Mansfield, 8 @ Walpole, 1 – FinalMansfield continued to improve its resume for the postseason with a win over Walpole. The Hornets’ offense scored in every inning but the sixth inning and after the Rebels tied the game 1-1 in the top of the second, Mansfield responded with three runs of its own in the bottom half. Tyler Dalton (RBI, run) and Mike Hargadon (two RBI, run) each had two hits for the Hornets while Dan Saraceno was responsible for driving in two more runs. Kevin Dow earned the win, striking out 10 with four hits allowed and two walks.

North Attleboro, 8 vs. Bishop Feehan, 3 – FinalNorth Attleboro scored three runs in the fifth inning to break open a 2-2 game and never looked back to beat Feehan. Brendan McHugh scored from first after a throwing error on a sac bunt, Nick Sinacola scored on a Zach DeMattio double, and DeMattio came across on a sac fly from Nick Raneri. The Rocketeers added insurance in the sixth inning when Nate Pearce launched a three-run home run to make it 8-3. Feehan took a 2-0 lead in the first inning but North tied it in the bottom half on Pearce’s two-out two-RBI single. Pearce finished the day with five RBI, DeMattio had a pair of doubles, and Sinacola went 3-for-3 with three runs scored. Matt Wanless earned the win, allowing one earned run in 6.1 innings of work while striking out five.

Taunton, 6 @ Durfee, 2 – FinalTaunton’s Tyler Medeiros dazzled on the mound, striking out 11 to earn the win for the Tigers. Medeiros allowed one earned run on three hits and no walks in a stellar performance. Jacob Crawford had a three-run triple for the Tigers while Medeiros added two hits, a run scored, and two RBI.

Softball
Stoughton @ Canton – Postponed to Tuesday, 5/29 at 3:45.

King Philip, 19 @ Foxboro, 0 – Final (5 inn.)King Philip’s offense accounted for 21 hits as the Warriors rolled to a big win on the road over Foxboro. Elise Pereira launched a three-run home run while Brooke Taute and Jess Bonner each added a solo shot in the game. Taute, Meghan Gorman, and Faith Turinese each had three hits while Marjorie Guerrier and Hailey McCasland each belted two hits. Pereira and Turinese combined to throw a two-hit shutout.

Mansfield, 2 @ Holliston, 4 – FinalMansfield had the tying run on second base in the top of the seventh inning but a nice play in right field robbed the Hornets of a hit and put an end to the visitor’s rally. Sydney Woods had a pair of hits for the Hornets while Kara Bendanillo, Mady Bendanillo, Kerran Holmes and Caitlin Gomes each had one hit. Mansfield pitcher Sarah Cahill struck out six and allowed four hits.

Stoughton, 2 @ Canton, 3 – FinalIn a rematch from earlier in the week, Stoughton once again took wins at first and second singles but Canton won the match with a sweep of doubles play and a win at third singles. Freshman Minh Duong won 6-2, 6-4 at third singles, the team of Justin Luk and Tyler Duffy picked up a 6-3, 6-4 win at first doubles and Charlie Malloy and Aidas Jakubenas earned a 6-7, 6-4, 14-12 win at second doubles to seal the win. Stoughton freshman Waseem Sablon, who finished his rookie year at 10-6, won 6-4, 6-2 at first singles and junior Erik Anderson prevailed 6-1, 6-3 at second singles.

Franklin, 1 @ Sharon, 4 – FinalSharon picked up a win in a clash of two of the top teams in the Hockomock this year. The Eagles swept singles play with Fred Bondar (first singles, 6-2, 6-3), Andre Olivei (second, 6-3, 6-2), and Danujan Thirumavalavan (third, 6-0, 6-0) all picking up wins in straight sets. Ashwin Sreevatsa and Arie Chinnappin earned Sharon’s fourth point with a 6-2, 6-0 win at second doubles. Franklin’s Derek Wu and Tyler DiPalma were victorious, 6-4, 6-4, at first doubles.

North Attleboro, 4 @ King Philip, 1 – FinalNorth Attleboro swept singles play and notched another win in doubles to earn a non-league victory over King Philip. Senior Richard Bermudez prevailed with a 6-4, 3-6, 6-1 win at first singles, senior Christian Bermudez won 6-1, 6-1 at second singles, and freshman Jonah Manso notched a 6-0, 6-3 win at third singles for the Rocketeers. The team of sophomore Alex Pfeffer and Sam Gallagher won 6-2, 6-4 at second doubles. KP’s Sean Desroches and Nate Ihley won 1-6, 6-3, 6-2 at first doubles.

Girls Tennis
Canton, 4 @ Stoughton, 1 – FinalCanton concluded its season with a win over Stoughton, dropping just one game among its three singles matches. Natalie Keppler won 6-0, 6-1 at first singles to finish off an impressive rookie season. Fellow freshman Rachel Kupferman won 6-0, 6-0 to cap her strong debut season while Sarah Hernandez also won 6-0, 6-0 at third singles. The team of Nyah Claiborne and Rose Hazam prevailed 6-3, 3-6, 10-8 at second doubles. Stoughton’s Ellie Kashian and Alex Soto emerged from first doubles with a 4-6, 7-6 (6), 10-8 win.

