Franklin, 7 @ Stoughton, 0 – FinalSenior Donny Tappin, junior Charlie Amante, and junior Sam George all had multiple points as Franklin earned a big win on the road at Stoughton. Tappin and Amante each scored once and had an assist while George registered two helpers in the win. Ben Moccia, Terry O’Neill, Jeff Yelle, Trevor O’Neill and Tyler Powderly also scored for the Panthers while Ethan Cain had an assist in the win.

Field Hockey
Attleboro, 3 @ North Attleboro, 2 – FinalAttleboro senior Anna Beck completed her second half hat trick by scoring the go-ahead goal with five minutes left to complete the Bombardiers’ comeback. North Attleboro led 2-0 at halftime but Beck scored three straight goals to give the visitors a win.

King Philip, 0 @ Canton, 3 – FinalClick here for a Photo Gallery from this game. Canton freshman Ellie Bohane scored a pair of second half goals to lead the Bulldogs to a win over visiting King Philip. Meg Aldrich also had a second half tally for the Bulldogs. KP goalie Makenzie Manning made 12 saves while Molly Piller had a strong showing defensively for the Warriors.

Oliver Ames, 1 @ Foxboro, 2 – Final

Franklin, 9 @ Stoughton, 1 – FinalFranklin’s Amanda Lewandowski scored four first half goals to pace the Panthers to a big win on the road. Lewandowski scored in the 6th minute (from Kate O’Rourke), the 16th minute (from Olivia Rondeau), the 25th minute (unassisted) and in the 28th minute (from Rondeau) to give the Panthers a 4-1 lead at the break. Hanna Richardson added two second half goals for the Panthers. Haley Nelson scored an unassisted goal in the first half for Stoughton.

Taunton, 5 @ Sharon, 0 – FinalAlana Tavares scored a pair of goals to lead the Tigers to a win on the road at Sharon. Kennedy Thielker, Braeley MacDonald, and Kylie Thorpe also scored in the win for Taunton while Kat Robinson and Ashley Amaro also played well in the win.

Attleboro, 0 @ North Attleboro, 3 – FinalNorth Attleboro defended home court with a clean 3-0 (25-15, 25-10, 26-24) sweep of their rivals of Attleboro High. Haley Gaskin dished out 20 assists in the win with Kylie Melanson (nine kills) and Joanna Collins-Bilyeu (eight kills) paced the offense. Lauren Antonetti shined on the service line with six aces to clinch the second set.




King Philip, 3 @ Canton, 2 – FinalClick here for a Photo Gallery from this match.King Philip rallied from a 2-1 deficit to win the final two sets, earning a 3-2 (25-21, 16-25, 19-25, 25-21, 15-12) win over Canton. Catherine Waldeck (12 kills, five blocks), Nicole Coughlan (eight kills, two blocks) and Paige Kannally (six blocks) had strong games at the net for the Warriors while Emma Brooks added six aces, three kills, and 13 digs and Kylie Sullivan had five aces and a pair of kills in the win. Taylor Harris paced the Bulldogs with 19 kills, 12 digs, and a pair of aces, and Jackie Morrissey dished out 15 assists and had five aces. Canton coach Pat Cawley said sophomore Taylor Reynolds (12 assists, ace) did a great job filling in for an injury.

Oliver Ames, 3 @ Foxboro, 0 – FinalOliver Ames went on the road and picked up a 3-0 (25-14, 25-18, 25-13) win over Foxboro. Senior Jordyn Vella had five kills and three blocks in a strong outing for the Tigers while Jordan Bosse added nine kills and six aces. Senior Allie Kemp dished out 23 assists and classmate Alison Barth notched 21 digs. For Foxboro, Grace Boudreau had 10 kills and 10 digs while Kelsey Treweek added 11 digs.

Canton, 165 @ Foxboro, 180 – FinalCanton’s Chris Lavoie fired a match medalist round of 39 to lead the Bulldogs to a key division win on the road. Conor Hunter added a 40 while Will Gefteas, Mike Leonetti, and Nate MacDonald all shot a 43 in the win. Foxboro’s Noah Hicks had a team-low round of 43 while Matt Lathrop added a 45.

