North Attleboro, 9 @ Attleboro, 1 – FinalA seven-run second inning plus a masterful performance on the mound from senior David Floyd led the Rocketeers to a rivalry win over Attleboro. Floyd tossed a complete game one-hitter, striking out seven for the win. He had a no-hitter through 5.2 innings. Offensively, Christian Bates (three RBI) had a two-run double and Danny Curran (two hits) added a two-run single in North’s big second inning. Tyler Bannon also had two hits for North, including a double.

Canton, 3 @ Milford, 5 – FinalSophomore Sean McGee had a pair of hits while junior Evan Cornelius and sophomore Anthony LaPierre got it done on the mound as Milford upended Canton. McGee had an RBI and scored a run to pace the Hawks’ offense. Cornelius scattered five hits and three walks in five innings of work, striking out six with two earned runs allowed. LaPierre allowed just one run over the final two innings, striking out three.

Foxboro @ Mansfield – Postponed to TBD.

Oliver Ames, 4 @ Franklin, 10 – FinalFranklin set the tone early with three runs in the bottom of the first and then tacked on four more in the second to secure a win over visiting Oliver Ames. Franklin took advantage of an error and a walk to get RBI singles from Chris Goode (3-for-3, three RBI), Jace Lyons (3-for-3, two RBI), and Ben Jarosz to seize a 3-0 lead. Jack Muir had a hit and a run scored to help OA (seven errors) cut the deficit to one run but Franklin came right back with four runs, all with two outs, to break it open. Goode knocked in Luke Sidwell and Ryan Gerety (two hits, two runs), and a drop third strike allowed Goode and Evan Raider to score to make it 7-2. Sophomore Austin Campbell earned the win in relief, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks in three innings of work. Ethan Voellmicke tossed two scoreless innings in relief, striking out three with one hit allowed.

Softball
North Attleboro, 0 @ Attleboro, 2 – FinalClick here for a Photo Gallery from this game. Lily Routhier threw a four-hit shutout, struck out six, and scored both runs to lead Attleboro to a win over rival North Attleboro. Kelly Colleran struck out 13 batters in the loss, including striking out the side in three separate innings. She also had one of North’s three hits, an infield single in the first inning. Attleboro broke the deadlock in the bottom of the fourth. Routhier led off the inning by beating out a single on a slow roller to short and then took second when a pitch got to the backstop. Lauren Eby then ripped a single to center, bringing in Routhier with what turned out to be the game-winning run. With two outs in the fifth, Julia Forman lined a single to right and stole second but Routhier got a strikeout to end the inning. Lindsey Perry got to third in the bottom half of the fifth, but Colleran got a groundout to Shaelyn Burns at third to end the threat. North had the heart of the order due up in the sixth. Ally Levine drew a lead-off walk, but Colleran hit a deep fly to center for the first out. Levine tried to steal second, but Attleboro catcher Destani Miranda threw a strike to get her for the second out. Zoe McDonough followed with a ground-rule double to left but a groundout ended the rally. Routhier started the bottom of the sixth with a line drive single to right and Eby followed with one of her own. After Routhier moved to third, Sarah Maher placed a perfect bunt between Colleran and Burns for an infield single and a crucial insurance run. Perry came up with a big diving grab on a liner to start the seventh and prevent a North rally.

Milford, 7 @ Canton, 1 – FinalHighlighted by a pair of home runs, Milford exploded for six runs in the fourth inning to get a win on the road at Canton. Freshman Cae Pellegrini (two hits) smacked her first career home run and freshman Jianna Fernandes (two hits, two runs) launched a two-run home run, the first of her career. Sophomore Camille Bonina (two hits) cleared the bases with a single to right in the same inning to push the lead to 6-0. Senior Gianna Cacciola added two hits for the Scarlet Hawks. Sophomore Maeve Driscoll went 2-for-4 at the plate with a double and a stolen base and also pitched four innings, striking out five with four hits allowed. Senior Olivia Morelli didn’t allow an earned run in three innings of work, striking out two.

Mansfield @ Foxboro – Postponed to TBD.

Oliver Ames, 3 @ Franklin, 8 – FinalOliver Ames scored three runs in the bottom of the first to take a 3-1 lead but Franklin scored once in each the second and fourth to tie it, and then scored five runs over the fifth and six innings to get the win. Lexi Galsband brought in OA’s first run with a squeeze bunt and Katie Melendy and Katherine Farley followed with an RBI each to make it 3-1. Dana Stott had an RBI single to cut the deficit in half and and Aislinn Lavery brought in the tying run to make it 3-3. In the top of the fifth, Reece Allen smacked an RBI double and Kiera Kotwicki drove in a second run to put the Panthers ahead 5-3. In the top of the sixth, the Panthers pushed across three runs to extend the lead to 8-3. Kotwicki got the win in the circle, scattering four hits in four innings of work while Lavery tossed three scoreless innings in relief, striking out two without allowing a hit. Freshman Emily Martin had two hits and a run scored for the Tigers.

Taunton, 29 @ Sharon, 0 – Final (5 inn.)Taunton hit four home runs as a team to bounce back from its first loss in three years. Brooke Aldrich led the way for the Tigers with five hits, a homer, four runs scored, and a pair of RBI. Hayley Krockta had four hits, four runs scored, and three RBI. Ava Venturelli was 2-for-2 with a triple, a homer, three RBI, and three runs scored, while Kaysie Demoura had three hits, a homer, five RBI, and four runs. Lead-off hitter Angie Lynch got on base three times, had three RBI, and three runs. Kylie Thorpe had three hits, Katelyn Bizarro had two hits, including a homer, and Kyleah Plumb had a pair of hits.




Girls Lacrosse
Sharon, 7 vs. Norwood, 17 – FinalAnna Hertzel had a hat trick and an assist to lead the Eagles attack. Keira Ledyard had two goals, while Athena Merck and Bailey Garte each scored once. Tess Letendre played well in goal, making 12 saves.

Boys Tennis
Attleboro, 1 @ North Attleboro, 4 – FinalNorth Attleboro swept all three singles matches and tacked on another win from doubles action to take down rival Attleboro. Senior Will Folan earned a 6-2, 6-3 win at first singles, junior Brody Carter grabbed a 6-0, 6-0 win at second singles, and freshman Darren Liang emerged with a 6-1, 6-0 win at third singles. North Attleboro added its fourth point via the team of sophomore Caleb Cheney and senior Aashman Gupta, who battled to a 6-1, 7-6 (10-8) win at second doubles. Attleboro’s first doubles team of Tyler Rocchio and Kyle Neuendorf grabbed another win, this time 7-5, 6-1.

Milford, 0 @ Canton, 5 – FinalFreshman Justin Ngan earned the first victory of his career, highlighting Canton’s 5-0 sweep over visiting Milford. Ngan picked up the win at third singles in a well-played match against Milford freshman Cory Rattray. Canton’s Austin Lee and Jad Antoun also grabbed their first win, taking the victory at second doubles.

Mansfield, 4 @ Foxboro, 1 – Final Mansfield’s strong singles play continued on Friday, this time getting a sweep of Foxboro plus another victory from doubles action to get the 4-1 win. Freshman Neema Khosravani won a hard-fought match at first singles (6-3, 6-4), junior Benson Delany moved into singles play and secured a 6-1, 6-2 win at second singles, and Nikhil Nain grabbed a 6-0, 6-1 win at third singles. Mansfield also got a win from the doubles team of Lura Meyer and Nathan Cote (6-1, 6-2). Foxboro’s Josh Weiner and Jacob Weiner grabbed a 6-3, 6-4 win at first doubles.

