Foxboro, 2 @ North Attleboro, 11 – FinalNorth Attleboro’s Matt Wanless allowed four hits while striking out four batters in six innings of work to earn the win, earning the Rocketeers a berth in the state tournament. Foxboro took a 1-0 lead after a half inning but Big Red plated three runs in the bottom half to get the lead – one it never relinquished. Jeff Gale scored on a single from Zach DeMattio, and then DeMattio and Brendan McHugh scored on a double from Nick Raneri. North added three more in the second inning, all with two outs. Nick Sinacola was hit by a pitch and came around to score on a triple from Gale for North’s fourth run. Big Red capitalized on a pair of errors to make it 6-1. Peter Cohen put an exclamation point on the win with a grand slam in the sixth inning. Chad Bearce went 2-for-3 with an RBI for Foxboro.

Sharon, 3 @ King Philip, 4 – FinalKing Philip Chris Sawyer had a two-run single in the bottom of the seventh inning to lead the Warriors to a walk-off win over Sharon. The Eagles took a 3-2 lead into the bottom of the seventh but KP sophomore started the rally with a single. Jaret stole second base and David Morganelli and Jeremy Rhines followed with consecutive walks before Sawyer’s game-winning hit. Sharon rallied for three runs in the sixth inning to take the lead. Liam Rohan pitched 5.1 innings for the Warriors while Tim Crowley pitched a 1-2-3 seventh inning for the win.

Softball
Foxboro, 13 vs. Westwood, 1 – Final

King Philip, 4 vs. Dighton-Rehoboth, 2 – FinalKing Philip junior Meghan Gorman launched a three-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning to give the Warriors a walk-off win over Dighton-Rehoboth. Gorman and Hailey McCasland each had two hits and Nicole Carter had a strong game defensively. Elise Pereira didn’t allow a run over the final five innings, striking out nine while walking just one.

Milford, 13 @ Newton North, 0 – Final (6 inn.)Milford flexed its offensive muscles in a showdown between two of the top teams in the state. The Hawks set the tone with three runs in the top of the first, tacked on single runs in each the third and fourth, three more in the fifth inning and put the game out of reach with five runs in the sixth inning. Shannon Cormier had three hits, including a double, with four RBI and two runs scored to lead the offense. Sabrina Haarstick (double, three RBI0, Jess Tomaso (RBI, two runs), and Kate Irwin (two runs, stolen base) each had two hits apiece while Emily Piergustavo (three walks) scored three times. Kelley Reichert also had two htis, including an RBI double, while allowing just five hits in the circle. Reichert struck out three in six innings of work.

North Attleboro, 8 @ Dartmouth, 7 – FinalNorth Attleboro trailed 4-0 after four innings, and 6-2 in the sixth inning, but rallied for a win in a tournament-like game. Big Red put up five runs in the sixth inning with Ashley Cangiano (two hits) and Abby Gallagher (three hits) each coming through two two-run hits. Gallagher knocked in one more run in the top of the seventh for the needed insurance run. Katherine Munley added three hits, Emily Nardelli was stellar in the field, and Bella Erti struck out eight and didn’t issue a walk to earn the win in the circle.

Stoughton, 1 vs. Brockton, 0 – FinalStoughton senior Gina Carafa tossed a shutout and drove in the only run of the game to lead the Black Knights to a win over neighboring Brockton. Carafa went 3-for-3 and had an RBI in the third inning, freshman Nicole Baker went 2-for-3, senior Krista Michienzi added a double, and Brianna Ferrandiz chipped in with a single. In the circle, Carafa allowed just four hits while striking out six. The Black Knights had a strong day defensively behind Carafa.

Girls Lacrosse
Attleboro, 2 @ North Attleboro, 14 – FinalThe Rocketeers jumped out to a 10-2 halftime lead and held the Bombardiers scoreless after the break to get the win. Katie Lindstrom and Mackenzie Rosenberg each scored five goals for North, while Julia Dakin and Camille Pizarro each scored a pair and Maggie O’Brien added one.

Foxboro, 13 @ King Philip, 9 – FinalKing Philip and Foxboro kept it close for the majority of the game but the visitors scored six of the final eight goals in the game to earn the win. Tied 7-7, Foxboro build a 10-8 lead by consecutive goals from Sophia DiCenso with just over four minutes to go. Caroline Klim led King Philip with five goals, Dana Truini added two goals and an assist, and Lauren Anderson and Alli Meehan each tallied one goal. Caroline Watson made 11 saves in net for the host Warriors.

Mansfield @ Milford, 3:45

Sharon, 12 @ Wayland, 19 – FinalEmma Eberhardt recorded seven points and Sabrina Robbins had four but the Eagles were grounded on the road by Wayland. Eberhardt had four goals and three assists, Robbins scored three times and had one helper, Abbi Solomon and Jenna Goldstein each netted a pair of goals, and Mia Lappen scored her first career goal for Sharon.