King Philip, 166 @ Franklin, 152 – FinalFranklin’s Pat Dolan shot an even par round of 35 to help the Panthers secure a key win over division rival King Philip. Jack Paterson shot a 38, Jake Blaney added a 39, and Quinten Faro carded a round of 40 for Franklin. King Philip’s Jack Hastry led the Warriors with a 40 while Kayla Schuberth and Nate Ihley each finished with a 42.

Milford, 174 @ Attleboro, 159 – Final

Oliver Ames, 158 @ North Attleboro, 160 – FinalOliver Ames’ Tate Hadges birded on the third and fifth holes to help the Tigers grab a two-stroke win over the Rocketeers. Hadges finished with a 37 on the day. North Attleboro’s Jillian Barend shared medalist honors, also shooting a 37.

Taunton, 193 @ Mansfield, 154 – FinalMansfield juniors Nate Morreale and Brian See shared medalist honors, each shooting a 38, to pace the Hornets past visiting Taunton. Ava Haggis and Ryan Dow also played well, finishing at 39.

King Philip, 4 @ Sharon, 0 – Final King Philip scored twice in the final five minutes of the first half and then twice more in the final 10 minutes of the game to earn a win on the road over Sharon. Wes Orzell scored the game-winner, putting KP ahead 1-0 with an unassisted strike in the 39th minute. Three minutes later, Orzell set up senior Brian McCarthy to make it 2-0 just before half. In the 71st, Cam Lawrence deposited a free kick (earned by Evan McEvoy) into the net for a 3-0 advantage. Stephen Griffin added a fourth (assisted by McEvoy) in the final minute. Aidan Lindmark and Grant Orzell combined for the shutout in net for KP.

Field Hockey
Attleboro, 0 @ Canton, 3 – FinalLocked in a one-goal game, Canton freshman Ellie Bohane scored her first two varsity goals inside the final five minutes to secure the win for the Bulldogs. Meg Aldrich put Canton up 1-0 off a corner with 10 minutes left in the first half but the Bulldogs couldn’t solve Attleboro goalie Ava Haggerty (22 saves) until Bohane’s tally with four minutes to go.

Mansfield, 1 @ Foxboro, 1 – FinalClick here for a photo gallery from this gameFoxboro sophomore Kate Collins scored with five seconds left in the game to salvage a point for the Warriors in their season opener against Mansfield. Collins scored off a corner with Molly McElhinney and Ella Waryas factoring in before Collins got the final touch. Stori Rounds put Mansfield up with just under five minutes to play in the first half while Kayla Hunter made six saves for the Hornets.

Franklin, 13 @ Milford, 0 – FinalAmanda Lewandowski and Leila Frankina each scored twice in the first half as Franklin rolled to a win to start the season. Lewandowski finished with three points, including an assist on Elizabeth Clark’s first varsity goal. Neilee Hess earned the shutout for Franklin. Paige Reisman had 20 saves in net for the Hawks.

Haley Nelson scored for Stoughton while Kayla Laboy had an outstanding game in net, making 10 saves.

Attleboro, 0 @ Canton, 3 – FinalCanton opened the season with a 3-0 sweep (25-16, 25-19, 25-16) to give head coach Pat Cawley her 200th victory with the Bulldogs. Senior Taylor Harris led the offense with 15 kills while adding 12 digs and three aces in the win. Angie Elias also had a strong day with seven digs, six kills, and a pair of aces, Liz Bickett added four kills and 11 digs and Nikki Desjardins had a solid defensive showing. Attleboro junior Ana Leonardo dished out 11 assists and sophomore Delia Barthel had three kills and two blocks.

Mansfield, 3 @ Foxboro, 1 – FinalMansfield started the 2019 campaign with a 3-1 (25-11, 25-22, 23-25, 25-21) win on the road over Foxboro. Sam Sternburg paced the Hornets’ defense with 20 digs and added 12 service points while Olivia McGrath had 11 kills and Emily Dardinski added seven kills. Foxboro had a strong defensive game to keep the match close, with Pam Nelson (10 digs), Grace Fortune (nine digs), Sara Addeche (nine digs) and Kelsey Treweek (six digs) leading the way.

Franklin, 1 @ Milford, 3 – FinalMilford bounced back from dropping the first set to secure a 3-1 (24-26, 26-24, 25-20, 25-21) win at home against Franklin. Julia Riordan paced the Hawks offense, dishing out 28 assists. Lauren Corsini had a strong game in the middle with 11 kills and six blocks, Alyssa Williamson added six kills, and Sarah Brogioli anchored the defense with 15 digs.