North Attleboro, 5 vs. Bishop Feehan, 0 – FinalNorth Attleboro picked up its 13th win of the season with a clean sweep of Bishop Feehan, taking all five matches in straight sets. Jordan Willis won 6-0, 6-0 at first singles, Emily Chiasson notched a 6-1, 6-0 win at second singles and Katie Ovoian earned a 6-4, 6-3 win at third singles. Azka Siddiq and Leah Marceau recorded a 6-4, 6-1 decision at first singles while Shurobhi Nani and Tara Nair emerged with a 6-3, 6-1 victory at second doubles.

Boys Volleyball
Taunton, 3 @ Greater New Bedford, 1 – FinalTaunton went on the road and picked up a 3-1 (25-21, 22-25, 25-11, 25-13) win over GNBVT to finish the season undefeated at 18-0. Malik Charles stepped up to deliver a big performance for the Tigers, finishing with six kills, 12 assists, and 16 digs. Lance Law added 14 kills, nine digs, four blocks and two aces, Lens Esquil chipped in with 10 kills and one block, Collin Hunter added six kills, two blocks, and 10 digs, and Ricardo DaFonseca finished with 28 assists and chipped in with a pair of kills.

Stoughton, 4 @ Attleboro, 5 – FinalAttleboro’s Tim Callahan drove in the winning run with a two-out hit in the bottom of the seventh inning to give the Bombardiers a walk-off win. Senior Gavin Wildrick earned a one-out walk, senior Brian MacDonald (2-for-2, run, RBI) singled, both advanced on a passed ball, and Waldrick scored on Callahan’s hit. Jon Candiales pitched a complete game for the win, striking out three without issuing a walk. Evan Gibb had two RBI for the Black Knights while Ruben Gonzalez added an RBI triple.

Mansfield, 15 @ Foxboro, 0 – Final (6 Inn.)Mansfield’s offense continued to roll, collecting 18 hits and scoring double-digit runs for the second straight game. Thirteen different Hornets collected a hit, with Tyler Dalton (3-for-4, four RBI, two runs), Kevin Dow (two RBI, three runs), Justin Pena (RBI, run), and Kyle Moran (RBI) each having multiple hits. John Carney earned the win, scattering six hits over six innings of work with eight strikeouts and just one walk. JT Burke had two hits for Foxboro.

Franklin, 4 vs. Lincoln-Sudbury, 1 – FinalSenior Colby Fitzgibbons and juniors Scott Elliott and Cooper Ross each had two hits to help the Panthers pick up a win over the Warriors in the first round of the Pedroli tournament. Fitzgibbons had two doubles and scored a run while Elliott had a triple, a run scored and an RBI in the win. Evan Wendell (hit) and Alex Haba (RBI) each added a run scored. Bryan Woelfel earned the win, scattering eight hits, striking out six, walking one and allowing just one run in 5.2 innings of work. Jason Ulrickson earned the save with 1.1 perfect innings of relief.

Milford, 3 vs. Hopedale, 0 – FinalMilford senior Andrew Fauerbach allowed just three hits in a complete game effort to earn his first career win. Senior Matt Nickerson went 2-for-3 and knocked in all three of the Hawks’ runs.

Sharon, 1 @ Oliver Ames, 9 – FinalOliver Ames senior Matt Muir collected three hits and drove in three runs to help the Tigers defend home field against rival Sharon. Chris Pearsons added two hits and also had three RBI while Jacob Levine added a hit and an RBI for the Tigers. Tom Parker tossed a complete game one-hitter, striking out seven to pick up the win. Ben Schwartz went 1-for-3 with an RBI for Sharon.

Foxboro, 21 vs. Medway, 9 – Final

Franklin, 0 @ Milford, 12 – Final (6 inn.)Milford senior Kelley Reichert fired a no-hitter to lead the Hawks to a win over Franklin. Reichert struck out eight without issuing a walk for the Hawks. Offensively, Kate Irwin (two runs, stolen base), Sabrina Haarstick (double, two runs, RBI) and Antonia Bonina (two runs) had three hits apiece for the Hawks while Jess Tomaso (two doubles, four RBI) and Maddy Bonvino (two-run home run, three RBI, two runs) each recorded two hits.

Oliver Ames, 12 @ Sharon, 3 – FinalOliver Ames had four players record three hits on the day as the Tigers picked up their second win in the last three games. Lexie Campbell (three runs), Caroline Mahoney (three RBI), Katie Mills (three RBI), and Rachel Han (RBI, three runs) each had three hits in the win. Campbell pitched five innings with five strikeouts and no earned runs allowed while freshman Emma Varella struck out one in two innings of work. Rebecca Clayman had a triple for Sharon.

Taunton, 10 vs. Dighton-Rehoboth, 4 – FinalWith the game tied 1-1, Taunton’s offense exploded for nine runs in the fifth inning to pick up a big win over a top team in the state. Mackenzie Handrahan went 4-for-4 with a double and two RBI while Liana Duarte added three hits, including a triple, and had two RBI. Kya Enos (double, two RBI) and Alexa White (RBI) each added two hits for the Tigers. Freshman Kelsey White (complete game) earned the win in the circle, striking out five with three earned runs allowed on 11 hits.

Attleboro, 7 @ Norton, 0 – Final

Foxboro, 21 @ Milford, 5 – FinalFoxboro’s Louis Piccolo scored three goals and had four assists to pass the 100-point mark on the season.

Girls Lacrosse
Attleboro, 12 vs. Norton, 11 – FinalAttleboro’s Kyra Lyons scored just as time expired to give the Bombardiers the close win over Norton.