Boys Tennis
North Attleboro, 4 @ Franklin, 1 – FinalNorth Attleboro capped its memorable week with an impressive win over a good Franklin team. Richard Bermudez won 6-1, 6-1 at first singles, Christian Bermudez won 6-1, 6-3 at second singles, and freshman Jonah Manso lost just one game in a 6-1, 6-0 win at third singles. The team of Alex Rinaldi and Sam Gallagher earned a 6-4, 7-5 win at second doubles for North. Franklin’s Derek Wu and Tyler DiPalma won 6-3, 5-7, 10-8 at first doubles.

King Philip, 4 @ Stoughton, 1 – FinalStoughton freshman Waseem Sablon earned an impressive win at first singles but King Philip earned the victory with wins at the other two singles matches and both doubles matches. Sablon won 6-3, 3-6, 11-9 for Stoughton’s point. Nick Putney won 6-1, 6-0 at second singles and Jack Cannon didn’t lose a game in a 6-0, 6-0 win at third singles. The team of Nick Ihley and Nate Ihley earned a 6-0, 6-1 win at first doubles while Zak Ryan and Tyler Dowd won 6-1, 6-0 at second doubles.

Milford, 0 vs. Hopedale, 5 – Final

Girls Tennis
Mansfield, 4 @ Attleboro, 1 – FinalMansfield swept singles play and earned another win in doubles to get a victory on the road at Attleboro. Sarah Doyle won 6-2, 6-0 at first singles, Elizabeth Elsener earned a 6-2, 6-2 win at second singles and Aryana Khosravani won 6-2, 6-3 at third singles. The team of Tessa Garufi and Hannah Podolske earned the Hornets’ fourth point with a 1-6, 6-3, 6-2 win at first doubles. Attleboro’s Jill See and Grace Mayer won 6-2, 6-3 at second doubles.

Foxboro, 5 @ Dighton-Rehoboth, 0 – Final Foxboro went on the road and won all five matches in straight sets against Dighton-Rehoboth. Sophia Prinos (first singles) and Pamela Nelson (second singles) each won 6-0, 6-0 while Kayla Prag emerged from third singles with a 6-4, 6-3 win. The team of Julia Muise and Sarah Prag prevailed 6-1, 7-5 at first doubles and Kendell Milender and Olivia Dantona teamed up for a 6-2, 6-1 win at second doubles.

Franklin, 0 @ North Attleboro, 5 – FinalIt was a clean sweep for the Rocketeers, taking all five matches in straight sets to defend home court. Jordan Willis didn’t drop a game in a 6-0, 6-0 win at first singles, Emily Chiasson earned a 6-0, 6-1 win at second singles, and Katie Ovoian emerged from third singles with a 6-1, 7-6 (10) decision. Azka Siddiq and Leah Marceau won 6-0, 6-0 at first doubles and the team of Monica Nakhla and Haley Strom won 6-3, 6-0 at second doubles.

Stoughton @ King Philip, 3:45

Sharon, 2 @ Martha’s Vineyard, 3 – FinalSharon suffered its first setback of the season, falling on the road to powerhouse Martha’s Vineyard. Nupur Shukla won 6-3, 6-1 at first singles and Lulu Yuan prevailed in three sets to earn Sharon’s two points.

#2 Milford, 8 vs. #15 Plymouth North, 0 – FinalMilford needed just five hits to plate the five runs in the first inning as the Scarlet Hawks cruised to a big win in their first tournament game. Kate Irwin had three hits and scored a pair of runs while Maggie Farrell (double, two RBI) and Jess Tomaso (two doubles, three RBI) each had two hits for the Hawks. Maddie Bonvino (1-for-3) chipped in with two RBI. Ali Atherton allowed just three hits in six innings of work, striking out four.

#23 Stoughton, 5 @ #10 Norwood, 6 – Final (8 inn.)Stoughton pushed No. 10 seed Norwood to extra innings in their preliminary round game. The Black Knights nearly escaped a bases loaded jam in the bottom of the eighth after Norwood started the inning with a lead-off triple. Stoughton walked the next two batters and nearly turned a 1-2-3 double play, but with one out and a drawn-in outfield Erin Murphy lined a game-winning single to left for the Mustangs. Val Whalen, Alessandra Loffedo and Shannon Flaherty each had hits for the Black Knights and Krista Michienzi drove in a pair of runs.

Boys Soccer
Mansfield, 2 @ Attleboro, 0 – Final – Chris Elsner picked up his sixth assist of the season, finding Brad Eames for the opening goal just seven minutes into the game to give the Hornets the early lead. Cullin Anastasia doubled the Hornets’ lead just seconds before the halftime before off an assist from Jareme DiLirenzo. Michael Kirejczyk made five saves in net and got strong performances from Harry Braidt, Max Gurnon, Nick Hyland and Elsner in front of him. 

Canton, 1 @ Stoughton, 1 – Final – Freshman Fabio Ponce De Leon finished off a long throw in from Josh Mitchell in the first half but Canton freshman Paul Corcoran scored his first career goal to pull the Bulldogs level. 

Taunton, @ King Philip, 4 – Final – Tyler Mann scored the opening goal inside the first 10 minutes off an assist from Joe Kellett and then Mann returned the favor less than 10 minutes later, finding Kellett on a corner kick. Will Weir also scored a first half goal and Cam Mullins added a fourth for the Warriors early in the second half. 