Stoughton, 2 @ Foxboro, 6 – FinalStoughton scored a pair of first half goals but Foxboro had four straight unanswered goals to pick up a win on the road. The Black Knights opened the scoring in the 16th minute but headed into halftime down 3-2, after being tied 2-2 late in the half. Foxboro added three more goals in the second half. Joe Cusack had four assists and Shane VandenBoom added a pair of goals and an assist to pace the Warriors. Dylan Barreira, Ronnie MacLellan, and Max Beigel all scored once while Nic Beigel had an assists. Stoughton freshman Dante Eschleman scored on a free kick to put the Knights up 1-0. Senior Carter Gerome also scored his first career goal for the Black Knights, assisted by Ryan Reis.

Franklin, 3 @ Taunton, 1 – FinalFranklin built a 1-0 lead at half, doubled that advantage in the second half, and walked away with a 3-1 decision to qualify for the state tournament. Nick Barry opened the scoring on an assist from Donny Tappin to give the Panthers a lead by halftime. Tim Duval and Lucas Moura scored second half goals for Franklin.

Mansfield senior Ethan Brill-Cass scored game-winner in the 78th minute to give the Hornets a win and at least a share of the Kelley-Rex division title. After a long throw from Dylan Buchanan, Oliver Ames’ clearance was knocked down by a partial block from a Mansfield player. Brill-Cass latched onto the loose ball and placed it into the far corner for the winner.

Milford, 0 @ North Attleboro, 0 – FinalBoth teams had chances to find the back of the net but didn’t convert as North, Milford settled for their second draw of the season. Kyle Briere made three saves for the Rocketeers while Tiago Carvalho and Lucas Da Silva had strong games for the Hawks.

Girls Soccer
Attleboro, 6 @ King Philip, 0 – FinalKP broke the game open with five goals in the second half. Avery Snead scored a hat trick and had an assist for the Warriors. Snead opened the scoring off an assist by Chloe Layne in the first half. Snead doubled the lead with a penalty kick in the second half and then assisted on a Layne goal. Ally Stanton made it 4-0 from Layne and then Layne assisted on Snead’s third. Layne wrapped up the scoring with her second goal (and fourth point) off an assist by Molly MacDonald.

Foxboro, 8 @ Stoughton, 1 – FinalJordyn Collins had two goals and two assists for the unbeaten Warriors, who maintain their lead at the top of the Davenport division. Mackenzi Fraser had two goals and an assist, Kailee McCabe had a pair of goals, Aislinn Serveas scored her first goal of the season (assisted by Katie Huether), and Lizzy Davis chipped in with a goal as well.

Taunton, 0 @ Franklin, 4 – FinalAnna Balkus scored twice and Calen Frongillo had a pair of assists to lift Franklin to a big win to keep pace with league-leading Mansfield. Sydney St. Marie and Bridgette Ginley also scored goals for the Panthers. Hailey Toolin and Kaylee DeSimone each had assists. Franklin goalie Breanna Atwood made three saves for the clean sheet.

North Attleboro, 3 @ Milford, 1 – FinalJuliana France opened the scoring for Milford, but Kayla Pasquel answered with a 20-yard strike to tie the game at 1-1. In the second half, Alex Moulson scored off a pass from Lydia Santos for what turned out to be the game-winner and Ashlyn Gaulin, who assisted on North’s first goal, scored off a Pasquel assist to seal the two points. With a goal and assist on Friday, Gaulin moved into third on North’s career scoring list with 82 points.

Oliver Ames, 1 @ Mansfield, 4 – FinalBryn Anderson scored a pair of goals to keep Mansfield in first place in the division. Maria Sevastos and Kerina Geminiani also scored goals for the Hornets, while Katie Garvin, Steph Kemp, and Kaylee Smith all recorded assists in the win. Allison Evin scored for Oliver Ames.

Taunton, 3 vs. New Bedford, 0 – FinalTaunton took a 1-0 lead into halftime and then scored two late goals to secure the win over visiting New Bedford. Cierra Bartel, Caitlin Connors, and Kennedy Thielker each scored once for the Tigers.