Milford, 0 @ Foxboro, 16 – Final

Franklin, 8 vs. Notre Dame Academy, 15 – FinalFranklin cut the deficit to just three late in the first half but the visitors scored three goals inside the final minute to push the lead to six, a lead they wouldn’t relinquish the rest of the way. Erin Walsh had three goals and an assist and Katie Jones scored twice and had an assist. Head coach Kristin Igoe Guarino said Annie Walsh (seven draw wins) played well in the midfield and Grace MacCallum had a strong game defensively.

King Philip, 10 vs. Medway, 7 – Final

Oliver Ames, 8 @ Milton, 18 – FinalChloe Kilkelly scored three goals while Olivia Piazza scored two goals but the Tigers fell on the road to Milton. Sofia Masciarelli, Emalyn Duvall, and Ella Hogan each found the back of the net once.

Boys Tennis
Mansfield, 5 vs. Westwood, 0 – FinalMansfield picked up a sweep at home, though three matches were forced to either a third set or a tiebreaker. Luke Nickerson earned a comfortable 6-1, 6-2 win at first singles, Max Bank prevailed 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (5) at second singles and Luke Devine emerged from third singles with a 6-2, 4-6, 10-5 win. Sethu Odayappan and Jalaj Singh won 6-0, 6-2 at first doubles and Danny Radev and Ben Salden notched a 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 win at second doubles.

Milford vs. Medway, 3:30

Sharon, 3 @ Bishop Feehan, 2 – Final – Sharon showed off its depth with a 3-2 win on the road over Feehan. Andre Olivei earned a 6-3, 6-0 win at second singles and junior Danujan Thirumavalavan had a strong performance with a 6-2, 6-0 win at third singles. The team of Ashwin Sreevatsa and Arie Chinnappan moved up to first doubles and recorded a 6-0, 7-5 win for the Eagles.

Foxboro, 5 @ Taunton, 0 – FinalFoxboro’s three singles players combined to drop just one game as the Warriors went on the road and swept Taunton. Sophia Prinos won 6-0, 6-0 at first singles, Pamela Nelson earned a 6-0, 6-0 win at second singles, and Julia Muise picked up a 6-1, 6-0 win at third singles. The team of Kayla Prag and Sarah Prag earned a 6-1, 7-5 win at first doubles and Olivia Dantona and Kendall Milender prevailed 6-4, 7-5 at second doubles.

Oliver Ames, 3 @ Mansfield, 2 – FinalIn a rematch from earlier this week, Oliver Ames prevailed with another win by the same score. The Tigers picked up wins at third singles (Maura Kiernan, 6-0, 6-1), first doubles (Kristin Bloumbas and Emily Yu, 6-4, 6-0), and second doubles (Olivia Groebe and Rachel Stryke, 6-2, 6-2). Mansfield’s Sarah Doyle won 6-0, 6-3 at first singles and Elizabeth Elsner earned a 7-6 (4), 6-3 win at second singles.

Bishop Feehan, 0 @ Sharon, 5 – FinalSharon defended its home court with a sweep over visiting Bishop Feehan. Lulu Yuan completed her second straight undefeated regular season with a 6-1, 6-0 win at second singles. Seniors Katie Merport and Emily Wen won 6-1, 6-0 at first doubles and Rithika Neti and Sophia Fein notched a 6-2, 6-0 win at second doubles.

Boys Volleyball
Taunton, 3 @ Milford, 0 – FinalIn a clash between conference champions, undefeated Taunton prevailed with a 3-0 sweep of Milford (25-15, 27-25, 25-23). Lens Esquil (12 kills) and Lance Law (11 kills) paced the offense while Malik Charles added nine kills and Collin Hunter chipped in with seven kills. Ricardo DaFonseca finished with 37 assists.

Taunton, 5 @ New Bedford, 0 – FinalTaunton scored two runs in the top of the fourth and then put the game away with three more runs in the top seventh to beat New Bedford. The Tigers had nine hits as a team with Andrew Gomes (two RBI) and Tyler Medeiros (RBI) each recording two. Josh Lajoie pitched six scoreless innings with eight strikeouts to earn the win.

Mansfield, 16 @ Bridgewater-Raynham, 1 – FinalMansfield’s offense used 12 hits, four walks and took advantage of four Trojan errors to pick up a big win on the road. Mansfield broke open a scoreless gae with four runs in the fourth and added seven more in the fifth. Although the Hornets had 12 hits, only one player – Tyler Dalton (three RBI, two runs) – had more than one hit. Ten other Hornets each had one hit with Chris Jenkins and Kyle Moran providing two RBI and a run scored each. Connor Sheehan earned the win, striking out seven with just two walks and three hits allowed in five shutout innings of work.

Softball
North Attleboro, 5 @ Attleboro, 1 – FinalBella Erti struck out 13 and walked just one, while going 2-for-3 at the plate with a homer and two RBI, leading North to the Blue-Red Cup title. Abby Gallagher also went 2-for-2 and drove in three runs, while Olivia Capobianco had two hits and scored two runs and Emily Nardelli, Ashley Cangiano and Katherine Munley each had a hit.

Canton @ Randolph, 4:00

Franklin, 0 @ Bridgewater-Raynham, 3 – FinalFranklin had the same amount of hits as Bridgewater-Raynham but couldn’t string them together to find a run. Both teams had five hits but the Trojans cashed in on a couple of unearned runs. Jackie Cherry had two hits for the Panthers while Maggie Hobby had one and made two nice catches in foul territory behind the plate. Emily Valentino allowed five hits while striking out four.

