Taunton, 13 @ King Philip, 2 – Final (5 inn.)A day after a 1-0 win in 11 innings, Taunton’s offense exploded for 13 runs in a big win on the road over King Philip. Sophomore Braden Sullivan had three hits in the win while classmates Ryan MacDougall and Shawn Cali each had two to help the Tigers win. Ty Cali, Dawson Bryce, and Colby Decouta all had two hits as well. Senior Danny MacDougall tossed a five-inning complete game, allowing two earned runes on three hits and one walk, striking out six for the win.

Sharon, 6 @ North Attleboro, 11 – FinalNorth Attleboro set the tone early with a five-run second inning and went on to score in four other innings to knock off Sharon, clinching at least a share of the Davenport division title. Sophomore Aidan Conrad (four hits, three RBI) smashed a solo home run in the third but Sharon rallied to make it a two-run game at 6-4 through three innings. The Rocketeers used a double and a pair of singles in the fourth for a run and then tacked on three more runs on three walks and two hits in the sixth inning. North added one more run in the seventh, off a pair of walks and a pair of hits. Danny Curran struck out four in four innings of work for the win while both Joe Hartnett and Anthony Wescott pitched well in relief.

Softball
Taunton, 18 @ Milford, 0 – FinalTaunton belted out 21 hits on offense while Sam Lincoln and Olyvia Mendonca combined for a one-hit shutout in the Tigers’ big win. Senior Hanna Aldrich went 4-for-4 and hit her 12th home run of the season, finishing with two RBI and three runs, Lianna Oliveira added three hits and three RBI, and Tayah DaCosta and McKenzie McAloon each hit a home run in the win. Lincoln struck out eight in three scoreless innings while Mendonca had one hit allowed and one strikeout in two innings.

North Attleboro, 10 @ Sharon, 11 – FinalSharon came out with a one-goal win in a hard fought battle from both teams in the heat. Drew Litner notched six assists to go along with a pair of goals to set the Eagles up for the win. Brady Daylor netted a hat trick and had one assist, Ben Shocket (14-for-19 faceoffs) added a pair of goals and one assist, Dylan Cummings scored twice, and Ryan Zunenshine found the back of the net once. Adam Rabb played well in net with 16 saves.

Girls Lacrosse
Franklin, 23 @ Attleboro, 3 – FinalFranklin stayed undefeated on the season with a strong defensive effort, allowing just three goals agaisnt in a win on the road over Attleboro. Anna Grasso, Sydney Hawkins, Ali Socci and Emma Sousa all played well defensively in the Panthers’ win. Maura Cogavin netted a hat trick in the win, Kate O’Rourke and Katie Peterson each scored twice and had three assists, and Kaitlin Carney scored four times.

Foxboro, 16 @ Canton, 2 – FinalFoxboro’s Lilly Vey scored a team-high five goals, including the 100th of her career, to help the Warriors earn a big win on the road. Mya Waryas added four goals and an assist, Ella Waryas and Mary Collins each had a pair of goals and one helper, Dylan Rappoli and Paige Curran both recorded two assists and a goal, Kate Collins found the back of the net once, and Val Beigel had two assists in the win.

Sharon, 14 @ North Attleboro, 20 – FinalThe Eagles rallied in the fourth quarter but North Attleboro was able to hold them off and grab the win. Jenna Goldstein had a big game for Sharon, scoring seven goals and assisting on another, while also grabbing three draws. Cass Barbera and Molly McAlevey each scored twice with Barbera adding a pair of helpers. Athena Merck, Vivian Pedicone, and Katelyn Galeota each scored once and Tess Letendre made nine saves in the loss. Amelia Scappaticci had six draw controls and McAlevey had four for Sharon.

King Philip, 18 @ Taunton, 2 – FinalKing Philip picked up its sixth straight win, rolling to a big win on the road over Taunton. Julia Marsden led the charge offensively with five goals and one assist while Peyton Mellman, Haley Izydorczak (two assists), and Lily Brown (three assists) each scored a hat trick in the win. Margo Riley had a great game defensively for the Warriors.




Boys Tennis
Taunton, 0 @ King Philip, 5 – FinalBrady Jannell moved up to first singles and overcame a one-set deficit, rallying to win in a tiebreaker to help King Philip take a 5-0 win over visiting Taunton. Jannell dropped the first set in a tiebreaker but won the second set and prevailed in a third-set tiebreaker 6-7 (5), 6-3, 10-7. Jon Cohen (second singles), Jackson Hom (third singles), and the team of Adam Gousie and Noah Ihley (second doubles) all won by 6-0, 6-0 scores while the pairing of Connor Sachleben and Diego Nieto secured a 6-2, 6-0 decision at first doubles.

