OA head coach Britt Sellmayer aid senior Brianna Gibson and senior Gabrielle McLaughlin played well. North coach Bill Wallace called it a “good back and forth game.” He added that Emma Gaulin covered a lot of ground in the midfield and the back line of Lydia Hershey, Sam Hawkins, Bri Westcott, Morgan Silver, and Olivia Bishop all played well. Emma Noreck earned the clean sheet in goal for North.

Mansfield, 3 @ Attleboro, 0 – FinalSophomore Abby Varricchione scored just over halfway through the second half to break a scoreless tie to give the Hornets the lead for good. Attleboro, 221 @ Milford, 222 – Final (5 Cards)After being tied at 175 through four cards, the match went to a fifth card and Attleboro emerged with a one-stroke win. Attleboro’s Ethan Johnson and Milford’s Riley Lynch were co-medalists, each shooting 40 on the day.

Foxboro, 172 @ Canton, 155 – FinalCanton’s Chris Lavoie fired a 1-over par round of 35 at Blue Hill Country Club to pace the Bulldogs to a win over visiting Foxboro. Tommy Dimock added a round of 38 while Mike Gobbi carded a 39. Jon Dowling and Noah Hicks each shot 42 for Foxboro.

#5 Mansfield, 0 vs. #12 Braintree, 1 – FinalBraintree scored the lone goal of the game in the 33rd minute, eliminating the Hornets from the D1 South tournament. Mansfield keeper Nick Ferraz made 10 saves in net.

#8 King Philip, 1 vs. #9 Natick, 0 – FinalKing Philip senior Thomas Lugten was in the right spot at the right time, ripping a one-timer off a rebound to net the lone goal of the game and help the Warriors advance. In the 49th minute, junior Anthony Bozza attacked down the left side, cut it back and ripped a shot that bounced off the post. The rebound fell to Lugten just inside the 18 for his one-timer. King Philip advances to play top-seeded Brockton on Monday at 6:00.

#7 Mansfield, 0 vs. #10 Marshfield, 2 – FinalMarshfield scored a pair of goals in the second half to land the upset on the road. Mansfield finishes the season 13-2-2.

#8 North Attleboro, 2 vs. #9 Bishop Feehan, 2 – Final (North wins 3-2 in PKs)North Attleboro junior goalie Emma Noreck turned away two penalty kicks and three Rocketeers converted their chances from the spot as Big Red denied an upset bid from the Shamrocks. Feehan took a lead on a penalty kick early in the first half but Kayla Pasquel netted an olimpico – scoring directly off a corner kick – with five minutes to play in the half to knot the score. Feehan regained the lead in the 55th minute but Haley Guertin had an answer, finding the back of the net out of a scrum off a service from Pasquel. After two scoreless overtime periods, the teams went to PKs. Noreck made saves on Feehan’s first and fifth shots while Pasquel, Aine Mendonca and Ashlyn Gaulin scored from the spot. NAHS head coach Bill Wallace added Leah Jette, Emma Gaulin and Felicity Monfils played great and Sam Hawkins was outstanding, shutting down Feehan’s leading scorer.

#4 Canton, 2 vs. #13 Dartmouth, 1 – FinalSenior Andrea McNeil opened the scoring early on to give the Bulldogs the lead but Canton needed a late-winner to fend off an upset bid by the Indians. McNeil scored just a minute into the contest but Dartmouth knotted the score with 18 minutes left to play. Sophomore Kaitlyn Goyetch netted the game-winner off of a corner with 2:09 left.

De Oliveira opened the scoring in the 10th minute on a feed from Anthony Salvador. The Hawks doubled the lead in the 60th minute when de Oliveira converted a chance from Joey Madden. The sophomore capped his scoring with a shot from nearly 30-yards out in the 75th minute. Edwards added that Filipe Da Silva also played a great game up top for the Scarlet Hawks.

Oliver Ames, 3 @ Foxboro, 1 – FinalOliver Ames set the tone early, scoring inside the first minutes, to take two points on the road at Foxboro. Matt Alvarado took a feed from Cam Vella to put the visitors ahead. Foxboro’s Shane VandenBoom tied the game 10 minutes later but OA went back ahead in the 23rd minute when Alvarado set up Mason Galbato. Jack Sheldon netted an olimpico – directly off a corner kick – in the 50th minute to give the Tigers a two-goal cushion.