Mansfield, 8 @ Duxbury, 4 – FinalThe Hornets opened the game with three runs in the first, added three in the fifth and scored a pair of insurance runs in the seventh to pick up the road win. Mady Bendanillo drove in the first run with a double and scored on a double by Felicity McMullin, who scored on a single by Caty DeMassi. In the fifth, Kara Bendanillo again got it started with a single and Megan beat out a bunt to put two on. Mady Bendanillo doubled again, driving in two more runs and then she scored on a sac fly. In the seventh, Letendre and Mady Bendanillo singled and moved up into scoring position on good base-running. McMullin plated one run with a slow roller on the infield and Bendanillo scored on a wild pitch.

Taunton, 14 @ Oliver Ames, 5 – FinalTaunton’s Kelsey White had three hits and knocked in four runs while sister Alexa tossed a complete game with six strikeouts and no walks as the Tigers beat OA. Alexa White scattered five hits while allowing just one earned run to improve to 3-0. Jaylin Couto (home run, four RBI, three runs) and Jaime Brown (RBI) each had two hits for Taunton while Kya Enos (two RBI) and McKenzie McAloon (three runs, two stolen bases) had one hit apiece. For OA, Caroline Mahoney was 2-for-4 with a single, a solo home run and two runs scored, Katie Mills was 1-for-3 with two RBI, and freshman Grace Simone had a single and a run scored.

Boys Lacrosse
Franklin, 12 @ Canton, 5 – Final – Franklin built a 7-1 lead after 24 minutes of play and never looked back to finish its regular season with a win on the road over Canton. Eric Civetti netted seven goals and had three assists while Jake Davis scored a hat trick and had two helpers for the Panthers.

Daniel Lilenfeld added a goal and two assists for Sharon.

Canton, 1 @ Franklin, 20 – FinalKatie Jones led Franklin’s offense with four goals and two assists as the Panthers picked up a win at home. Lilly Kolb added two goals and an assist while Haley DeStefano found the back of the net twice for the Panthers.

North Attleboro, 12 vs. Old Rochester, 16 – FinalNorth Attleboro was tied 7-7 at the half but Old Rochester broke the game open with a strong second half. Kayla Moulin made 11 saves in the game, including the 300th of her career. Camille Pizarro scored five goals, Julia Dakin had three and Mackenzie Rosenberg had a pair for North.

Sharon, 18 vs. Cardinal Spellman, 2 – FinalLydia Chase led the Eagles with five goals and an assist, while Emma Eberhardt played provider with six assists. Sabrina Robbins had a hat trick, while Mia Lappen, Abbi Solomon (two assists), and Jenna Goldstein all scored two goals apiece. Maeve Barbera added one goal.

King Philip, 4 vs. Bishop Feehan, 1 – FinalKing Philip dominated doubles play, losing a combined five games and winning both matches in straight sets to defeat Feehan. Sean Desroches and Nate Ihley won 6-0, 6-1 at first doubles and the team of Nick Ihley and Aidan Ignatius notched a 6-1, 6-3 win at second doubles. Nick Putney prevailed with a 7-6, 3-6, 6-4 win at second singles and Jack Cannon lost just one game (6-0, 6-1) in a victory at third singles.

Sharon, 2 @ North Attleboro, 3 – FinalNorth Attleboro’s Ben Pfeffer and Vikram Senthilakumaran emerged from an epic three-set match at first doubles with a win to clinch a victory for the Rocketeers as well as a perfect league record. Pfeffer and Senthilakumaran won 6-7 (3), 7-6 (4), 7-6 (3) to clinch the Davenport title for Big Red. With North’s win, Sharon’s run of 38 straight years with a league title comes to an end. Richard Bermudez won 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (1) at first singles and Christian Bermudez picked up a 6-1, 6-0 win at second singles. Sharon sophomore Danujan Thirumavalavan won 6-2, 6-0 at third singles and the team of Ashwin Sreevatsa and Arie Chinnappan picked up a 6-1, 6-3 win at second doubles for the Eagles.

Taunton, 5 @ New Bedford, 0 – FinalTaunton picked up its 14th win of the season with a sweep of New Bedford. The Tigers didn’t drop a single game in singles play as Francois Hennaux (first singles), Brett Beaulieu (second), and Charlie Fiske (third) each won 6-0, 6-0. Dylan Kullas and Mike Briggs won 6-0, 6-2 at first doubles and Kyle Dennehy and Trevor Hart paired up for a 6-0, 6-2 win at second doubles.

Girls Tennis
Foxboro, 1 @ Martha’s Vineyard, 4 – FinalFoxboro’s Sophia Prinos picked up a win at first singles but the Warriors fell to Martha’s Vineyard. Prinos earned a 7-6 (6), 6-4 win for the Warriors’ lone point.

Nupur Shukla won 6-0, 6-3 at first singles, Lulu Yuan earned a 6-1, 6-1 win at second singles and Katie Merport recorded a 6-0, 6-3 win at third singles. The Eagles’ first doubles team of Emily Wen and Sachi Bhasin won 6-1, 6-0 while Rithika Neti and Sophia Fein picked up a 6-3, 6-1 win at second doubles.

