 for the Black Knights.

Milford, 153 vs. Hopedale, 160 – Final – Ryan Tomaso shot a 34, Anthony Arcudi added a 38 and Tylor Renaud carded a 39 to lead the Scarlet Hawks.

Franklin, 2 @ Milford, 0 – Final – Farley Asmath scored both goals for the Panthers, with both coming in the second half. Asmath’s first strike in the 56th minute came off an assist from Hatim Brahimi. Asmath then earned a penalty in the final minutes and converted in the 78th minute for his second goal. Fred Beckmann earned the shutout in net.

Mansfield, 3 @ Sharon, 2 – Final – Mansfield scored a goal two minutes into the game and one in the final minute of the game to clip the Eagles. James Chotkowski scored early off a service from Max Gurnon but Sharon tied it before half. Mansfield opened the second half when James Cooney headed in a cross from Chotkowski three minutes into the second half but Sharon tied the game with just over three minutes to go. But Mansfield had an answer as Gurnon scored the game winner a minute later on cross from Jackson Murphy. Mansfield goalie Jed Tolbert made 10 saves in net for the Hornets.

Stoughton, 1 vs. Norwood, 0 – Final The Black Knights used a late second half goal to edge Norwood and earn their first win of the season. Matheus Santos took a feed from Jordan Asnes and beat Norwood’s goalie from the top of the area for his first career goal. Head coach Aaron Salter said goalie Matt Gallagher played excellent and deserved the clean sheet.

Girls Soccer
Sharon, 1 @ Mansfield, 5 – FinalMansfield had five different goal scorers on Wednesday. Allee Bezeau, Stephanie Kemp, Emma Goulet, Cassidy McMahon, and Hannah Reiter all scored for the Hornets. Emily Vigeant and Emma Oldow each had two assists for Mansfield.

Sharon, 3 @ Attleboro, 0 – FinalSharon won 25-18, 25-22, 25-14. Cori Jermyn and Jess Allan led the Eagles with five kills apiece and Natalie Kane had four blocks.

Canton, 1 @ King Philip, 3 – Final – Canton took the first game but King Philip came back to claim the next three and the win (18-25, 25-12, 25-18, 25-21). Sydney Phillips led KP with 12 kills and nine service points while Emma Lopez also paced the offense with 11 kills. Carly Adams had a strong serving day with 16 service points, including three aces while Liv Balduf added 10 service points. Amanda Loewen had 12 digs to lead KP defensively. Canton’s Hannah Jerrier, Nicole Poole (22 asissts) and Erika Lum each had six kills for the Bulldogs.

Foxboro, 0 @ Franklin, 3 – FinalErin Skidmore led the Panthers with 11 kills and added three aces. Lauren McGrath had nine aces and 15 assists for Franklin, while Meaghan Maguire chipped in with seven kills and a block.

Sharon, 0 @ Attleboro, 10 – FinalGrace Mayer found the back of the net four times in Attleboro’s big win.

Canton, 1 @ King Philip, 2 – Final – Canton took the lead in the first half with Andrea McNeil converting off a corner but KP rallied for a pair of second half goals to get the win. Liz Furfari tied the game at the 23 minute mark off an assist from Nicole Connor. The Warriors found the winner with just three minutes left when Alli Meehan scored off a penalty corner from Christina Hathaway.

Foxboro, 0 @ Franklin, 3 – FinalCaroline Lounsbury scored the opening goal with 17:55 left in the first half off an assist by Cassi Ronan and it turned out to be the game-winner for Franklin. Brayden Downing scored two minutes later on an assist from Annie Walsh and then Walsh made it 3-0 early in the second half off an assist by Maeve Ledwith. Christina Lucini earned the shutout in goal with three saves.

North Attleboro, 0 @ Oliver Ames, 0 – Final – Oliver Ames’ offense kept knocking on the door but North Attleboro goalie Liz Morehouse wouldn’t break, notching 14 saves in an impressive performance. “OA had a variety of pressure on the net…flicks, drives aerials and she stopped them all,” North head coach Karen Folan said. Katherine Munley also had a big defensive stop late in the game for North Attleboro. Katie Davenport and Katie Vamosi anchored Oliver Ames’ defensive effort while Dimitra Efremidis and Kendall Clifford played well in the midfield for OA according to coach Abby Tepper, who also noted the strong game by Morehouse.

Attleboro, 184 @ Franklin, 159 – FinalThe Panthers got an even par 35 from captain Bryan Woelfel and a 40 from Eric Civetti. Attleboro was led by Corey McKenna, who shot a 42.

Taunton, 174 @ Oliver Ames, 149 – FinalBrady Allbritton led the Tigers with a round of 35, while Ryan McGarry shot a 36, Thomas Walsh shot a 37, and Tate Hadges shot a 41 for OA. Taunton got a 38 from Mike Volkman and a 42 from Jake Crawford.
