Franklin, 3 vs. Marshfield, 2 – Final (OT)Brendan O’Rielly scored the overtime winner to hand Franklin the Melchiono Tournament title. Jeremy Miller and Scott Elliott also scored in the win, which will be recorded as a tie for MIAA purposes.

Oliver Ames, 5 vs. Westwood, 2 – FinalOliver Ames overcame a 2-0 deficit after a period of play with five unanswered goals to beat the Wolverines. Senior Rory Madden scored the first two goals to tie the game with freshman Ross Carroll and junior Adam Lyons earning assists on both goals. Junior Max Ward put OA ahead on the power play with Brett Williams assisting. Madden set up junior Matt McCormack for the fourth goal and Carroll sealed the game with an empty net goal. OA coach Sean Bertoni noted sophomore goalie Owen Connor had a strong performance in net.

Stoughton, 61 @ Waltham, 71 – FinalStoughton scored 42 points in the second half and outscored the host Hawks over the last two quarters but the Black Knights couldn’t overcome a slow first half. The Knights shot just 25% from the floor in the opening half, falling behind 37-19 at the break. Stoughton hit five threes in the second half to help close the gap. Senior Cam Andrews had a game-high 21 points and 13 rebounds while classmate Colin Sanda had eight points, six rebounds, and five assists. Both Andrews and Sanda were named to the all-tournament team.

Taunton, 71 @ Catholic Memorial, 90 – Final

Foxboro, 58 vs. Natick, 45 – FinalAshley Sampson scored 27 points and Foxboro closed out the regular season by winning the Warrior Classic and sewing up the top seed in Div. 2 South. Sampson was named the tournament MVP after a 29-point performance on Monday and Lily Sykes was named to the all-tournament team.

Franklin, 52 vs. Shepherd Hill, 43 – FinalAli Brigham and Bea Bondhus combined for 31 points to help the Panthers beat the top seed at the Westboro tournament and one of the top seeds in the Central. Franklin will face Hopkinton in the tournament final on Thursday night.

Oliver Ames, 77 vs Duxbury, 74 – Final (2 OT)Oliver Ames sophomore Meg Holleran hit a pair of late three-pointers to help the Tigers edge the Dragons in the Norwell Invitational. “Key combinations of grit and determination earned the win,” said OA head coach Laney Clement-Holbrook. Senior Kayla Raymond had a team-high 22 points and 12 rebounds while classmate Abby Reardon had 12 points, including some key free throws down the stretch. Alex Sheldon added nine points and eight rebounds for the Tigers.

Boys Hockey
Canton, 2 vs. Medfield, 0 – FinalCanton senior Bubba McNeice scored in the first period and junior Ryan Nolte scored in the second to give the Bulldogs a win in the first round of the Joe Quinn Memorial Tournament. Quinn Gibbs recorded the shutout in net. Canton advances to the finals and will take on host Coyle & Cassidy on Thursday at 7:30.

Oliver Ames, 6 vs. Sandwich, 0 – FinalMax Ward recorded a hat trick to lead the Tigers to a big win in the consolation game of the Jeff Hayes Memorial Tournament. Colin Bourne and Brett Williams each scored once in the first period while senior Adam Healy scored in the second. Rory Madden had two assists while sophomore Owen Connor made 16 saves to earn the shutout.

Taunton, 8 @ Stoughton, 3 – FinalTaunton senior Will Walsh recorded a hat trick to pace the Tigers past the Black Knights at Asiaf Arena.

Attleboro, 2 vs. Southeastern, 1 – FinalAttleboro’s Cam Littig and Ryan Morry each scored to lift the Bombardiers to a key division win over Southeastern (15-4).

Canton, 0 @ Oliver Ames, 1 – FinalOliver Ames junior Matt McCormack scored early in the first period and sophomore Owen Connor had a strong game in goal, making 42 saves to earn the shutout in a non-league clash at Warrior Ice Arena. McCormack took a pass from sophomore Jake Gottwald to score the game-winning goal.

Mansfield, 4 @ Brockton, 1 – FinalMansfield junior Chris Copponi scored a hat trick in the first period, the second two less than a minute apart to lift the Hornets to a win on the road. Copponi opened the scoring on an assist from Nick Levine. Coleman Jenkins and Jake Lund set up Copponi’s second goal, and Lund and Tyler Oakley earned helpers on Mansfield’s third goal. Cullin Anastasia added a goal in the second period with Chris Kelleher and Adam Anastos assisting.

Taunton, 9 vs. Durfee, 1 – Final Taunton’s Cam Sneyd scored a hat trick, Mike Albert and Jakob Roberts each found the back of the net twice.

Girls Hockey
Canton, 2 @ Mansfield/Oliver Ames, 1 – FinalCanton’s Kendra Farrelly scored a pair of goals to help the Bulldogs pick up the win. With the win, Canton clinches at least a share of the first ever Hockomock League title for girls hockey.

North Attleboro, 3 @ Foxboro, 2 – FinalNorth Attleboro junior Brendan McHugh scored five minutes into the third period to help Big Red beat Foxboro. North’s Drew Wissler and Todd Robinson scored in the second period to build a 2-0 lead but Foxboro’s Aidan Sullivan and Ronnie MacLellan scored within a minute span to tie the game.

King Philip, 1 @ Oliver Ames, 3 – FinalOliver Ames scored once in each period to beat visiting King Philip. OA junior Brett Williams set up Colin Bourne for the opening goal in the first period, Williams scored himself in the second period, and then Williams assisted on Adam Healy’s third-period goal. Sophomore Owen Connor made 17 saves in net for OA.