Taunton, 3 @ Durfee, 0 – FinalTaunton went on the road and swept the Hilltoppers (25-18, 25-17, 25-16) to improve to 16-0 on the season. Ricardo DaFonseca set the offense in motion with 40 assists while Lens Esquil and Lance Law had 13 kills apiece. Collin Hunter and Malik Charle chipped in with six kills each.

Oliver Ames, 3 @ Attleboro, 0 – FinalOliver Ames scored two runs in the second, added another in the third and stranded 13 Attleboro base runners to earn a win on the road. CJ Deveau had a two-RBI hit in the second inning to give Oliver Ames the lead while Chris Pearsons (double), Jake Erlich, and Matt Muir each scored for the Tigers. Tom Parker earned the with five scoreless innings of work while Muir got the save, striking out two in the seventh. Ryan Morry allowed five hits and two walks, striking out three in a complete game effort for the Bombardiers.

Sharon, 1 @ Canton, 2 – FinalSharon tied the game at 1-1 in the top of the seventh but Canton came back with the game-winning run in the bottom half, walking off with a win over the Eagles. Mike Konzal led off the bottom of the seventh with a double and scored on a base hit down the first base line from Nate Quan for the win. Robbie Wilkinson tossed a complete game for Canton, striking out six and walking four with just three hits allowed. Sharon’s Max Tarlin also threw a complete game, striking out six with three walks and seven hits allowed.

Foxboro, 7 @ Milford, 1 – FinalFoxboro senior Devin Hassett allowed just one hit in 3.2 innings of work and sophomore Anthony Mollica didn’t allow any hits in 3.1 innings of relief to lead the Warriors to a win on the road. Milford took a 1-0 lead (Aidan Wilde three walks, run) into the sixth inning but Foxboro exploded for seven runs in the frame to take the lead. Joe Freitas (1-for-3) had two RBI while Joe Cavaleri and JT Burke each had two hits and an RBI in the win. Matt Rongione and Hassett each added a hit and an RBI for the Warriors.

Taunton, 11 @ King Philip, 1 – FinalTaunton’s offense had its best showing of the season, scoring two runs in each the third, fourth, fifth innings and then putting the game out of reach with a five-run sixth inning. Jacob Crawford led the Tigers with three hits while Jack Moynihan (two RBI), Jakob Roberts, and Tyler Medeiros each had two hits. Tyler Pietrzyk had a team-high three RBI for the Tigers. Moynihan tossed five scoreless innings for the win, striking out three.

Stoughton, 1 @ North Attleboro, 2 – FinalNorth Attleboro rallied with two outs in the bottom of the seventh to earn a walk off win over visiting Stoughton. Brendan McHugh got things going with a two-out single and then stole second to get into scoring position. Nick Raneri delivered the big hit with a single to right center to bring McHugh (1-for-2, walk, two stolen bases) home for the win. North took the lead in the fifth inning when Nick Sinacola had a one-out single, pinch-runner Jackson Billingkoff moved to third on a single from Zach DeMattio, and Billingkoff scored on a squeeze dropped by McHugh. Stoughton kept the game alive with a run in the top of the seventh behind a leadoff single from Zak Paquette. Pinch runner Jack Brown stole second and took third on an infield hit from Ruben Gonzalez. Brown then scored on a sacrifice fly from Evan Gibb. Stoughton had Gonzalez in scoring position with just one out but Nick Sinacola (CG, 8 H, 1 BB, 8 K) got two strikeouts to keep the game level. Nate Pearce added two doubles and a walk in the win for North.

Attleboro, 4 @ Oliver Ames, 2 – FinalOliver Ames freshman Emma Varella struck out four in a complete game effort but the Tigers fell just short against Attleboro. Katie Abreu was 2-for-3 with two doubles and a run scored. Abbi Holmes had an RBI and Lexie Campbell scored the other run for the Tigers.

Canton, 11 @ Sharon, 4 – FinalCanton sophomore Caroline Hughes went 4-for-4 at the plate with a pair of doubles and three RBI while freshman Liz Bickett also was 4-for-4 with a double and two RBI to lead the Bulldogs to a big win on the road. Hughes also pitched four scoreless innings to earn the win. Sarah Kelly added a double, Torie Anglin chipped in with a triple, and Ally Chin had a pair of singles for the Bulldogs.

Milford, 19 @ Foxboro, 6 – FinalMilford’s offense exploded for 22 hits, earning a big win on the road at Foxboro. Shannon Cormier (double, two runs, two RBI), Sabrina Haarstick (RBI), and Maddie Bonvino (double, two RBI) each had three hits to lead the Hawks’ offense. Emily Hartman (four RBI, two doubles), Jess Tomaso (three runs, RBI), and Emily Piergustavo (triple, three runs, RBI) added two hits apiece. Kelley Reichert struck out three while allowing three hits in four innings pitched.

Mansfield, 1 @ Franklin, 9 – FinalFranklin’s offense continued to roll, plating nine runs to sweep the season series against Mansfield. Franklin scored runs in all but two innings, plating three in each the second and fourth innings. Jackie Cherry tossed a one-hitter, striking out nine to earn the win in the circle. Maddy White (two doubles, run, three RBI) had three hits for the Panthers while Gabby Colace (two runs, RBI), Anna Balkus (three runs, three stolen bases, two RBI) and Meg Caron chipped in with two hits apiece. Megan Letendre had the lone hit of the game for the Hornets, doubling in the fourth inning to score Kara Bendanillo, who had reached on a walk.