Franklin, 2 @ Stoughton, 0 – FinalFranklin sophomore Donny Tappin factored into both of the Panthers’ goals, helping take two points on the road at Stoughton. Tappin opened the scoring on a feed from classmate Jacob Cummings and then set up senior Will Conley for the Panthers’ second tally.

King Philip, 2 @ Sharon, 1 – FinalJust two minutes after Sharon equalized the game, King Philip netted the game-winner to take two points on the road. Senior Tyler Mann opened the scoring in the 66th minute, netting a shot from outside the area to put the Warriors up 1-0. Sharon’s Spencer Hall leveled the match in the 73rd minute but Thomas Lugten found the winner for KP off a cross from Zac White in the 75th minute.

Mansfield, 0 @ North Attleboro, 1 – FinalNorth Attleboro senior Gabe Pinhancos scored the lone goal of the game just under five minutes into the second half to give the Rocketeers a berth in the MIAA state tournament. Ryan Pasquel played a low service on a corner, which was dummied by Zach Matracia. Pinhancos then latched onto the ball inside the area to beat the keeper.

Foxboro, 1 @ Oliver Ames, 3 – FinalJackie Mills scored a hat trick for the Tigers, while Sofia Masciarelli, Anna Tempestoso and Abby Reardon had assists for OA. Mackenzie Fraser scored the lone goal for the Warriors.

Stoughton, 0 @ Franklin, 5 – FinalMiranda Smith got the Franklin offense going with a pair of goals, while Anna Balkus added a goal and an assist for the Panthers. Halle Atkinson and Olivia Dellorco also scored in the win and Molly Duncan, Erin Quaile, and Calen Frongillo had assists. According to Stoughton coach Tara Daniels, Victoria Fallon had a “strong game” and showed off “her versatility and leadership as a center back.”

Sharon, 0 @ King Philip, 4 – FinalChloe Layne scored a brace and recorded an assist and Ally Stanton had a goal and an assist for the Warriors. Layne opened the scoring in the eighth minute off an assist by Hanna Balunos and then assisted on a goal by Avery Snead four minutes later. In the 55th minute, Layne scored her second on an assist by Stanton and then Stanton wrapped up the win with a 20-yard strike to the far post assisted by Abby Baker.

North Attleboro, 1 @ Mansfield, 1 – FinalAshlyn Gaulin opened the scoring for North Attleboro off a first half corner, but Emily Vigeant equalized with a 30-yard free kick in the second half to send both defending league champs home with a point apiece. “It was a great game,” said North head coach Bill Wallace. Wallace added that Rachel LaBonte and Sam Hawkins “played incredible in the back” for the Rocketeers while Haley Guertin had a strong two-way game. Mansfield coach Kevin Smith added that both defenses “played fantastic.”

Taunton, 1 @ Canton, 3 – FinalAfter splitting the first two games, Canton earned two straight wins to get the 3-1 (25-19, 23-25, 25-11, 25-19) win over Taunton. Rose Hazam had a strong all-around game with eight kills, six aces and 13 digs for the Bulldogs while Hannah Jerrier added 11 kills. Nicole Brown (four kills) paced the offense with 21 assists while Megan McDonough, Sofia Connor and Julia Minichiello had strong performances defensively for Canton.

Oliver Ames, 3 @ Foxboro, 0 – FinalThe Tigers picked up a sweep (25-14, 25-18, 25-16) on the road to grab the team’s fifth win of the season – all coming in the last six games. Sophomore Ally Kemp led OA with 25 assists, junior Sadie Homer added 13 digs, and senior Kayla Raymond finished with seven kills and a pair of blocks. OAHS head coach Chelsea Cunningham added that junior Caitlin Cavanaugh played a great game on the outside.

Franklin, 1 @ Stoughton, 3 – FinalAfter falling 25-27 in the first set, Stoughton’s Molly Turner started the second game with 10 service points, including four aces, and the Black Knights never looked back in rattling off three straight wins. Seniors Jordan Motley, Val Whalen and Vicky Ramos combined for over 30 kills for Stoughton. Lauren Lockhart led Franklin with eight kills while Meaghan Maguire (three blocks) added seven kills and Maggie Doyle (five blocks) had six kills. Lauren Bissanti finished with seven digs and three aces for the Panthers.