North Attleboro, 2 @ Mansfield, 3 – FinalMansfield overcame a 2-1 deficit, winning the final two sets to prevail 3-2 (3-25, 25-19, 25-27, 25-21, 15-12) in a non-league win over North Attleboro. “It was a great team effort by the whole team,” said Mansfield head coach Melissa Heeden. Abby Sullivan has 18 service points with half of those coming in the fifth set to help the Hornets each the win. Greenly Kelly added 12 kills and four blocks, Olivia McGrath had 11 kills, had Katie Dardinski finished with 15 service points and five digs for Mansfield. For North Attleboro, Brooke Street had a great defensive game while Grace Munley had a strong game at the net with four blocks.

Milford, 3 @ Nipmuc, 0 – Final

Stoughton, 3 @ Brockton, 2 – FinalIn one of the tightest matches of the season, Stoughton avenged a five-set loss to the Boxers from earlier in the season with a 3-2 (26-24, 27-25, 23-25, 17-25, 16-14) win on the road. Molly Turner led the Stoughton offense with 18 kills while Delaney Nagel added 14. Amaya Morris recorded nine blocks and Mia Bennett was strong on defense with 38 digs.

Oliver Ames, 2 @ Canton, 2 – FinalCanton scored a pair of goals in the opening 10 minutes but Oliver Ames responded with a pair of second half goals to earn a point on the road. Senior Griffin Roach scored a pair of early goals to put the hosts ahead, a lead that Canton took into halftime. But Oliver Ames struck for a pair of goals inside a five minute span to level the scoring. Sophomore Kevin Louhis brought the visitors within one on an assist from sophomore Colin Milliken in the 59th minute, and two minutes later, Milliken tied the game off a feed from Haendel Louhis.

Taunton, 1 @ Stoughton, 1 – FinalStoughton junior Mason Eschleman scored his first career goal in the final five minutes to hepl the Black Knights earn a point against visiting Taunton. Eschleman finished off a centering pass from John Ortiz with just three minutes to play to bring Stoughton level. Taunton took the lead in the 10th minute when Mateusz Hagemajer converted a pass from Dylan Kullas. Stoughton sophomore Nolan Gerome made 22 saves in net while Taunton keeper Nolan Melo made 13 stops.

Girls Soccer
Canton, 0 @ Oliver Ames, 1 – FinalOliver Ames used a first half goal to earn a 1-0 win over visiting Canton, clinching a spot in the state tournament. Daniella Ferrini scored off a rebound of Erin Holmberg’s shot to put the Tigers ahead. Emma O’Donnell recorded the shutout in net for Oliver Ames.

Stoughton, 1 @ Taunton, 2 – FinalAlex Wapenski scored a pair of goals to help the Tigers edge Stoughton. Stoughton’s goal was scored by Cintia Khouzami, assisted by Mackenzie Manning. Nicole Weir and Nikki Anderson both had strong games on defense for the Knights.

The Bulldogs created a number of chances to try and put the game away in the second half but Ostrander made a series of saves to keep the Tigers in it. Sophomore Riley O’Connor earned the shutout for Canton.

King Philip, 0 @ Foxboro, 1 – FinalFoxboro senior Sophia Lowe scored late in the first half as the host Warriors handed King Philip its first loss of the season. Lowe converted with 4:15 left in the first half to give Foxboro the lead. King Philip had over 20 shots on goal but Foxboro keeper Julia Carangelo had a strong game, recording the shutout.

Franklin, 7 @ Sharon, 0 – FinalFranklin raced out to a 4-0 lead at halftime and never looked back in a win against Sharon. Cassi Ronan and Stephanie Bell each scored a pair of goals to pace the Panthers’ offense, Amanda Lewandowski and Victoria Quinn each had a goal and an assist in the win, and Olivia Rondeau (first career goal) and Katie O’Rourke (assist) each had one point apiece.

Taunton, 2 @ Stoughton, 0 – FinalAfter the majority of the game went without any scoring, Taunton tacked on two goals late in the second half to grab two points on the road in a win over Stoughton. Taylor Harris had eight kills, one block, and 13 digs, Olivia Chinsen had a solid night with two aces, three kills, and 10 digs, and Erin Devine and Bailey Shea both had solid games at the net, combining for seven blocks and eight kills. Nicole Brown continued to run the court with 17 assists and five kills for the Bulldogs. Oliver Ames’ Jordan Bosse had 12 kills, eight digs and three aces, Sadie Homer finished with 32 dig, and Allie Kemp added 24 assists.