Bella Erti picked up the win, striking out five and allowing four hits, and helped her own cause with a pair of hits and an RBI. Abby Gallagher and Katherine Munley each had three hits for the Rocketeers, while Ashley Cangiano (two RBI) and Katy Daby both had two hits. Stoughton’s Karly Estremera was 1-for-3 with a triple, scoring both of the Black Knights’ runs. Jordan Lyons was 2-for-3 at the plate and played an outstanding game at shortstop. Haley Stone, Sarah McGrath, and Taylor Levine each had a single for the Knights.

Canton, 14 vs. Brookline, 13 – FinalVicki Revanche made 21 saves to help Canton earn a one-goal victory on senior night. Canton coach Laurie Chabot said, “We controlled the game with quick transition, great defense and great shots on goal.” Leah McClellan sparked the Bulldogs offensively with four goals and six assists, while Maggie Connolly added two goals and two assists. Senior Molly Colburn chipped in with a hat trick in the win.

Franklin, 8 vs. Walpole, 9 – Final (OT) – Sophomore Gianna Cameron made 15 saves to keep the Panthers in the game, helping send the game against unbeaten Walpole to overtime, but the Rebels netted the winner to prevail with the win. Annie Walsh had three goals and an assist, Erin Walsh scored once and had an assist, and Kate Jones finished with two goals for the Panthers.

Mansfield scored two runs in the first, three in the second, and one in the fourth to build its lead. Tyler Dalton continued his strong week, going 3-for-4 with four RBI and two runs scored, Kevin Dow had two hits, three RBI, and two runs scored, and Dan Saraceno had two RBI and one run. Connor Sheehan struck out nine with four hits and four walks allowed in four innings of work for the Hornets. Canton’s Jake Aronson went 2-for-4, including a three-run home run in the fifth inning.

Woelfel scattered nine hits while walking just one, striking out eight. Fitzgibbons added an RBI and a run scored while Jake Macchi (two RBI, double), Steve Luttazi (double, run), and Jack Nally (double, run) all finished with two hits for the Panthers. Jake Noviello and Alex Haba each added a hit and a run scored.

Oliver Ames, 5 vs. Dighton-Rehoboth, 2 – FinalOliver Ames junior Sean O’Brien’s three-run double highlighted a five-run second inning for the Tigers. O’Brien (2-for-3, two doubles, run) cleared the bases to put the Tigers ahead while Mitch Goulet (2-for-3) and Chris Pearsons (double, walk, run) each had an RBI during the inning. Michael Mulrean (four strikeouts, one hit) and Matt Muir (two strikeouts, no hits) combined for four innings of relief.

Mansfield, 9 @ Canton, 6 – FinalCanton scored four times in the fourth inning to take a 6-3 lead, but the Hornets scored a pair of runs in the fifth to cut the lead to one and then took the lead with four runs in the seventh. Ashlyn Conley had a bases loaded double with one out in the seventh to bring in the go-ahead and eventual game-winning runs for Mansfield. Caty DeMassi added an insurance run with a deep sac fly to left and Ella Verheggen singled in the ninth run of the game and fourth of the inning. The Hornets had 16 hits on Thursday, including three from Kara Bendanillo and two each for Megan Letendre, Felicity McMullin, DeMassi and Verheggen. Mary Muldoon, Kerran Holmes, Grace Benton, and Sydney Woods also had hits in the win.

Dow struck out nine and didn’t issue a walk to get the win. Offensively, Dow went 2-for-4 and had an RBI triple in the third inning that put Mansfield up 2-0. Kelley Reichert got the win in the circle, striking out nine. Attleboro leadoff hitter Jordyn Lako went 4-for-4 with two runs scored and MacKenzie Killough blasted a two-run home run in the third inning.

Offensively, Kelsey White went 3-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and a stolen base, Kya Enos had two hits including a double, a run scored and an RBI, Abbie McDonough recorded two hits, scored three runs, stole a base, and had an RBI, and freshman McKenzie McAloon drove in three runs for the Tigers.

Foxboro, 4 @ Oliver Ames, 3 – Final Foxboro senior Mandy Ryan had an RBI single in the top of the seventh to help the Warriors come up with a win on the road. Hannah Davis and Chelsea Gibbons each had two hits while Emma Rohan earned the win in the circle, striking out four. Oliver Ames’ Caroline Mahoney went 2-for-4 with RBI, Katie Mills was 2-for-3 with an RBI, Marissa Guarino had two hits and an RBI, and Alexis Campbell had two hits and a run scored for OA. Freshman Emma Varella pitched a complete game for OA, striking out three.

Stoughton, 2 @ Franklin, 12 – Final

North Attleboro, 7 @ Mansfield, 1 – FinalNorth Attleboro broke open a two-run game with four runs in the last two innings to make it two wins in two days for the Rocketeers. Bella Erti struck out 11, allowing only four hits and no walks to pick up the win. Abby Warren and Olivia Capobianco paced the North offense with three hits apiece, while Ashley Cangiano and Katie Daby each had two hits. Katherine Munley came through with a couple of nice grabs in the field, according to North coach Bill Wallace, and Cangiano threw out her third runner attempting to steal in two days. Mary Muldoon drove in the lone Mansfield run in the second, singling in Caty DeMassi. Kara Bendanillo went 2-for-3 for the Hornets.