Franklin, 4 @ Oliver Ames, 1 – FinalFranklin won a pair of singles matches and a pair of doubles matches, all in straight sets, to get a win on the road in Easton. Senior Vayshnav Malhotra didn’t drop a set in a 6-0, 6-0 first singles victory while senior Thomas Broyles was victorious 6-3, 6-2 at second singles for the Panthers. Sameen Shaik and Tyler Fitzpatrick earned a clean 6-0, 6-0 win at first doubles, and the Panthers got a 6-2, 6-1 win from the second doubles tandem of senior Tim O’Keefe and sophomore Jay Gorgas. Oliver Ames senior Raphael Vache prevailed in a marathon third singles match, 6-1, 1-6, 7-6 (1).

North Attleboro, 3 @ Attleboro, 2 – FinalA singles sweep proved to be enough for North Attleboro in a close battle with rival Attleboro. Sophomore Lauren Hunt grabbed a 6-3, 6-1 win at first singles, junior Grace Noreck secured a 6-4, 6-1 win at second singles, and senior Krithika Mood completed the singles sweep with a 6-4, 6-4 victory. Attleboro’s first doubles team of seniors Tina Lam and Saharla Yusuf won 6-2, 6-2, and the tandem of sophomores Kyra Johnson and Presley Biller emerged with a 6-3, 6-4 decision.

Canton, 5 @ Milford, 0 – FinalCanton’s Laura Correal won a third set tiebreaker at third singles to help the Bulldogs complete a 5-0 sweep on the road at Milford. Correal took a 6-3, 3-6, 10-7 win, Camila Cutter secured a 6-3, 6-0 win at first singles, and Kelli Woodworth was victorious, 6-3, 6-0, at third singles. The team of Olivia Durham and Grace Powers earned a 6-3, 6-2 win at first doubles, while the Canton second doubles tandem of Olivia Maloney and Allie Wong grabbed a 6-2, 6-1 win.

Foxboro, 4 @ Mansfield, 1 – FinalFoxboro won all three singles matches in straight sets, and took another point with a third set tiebreaker in doubles play to take down Mansfield. Athena Li continued to roll with a 6-0, 6-0 win, Hailey Kornbluth secured a 6-0, 6-1 win at second singles, and Makayla Peck completed the singles sweep with a 6-0, 7-5 third singles victory. Abby Costa and Juliana Preston added a 6-3, 6-0 victory at first doubles for the Warriors. The team of Jillian Hanley and Savannah Carey rallied for a 5-7, 6-3, 10-7 win at second doubles for the Hornets.

Oliver Ames, 1 @ Franklin, 4 – FinalAnchored by a sweep of singles action, Franklin defended home court to knock off the visiting Tigers of Oliver Ames. Vedika Vinayak prevailed with a 6-4, 6-2 win at first singles, Izzy Trull added a 6-0, 6-2 win at second singles, and Sarah Schiavo won 6-2, 6-2 at third singles for the Panthers. The team of Chloe Essam and Sydney Tolonen added another win for Franklin, taking the second doubles match by a score of 6-1, 6-2. Oliver Ames’ first doubles tandem of Morgan Vasiliou and Caroline Peper notched a 6-1, 6-1 win.

Sharon, 5 @ Taunton, 0 – FinalSharon went on the road and won all five matches in straight sets to bounce back from a close loss on Thursday. Navya Shukla secured a 6-3, 6-1 win at first singles, Judy Song earned a 6-1, 6-1 victory at second singles, and Abby Vilk grabbed a 6-0, 6-1 win at third singles. Sharon swept both doubles matches with Olivia Landstein and Alice Zaniewski taking first doubles, 6-3, 6-2.

Baseball
Attleboro, 0 @ Franklin, 10 – Final (5 Inn.)Click here for a Photo Gallery from this game. Alfred Mucciarone gave up one hit over four innings and Ethan Voellemicke struck out the side in the fifth, as Franklin shut out Attleboro for its second win in as many days. Chris Goode and Evan Raider each drove in a pair of runs for the Panthers. Attleboro’s best chance came in the first Nate George drew a leadoff walk and two batters later Danny Johnson hit a sinking liner to right, but Eisig Chin made a stellar diving catch. Franklin took control in the bottom half with four runs. Ryan Gerety led off with a single and Jack Marino was hit by a pitch. Attleboro failed to handle a pair of bunts and both runners came in to score. Chin drove in a run with a single and would eventually come around to score on a wild pitch. Franklin added three more in the second. One-out walks to Joe Tirrell and Gerety and an infield single for Marino loaded the bases. Goode plated one with a sac fly and Raider followed with a single to bring in two. In the third, Franklin took advantage of a couple errors to add three more runs. Ben Jarosz singled and would score on a wild pitch, Henry DiGiorgio reached on a fielder’s choice and scored on an error, and Tirrell walked and came in to score on a sac fly from Goode. Hayden Hagerty broke up Mucciarone’s no-hitter to start the fourth but Franklin’s starter retired the next three hitters to strand the runner in scoring position.

Canton, 5 @ Oliver Ames, 4 – FinalChloe Guerschuny drove in three runs, including the game-winner in the top of the seventh to help the Bulldogs complete a comeback win. OA scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the third, including an RBI single from Katie Melendy, and two more in the bottom of the fourth on a solo home run from Katherine Farley and an RBI single from Caitlin Miller. Canton responded with three runs in the top of the fifth, including a two-run base hit from Guerschuny.

Franklin, 5 @ Attleboro, 2 – FinalFranklin scored once in each of the first three innings and tacked on two key insurance runs in the top of the sixth to get the win on the road over Attleboro. Julia White had a one-out single in the top of the first and came around to score after a fielder’s choice and an error to put the Panthers ahead 1-0 but Attleboro answered with a run of its own to make it 1-1. Junior Hailey Fales had a one-out single in the top of the season, and courtesy runner Kelly Moussa scored after White grounded out to second with the bases loaded for a 2-1 lead. Georgia Harvey turned a leadoff single in the top of the third into a run to make it 3-1 before Attleboro made it a one-run game with sac fly in the bottom half. Reece Allen and Moussa came around to score in the top of the fifth for insurance. Aislinn Lavery got the win for Franklin, allowing two runs (one earned) with six strikeouts and no walks. Lindsey Perry was strong in the circle for Attleboro in a complete game effort, with just earned runs allowed with two strikeouts and two walks.

Foxboro, 13 @ Stoughton, 14 – FinalA back-and-forth offensive slugfest ended with Stoughton jumping ahead in the bottom of the six and then getting a scoreless top of the seventh to get the win. Sydney Menz led the Black Knights’ offense with a pair of home runs, including a two-run bomb in the sixth that plated the tying and go-ahead runs for Stoughton, plus a triple and four RBI total. Melody Casna added a double and two RBI while Leila Alaoui and Camryn Whitman each had a pair of hits, and Kerry Driscoll and Kate Bulger each had an RBI double. Driscoll got the win in the circle while Casna, Menz, and Maddie Hinds all turned in solid defensive performances for the Black Knights.

Vayshnav Malhotra and Thomas Broyles both won 6-0, 6-0 at first and second singles, respectively, while Drew Mahoney earned a 6-1, 6-1 win at third singles. The team of Tim O’Keefe and Ahan Shetty battled for a 7-5, 6-4 win at first doubles while Sameen Shaik and Jay Gorgas took a 6-0, 6-2 decision at second doubles.

Milford, 0 @ Mansfield, 5 – FinalIt was a clean sweep for Mansfield, taking all five matches in straight sets. Neema Khosravani, Kailash Elumelai, Iniyan Karruppusami were the Hornets’ three victorious singles players, freshman Josh Weiner and sophomore Jacob Weiner won at first doubles, and sophomores Sirius Li and Nikhil Nain won at second doubles.

