North Attleboro, 0 @ Attleboro, 10 – FinalAttleboro had one of its most complete games of the season, pushing across 10 runs while securing its first shutout of the 2021 campaign. Junior Billy Saltmarsh pitched five shutout innings, letting up just a pair of hits while striking out three to get the win. Offensively, Matt McMahon smashed a three-run home run while seniors Bailey Camacho, Jake Gorman, and Ben Lehane all had big hits in the win.

Taunton, 8 @ Foxboro, 4 – FinalTaunton senior Danny MacDougall blasted a three-run home run in the middle of a five-run sixth inning as the Tigers turned a one-run deficit into an 8-4 win on the road. Foxboro scored in each the first and second innings, the latter to take a 2-1 lead. Taunton jumped ahead 3-2 in the top of the fourth but the Warriors regained the lead with two runs in the bottom half of the fourth. Colby DaCouta added two RBI and two runs for the Tigers while Ty Cali and Ethan Ross each had two hits and scored a run. Evan Cali picked up the win in relief for Taunton, tossing 3.1 scoreless innings with two hits and one walk allowed, striking out four. Tom Marcucella stayed hot offensively for the Warriors with a hit and two RBI while Cam Prescott went 2-for-2 with an RBI and a walk.

Franklin, 8 @ Oliver Ames, 0 – FinalHolding a 2-0 lead through three innings, Franklin tacked on two runs in each the fourth, fifth, and the seventh innings to leave Frothingham Park with an 8-0 win. Ethan Voellmicke (4.2 IP, two hit, no walks, five strikeouts) and James Kuczmiec combined for the shutout on the mound for the Panthers. Chris Goode (two hits) and Eisig Chin (three hits, three runs) each hit a triple in the win, Ryan Gerety added two hits, two RBI, and a run scored, and Luc Boudreau drove in a pair of runs and scored twice for the Panthers. Christian Papasodero allowed just two earned runs in five innings of work for the Tigers.

Mansfield, 8 @ Stoughton, 4 – FinalMansfield collected 11 hits as a team and took the lead with a four-run second inning and never looked back in a non-league win over Davenport foe Stoughton. The Black Knights scored first in the bottom of the first inning but the Hornets pushed across four runs in the top of the second and tacked on two runs in each the fifth and sixth innings. Anthony Sacchetti belted out three hits, knocking in one run and scoring twice while Eric Sullivan (double, RBI) and Jake Maydak each had a pair of hits in the win. Brandon Mantilla-Mercado (two RBI) and Kyle Doolin (two runs) each had a pair of hits for Stoughton.

Sharon, 0 @ King Philip, 2 – FinalThe first two batters King Philip sent to the plate earned walks and came around to score and that was enough offense for sophomore Rudy Gately, who tossed a complete game shutout. Nick Viscusi and Shawn Lagere earned back-to-back walks to lead off the bottom of the first and each scored and that was all of the scoring on the day. Gately allowed just four hits while striking out five to earn the win. Sharon freshman Luke Meixel allowed just two total hits in a complete game effort.










Softball
North Attleboro, 1 @ Attleboro, 3 – FinalAttleboro erased a one-run deficit and took a lead all in one play in the fifth inning and that was enough for the Bombardiers to keep the Blue-Red Cup. In the bottom of the fifth, Kayla Goldrick and Lindsey Perry both reached after being hit by a pitch and freshman Rylie Camacho connected for a base hit to right field to bring Goldrick home to tie the game. Perry came around to score on an errant throw, which allowed Camacho to reach third. Camacho then came home after an another throw got away, putting the hosts ahead 3-1. Perry tossed a complete game for the Bombardiers, retiring the last 12 batters she faced. She also had four strikeouts with five hits allowed. North took the lead on a solo home run from sophomore Kelly Colleran, who also pitched a strong game with sevens strikeouts and four hits allowed.

Foxboro, 0 @ Taunton, 16 – Final (5 inn.)Taunton senior Hanna Aldrich blasted two home runs and Kelsey White and Kylie Thorpe each one as the Tigers rolled to a win at home. Aldrich finished 3-for-4 with four RBI and two runs scored while Thorpe had three total hits, three runs scored and drove in six runs. White was nearly flawless in the circle with five shutout innings, striking out 14 of the 15 batters she faced.