Wrestling
Div. 1 State Dual Meet (Franklin) – After a bye to start the day, Franklin won three straight dual meets to claim the D1 State Dual Meet championship. The Panthers beat Lawrence (54-9) in the quarterfinals, took down St. John’s Prep (59-11) in the semifinals, and won the title with an impressive 53-13 win over Chelmsford – ranked fourth in the state – in the finals to earn the title.

Div. 2 State Dual Meet (Milford, North Attleboro, Oliver Ames) – North Attleboro beat Oliver Ames (64-3) and Nashoba to advance to the D2 State Dual Finals but fell to Central Catholic. North senior Jake Direnzo picked up his 100th career victory during the day. Oliver Ames opened the day with a decisive 60-15 win over Beverly, and after losing to North Attleboro, defeated defending D2 state champs North Andover in the consolation round, 39-37. Remy Creighton, Casey Bellevue, Brandon Belleton, Dean Pacini, and Darnele Ryan each earned two wins each on the day for OA.

Div. 3 State Dual Meet (Foxboro) – Tied 27-27 entering the final match, Foxboro’s Adam Lanctot pulled out a 6-0 victory to give the Warriors three points, a 30-27 win over Dedham and the program’s second straight D3 State Dual Championship. Foxboro opened the way with a win over AMSA (54-13) and then took down Wayland (46-22) to advance to the finals.

Hingham Quad (Canton, Mansfield) – Mansfield had a solid showing, picking up wins over Scituate (33-17) and the host, Hingham (42-33). Canton also notched a win against the Sailors (44-17) but suffered a setback against the Harbormen (37-34) in a back-and-forth match.

Franklin County Tech Quad (King Philip) – King Philip dropped matches to Franklin Tech (42-34) and West Springfield (51-26).

Bridgewater-Raynham Quad (Stoughton, Stoughton) – Sharon swept the competition at the Bridgewater-Raynham quad. The Eagles beat Silver Lake (60-24), Duxbury (51-24) and host Bridgewater-Raynham (47-30). Stoughton beat Duxbury (48-31) but lost to B-R (47-27).

New Bedford Quad (Taunton) – Taunton suffered three setbacks, falling to New Bedford (38-14), Braintree (48-6) and Dighton-Rehoboth (18-12). Woudanly Danger (220) and Mason Frank (285) each had two wins for the Tigers while Guerard Theodore (132) and Candido Santos (160) each recorded one victory apiece.

Franklin, 134.75 @ Attleboro, 130.1 – FinalFranklin junior Mia Lizotte had her best performance of the season, earning a season-high score of 36.8 to take first place in the All Around. Panthers senior Liz Traphagen was second in All Around, notching a 34.75. Franklin results: Vault – Lizotte (9.35), Traphagen (8.55), Lexi Lupien (8.4), Rachel Cyr (8.3), Audrey DiMella (8.2), Katelyn Guidi (8.0), Sophie Redwine (7.9), Chloe Barac (7.8). OA senior Eric LeBlanc had the lone goal for the Tigers on an assist from sophomore Hunter Costello while sophomore Owen Connor made 35 saves in net.

King Philip, 1 @ Mansfield, 6 – FinalAfter a scoreless first period, Mansfield built a 2-0 lead after two periods and then poured in four goals in the final frame to beat King Philip. Senior defenseman Tim Arnold had a hat trick for the Hornets.

Franklin, 2 @ Medfield/Norton, 0 – FinalFreshman Natalie Stott tossed another shutout in net for the Panthers, while Amanda Lewandowski and Jordan Dwyer added the goals, to clinch Franklin’s spot in the postseason.

Foxboro, 5 @ Bellingham, 5 – FinalFoxboro’s Josh Bertumen and Sam Garrabrant each scored a pair of goals for the Warriors while Brendan Tully notched one goal and two helpers.

Oliver Ames, 3 @ Wellesley, 2 – FinalOliver Ames picked up a huge upset on the road, handing Wellesley its first loss of the season. The Raiders entered the game 8-0-3 and as one of D1 South’s top teams, allowing just nine goals. OA opened the scoring with a goal in the second period but fell behind 2-1 entering the third period. The Tigers then scored with 8:13 left to tie the game and netted the winner with just 1:45 to play. Junior Max Ward scored the game-winner on an assist from Rory Madden, and also scored OA’s first goal. Junior Brett Williams tied the game for the Tigers in the third. Head coach Sean Bertoni said sophomore Owen Connor played great in goal with 29 saves.

Franklin, 130.65 @ Canton, 105.50 – FinalFranklin senior Liz Traphagen won the All Around with a score of 34.7 while junior Sadie Rondeau was second, scoring an 8.5 on beam and 8.0 on floor. Mia Lizotte scored an 8.90 on vault and a 9.1 on floor, senior Molly Stanton’s score on beam, junior Rachel Cyr’s vault score, freshman Katelyn Guidi score on bars, and freshman Lexi Lupien’s scores on vault, beam and, floor all counted towards the Panthers’ win.

Oliver Ames, 139.2 @ Taunton, 119.95 – FinalOliver Ames senior Hannah Moynihan took first place in the All-Around with an impressive 36.15 to help the Tigers improve to 5-0. Moynihan scored a 9.1 on vault, 9.2 on bars, and 9.0 on the floor. Junior Gianna Martucci placed second with a 34.95 all around. Sophomore Lauren Picanzi contributed a 9.1 on bars. Other contributors for OA included senior Charis MacCuish, sophomore Tina O’Neill, and freshmen Ashlyn Latham and Kiara Nagle.