Canton, 3 @ Oliver Ames, 2 – FinalCanton’s second doubles team of Kevin Moltenbrey and Max LaRose emerged victorious in a three-set thriller to clinch the win for the Bulldogs. Moltenbrey and LaRose split the first two sets before getting the win 6-3, 2-6, 6-3. The Bulldogs also got wins at first singles from Max Kupferman and at second singles from Suraj Ramanathan. OA senior Raphael Vache earned a 6-2, 6-3 win at third singles while the first doubles team of freshmen Alex Efremidas and Patrick Dolan grabbed a 6-3, 6-4 win.

Taunton, 1 @ King Philip, 4 – FinalKing Philip swept doubles action and got another pair of wins from singles play to defend home court against Taunton. The first doubles team of Diego Nieto and Noah Ihley rallied from a one-set deficit to win 4-6, 6-1, 7-5 while the tandem of Leo Manning and Arjun Kollu secured a 6-1, 6-1 win at second doubles for KP. Jonathan Cohen added a 6-2, 6-2 win at second singles and Jackson Hom didn’t drop a set in a 6-0, 6-0 third singles victory. Taunton’s Michael Kimmer won 6-3, 6-1 at first singles.

Foxboro, 3 @ Stoughton, 2 – FinalA singles sweep propelled Foxboro to a second straight win to open the season, this time on the road at Stoughton. Garrett Spillane battled to a 7-6, 6-0 win at first singles, Bo Canfield fought for a 7-5, 6-2 win at second singles and Raj Jetty had a strong showing in a 6-1, 6-0 win at third singles. Jake Berry and Joe Mark won 6-2, 7-6 at first doubles for the Black Knights while Stoughton’s second doubles team of Paul Medeiros and Aadil Khond grabbed a 6-3, 6-1 win.

Attleboro, 2 @ Franklin, 3 – FinalFor the second straight match, Franklin swept both doubles matches and had a third win from third singles to get the win. Amulya Jayam and Shriya Rasish battled to a 6-3, 7-6 (3) win at first doubles, and Franklin’s second doubles team of Chloe Essam and Sydney Tolonen secured a 6-4, 6-1 win. Sarah Schiavo earned his second win of the season, taking a 6-4, 6-4 decision at third singles for the Panthers. Attleboro’s Ella Lynch-Bartek won 6-1, 6-0 at first singles while sophomore Maddie Fuscaldo prevailed with a 3-6, 6-2, 6-3 win at second singles.

Mansfield, 4 @ Milford, 1 – FinalThe Hornets got a pair of wins in both singles and doubles action to record a win on the road over Milford. Kate Martin won her first singles match 6-1, 6-3 while Aadi Semeer earned a 7-5, 6-3 win at second singles. Mansfield’s first doubles team of Alexis Joyce and Clair Copp battled to a 6-3, 6-0 win while Jillian Hanley and Savannah Carey notched a 6-2, 6-2 second doubles win. Milford junior Serena Borges prevailed from third singles with a 6-0, 7-5 win.

King Philip, 5 @ Taunton, 0 – FinalBoth doubles matches went to a third set before King Philip swept its way to a win over Taunton. The team of Lauren Casper and Resha Ajoy prevailed 5-7, 6-4, 6-4 at first doubles while Caroline Freese and Carly Burns rallied for a 4-6, 6-3, 7-6 (9-7) win at second doubles for KP. Ahunna James and Shea Mellman each lost just one set in identical 6-0, 6-1 wins at first and second singles, respectively, and Sammie Taylor added a 7-5, 6-1 win at third singles for the Warriors.

Stoughton, 0 @ Foxboro, 5 – FinalFoxboro defended home court with a five match sweet of visiting Stoughton, taking all five in straight sets. Athena Li didn’t drop a set in a 6-0, 6-0 win at first singles, Hailey Kornbluth secured a 6-1, 6-1 win at third singles and Makayla Peck earned a 6-2, 6-0 win at third singles. The team of Abigail Costa and Juliana Preston lost just one set on their way to a 6-0, 6-1 first doubles win, and Foxboro’s second doubles team of Emily Stow and Sydney Lebow emerged with a 6-4, 6-3 win.

Stoughton, 97 @ Canton, 39 – FinalKyle Downing won a pair of events and Canton won the 4×100 relay, but Stoughton secured the win on the road to open the season. Downing won both the 1 Mile (11:12.1) and the 2 Mile (5:13.1) for the Bulldogs, and the team of Youssef Kosta, Christian Hanlon, Andres Castro Alvarez, and Favor Ugah took first in the 4×100 in 48.5. Other winners for Canton were Sean Sullivan (discus) and Graham Stemm (javelin).

Franklin, 50 @ Mansfield, 77 – FinalAnchored by double-winners Dana Johnson, Dylan Buchanan, and Charles Newcomb, Mansfield opened the season with a win over Franklin. Johnson won both the long jump (19’7.5”) and the triple jump (41’3”), and added second place finish in the 110M hurdles (16.5). Buchanan won the 110M hurdles in 15.5 and won the javelin with a toss of 112’8, and Newcomb won both the shot put (40’6) and the discus (89’0). Other winners for Mansfield included Evan Rawlings (400M hurdles, 58.3), Myles Brown (100M, 11.4), Chris Leonard (1 Mile, 4:49.9), and Chamberlain Guthrie Jr. (200M, 24.4).

Girls Outdoor Track
Taunton, 50 @ Attleboro, 84 – FinalAttleboro swept four events on its way to a season-opening win over visiting Taunton. Rebecca Rainey and Jahela Douglas each won a pair of events, with Rainey taking first in the 400M hurdles (1:18.8) and the high jump (4-6), as well as a third place finish in the 200M (29.1). Douglas was the winner in the 100M (13.2) and the triple jump (31-5.5) and added a second place leap of 14-10 in the long jump. Other winners for Attleboro included Emilia Smith (1 Mile, 5:48.0), Elayna Marinelli (javelin, 98-1), Diana McArthur (discus, 72-2) and the 4×100 team of Jadyn Hoyt, Mabel Sandoval, Erimar Torres, and Kylee Browning.

Stoughton, 80 @ Canton, 56 – FinalCanton’s Kylie Hanlon added her name to the school record book but the Bulldogs fell at home to Stoughton. Hanlon tied the school record in the 100M, taking first in 12.4. Kiara Cerruti won the 1 Mile and was second in the 800M, and the team of Gabby Herivaux, Talya DeGraw, Katie Oliver, Syriah McCruse was first in the 4×100 in 52.3.

Wednesday’s Schedule & Scoreboard – 02/23/22

Boys Basketball
Attleboro, 43 @ North Attleboro, 40 – FinalIn a rivalry game between the Blue Bombardiers and Red Rocketeers, it was the former that held on for a close win. Attleboro led by five at half, and by six going into the fourth, but had to hold on as North came up short on two game-tying three-point chances. Alvin Harrison helped Attleboro get off to a good start with six of his team-high 13 points in the opening quarter, helping the Bombardiers lead after eight minutes (11-10) and at halftime (21-16). North Attleboro’s Casey Poirier scored all of his 15 points in the second half and Brody Rosenberg had five of his nine in the fourth as North pulled within a possession. Colin Morais had a pair of key threes in the third for Attleboro.

Mansfield, 61 vs. Brockton, 51 – FinalMansfield never trailed in its win over Brockton, building a double-digit halftime that it held on for the rest of the way. After outscoring the Boxers 20-12 in the first, the Hornets put up 16 points in the second to stage a 36-22 lead by halftime. After a back-and-forth third, Mansfield carried a 48-32 lead into the fourth and kept Brockton at arm’s length throughout the fourth. Matt Hyland led the Hornets with 26 points, nine assists, and a pair of steals while Chris Hill added 10 points, six rebounds, and two blocks.