Canton, 11 @ Attleboro, 4 – FinalCanton raced out to a 5-1 lead at half time and never looked back to beat Attleboro. The Bulldogs, who never trailed in the game, had seven different goal scorers including senior Joey Vaughan.

Milford, 3 @ North Attleboro, 17 – FinalFor Milford, Josh Ligor, Andrew Gallagher, and Mike Demko each scored once while Cullen Burns recorded an assist.


Girls Lacrosse
Attleboro, 6 @ Canton, 15 – FinalCaroline Tourgee had four goals, Molly Colburn scored three goals and had a pair of assists, and Maggie Connolly had two goals and four assists for the Bulldogs. Leah McClellan and Kaitlyn Goyetch each added two goals and an assist, while Alexa Maffeo scored once and had a pair of helpers. Rachel Beatty scored once for Canton and Vicky Revanche made 12 saves in the Bulldogs net.

Taunton, 2 @ King Philip, 19 – FinalKP used nine different goal scorers to put an end to it two-game losing streak. Alli Meehan (one assist), Caroline Klim, Mackenzie Mazur, and Ali Wilson all recorded hat tricks for the Warriors, while Jess Sullivan scored a pair. Izzy Agricola, Jenna Hitchen (one assist), Olivia Tormey, and Dana Truini also scored for KP.

Sharon, 8 @ Foxboro, 19 – FinalSabrina Robbins and Emma Eberhardt both had hat tricks for Sharon in the loss. Robbins added eight draw controls, while Eberhardt also had two assists and four draw controls. Maxine Gordon and Abbi Solomon scored the other goals for the Eagles and Taylor Kim scooped four ground balls.

Oliver Ames, 9 @ Mansfield, 19 – FinalThe Hornets won for the second time in three days to get back to .500 on the season and move into a third-place tie with OA in the Kelley-Rex division. Mansfield had six different goal scorers in the game, led by Katy Garvin’s six and Maggie Danehy’s four. Hannah Sternburg made six saves in the Mansfield goal.

North Attleboro, 15 @ Milford, 2 – FinalNorth Attleboro had its passing game working on Wednesday, getting an assist on all 15 of its goals. Freshman Maggie O’Brien notched her first varsity goal in the win and also had four assists on the day. Julia Tolfa chipped in with six draw controls for the Rocketeers.

Jared Cooper won 6-3, 6-1 at third singles while the team of Ryan Gordon and Estrada won 6-1, 6-1 at first doubles and Luis Sandoval and Eli Araujo didn’t lose a game in a 6-0, 6-0 win at second doubles. Milford’s Brendan Shaughnessy won 6-3, 6-3 at first singles and classmate Cam Doherty took a 7-5, 6-3 decision at second singles.

Canton, 0 @ Taunton, 5 – FinalTaunton picked up its second straight win by sweeping visiting Sharon, taking all three singles matches in straight sets without dropping a game. Francois Hennaux (first singles), Brett Beaulieu (second singles) and Mike Briggs (third singles) all won 6-0, 6-0. The team of Charlie Fiske and Dylan Kulas won 6-3, 6-2 at first doubles while Kyle Dennehy and Alex Pugh prevailed 5-7, 6-4, 10-1 at second doubles.

Tony Calderone and Derek Wu won 6-0, 6-0 at first doubles while Shournik Sompally and Saket Gandham won 6-0, 6-1 at second doubles. Rohan Herur won 7-5, 6-3 at first singles, Liam Marr dropped just two games in a 6-0, 6-2 win at second singles, and Tyler DiPalma won 6-0, 6-1 at third singles.

Sharon, 3 @ King Philip, 2 – FinalKing Philip pushed Sharon to the edge but the Eagles prevailed, keeping their lengthy league win streak alive. Senior Andre Olivei won 6-2, 0-6, 6-4 at first singles and sophomore Alberto Olivei recorded a 6-2, 6-3 win at third singles. Sharon’s third win came from Ashwin Sreevatsa and Arie Chinnappan, who won 6-4, 6-2 at second doubles. King Philip’s Nick Putney won 6-1, 5-7, 7-6 (4) at second singles and the team of Sean Desrochers and Nate Ihley picked up a 6-3, 6-7 (3), 7-6 (4) win at first doubles.

North Attleboro, 4 @ Mansfield, 1 – FinalNorth Attleboro swept singles play in straight sets and took another win in doubles play to record a win on the road at Mansfield. Richard Bermudez won 6-1, 6-1 at first singles, Christian Bermudez notched a 6-2, 6-0 win at second singles and freshman Jonah Manso took care of business with a 6-1, 6-0 win at third singles. North’s second doubles teams of Alex Pfeffer and Sam Gallagher won 6-4, 6-4 at second doubles. Mansfield’s Jalaj Singh and Sethu Odayappan won 6-3, 7-5 at first doubles.

Taunton, 3 @ Canton, 2 – FinalTaunton’s first doubles pairing of McKenzie Lucie and Samantha Martin overcame a one-set deficit to record the third and final point to help the Tigers beat Canton. Lucie and Martin won 4-6, 6-0, 6-2 while Taunton’s second doubles team of Amanda Pugh and Brianna Fevrier won 6-0, 6-3 at second doubles. Freshman Jocelyn Pagliuca won 6-4, 6-3 at third singles for Taunton. Canton freshman Natalie Keppler won 6-1, 6-0 at first singles and classmate Rachel Kupferman didn’t lose a game in a 6-0, 6-0 win at second singles.