Mansfield, 0 @ North Attleboro, 3 – FinalNorth Attleboro was pushed to the limit for the first two games, but prevailed with wins in both and went on the complete the 3-0 (26-24, 25-22, 25-16) sweep of Mansfield. Anna Caristi recorded a team-high 11 kills for the Rocketeers while Kezie De La Cruz had 10 kills, three aces and two blocks. Meg Hill led Mansfield with 13 kills, Julia Harrison added six kills and 10 digs and Jolie O’Neil had 10 digs and 11 service points for the Hornets.

King Philip, 3 @ Sharon, 0 – FinalKing Philip picked up a sweep on the road, leaving Sharon with a 25-12, 25-15, 25-13 win to improved to 11-1. Sydney Phillips had eight kills, four digs, three aces and 10 service points, Michaela Palumbo added five kills and Julianne Rando finished with seven digs and eight service points, including an ace. Both Elise Pereira (six digs, two aces, eight service points) and Rachael Veilleux (nine service points, five aces) had strong serving performances for KP.

Sharon, 1 @ Milford, 1 – FinalMilford scored the go-ahead goal midway through the second half but Sharon found the equalizer with just three minutes to play to earn a point on the road. Wallison de Oliveira put the Hawks up in the 60th minute but Michael Bauer cleaned up a loose ball in the area to knot the game. Sharon nearly had the winner in the final minute, but Milford keeper Luke Capobianco made a key say. MHS head coach Brian Edwards added Tiago Carvalho played a great game in the midfield for the Hawks.

Attleboro, 2 @ Taunton, 3 – FinalSamantha Tichelaar extended her goal-scoring streak to four games, while Megan Flanagan and Alex Wapenski each added goals to make it back-to-back wins for the Tigers. Khy Camaro, Emma Silvia, and Kasey Colvin each had assists in the win and Grace Pimenta made five saves.

Stoughton, 2 @ Canton, 7 – FinalFreshman Olivia Rodman scored a hat trick and recorded an assist for the Bulldogs to keep Canton in a tie for second place in the Davenport. Fellow freshman Elisa Diletzia added a brace for Canton. Sarah Collins and Morgan McCabe also scored in the win. Chinazo Odunze scored the first for the Black Knights off a Mackenzie Manning assist and Manning scored the second from the penalty spot.

North Attleboro, 4 @ Foxboro, 1 – FinalAshlyn Gaulin had a hat trick for the Davenport leaders and Haley Ferrin added the fourth. Haley Guertin had a pair of assists, while Rachel Labonte and Kayla Pasquel each added one. According to North coach Bill Wallace, Emma Noreck led a “strong defensive effort” and he noted the solid play of Emily Chiasson, Lauren Dow, Sam Hawkins and Julia Tolfa. Lizzy Davis had the lone goal for the Warriors and Foxboro coach Katie Stalcup said that Alex Stamatos had a “great game” in the Foxboro defense.

King Philip, 4 @ Franklin, 2 – FinalKing Philip scored four times in the opening 20 minutes of the game and held on after Franklin scored two to halve the deficit before the break. Avery Snead scored twice and assisted on another, while Chloe Layne added a goal and an assist. Emma Corcoran had an assist and Ally Stanton added the fourth goal for the Warriors.

Mansfield, 2 @ Oliver Ames, 1 – FinalEmily Vigeant scored a penalty kick that turned out to be the game-winner for the Hornets. Stephanie Kemp had the other goal for Mansfield.

Milford, 3 @ Sharon, 0 – FinalJuliana France scored a pair of goals and Ashleigh Starks had one for the Hawks to end the team’s three-game winless streak and move Milford within a point of second place in the Davenport. Sharon coach Brad Furnival said that his team had its fair share of chances, including a Sabrina Robbins free kick that struck the bar, but that the Eagles “weren’t clinical enough. He added that the second Milford goal was “fantastic,” a 25-yard half-volley into the top corner.

Canton, 2 @ Stoughton, 1 – FinalCanton’s Maggie Malloy and Kaitlyn Goyetch each found the back of the net as the Bulldogs held off Stoughton in a tight affair. Allie Howe scored Stoughton’s lone goal of the game.