Girls Basketball
North Attleboro, 30 @ Attleboro, 45 – FinalThe Bombardiers had a rough shooting night but managed to go on a run starting midway through the third quarter to pull out a win in the final regular season game at the Attleboro High gym. Meghan Gordon scored 10 of her game-high 16 points in the second half, helping Attleboro earn the season sweep of the Rocketeers. Attleboro led 11-4 after one, with Gordon and Kayla Goldrick each scoring four points, but North battled back in the second. Summer Doherty scored five in the second and Sam Sweeney hit a three as the Rocketeers cut the lead to just one heading to halftime. The visitors scored the first four points of the third quarter and Attleboro continued to struggle offensively. Midway through the third, after a timeout wakeup from head coach Bri Bracken, the Bombardiers turned things around, closing the quarter with 12 straight points and finishing the game with a 26-8 run. Gordon had eight in the third. Lindsey Perry added six points in the fourth and Goldrick added four more to help pull away. Gordon had 13 rebounds and four blocks to go with her 16 points. Perry finished with 12 points and Goldrick had 10 points, 10 rebounds, and three assists. Vanessa Ellis added five points and nine boards. Doherty was North’s top scorer with 14 points and Sam Sweeney had five. Taylor McMath pulled down nine rebounds in the loss.

Oliver Ames, 2 @ Westwood, 6 – FinalSophomores Andrew Livingstone and Jack Corey each had a goal and an assist but the Tigers fell in the regular season finale to Westwood. Corey set up Livingstone for his goal, and Livingstone returned the favor, along with an assist from Matt Lawson. Sophomore Nolan Gemetti had 22 saves in net for the Tigers.

Stoughton, 5 vs. Bellingham, 1 – FinalFor the first time in 16 years, the Black Knights are headed to the postseason. Stoughton secured its spot in the playoffs with a 5-1 win over Bellingham, finishing the season at 10-10-2. Cooper Card, Ryan Summers, Joe McNulty, Sean Farley and Ben Shirey each scored once for Stoughton/Brockton.

Girls Hockey
Mansfield/Oliver Ames, 2 vs. Whitman-Hanson, 3 – Final (OT)MOA skated even with Whitman-Hanson for three periods but the Panthers prevailed with a goal in the overtime period. Cammy Shanteler (from Maeve Anastasia and Julia Muttart) and Mya Waryas (from Anastasia and Ava Adams) scored for the Warriors while Jess Widdop had a strong game between the pipes. Head coach Jamie Mullen highlighted the efforts of her penalty kill in Waryas, Anastasia, Shanteler, Muttart, Kylie O’Keefe, Madison Guilfoyle, Macy Quinn, and Madeline Martin.

Attleboro, 67 vs. Durfee, 42 – FinalAfter falling behind in the first quarter, Attleboro dominated the final three quarters to earn a season sweep of Durfee. Playing shorthanded without leading scorer Evan Houle, the Bombardiers got a huge boost from junior Jaiden Outland, who hit four three pointers and finished with career-high 18 points to pace the Attleboro offense. Durfee held a 18-14 lead after eight minutes but Attleboro came storming back in a 22-point second quarter with Outland netting eight point, Jake Struminski adding six of his eight points, and Colin Morais chipping in with five of his 15 points. The Bombardiers won the second quarter 22-5, taking a 36-23 lead into the locker room.

Canton, 66 vs. Fenway, 49 – FinalHolding a six point lead at the break, Canton used a 19-point third quarter to stretch the lead and eventually finish off Fenway for the second time in as many days. The Bulldogs got scoring contributions from six players in the big third quarter with senior Lanse Dorcelus scoring six of his team-high 16 points, senior Nate Mei adding five of his 13 points, and Matt Chafin (11 points), Dillon Nguyen, Conor Hunter, and Bahsor Mahn (eight points) all scored in the quarter as Canton turned its halftime lead (32-26) in a 51-36 advantage going into the fourth. Jacob Solomon added a trio of threes and finished with nine points.

Foxboro, 58 vs. Medfield, 54 – FinalTied at halftime, Foxboro pulled ahead for good with a big third quarter to land a key win over Division 2 foe Medfield. Foxboro had a 20-15 lead after a quarter but the teams went into the locker room at halftime deadlocked, 30-30. Five different Foxboro players scored in the third and the Warriors had their best defensive frame of the game, winning the third 17-9. Alex Penders had five of his 14 points, Andrew Finn and Cam Barreira each sank a three, Sam Golub (nine points) added a basket, and Dylan Gordon had four of his team-high 22 points to help Foxboro pull away.

Franklin, 43 vs. Leominster, 30 – FinalAnchored by one of its best defensive efforts of the season, Franklin landed an impressive win over one of the two ranked teams in Division 2. Junior Ben Harvey had a fantastic showing on the defensive end, holding one of Central Mass’ best players Justin Dadah Jr. to just one three-pointer in the fourth quarter. The Panthers used a 16-0 run across the first and second quarters to create separation. Sophomore Sean O’Leary scored eight of his 11 points in the opening half while Harvey got it going on the offensive end with six points in the second. Geino Scaringello gave the Franklin offense a big boost in the second half with all of his nine points coming over the final two frames.

King Philip, 68 vs. Falmouth, 36 – FinalKing Philip poured in 26 points in the third quarter to run away with a big win over Falmouth in the first round of the Somerset-Berkley tournament. The Warriors built a 27-16 lead at halftime, getting a trio of three-pointers from Grant Kinney in the first half and one apiece from Braeden Sottile (10 points) and freshman Tommy Kilroy. Junior Will Laplante took over in the third, hitting three more threes and went on to finish with 16 of his team-high 24 points after the halftime break. Charlie Grant and Sottile also hit threes in the third quarter for KP, who had 12 makes from three-point range.

Mansfield, 56 vs. Westford Academy, 41 – FinalClick here for a Photo Gallery from this game. Mansfield struggled in the opening quarter against Westford’s zone, but the Hornets turned things around in the second quarter to send the teams into the locker room tied. In the second half, Mansfield locked down defensively, allowing only one point in the third and 12 points in the half, to pull out a win against a team ranked in the top 10 in Div. 1 and advance to the final of the Roundball Classic. Matt Hyland led all scorers with 16, 10 in the second half, and added nine rebounds, five assists, and four steals. Chris Hill added 13, including seven in the second to help the Hornets even up the game and 4-for-4 from the line in the fourth quarter. Andrew Slaney nailed four threes, including two in the first to keep Mansfield close, and finished with 12 points. Mansfield hit eight from beyond the arc as a team and will face the winner of Whitman-Hanson and Brockton in Wednesday’s final.

Milford, 46 vs. Shrewsbury, 57 – Final

Sharon, 59 vs. Walpole, 71 – FinalSharon trailed by just three at halftime but Walpole exploded for 27 points in the third quarter to run away with the win in the championship game of the Davenport Classic. Sophomore Nate Katznelson dropped a career-high 27 points for the Eagles, but Walpole’s balanced attack — five players scored in the third — and successful three-point shooting in the third (five makes) ended up the difference.

Stoughton, 59 vs. Milton, 38 – FinalAfter a back-and-forth first quarter, Stoughton dominated the middle quarters to build a double digit lead that never relinquished the rest of the way. Junior Rayan Sablon hit four three-pointers in the first half and finished with 22 of his career-high 31 points to help the Black Knights get the win. Connor Andrews added nine of his 17 points in the opening half as Stoughton built a 34-19 lead at halftime and had a 46-25 lead going into the fourth.

Taunton, 77 @ New Bedford, 42 – FinalTaunton senior Trent Santos scored his 1,000th career point as the Tigers rolled to a big win to finish the regular season. Santos finished with 29 points in the win and hit the milestone with — fittingly — a pull up three in transition in the fourth quarter. Santos had five threes in the game and 10 total makes. Chris Volcy came off the bench and scored half of his 12 points in Taunton’s 25-point second quarter, turning a close game into a blowout by halftime (43-21). Faisal Mass added eight points for Taunton, which had nine players get in the scoring column.