Sharon, 4 @ North Attleboro, 1 – Final – Sharon took a pair of wins from both singles and doubles to secure a 4-1 win over North Attleboro, clinching the Davenport division title outright. Freshman Mehul Bhattacharyya dropped just one game in a 6-1, 6-0 victory at first singles while junior Max Chen added a 6-0, 6-0 win at third singles for the Eagles. Sophomore Rithvik Neti and freshman Matthew Lally grabbed a 6-1, 6-0 decision at first doubles and the team of junior Mitch Weiss and freshman Alex Budovalcev prevailed 6-1, 6-2 at second doubles. North Attleboro senior Sam Gallagher was victorious with a 6-2, 6-2 result at second singles.

The Panthers scored 10 times in the first quarter, jumping out to a 10-1 lead, and never looked back, remaining unbeaten and moving a step closer to another league title. Kaitlyn Carney led the way for the league leaders, scoring four goals. Katie Jones (two assists) and Stella Regan (three assists) both recorded hat tricks and Kenzie Baker tallied twice. Katie Peterson, Kate O’Rourke, Ali Socci, Katherine Ryan, Lindsay Atkinson, Anna Grasso, Payten Crandall, and Maura Cogavin each scored once for the Panthers. Alana Tavares scored twice and Anastasia Lajoie scored once for Taunton and Emily Gannon was busy in goal, making double-digit saves.

Sharon, 6 @ Oliver Ames, 15 – FinalOA got back to .500 in league play with a dominant win over visiting Sharon. Emma Pereira scored four goals to spark the OA offense. Reese Pereira and Georgia Costello helped the Tigers control the draw and win extra possessions for the Tigers. Emma O’Donnell was strong in the cage for OA, allowing only one goal in the second half.

Milford, 6 @ King Philip, 17 – FinalKP had four players record five points and extended its win streak to three games. Julia Marsden and Haley Izydorczak each scored five goals for the Warriors, while Morgan Cunningham had three goals and two assists and Lilly Brown had two goals and three assists.

Baseball
Milford, 6 @ Canton, 8 – FinalCanton pushed across four runs in the bottom of the sixth for insurance and then held off a last inning rally from Milford to get the win. Holding a 4-3 lead going into the bottom of the sixth, Canton scored four runs to double their offensive output. Milford rallied for three runs in the top of the seventh to get within two but Nico Bonanno came in and got a strikeout for the final out to preserve the win. Sawyer Julier-Albert drove in three runs, Matt Quan had two RBI, and Steve Burbank and Jay Kelleher each had one RBI in the win.

Softball
Sharon, 1 @ King Philip, 14 – FinalJordan Bennett and Emma Sheehan combined for a one-hitter with seven strikeouts to lead the Warriors to a win at home. Junior Meg Sherwood went 2-for-2 including a home run, driving in four total runs while freshman Maddie Paschke was 3-for-3 wit a three-run home run. Sophomore Charlotte Raymond added a pair of hits, including a triple, for the Warriors. Trinity Payne hit a solo home run for the Eagles.

Canton, 8 @ Sharon, 5 – Final

King Philip, 6 @ Franklin, 14 – FinalFranklin dominated the first half to the tune of 11 goals and that was enough for the Panthers at home against visiting King Philip. Senior Matt Lazzaro and sophomore Jayden Consigli each scored four goals and added four assists to pace the Panther’s offense. Luke Davis added three goals and one helper, Joe Consigli scored once and had three assists, and Justin Abely and Cody DiMatteo both finished with one goal and one assist.

Franklin, 19 @ King Philip, 3 – FinalNine different Franklin players found the back of the net as the Panthers swept the season series with King Philip. Kaitlyn Carney led the way with five goals and one assist, Kate O’Rourke added three goals and one assists, and Jackie O’Neil (assist) and Stella Regan (two assists) each scored once. Head coach Kristin Guarino praised the defensive leadership of Sydney Hawkins and Ali Socci.

Taunton, 6 @ Mansfield, 10 – Final For Taunton, senior Alana Tavares scored a hat trick which including her 250th career goal.

Milford, 3 @ Stoughton, 9 – FinalStoughton improved to 3-1 on the season with a win over visiting Milford on Friday. Nicole Baker picked up the win in the circle for the Knights, allowing six hits and striking out eight in a complete game effort. Mel Casna drove in a pair of runs on two hits, Cat Leal added two hits, including a double, and had an RBI, and freshmen Alyssa Edwards and Julie Powers each recorded two hits.