Oliver Ames, 3 @ Mansfield, 3 – FinalOliver Ames erased a pair of one-goal deficits in the second half to earn a draw on the road. The Tigers took the lead behind a goal from Hannah Stryke, assisted by Kayla Lozzi, but Mansfield stormed back with goals from Ann Maher (unassisted) and Brooke Downey (from Heather D’Ambra) to take a 2-1 lead at the break. Lozzi tied the game before D’Ambra put the Hornets back up on a feed from Emily Ierardo. Stryke netted her second of the game, on an assist from Maggie Woods, to tie the game. OA goalie Caitlin Grant made 11 saves in net.

Sharon, 0 @ Milford, 9 – FinalShannon Cormier netted four goals to lead the Scarlet Hawks to a big win over visiting Sharon. Danielle Fokas added three goals and Colby Bowers netted her first career goal in the win.

Volleyball

Canton, 0 @ Stoughton, 3 – FinalStoughton defended home court with a 25-19, 25-19, 25-14 win over visiting Canton. Senior Val Whalen led the Black Knights with 16 kills while senior Vicky Ramos had a strong game on the outside with five kills. Juniors Hanna Holden and Molly Turner combined for over 30 assists. Nicole Brown paced Canton with 20 assists and four kills, Taylor Harris had nine kills and Megan McDonough played great defense with 13 digs and a pair of aces.

Foxboro, 0 @ North Attleboro, 3 – FinalNorth Attleboro got stronger as the match went on, notching a 25-17, 25-12, 25-6 sweep against visiting Foxboro. Tori Melanson had a strong day at both the net (seven kills) and serving (five aces) while Amelia Murphy finished with eight kills. Kezia De La Cruz had her best serving performance of the year, finishing with nine aces to go along with five kills.

Franklin, 1 @ King Philip. 3 – FinalIt was a strong team performance for King Philip, picking up a 25-17, 25-17, 20-25, 25-20 win over Franklin. Sydney Phillips led the way offensively with 18 kills, four digs and two blocks while Michaela Palumbo added nine kills and 10 service points and Grace Ely chipped in with six kills and two blocks, Kat Kmetz had a strong day serving with 19 service points while Elise Pereira had four aces and seven digs. Rachael Veilleux had a strong all-around day with 34 assists and 12 service points, including five aces.

Oliver Ames, 2 @ Mansfield, 3 – FinalTrailing 8-7 in the deciding fifth set, Mansfield’s Katie Dardinski (11 service points) served six straight points to put the Hornets ahead for good. Mansfield won the match 17-25, 25-22, 25-22, 17-25, 15-9. Meg Hill had a strong day at the net with 23 kills while Lexi Gardner added nine kills and 20 service points. Julia Harrison added seven kills and 12 digs for the Hornets. For Oliver Ames, sophomore Ally Kemp had 35 assists to go along with five kills while Katie Flynn (14 kills) and Kayla Raymond (nine kills, six blocks, four aces) paced the Tigers’ offense. Junior Sadie Homer finished with 19 digs and three aces for OA.

King Philip, 172 @ Mansfield, 163 – FinalMansfield junior Jake DiSangro and freshman Nathan Morreale each carded rounds of 40 to lead the Hornets to a key division win over King Philip. Freshman Brian See added a 41 while senior Brendan Loomer carded a round of 42 in the win.

Milford, 176 @ Stoughton, 186 – FinalMilford’s Riley Lynch and Stoughton’s Brendan Campbell shared medalist honors, each carding a round of 42. Milford’s Andrew Fauerbach added a 44 in the Hawks’ win.

Franklin, 162 @ Attleboro, 167 – FinalAttleboro’s Corey McKenna and Franklin’s Bryan Woelfel earned co-medalist honors at Highland Country Club, but Matt D’Errico’s round of 40 and Gerard Collins and Jack Paterson both for 42 to help the Panthers earn the win. Jack Handy added a 41 for the Bombardiers.

Sharon, 165 @ Oliver Ames, 137 – FinalOliver Ames’ Thomas Walsh birdied on five of his last six holes to shoot an incredible four-under-par round of 30 to lead the Tigers to a win. Walsh sank a 20-foot put on the last hole to finish at 30. Walsh’s round, which may be a school record, was complemented by Ryan McGarry’s par round of 34, Mark Bissonette’s round of 36 and Eric LeBlanc’s round of 37.