Girls Basketball
Attleboro, 61 @ Durfee, 30 – FinalThe Bombardiers held Durfee to 12 points in the first half, building a 32-12 lead through two quarters and never looking back to record a fifth straight win. Meghan Gordon scored 12 of her 16 points and Lindsey Perry scored all seven of her points in the first half to get Attleboro off to a great start. Vanessa Ellis scored 13 points (eight in the second half) and Rylie Camacho buried four three-pointers and finished with 12. Avery Vieira scored six of her eight points in the fourth.

Foxboro, 61 vs. Cambridge, 30 – FinalKailey Sullivan scored 23 points, knocking down five three-pointers, as the Warriors rolled to a big win in the opening round of the Warrior Classic. Nine players scored for Foxboro, which will face Walpole on Tuesday night in the final.

Mansfield, 54 vs. Westford Academy, 55 – FinalClick here for a Photo Gallery from this game. Abigail Chambers hit a three from six feet behind the arc with only 4.5 on the clock and Westford pulled out a come from behind win in the first round of the Roundball Classic. The Hornets had led 54-48 in the closing minutes, but Westford closed the game on a 7-0 run. Abby Wager scored a team-high 22 points, including 10 in the fourth quarter, to pace the Hornets. She added six rebounds and four steals. Kara Santos chipped in with nine points (five in the fourth) and Bridget Hanley added nine points, five assist, and two blocks. Natlya Gill came off the bench and scored seven points. Mansfield will face Natick on Wednesday afternoon in the consolation round of the tournament.

Taunton, 52 vs. New Bedford, 59 – FinalTaunton and New Bedford had a shootout in the second half, as the teams combined for 68 points, but the Tigers weren’t able to pull off a comeback in the season finale and the Whalers earned a split of the season series. Kameron St. Pierre had a team-high 17 points for the Tigers, all of them in the second half, and knocked down three from beyond the arc. Liv Gannon scored nine, all in the first half, and Cali Melo and Abby Souza each scored eight points for the Tigers.

Canton, 46 @ Westwood, 40 – FinalThe Bulldogs closed out the regular season by winning the title at the Riley Classic and beating one of the teams ahead of them in the Div. 2 power rankings. Fay Gallery scored 17 points, dished our four assists, and had three steals to lead the way for Canton. Kiara Cerruti added 16 points and three steals and Sydney Gallery had seven points, five boards, and three assists. Canton also got a lot of help on the glass, with Han Hong and Erin Beatty each pulling down six rebounds and Samya DaSilva grabbing five boards. Marissa Staffiere made a pair of clutch free throws at the end to help seal the win. Fay Gallery was named tournament MVP and Cerruti was named to the all-tournament team.

King Philip, 49 vs. Archbishop Williams, 28 – FinalKP jumped out to a 16-2 lead after one quarter and extended that lead to 34-6 at halftime, running away with a big win in the consolation round of the end-of-season tournament. The Warriors had 48 points through three quarters. All 14 players saw time on the court and 11 ended up on the score sheet. Liv Lafond led the Warriors with 10 points, while Emily Sawyer had eight and Kylie Watson and Julia Marsden each scored seven points in the win. Olivia Ali knocked down a three-pointer for her first career varsity points.

Joe McNulty had the goal for the Black Knights, Steven Westerlund had a strong game defensively, and Chris Andrade played well in net with 29 saves.

Mansfield/Oliver Ames, 4 vs. Dedham, 0 – FinalMOA freshman Emma Rabinovich sparked the offense with her first career goal less than a minute into the game and the Warriors never looked back, skating to a shutout win over Dedham. Rabinovich lit the lamp 30 seconds into the game and then Kylie O’Keefe doubled the lead with a minute left in the period to make it 2-0. Cammy Shanteler (from O’Keefe) and Cataline Kipp each added a goal for the Warriors. Jess Widdop made 35 saves in net to earn the shutout for MOA.

Attleboro, 57 @ Mansfield, 64 – FinalPropelled by a strong first quarter (21 points) and a pivotal third quarter (18-4), Mansfield held off a strong fourth quarter from Attleboro to finish league play with a win. Matt Hyland got the Hornets off to a strong start with half of his team-high 16 points in the opening eight minutes and five other Mansfield players got into the scoring column, including threes from Andrew Slaney (12 points) and Chris Hill (12 points) for an early 21-13 lead. Colin Morais (17 points), Jaiden Outland, Neo Franco, and Jake Struminski each hit a three in the second but Dante James had one for Mansfield and Anthony Sacchetti had six points to help the Hornets ahead at the break (39-30). Hyland had another eight points in the third and Slaney added a pair of triples while the Hornets held the Bombardiers to just four points to break the game wide open, taking a 57-34 lead into the fourth. Attleboro made a late push with Morais, Outland, and Franco hitting fourth quarter threes to get the deficit down to single digits.

Foxboro, 51 @ Canton, 47 – FinalCanton continually cut into Foxboro’s lead throughout the game, eventually pulling even with the Warriors but it was senior Dylan Gordon who converted the go-ahead layup and then sank a pair of free throws in the final seconds to ice the win. Junior Alex Penders (12 points), Ryan LeClair (seven points), and Sam Golub (six points) helped Foxboro build leads after the first (12-5) and second quarters (22-18). Lanse Dorcelus hit on three of his four threes in the second and both Matt Chafin and Nate Mei added one each to close the gap by halftime. Chafin and Ashton Cetoute hit from downtown in the third as the Bulldogs made it 36-36 going into the fourth. Gordon finished with 15 of his 17 points in the second half, his lone field goal of the fourth being the go-ahead bucket followed by two free throws. Cam Barreira, fresh off his best shooting performance of the season in a win at Stoughton, came through with a pair of clutch threes in the fourth.

Franklin, 75 @ King Philip, 50 – FinalFranklin’s offense roared to life in the opening half, putting up 21 points in the opening quarter and then 25 more in the second on its way to a big win over King Philip. Sophomore Andrew O’Neil hit five three-pointers, three in the first half, to spark the Panthers’ offense. O’Neill finished with a team-high 21 points while senior Sean Vinson scored all 19 of his points in the first half. King Philip cut into the deficit by winning the third quarter (16-9) with senior Braeden Sottile dropping half of his team-high 20 points in the quarter. But Franklin’s offense got back on track with 22 points in the fourth, with O’Neill adding two more threes and both Evan DaSilva and Caden Sullivan connecting from downtown.

Milford, 48 @ Taunton, 68 – FinalTaunton only led by two possessions going into the fourth quarter (49-43) but the Tigers took care of business in the final eight minutes, running away with a win to clinch the Kelley-Rex division title outright for the first team in program history. Senior Trent Santos hit four of his six three-pointers after halftime and finished with a game-high 26 points to lead the charge. Faisal Mass added 15 points in the win. Milford freshman Andrew Rivera hit a trio of threes and finished with a team-best 23 points.

North Attleboro, 46 @ Oliver Ames, 63 – FinalNorth Attleboro came out of the gates with 16 points in the first quarter and only trailed by two possessions at halftime but a switch to zone defense from Oliver Ames stalled the Rocketeers’ offense and the Tigers pulled away to finish their regular season with a win. OA held a 30-24 lead at halftime and then got a balanced scoring attack in the third to double its lead from six to 12, carrying a 44-32 lead into the fourth. Drew Baxter had four of his 10 points in the third, MJ Jean Baptiste and Zach Tagliamonte (10 points) each had three, and Dan Reily and Jake Grimaldi each chipped in with a bucket. CJ Williams finished with a team-high 11 points for OA, who had 10 players factor into the scoring. Brody Rosenberg hit a trio of threes to lead North with 13 points, Gavin Wells also had a three trifectas for 11 points and Casey Poirier scored 10 first half points for the Big Red.