Coughlan had a team-high 12 kills while Waldeck added nine to pace the offense. Kornfeld finished with 10 service points, including four aces while Masse had 11 service points, one ace, and three kills.

Mansfield, 2 @ North Attleboro, 3 – FinalAfter splitting the first four sets, North Attleboro earned the win with a 15-5 win in the fifth set, taking the match 3-2 (25-19, 19-25, 25-21, 23-25, 15-5). For Mansfield, Greenly Kelly had 11 kills and three blocks and Sam Sternberg added 19 digs and 15 service points.

Taunton, 0 @ Stoughton, 3 – FinalStoughton swept Taunton (25-22, 25-23, 25-16) in a close match, earning its ninth win of the season and clinching a spot in the state tournament. Tommy Dimock (37) and Thomas Singleton (38) both had sub-40 rounds while Conor Hunter carded an even 40 for Canton. Sharon’s Corey Carter had one of the best rounds of any Hock golfers this season, earning match medalist honors with a 33. Ethan Skelly was also impressive, shooting a 34 for the Eagles.

Foxboro, 177 @ Franklin, 166 – FinalFranklin’s Matt D’Errico earned match medalist honors after shooting a 40. Jack Paterson (41), Jake Blaney (42), and Gerard Collins (43) all scored for the Panthers while junior Matt Lathrop led the Warriors with a 41.

Mansfield, 158 @ Stoughton, 179 – FinalMansfield sophomore Jason See carded a round of 38 to earn match medalist honors and pace the Hornets to a win on the road against Stoughton. Milford, 2 @ Sharon, 1 – FinalMilford sophomore Nuno Mestre netted his first career goal, which turned out to be the game-winner, as Milford kept its postseason hopes alive. With the win, the Scarlet Hawks need one point from their season finale against Nipmuc. Sophomore Walisson de Oliveira opened the scoring midway through the first half, finishing a fed from Heitor Silva. Then Mestre converted a cross from Zach Brown midway through the season. Sharon scored its goal inside the final five minutes.

Foxboro, 0 @ North Attleboro, 4 – FinalNorth Attleboro coach Bill Wallace earned his 200th career win as the Rocketeers got a brace from Leah Jette to earn the home win. Jette scored eight minutes into the game off a Kayla Pasquel assist and added a second off an Ashlyn Gaulin assist with 14 minutes to play. In between, Emma Gaulin scored on a Haley Guertin assist and Aine Mendonca added a goal early in the second half from a Julia Tolfa assist. Emma Noreck earned the clean sheet for North.

Franklin, 0 @ King Philip, 5 – FinalChloe Layne scored a brace and Avery Snead had a goal and two assists to lead the Warriors to a big win in the season finale to clinch at least a share of the program’s first league title since 2002. Layne opened the scoring nine minutes into the game off a Snead assist and she added an unassisted goal four minutes after the break. Abby Baker knocked in a third off a Snead assist and then Snead scored on a 20-yard free kick for a 4-0 lead after 53 minutes. Ally Stanton scored the fifth on a first-time shot off an Emma Corcoran corner. KP coach Gary Pichel said, “The team is so excited to be champs after a 15-year drought!”

Sharon, 0 @ Milford, 1 – FinalMaggie Boyle scored from the penalty spot inside the final minute to lift the Hawks to victory. According to Milford coach Jay Mastaj, Brianna Braza, Leanne Kibbee, Rachel LeBlanc and Julia Oliveira played well in the win. Sharon had its chances during the game, according to Eagles coach Brad Furnival, with Sabrina Robbins hitting the post and Ally Filipkowski forcing a goal-line clearance. He added, “My girls played excellent and did everything but score.”

King Philip, 3 @ Franklin, 0 – FinalKing Philip’s Claire Lawler scored a pair of goals in the first half and set up the third to help KP cap its Hock schedule with a win on the road. Lawler scored on a corner with 9:25 to play in the first from Nicole Conner, and then scored with 2:39 left in the half, again on a corner, on a pass from Dana Truini. Liz Furfari iced the game, taking a feed from Lawler with 15:29 to play. Franklin junior Christina Luccini made 10 saves in net, including a stop on a penalty stroke.