Oliver Ames, 0 @ Foxboro, 5 – FinalFoxboro’s Sophia Prinos and Pamela Nelson won their singles matches in straight sets to help the Warriors earn a victory. Prinos won 6-1, 6-0 at first singles, Nelson notched a 6-0, 6-0 win at second singles, and Kayla Prag emerged with a 6-2, 4-6, 10-4 win at third singles. The Warriors’ team of Sarah Prag and Julia Muise won 6-1, 5-7, 11-9 while Olivia Dantona and Kendall Millender recorded a 6-1, 6-4 win at second doubles.

Katie Merport and Emily Wen won 6-2, 6-1 at first singles and Sophia Fein and Rithika Neti recorded a 6-4, 6-3 win at second doubles.

Jordan Willis won 6-1, 6-1 at first singles, Emily Chiasson took a 6-4, 6-0 decision at second singles, and Azka Siddiq didn’t lose a game in a win at third singles. North’s team of Leah Marceau and Tara Nair won 6-2, 6-1 at second doubles. Mansfield’s first doubles team of Tessa Garufi and Hannah Podolske won 5-7, 6-4, 10-7 for the Hornets.

Lens Esquil notched 11 kills and four blocks, Collin Hunter added five kills and four blocks, Malik Charles chipped in with four kills and a pair of blocks, and Alex Tavares notched four kills and a block. Freshman Tyler Stewart recorded his first two career kills in the win.

Franklin, 9 @ Attleboro, 7 – FinalFranklin’s Even Wendell made a spectacular catch to end the game with the tying run at the plate as the Panthers picked up a win on the road. Wendell (1-for-3, RBI) well full extension in the right-center gap to make the catch and secure the win. Bryan Woelfel earned the win on the mound, scattering eight hits over five innings of work, striking out three. Scott Elliott (2-4, two triples, two runs, two RBI), Alex Haba (2-for-3, triple, run, RBI), Jake Macchi (RBI), Colby Fitzgibbons (2-for-3, two runs) and Jake Noviello (3-for-4, two-run home run) all had strong days offensive for Franklin. Alvaro Espinel (2-4, double, run), Rob Furtado (3-for-4, run), Jon Candiales (2-for-4, triple) and Corey McKenna (2-for-3, run, two RBI) all had multiple hits for Attleboro.

Taunton, 4 @ Oliver Ames, 7 – FinalMatt McCormack struck out six and allowed two hits and two runs over five innings of relief to pick up the win for OA. He also went 2-for-3 at the plate with an RBI and a run scored. Mike Friel also went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBI, while Chris Pearsons and C.J. Deveau each had a pair of hits and an RBI.

Softball
Attleboro, 3 @ Franklin, 1 – FinalJenna Gittle struck out four and pitched a complete game to pick up the win for the Bombardiers, scattering seven hits. Jackie Cherry had a no-hitter through four innings for Franklin but that was broken up by a MacKenzie Bergdoll (2-for-4) two-out double that brought in Kayla Battisti and Jordyn Lako to put Attleboro ahead 2-1. Gittle brought in Autumn O’Connell with a sac fly in the sixth for an important insurance run. Attleboro coach Mark Homer said both teams “played tight defense” throughout the game. Franklin’s Tara Hartnett knocked in Anna Balkus (2-for-4) in the third for the Panthers’ run.

Oliver Ames, 1 @ King Philip, 17 – Final (5 Inn.)Faith Turnese allowed four hits and just one run in five innings of work for the Warriors, who had 12 hits as a team. Sydney Phillips led the way offensively with three hits, including a double, while Jess Bonner and Elise Pereira each had a pair of hits. One of the hits for Pereira was a grand slam. Lexie Campbell was 2-3 scoring the only run for the Tigers. Caroline Mahoney was 1-2 with an RBI and Katie Mills was 1-2.

North Attleboro, 7 @ Hopkinton, 11 – FinalNorth Attleboro dropped a close game on the road against a good Hopkinton team. Andy DeMattio and Damien Curtis each scored a pair of goals, Tommy Lindstrom had three assists and Jason McNeany (12-for-18 at the face off X) added a goal and an assist. McNeany also added 10 ground balls while Max Fontes had eight for the Rocketeers. Jake McNeany made 15 saves in net for Big Red.

King Philip, 4 @ Oliver Ames, 1 – FinalKing Philip took all three singles matches in straight sets to earn a win on the road at Oliver Ames. Erin Regnier won 6-0, 6-1 at first singles, Meghan Sepich notched a 6-1, 6-2 victory at second singles, and Caitlin Gonser recorded a 6-4, 6-1 win at third singles. King Philip’s Hannah Putney and Lucy Barnard emerged in three sets (6-3, 5-7, 6-3) to earn the fourth point for the Warriors. Bryn Anderson set a new personal record in the mile, finishing first in a time of 5:36.9, which was seven seconds faster than her previous best. Alicia Hottleman also set a PR in the 400 and recorded her first win in the event with a time of 66.2. Sophomore Lily Goulding won the javelin and her classmate Julia Miller beat her PR by four seconds to win the 800.

Ricardo DaFonseca led the way for Taunton with 50 assists, four blocks, and a block on the final point that sealed the win. Lens Esquil had 14 kills and seven blocks, Lance Law had 15 kills and Malik Charles had eight kills for the Tigers, while Alex Tavares and Collin Hunter each contributed five kills and two blocks apiece in the win.