Mansfield, 52 @ Attleboro, 58 – FinalLindsey Perry scored a game-high 16 points, including 12 in the second half, to help the Bombardiers pull out a win and sweep the season series against the Hornets. Mansfield scored 18 in the first, including eight from Anna Darlington, to take a five-point lead after one, but Attleboro stormed back with a 15-8 second to take a two-point lead into the locker room. Vanessa Ellis, Rylie Camacho, and Meghan Gordon combined for 13 in the quarter. Perry and Gordon combined for 13 points in the third, as the Bombardiers extended the lead to six after three, which they were able to hold onto over the final eight minutes. Perry scored six points in the fourth, including 4-of-6 from the free throw line. Gordon finished with 11 points and Ellis and Camacho each scored 10. Abby Wager led the Hornets with 15, including nine points in the third quarter alone, while Darlington finished with 10. Olivia Salisbury chipped in with eight points for the Hornets.

Canton, 44 @ Foxboro, 49 – FinalSeven Warriors were on the score sheet as they held off Canton to sweep the season series with the bulldogs. Kailey Sullivan was the top scorer for the home team with 14 point and Erin Foley added 11. Ava Hill went 6-for-6 from the line to help Foxboro seal the win.

King Philip, 24 @ Franklin, 49 – FinalKP led 10-8 after the first quarter but Franklin held the Warriors to only 14 points over the final 24 minutes to finish the league campaign unbeaten for the third straight season. The Panthers took the second quarter 11-2 and outscored KP 30-12 in the second half for their 42nd straight league win. Olivia Quinn led the way for the Panthers with 13 points, including nine in the second quarter, and went 6-for-6 from the line. Stefany Padula hit a pair of threes and scored eight points, Brigid Earley had seven, and Katie Peterson added six points for Franklin. Liv Lafond was KP’s leading scorer with eight points, Leah Santoro had six, and Emily Sawyer and Jordan Bennett each scored four points in the loss.

Taunton, 37 @ Milford, 54 – FinalWithout the league’s leading scorer, Kameron St. Pierre, Taunton struggled offensively early and the Hawks took advantage to pull out a win in their final league game of the season, splitting the seasons series. Milford jumped ahead 14-3 after the first and extended the lead to 14 by halftime. Maddalena Mannucci Pacini scored eight of her game-high 15 points in the first half for Milford. Taunton took the third quarter to slice into the Milford lead, but then the Hawks exploded for 24 points in the fourth, led by Brooke Ferreira’s nine, to seal the win. Ferreira finished with 12 and Jill Araujo added a dozen as well. Cali Melo led Taunton with 10 points and Jillian Doherty added nine, all 19 of their combined points coming in the second half. Lex Haywood chipped in with five.

Oliver Ames, 78 @ North Attleboro, 33 – FinalOA closed out the league campaign with a big road win. The Tigers jumped out to a big lead early in the game and seemed to have an answer for every defensive switch that North threw at them. Senior Caroline Peper exploded for a game-high 24 points and the Tigers got a big boost on the offense end with 12 points apiece from a trio of sophomores: Jasmyn Cooper, Sarah Hilliard, and Kaydance Derba. Summer Doherty scored 11 of her team-high 12 points for North and Maryellen Charette added nine.

Attleboro, 69 @ King Philip, 44 – FinalA fire alarm midway through the third quarter at King Philip was a sign of things for come, but for the visiting Bombardiers. After a tight, back-and-forth first half, Attleboro’s offense caught fire in the second, opening with a 14-2 run and never looking back. The Bombardiers led by just two (17-15) after a quarter, and just three (31-28) going into halftime. Six players contributed to Attleboro’s 21-point third quarter with Evan Houle (nine points) and Jake Struminski (14 points) each chipping in with five, four from Colin Morais (eight points), and three from Alvin Harrison (five points). In his first game back, sophomore Neo Franco added 11 points while senior Joe Francois-Annevil spread out his career-high 17 points for the Bombardiers, who stretched the lead to 52-35 going into the fourth. Braeden Sottile led KP with 15 points while Will Laplante added 14 points.

Canton, 67 @ Sharon, 68 – Final (OT)Sharon senior John Baez turned a steal into two points, junior Matt Baur hit a key three, and sophomore Jacob McLoughlin added two free throws down the stretch as the Eagles held off Canton to clinch at least a share of the Davenport division title. After neither team scored for the first two minutes of overtime, Baez (13 points) helped off his man and poked the ball free, going uncontested for a layup with 1:51 to play. Nate Mei (15 points) answered with a baseline jumper to tie the game again but the Eagles came back down and Baur (18 points) splashed in a corner three with the shot clock winding down. Sharon got a stop but Canton forced a turnover and Lanse Dorcelus (26 points) sank a free throw to cut the deficit to two with 29 seconds left. McLoughlin (10 points) tacked on two free throws to push it back to four. Matt Chafin (15 points) hit a three as time expired to cut it back to one. Canton sent the game into overtime with a 9-0 run in the final minutes, capped by a three from Conor Hunter with nine seconds to go to tie it 61-61. Sophomore Nate Katznelson added 10 points for the Eagles, who led 11-5 after the first quarter, 27-25 at halftime, and 48-41 going into the fourth.

Oliver Ames, 53 @ Foxboro, 55 – FinalFoxboro junior Alex Penders scored a career-high 30 points, including some key free throws in the final two minutes, to help the Warriors knock off Oliver Ames and keep their division title hopes alive. OA raced out to an 18-7 lead after a quarter of play and carried a 28-23 advantage into halftime. Senior Dylan Gordon exploded for 10 of his 14 points in the third quarter and Penders added eight as the Warriors put up 20 points to jump ahead 43-42 going into the fourth. Penders extended Foxboro’s lead with free throws to 54-51 with under a minute to go. OA’s Zach Tagliamonte (11-for-13 free throws, 25 points) battled through contact to finish down low to make it a one-point game before Foxboro added a free throw from Sam Golub. Off a miss on the second free throw with 6.5 seconds, the Warriors were able to prevent the Tigers from getting a shot off before the buzzer.

Franklin, 73 @ Milford, 53 – FinalFranklin connected on seven three pointers in the second quarter alone, blowing the game wide open in a win on the road at Milford, which was the 200th career win for FHS head coach CJ Neely. The Panthers jumped out to a 17-10 lead after eight minutes but junior Geino Scaringello and freshman Caden Sullivan each hit a pair of second quarter threes while Evan DaSilva, Will Tracey, and Sean O’Leary each had one as Franklin’s lead ballooned to 43-22 by halftime. Franklin finished with 13 three-pointers in the win and had 10 players find the score sheet, let by O’Leary’s 19 points and Sean Vinson’s 10 points.

North jumped out to a 16-9 lead after a quarter as senior Casey Poirier scored nine of his team-high 25 points in the opening frame. A three from Brody Rosenberg (20 points) and a pair of buckets from Givany Carney (eight points) helped the Rocketeers take a 29-23 lead into halftime. Connor Andrews (16 points) hit a pair of threes in the third for Stoughton while Rayan Sablon (11 points) and Matt Greenspoon each hit one as Stoughton surged ahead, 38-37, going into the fourth. Poirier and Rosenberg came to life in the fourth, each attributing nine points as North pulled away with the win.

King Philip, 34 @ Attleboro, 46 – FinalAttleboro outscored the Warriors by 10 in the second half to win its third straight game and sweep the season series. The score was 19-17 heading into the locker room, but the Bombardiers had a strong 14-7 third quarter to create a cushion heading to the fourth. Behind six points from Kayla Goldrick and four from Meghan Gordon, Attleboro won the final quarter 13-10 to seal the final win. Goldrick led the Bombardiers with 14 points, including a pair of threes, and Lindsey Perry added nine. Gordon, the team’s leading scorer, was held to eight points in the win. Emily Sawyer and Maddie Paschke both finished with eight points for KP, which also got six points from Liv Lafond.