#8 North Attleboro, 4 vs. #9 Marshfield, 2 – FinalAfter conceding an early penalty kick, North Attleboro rattled off four straight goals to beat the Rams. Ashlyn Gaulin tied the game off an assist from Haley Ferrin and then Ferrin put North in front, finishing off a pass from Haley Guertin. Just before halftime, Aine Mendonca converted a service from Guertin to make it 3-1. Gaulin made it 4-1 in the second half off another assist from Ferrin. North head coach Bill Wallace said Rachel LaBonte, Emily Chiasson, Sam Hawkins, Julia Tolfa and goalie Nina Beauvais kept the Rocketeers composed. The Rocketeers advance to the Div. 1 South quarterfinal to face Natick.

#6 King Philip, 2 @ #3 Somerset Berkley, 1 – Final (Penalty Strokes)After Somerset Berkley seized the lead, King Philip’s Caitlin Donahue tied the game in the second half off an assist from Alli Meehan. After two scoreless overtime periods, the teams headed to penalty strokes. Christina Hathaway’s stroke proved to be the winner as KP won 2-0 in strokes – Liz Furfari also found the back of the cage. Abby Campbell stopped all four penalty strokes she saw. KP advances to the D1 South Semifinal to take on #2 Walpole on Wednesday.

#2 Foxboro, 1 vs. #10 Holliston, 0 – FinalCatherine Luciano scored the lone goal of the game to send Foxboro into the Div. 2 South semifinal. The Warriors will face #3 Cohasset.

Milford, 2 @ North Attleboro, 1 – FinalMilford overcame a one goal deficit to grab the two points. North’s Gabe Pinhancos scored what was described as a gorgeous goal to give the Rocketeers the lead. Milford’s Pedro Sampaio tied the game off an assist from Joey Madden early in the second half while Marcello Panno netted the game winning goal off an assist by Tiago Carvalho.

Oliver Ames, 2 @ Taunton, 0 – FinalJames Gillespie and Thomas McCormick each scored to lead the Tigers to their third straight win. Nathaniel Cardoza had the assist on Gillespie’s goal while Jack Sheldon set up McCormick’s tally.

Attleboro, 0 @ Franklin, 7 – FinalEmily Mastaj and Calen Frongillo each had two goals and an assist for the Panthers. Molly Duncan added a goal and an assist for Franklin, while Nadia Havens and Ellie Teixeira both scored goals. Miranda Smith and Jamie Dragsbaek also had assists.

Canton, 2 @ Foxboro, 3 – FinalKristen Bortolotti scored a pair of goals for the Warriors who rallied from a 2-0 deficit to pick up the win. Kendra Wentling’s first goal of the season was the game-winner and Lily Sykes recorded assists on all three goals.

King Philip, 0 @ Mansfield, 2 – FinalHannah Reiter recorded a goal and an assist, as the Hornets scored twice in the first half to stay within a point of league leading OA. Reiter scrambled home a goal from a corner with Melissa Reef getting the assist and then her shot was saved into the path of Cassidy McMahon who knocked it in for a 2-0 lead. Emily Gaumond made three saves for the Hornets and Emma Durant made seven saves for the Warriors.

North Attleboro, 4 @ Milford, 1 – FinalWith the win, the Rocketeers clinched the Davenport division title, which is the first in program history. North Attleboro scored once in the first half but added three more in the second stanza. Ashlyn Gaulin opened the scoring for North, converting a pass from Haley Guertin. Emma Gaulin scored the next two goals for Big Red, finishing off passes from Guertin and Emily Scrhomm. Grace McGoldrick capped North’s scoring off an assist from Julia Tolfa. North head coach Bill Wallace said Rachel LaBonte, Emily Chiasson and Sam Hawkins all played great in the back. Maggie Boyle scored the lone goal for Milford on an assist by Julianna France. Milford coach Jay Mastaj said that Nicole Dahlgren played well defensively.

Taunton, 0 @ Oliver Ames, 5 – FinalJackie Mills scored a pair of goals to pace Oliver Ames to a win at home. Jess Mills, Lauren Wright and Claudia Ferrara each added a goal apiece for OA.