Milford, 0 @ Oliver Ames, 2 – Final – Junior Thomas McCormick set up a goal in both the first and second halves to push OA to a key divisional win. McCormick assisted on Keegan Nutt’s goal in the first half and then McCormick set up Jack Sheldon in the second half.
Girls Soccer
Attleboro, 1 @ Mansfield, 4 – Final – Alle Bezeau, Stephanie Kemp, Jen Kemp and Katie Bongarzone all scored second half goals to give Mansfield head coach Kevin Smith his 100th career victory. Paige Medeiros scored for Attleboro. 

Stoughton, 1 @ Canton, 6 – Final – The Bulldogs created a number of chances, according to coach Kate Howarth, and had five different players score goals in the win. Meaghan Hunter scored twice for Canton, which also got goals from Hannah Link, Riley Duserick, Sarah MacQuarrie, and Sarah Connelly. Stoughton’s goal was scored by Krista Michienzi off a cross from Mia Greene. 
Foxboro, 5 @ Sharon, 0 – Final – Riley Collins scored a hat trick for Foxboro and Hannah Burns and Hailey Maling each scored once. 

King Philip, 2 @ Taunton, 3 – Final
Oliver Ames, 3 @ Milford, 0 – Final – Oliver Ames jumped out to a 2-0 lead at halftime behind goals from junior Francesca Calabraro and senior Delaney Benton. Junior Kiana Lozzi added a second half goal for the Tigers. Milford head coach Jay Mastaj said Katie Brown, Kristen Franzini and Nichole Dahlgren played well for the Scarlet Hawks.

Oliver Ames, 3 @ Sharon, 1 – Final
Field Hockey
Mansfield, 4 @ Attleboro, 1 – Final – Olivia Horn found the back of the net twice to pace Mansfield to a key divisional win over Attleboro. Caitlin Whitman and Brianna Puccia each scored once for the Hornets.

Canton, 1 @ Stoughton, 2 – Final – Angela Connelly’s goal with 2:39 left in the game lifted Stoughton to its first win over Canton in over a decade. Mia Russell scored Stoughton’s first goal.

Sharon, 0 @ Foxboro, 7 – Final – Annie McGeary scored a hat trick for the Warriors. 

North Attleboro, 0 @ Franklin, 5 – Final – Senior Samantha Jones made nine saves in net to get the shutout as Franklin bounced back from its first loss of the season. Freshman Annie Walsh scored a pair of goals while senior Kelsey McPhee, sophomore Christina Quinn and freshman Cassi Ronan each scored once. 

Taunton, 1 @ King Philip, 3 – Final – King Philip netted a pair of goals in the second half to break a 1-1 deadlock at halftime. Courtney Foley scored twice, one assisted by Christina Hathaway and one by Casie Curtin. Liz Furfari netted an unassisted goal for KP.

Attleboro, 22 @ King Philip, 33 – Final

Milford, 25 @ Canton, 30 – Final – Canton senior Mark Clancy broke the course record time, finishing in 16:08 to beat the old record by 13 seconds. Canton’s other finishes were sophomore Jack Healey in fourth (17:09), senior Courtland Priest in sixth (17:41) Thomas Cahill in ninth (18:04) and Andrew Salvatori in 11th (18:27).

Attleboro, 50 @ King Philip, 15 – Final – King Philip took the first five spots in the race with sophomore Erin Quinn leading the way in 20:41. Erica Layne, Leia Quinn, Nicole Jutras and Brianna Aubin also finished in the top five. 

Milford, 34 @ Canton, 25 – Final – Canton’s Cat Song set a new course record (17:57), smashing the previous record (19:26) but nearly 90 seconds. Olivia Stevens finished fourth (22:13), Ally Chin finished fifth (22;21), Emily Orkin in seventh (22:35) and Margaret Polsgrove (22:54) in eighth.

Golf
Milford, 104 @ Stoughton, 122 – Final (6 holes) – Ryan Tomaso, Anthony Arcudi, Riley Lynch and Tylor Renaud were the top four finishers for the Scarlet Hawks. Eoin Doherty was the top finish for Stoughton.

Sharon, 176 @ Canton, 156 – Final – Junior Pat Duggan and sophomore Danny Powers each shot 39 for the Bulldogs, who qualified for the state tournament with the win. Junior Jackson Maffeo added a 39 and Jack Goyetch shot 41 for Canton. Sharon’s Jordan Chabot shot a team-low 39. 

Taunton, 200 @ King Philip, 203 – Final – After being tied at 159 through four cards, the match was decided on the fifth card with Taunton edging KP by three strokes. Mario Wilson and Kaynel Gonsalves each shot 39 for Taunton while Justin Proto shot a 40. For King Philip, Mickey Riley was the match medalist with a 37 and sophomore Danny McLoughlin added a 38. 

Oliver Ames, 158 @ Attleboro, 175 – Final – Steven Tasho and Brian Lambert each carded a 39 to lead the Tigers to a win. Tyler Letendre shot a 40 for Attleboro.

North Attleboro, 166 @ Mansfield, 164 – Final