Stoughton, 4 @ Canton, 16 – Final

Mansfield, 10 @ King Philip, 16 – FinalClick here for a Photo Gallery from this game. In a game littered with penalties, Sam Mattson scored seven goals to power KP to its second win over the Hornets in three days. Jake Quirk opened the game with the first of his team-high four goals, but Mattson scored three straight (one man-down and two man-up) to grab the lead. Cody Gordon answered but Sean Crowther was credited with a goal that went off a Mansfield defender for a 4-2 lead after one. Goals by Colin Lightbody and Mattson extended the lead to four but Mansfield responded with three straight to get back into the game. Tommy Smith finished a give-and-go, Quirk scored man-up, and Nico Holmes scored a nice solo goal to make it 6-5. Again, KP had the answer. Mattson took a big hit to score in front and Crowther added a man-up score before the break. Mattson and Quirk traded goals to start the third and then Holmes got his second to make it 9-7. KP went on an 8-0 run to take control. Crowther scored a pair, Mattson got another, and then Benjamin Riggs added his first to put KP up 13-7 at the end of the quarter. Lightbody and Riggs kept the run going early in the fourth, before Holmes completed his hat trick. John Dwyer got one for KP and the Hornets closed out the game with goals from Grady Sullivan and Quirk. KP goalie James Boldy had a big game to keep the Hornets at arm’s length.

Franklin, 3 @ Milford, 20 – FinalFranklin continued its unbeaten start to the season with a big win on the road over the Scarlet Hawks. Kate O’Rourke led the offensive charge with four goals and one assist, Jamie Tanner added two goals and two assists, and Kaitlyn Carney added three goals and one assist. Anna Grasso had a strong game defensively for the Panthers.

King Philip, 17 @ Mansfield, 3 – FinalThe Warriors pushed their undefeated start to four games with a big win on the road over Mansfield. Julia Marsden found the back of the net six times along with two assists to lead the KP offense. Lily Brown added three goals and two assists, Morgan Cunningham (assist) and Haley Izydorczak each scored a hat trick, and Ally Peterson and Nikki McDonald each scored once. Emily Campbell (three saves) and Maddie Crowley (one save) split the win in net.

Boys Volleyball
Milford vs. Norton, 5:00

King Philip, 3 @ Bellingham, 0 – FinalKing Philip went on the road and earned a 3-0 sweep (25-10, 25-21, 25-15) over host Bellingham. “The team played really well together we are starting to work out the kinks and work cohesively which is really great to see,” said KP head coach Emily Diiulis. Senior Thomas Beck and junior Carson Mitteness each had key service runs during the match. Senior Joshua Saintilus had a strong showing for the Warrior with some strong swings from the outside.

Attleboro, 7 @ Milford, 0 – FinalAttleboro earned its second win of the season and a sweep of Milford with another shutout win. The Bombardiers had 11 players find the score sheet with Amanda Burns and Shae Salisbury leading the way with two goals apiece. Sarah McMahon and Campbell Compton each recored a pair of assists while Laura McVeigh, Madison Ellis, and Kaelin Coleman all found the back of the net once for Attleboro.

Sharon, 0 @ Canton, 7 – Final

Oliver Ames, 1 @ Foxboro, 1 – FinalOliver Ames and Foxboro split the points on Thursday afternoon, settling for a 1-1 draw at Sam Berns Field. Oliver Ames’ Sofia Anestam scored in the second quarter off of an assist from Georgia Costello. OA goalie Peyton Phillips made nine saves to help the Tigers earn a point on the road.

King Philip, 0 @ Franklin, 2 – FinalFranklin scored twice inside a four-minute space in the opening quarter and held off King Philip the rest of the way to get a key win. Amanda Lewandowski scored both for the Panthers, opening the scoring at 7:07 on an assist from Stephanie Bell and then doubling the lead just over three minutes later. Neilee Hess made five saves in the win for the Panthers. Head coach Michelle Hess praised the defensive play of Kendall Jones and Kate O’Rourke, and added that Sara Carney had a stellar outing in the midfield. KP senior goalie Makenzie Manning kept the Warriors in it with 18 saves and head coach Lisa Cropper said both senior Ali Beltramini and freshman Kelly Holmes played well.

North Attleboro, 2 @ Stoughton, 3 – FinalStoughton nearly stole a point with a late fourth quarter surge earlier in the week in its trip to North Attleboro. This time around, the Black Knights completed the comeback. Trailing 2-1 late in the fourth quarter, Haley Nelson scored her second goal of the game to knot the score at 2-2 with 2:30 to go. Just 30 seconds later, Zofia Bangs deposited the go-ahead goal to give Stoughton a win at home. Lena Allie had 10 saves in net for Stoughton while head coach Dan Mark lauded the excellent defensive performances from Cate Downey and Julia Driscoll.