Sharon, 50 @ Canton, 70 – FinalCanton coach Jim Choquette earned his 100th career win, as the Bulldogs picked up a third straight win. Jasmine Davis had a big game in the loss, scoring 25 points and pulling down 30 rebounds. Eva Poulton added 10 points for the Eagles.

Milford, 19 @ Franklin, 80 – FinalAll 14 players scored for the Panthers, as they continued their unbeaten run. Milford stayed within seven after the first, but Franklin scored 24 points in each of the second and third quarters to take complete control. The Panthers held Milford to six points in the second half. Olivia Quinn was Franklin’s top scorer with 13 points (11 in the first half). Stefany Padula added 11, knocking down three from beyond the arc, and Katie Peterson and Sasha Tracey each finished with 10 points. Brooke Ferreira scored all of her team-high eight points in the first half and the Hawks also got three points from Erin Michelson.

Taunton, 46 @ Mansfield, 61 – FinalThe Hornets came out firing, jumping out to a 25-6 lead that they never looked back from, despite Taunton rallying in the third (winning the quarter 16-5). After Taunton cut the lead to seven going into the fourth, Mansfield scored 19 points over the final eight minutes, including six each from Abby Wager and Olivia Salisbury, to seal the victory. Wager finished with a dozen points. Kara Santos led the Hornets with 14 points, including eight in the first, and Bridget Hanley and Salisbury each scored nine. Kameron St. Pierre scored a game-high 27 points, including all 13 of Taunton’s points in the second quarter. Cali Melo added 13 for the Tigers, all in the second half.

North Attleboro, 48 @ Stoughton, 28 – FinalSummer Doherty scored a season-high 21 points and North Attleboro held the Black Knights to just two points in the third quarter to pull out the road win. It was only a three-point game after one quarter and North built the lead to 21-15 at the half, but then took the third 14-2 to break the game open. Ava McKeon added eight points and Sam Faria had six for the Rocketeers.

Boys Hockey
Attleboro, 1 @ Oliver Ames, 3 – FinalOliver Ames got its second win in as many days, skating to a league win over Attleboro at Asiaf. Matt Lawson, Jack Perron, and Shaun Teehan each lit the lamp once for the Tigers, who had five players record an assist. Junior Brandon Burke made 17 saves in net to get the win.

Taunton, 52 @ Attleboro, 48 – FinalTaunton senior Trent Santos sank a pair of free throws with 4.9 seconds left to ice the win for the Tigers. Santos scored eight of his 16 points in the final frame, hitting of half of his four three-point field goals to lead the Tigers, who trailed 14-9 after a quarter but held the hosts to two points in the second quarter to seize a 20-16 edge at the break. A three-pointer from Attleboro’s Evan Houle put the Bombardiers up 41-38 with four minutes to go but Taunton sophomore Cyrus Morrisette finished a tough take to the rim, Tristan Herry (14 points) drew an offensive foul, and a layup from from Faisal Mass put the Tigers ahead 42-41. Colin Morais (20 points) hit two free throws as Attleboro jumped ahead again but a tough floater in the lane from Herry gave Taunton the lead again, this time for good. Santos added a three with 90 seconds to go to pad Taunton’s lead. Evan Houle added 14 points for the Bombardiers, hitting four three-pointers in the second half.

North Attleboro, 38 @ Canton, 59 – FinalCanton connected on eight of its 10 three-pointers in the first half, racing out to a big lead that it never relinquished in a win over North. Nate Mei (13 points) had two of his triples in the first eight minutes and Lanse Dorcelus scored 18 of his 20 points in the first half as Canton established double-digit leads at the end of the first quarter (21-10) and at halftime (38-15). Matt Chafin and Ashton Cetoute added third quarter triples to help the Bulldogs keep a large lead (51-26) going into the final quarter. Brody Rosenberg and Givany Carney each had 12 points for the Rocketeers.

Sharon, 64 @ Foxboro, 60 – FinalLocked in a close contest the entire way for the second straight game, Sharon emerged with a hard-fought victory on the road over Foxboro. The Eagles’ largest lead of the second half peaked at nine less than a minute into the second half, but it was closer than that the rest of the way. In fact, a 10-0 burst from the Warriors quickly erased that and the teams stayed within two possessions the rest of the way. Sharon carried a 53-51 lead into the fourth quarter and got five points from Matt Baur (16 points), four from Jacob McLoughlin (nine points) and a bucket from John Baez (nine points) to hold on for the win. Dylan Gordon (16 points) banked in a three with just under four minutes to to cut the deficit to one, 59-58 but a strong take from McLoughlin a minute later pushed it back to three. Alex Penders (16 points) cleaned up his own miss with 2:30 to go to one again cut it to one. McLoughlin hit a floater with under a minute to go and Baur added a free throw and the Eagles ended the game without giving up a point over the final two minutes. Donyae Pierre had a big first half for the Eagles, scoring all 12 of his points then to help the Eagles establish a 38-32 halftime lead.

King Philip, 63 @ Milford, 65 – FinalMilford senior Justin Luchini grabbed an offensive rebound and kissed it off the backboard with 1.6 seconds left to give the Scarlet Hawks the win over King Philip. Milford missed on its first layup attempt but Luchini (19 points) poked the rebound free and put it back up and in for the winner. Milford held a 42-29 lead at halftime before King Philip came storming back. Senior Paul Roberts added 14 points, freshman Andrew Rivera added nine points, and junior Wyatt Zagami chipped in with eight points for Milford.

Stoughton, 46 @ Oliver Ames, 42 – FinalAnchored by senior guard Josh Rivera, Stoughton had one of its best defensive performances to secure a road win at OA and its first season sweep of the Tigers since the 2010-2011 season. Defense was the story for both teams from the get go, with OA taking an 8-7 lead after one and Stoughton carrying a 17-14 lead into the locker room at halftime. The Black Knights got the offense going, closing the third on a run capped by a three from junior Rayan Sablon (career-high 26 points) at the buzzer. Sablon went on to score 10 points in the fourth for Stoughton, who pushed the lead to as much as nine before a couple of threes from OA’s Zach Tagliamonte (10 points). Rivera capped it with three free throws down the stretch. CJ Williams added a team-high 12 points for the Tigers.










Girls Basketball
Attleboro, 81 @ Taunton, 47 – FinalClick here for a Photo Gallery from this game. – Attleboro’s offense was clicking on all cylinders on Friday night, as the Bombardiers scored at least 19 points in each quarter to pull out the road win. Meghan Gordon scored 30 points and pulled down 14 rebounds to lead Attleboro, which also got 12 points and 14 rebounds off the bench from freshman Vanessa Ellis. Taunton started well on senior night, as Olivia Gannon scored all eight of her points and Abby Souza scored four of her nine in the first quarter, but Gordon was also on fire from the opening tip, matching Taunton’s total with 14 points in the first eight minutes. Attleboro extended its lead in the second with Gordon scoring seven and the Bombardiers knocking down three triples. Kameron St. Pierre (team-high 16 points) kept the Tigers close by knocking down four from deep and racking up 12 points. Attleboro stormed out of the break with a 22-point third quarter to break the game open. Gordon added another seven, while Lindsey Perry scored six and Lily Routhier added four. Kayla Goldrick scored nine points and dished out eight assists for the Bombardiers, while Routhier, Perry, and Avery Vieira had eight points apiece. Cali Melo had four points, three steals, and three assists and Jillian Doherty had four points for the Tigers.

Canton, 71 @ North Attleboro, 41 – FinalKiara Cerruti scored a game-high 23 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to lead the Bulldogs to the road win. In the process, Cerruti became the program’s all-time leading scorer with 1,068 points, surpassing the 1,057 points of Eileen Morneau. The game was tied at 7-7 after one, but then Canton went on a run, outscoring North 21-5 in the second to take control. Both teams found a rhythm on offense in the third, as they combined for 36 points, but a 24-12 fourth quarter put the game away for the Bulldogs. Fay Gallery added 13 points, five rebounds, and seven assists and Erin Beatty had eight points and six boards for Canton. Maia Mahoney added six points and Han Hong had four assists in the win. Summer Doherty was North’s top scorer, finishing with 15 points (all in the second half) and Taylor McMath had seven.

Foxboro, 72 @ Sharon, 52 – FinalFoxboro bounced back with a big win on the road and clinched its place in the state tournament. The Warriors were led by its underclassman backcourt, as freshman Kailey Sullivan scored a career-high 26 points and sophomore Camryn Collins finished with 24. Jasmine Davis scored 19 points to lead the Eagles and Rachael Hager added 17.

Franklin, 65 @ Mansfield, 34 – Final

Milford, 29 @ King Philip, 35 – FinalThe Warriors outscored Milford 11-5 in the fourth quarter to pull out a defensive struggle. The first quarter was a struggle for both teams on the offensive end and finished 5-4. In the second, KP found the range to score 13 points and extend the lead to eight at the break. Maddie Paschke and Leah Santoro each scored four points in the quarter to help KP build its lead. Both would finish with six on the night. The Hawks stormed back in the third, coming out of halftime with a 14-6 quarter to tie things up heading to the fourth. Maddalena Mannucci Pacini scored six of her game-high 11 points in the third and Emily Croteau added all four of her points in the frame. KP got baskets from five different players in the fourth and held Milford to two made baskets to seal the win. Emily Sawyer led the way for the Warriors with eight points and Julia Marsden added five. Jill Araujo scored five for the Hawks and Khatrina Leger chipped in with four.

Oliver Ames, 70 @ Stoughton, 27 – FinalOliver Ames built a double-digit lead by halftime and never looked back in a win on the road at Stoughton. Caroline Peper and Jasmyn Cooper each scored 15 points for the Tigers, who led 31-15 at the halftime break. Anna Murphy chipped in with 10 points for the visitors. Senior Kate Bulger led all scorers for Stoughton with 11 points and sophomore Alyssa Edwards grabbed eight boards.

Canton, 4 vs. Lincoln-Sudbury, 0 – FinalAudrey Koen scored a pair of goals and Carolyn Durand made 19 saves to earn the shutout, as Canton picked up a big non-league win. It is the fifth straight win for the Bulldogs. Tess Khoury scored one and had a pair of assists, while Payton McDonough had a goal and assist. Allie McCabe had two helpers in the win.

Stoughton, 50 @ Canton, 70 – FinalAfter struggling to find its shooting touch over the weekend on the road, Canton was on fire from downtown in its win over Stoughton. Canton came out hitting from three-point range right from the start with five trifectas in the first quarter, and eight by halftime, leading to a 34-27 lead at the break. The Bulldogs added four more in the third and finished with 14 made threes, and senior Lanse Dorcelus scored all of his 16 points in the second half as Canton pulled away (58-38) going into the final quarter. Matt Chafin hit on four threes and finished with 16 points, Nate Mei hit two threes and had 10 points, and a total of eight different Bulldogs made a three-pointer. Stoughton junior Rayan Sablon head a game-high 19 points.

Foxboro, 43 @ North Attleboro, 59 – FinalNorth Attleboro’s defense limited visiting Foxboro to single digits in each the second and third quarters, and the Rocketeers created separation with a big third quarter to earn the upset win. The Rocketeers took a 26-22 lead into the locker room and then limited the Warriors to seven points in the third. Meanwhile, the offense came alive for 16 points as junior Givany Carney scored six of his career-high 17 points and senior Brody Rosenberg had five of his team-high 20 points to take a 42-29 lead into the fourth quarter. North had six players contribute to its 17-point fourth quarter and went 9-for-13 from the line over the final eight minutes. Junior Alex Penders led Foxboro with 23 points while Dylan Gordon added 11 points.

King Philip, 60 @ Mansfield, 74 – FinalKing Philip exploded for 27 points in the second quarter to seize a halftime lead but Mansfield responded with over 20 points in each the third and fourth quarters to get the win. The Warriors trailed 22-10 after the opening quarter but then won the third 27-9, including a 21-0 run, to take a 37-31 lead into the locker room. Freshman Tommy Kilroy came in and scored all of his 11 points in the second to spark KP’s run. The Hornets got back on track in the third as Matt Hyland scored seven of his 15 points, sophomore Trevor Foley added five of his 18 points, and senior Andrew Slaney had five of his career-high 22 points to help the Hornets jump back in front, 52-49. Mansfield kept its foot on the pedal in the fourth with Slaney adding nine more and Foley added six while the visiting Warriors were held to 23 second half points. Will Laplante added 15 points while both Grant Kinney and Tommy Martorano added 11 points each for KP.

Oliver Ames, 64 @ Sharon, 60 – FinalOliver Ames emerged with a key division win in a close contest on the road at Sharon, splitting the season series. Neither team saw a double-digit lead as the contest stayed close throughout, OA leading leading at the end of each quarter, including a slim 37-35 lead at halftime and a 49-45 advantage going into the fourth. Junior Zach Tagliamonte led the charge for the Tigers with 25 points while CJ Williams gave the visitors a big boost with 13 points and nine rebounds. Sophomore Nate Katznelson scored a team-high 20 points while Matt Baur added 17 points.










Girls Basketball
Milford, 29 @ Attleboro, 55 – FinalAttleboro put together a strong defensive performance to put an end to a three-game losing streak. The Bombardiers held Milford to 10 or fewer points in each quarter and jumped out to a 32-10 lead by halftime to break the game open early. Meghan Gordon and Lily Routhier each scored 11 points for Attleboro, which also got eight points from Lindsey Perry and seven points from Vanessa Ellis. Maddalena Mannucci Pacini had 11 for the Hawks. Erin Michelson and Jill Araujo each scored four points in the loss.

Canton, 63 @ Stoughton, 38 – FinalCanton bounced back from a tough loss to OA on Monday but pulling out a road win just 24 hours later. Fay Gallery led the way for the Bulldogs, scoring 24 points, grabbing six boards, dishing out six assists, and recording eight steals. Kiara Cerruti added 16 points and four boards and Sydney Gallery had 12 points and eight rebounds in the win. Senior Vanessa Phelimond played well on both ends of the floor and Makaiyah Singleton Rivera was a great spark in the second half for Stoughton

North Attleboro, 38 @ Foxboro, 66 – FinalFoxboro broke the game open with 22 points in the second quarter, running out to a big win. Camryn Collins and Kailey Sullivan each scored 18 points for the Warriors, while Hannah Blake (11 points) and Erin Foley (10 points) both reached double digits as well. North was down only three after one, using a good zone defense to slow Foxboro down, but the Rocketeers struggled to keep up on the other end of the court. Summer Doherty led North in scoring with 14 points and freshman Maryellen Charette added 10.

Franklin, 59 @ Taunton, 33 – FinalTaunton was tied with Franklin late in the third quarter, but the Panthers, playing their third game in three days, caught fire in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Tigers 26-5 in the final period, to pull out the win. With the victory, Franklin clinches at least a share of the Kelley-Rex division title. Katie Peterson, Olivia Quinn, and Brigid Earley each scored seven points in the fourth to propel Franklin to the win. Peterson led all scorers with 17, while Quinn finished with 16 and Earley had 11. Stefany Padula added 10 points on three triples in the win. Kameron St. Pierre was Taunton’s top scorer with 16 points. Olivia Gannon chipped in with six points and Cali Melo had four.