Taunton, 1 @ Mansfield, 1 – FinalClick here for a Photo Gallery from this game. Taunton scored a fourth quarter goal to pull out a second straight draw against the Hornets. Mansfield jumped into the lead in the second quarter with freshman Lola Varricchione knocking in a loose ball in the crease. Alexandra Burnham picked up the assist. Taunton goalie Emily Gannon made a number of saves and defender Jocelyn Pagliuca stopped several Mansfield breakaways to keep it a one-goal game. In the fourth quarter, Alana Tavares slipped a pass through to Ashley Amaro and the junior forward got a touch past the last defender and raced half the field before scoring the tying goal.










Golf
Milford, 183 @ Attleboro, 177 – Final

Sharon, 168 @ Canton, 154 – FinalThe Bulldogs had five golfers shoot 40 or better on Thursday afternoon at Blue Hill Country Club leading to a win over Sharon. Owen Donovan and Will Gefteas were the match co-medalists, each carding a round of 37. Mike Leonetti, Conor Hunter, Nate MacDonald, and Aiden French each shot a 40 in the win. For Sharon, Nathan Daley had a team-low round of 39, Eric Carter added a 41, and both Rosie Leonard and Noah Glassman carded a round of 44.

Oliver Ames, 175 @ Foxboro, 164 – FinalFoxboro earned a key division win at home at Foxboro Country Club against Oliver Ames. For OA, senior Logan Domenico had a team-low round of 42, senior Sam Kagan added a 43, and both freshman David Rogers and junior Jake Kaplan came into the clubhouse with a round of 45.

Franklin, 158 @ King Philip, 166 – FinalFranklin picked up its sixth straight win to open the season, earning its second straight close win over division foe King Philip. Jack Paterson and Brian Sandham led the way for the Panthers at Wentworth Hill Country Club, both shooting a team-low round of 38. Pat Dolan and Nolan Norton each added a 41 in the win. Mike Matheson was the match medalist, leading KP with a low-round of 37 while Jared Curran chipped in with a 40 for the Warriors.

Mansfield, 163 @ Taunton, 194 – FinalMansfield continued its unbeaten start to the season with its second straight win over the Tigers, this time at Segregansett Country Club. Joe Gormley had the low-round for the Hornets, coming off the links with a 38 while Nate Morreale was right behind with a 39. Ryan Doherty added a 42 and Hunter Tang added a 44 in the win.

Stoughton, 179 @ North Attleboro, 161 – FinalNorth Attleboro defend its home green at Heather Hill Country Club, taking down visiting Stoughton behind a match-medalist round of 39 from sophomore Jake Gaskin. Tyler DeMattio added a 40 for the Rocketeers while both Sam Gallagher and Dillon Harding chipped in with a 41. Anthony Hern paced the Knights with a 42, Jonah Hochberg and Max Huminik each came in at 45 and Jake Curtis finished with a 47.

Boys Cross Country
King Philip, 41 @ Franklin, 18 – FinalNicholas Calitri broke his own course record, setting a new time of 15:56 as he crossed first in Franklin’s win over King Philip. Griffin Sieczkiewicz (16:19) took second overall on the 3.05 mile course and Josh Anderson (16:21) rounded out the top three for the Panthers. Declan Walmsley (fifth, 16:52) and Clancy Golden (seventh, 17:21) also scored in the Panthers’ win.

Mansfield, 32 @ Taunton, 23 – FinalTaunton swept the top three spots in the race to earn its first ever win over Mansfield since joining the Hockomock League. Senior Nolan Tavares won the race in 17:11 while classmate Ty Cali (17:29) took second and freshman Brayden Cali (17:43) was third overall. Junior Ryan Strawbridge (17:51) and Andrew Cali (17:51.5) also scored for the Tigers.

Girls Cross Country
King Philip, 48 @ Franklin, 15 – Final

Mansfield, 24 @ Taunton, 32 – FinalMansfield had the top three finishers in Thursday’s race, all finishing within a minute of one another to get a win over Taunton. Abigail Greenberg crossed the finish line at 20:39 to take first place for Mansfield while Tessa Lancaster (20:41) and Emma Lamson (21:26) took second and third, respectively. Cassidy Rice (seventh, 23:07) also scored for the Hornets. Senior Lily Valcovic was the top runner for the Tigers, taking fourth overall in 21:48. Eighth graders Colby Dunham (fifth, 22:16) and Emersyn DePonte (sixth, 22:52) had strong showings for Taunton.