Oliver Ames, 14 @ Franklin, 16 – FinalClick here for a photo gallery of this gameFranklin rallied from nine runs down to build a seven-run lead, but then had to hold on as OA stormed back and brought the go-ahead run to the plate in the seventh. It was all OA early. The Tigers took the lead in the first on an RBI single by Grace Simone and then extended the lead to 4-0 heading into the fourth. In the fourth, the Tigers scored five times to break the game open. Taylor Lake had a bases-clearing double and Caitlin Miller brought in a run with a single. Franklin got one back in the fourth, but it still looked like a comfortable advantage for the Tigers until the Panthers exploded for 15 runs in the bottom of the fifth. Molly Collins drove in five runs, including a bases loaded triple, in the inning and Lauren Cote had a couple of hits and three RBI during the rally. From 9-0 down, the Panthers now held a 16-9 lead. OA didn’t go quietly. In the top of the seventh, OA scored five times, including two more RBI for Lake and had runners at first and second with two outs. Gabby Colace was able to turn a grounder in the hole at short into a force at third to seal a wild win for the Panthers.

Stoughton, 11 @ Mansfield, 10 – Final (11 inn.)Stoughton scored three runs in the top of the 11th and held off a Mansfield rally in the bottom half to come out on top in a back-and-forth game at the East St. field. The Black Knights jumped ahead early, leading 6-0 heading into the bottom of the fourth. Junior Sydney Menz (four runs) homered to lead off the game, freshman Alyssa Edwards hit a home run to lead off the second and the Black Knights added four runs on four hits in the third. Mansfield stormed back with seven runs on six hits to grab the lead. Olivia Madeira led off the inning with a triple, and later singled in the same rally, followed by base hits from Jill Koppy, Casey Moussette, and Alanna Conley. Abby DeCoste also tripled in the inning. Stoughton would get the run back on a two-out single from Julia Driscoll, who stole second and scored on a fielding error to force extra innings. Menz hit her second home run in the top of the eighth to regain the lead, but the Hornets answered back to stay alive. With the tiebreaker in place, the visitors plated three runs in the top of the 11th to lead 11-8. Menz led off with a double and scored on a double from Driscoll, who scored herself on a sac fly from Mel Casna. Mansfield nearly managed to send the game to the 12th. Koppy, who had three hits on the day, tripled to score the runner from second and Moussette (two hits) singled to make it a one-run game. Ashlyn Conley’s infield single put runners at the corners with just one out, but Stoughton was able to escape the jam and snag the road win. Nicole Baker pitched a complete game for the Black Knights with 14 strikeouts.

Foxboro, 9 @ Oliver Ames, 2 – FinalWyatt Fritchman and Doug Oliveira scored for OA, sophomore Noah Isleib made 15 saves in net and Jack Magit played a great defensive game while making his first career start.

Milford, 8 @ Attleboro, 9 – Final

Sharon, 7 @ Canton, 10 – FinalCanton came from behind to pick up the league win, scoring the only two goals of the fourth quarter to seal the victory. Jenna Goldstein had three goals and an assist for Sharon, which led 4-2 after the first. Molly McAlevey had two goals and an assist and Athena Merck and Anna Hertzel each scored once for the Eagles. Tess Letendre had a big game in the loss, making 17 saves.

Oliver Ames, 4 @ Foxboro, 20 – FinalThe Warriors completed the season sweep of OA with another impressive offensive display. Seven different Foxboro players found the back of the net, led by Lilly Vey with five goals and an assist, and five players had at least four points. Ella Waryas scored four times and assisted on one and Mary Collins had three goals and three helpers. Kate Collins also scored three goals for the Warriors and recorded one assist, while Paige Curren added two goals and three assists. Val Beigel (two goals and an assist) and Mya Waryas (one goal and two assists) each totaled three points in the win. Maddie Maher came up with seven saves for Foxboro. For OA, Reese Pereira had a strong showing on the draw, Emma Sharkansky scored twice, and Emma O’Donnell had some great saves in net.



Boys Tennis
North Attleboro, 5 @ Attleboro, 0 – FinalNorth Attleboro picked up its sixth win of the season, earning a sweep over rival Attleboro. The Rocketeers dropped just one game in singles action and won both doubles matches in straight sets. Jonah Manso and Sam Gallagher both won 6-0, 6-0 at first and second singles, respectively, while junior Will Folan picked up a 6-1, 6-0 win at third singles. The team of seniors Connor Willis and Sayf Siddiq emerged with a 7-5, 7-6 (8-6) win in a hard fought match at first doubles while the team of senior Niteesh Saravanan and sophomore Brody Carter earned a 6-1, 6-2 win at second doubles.

Canton, 5 @ Milford, 0 – FinalCanton went on the road and picked up a win over Kelley-Rex division foe Milford. Suraj Ramanathan, Max Kupferman and Minh Duong swept singles action for the visiting Bulldogs. The team of Jalen Townsend and Charlie Doody battled to a 7-6, 6-4 win at first doubles while the team of Huy Hoy and Elias Jabbour earned a 6-1, 6-0 win at second doubles.

Foxboro, 5 @ Taunton, 0 – FinalFoxboro took all five matches in straights to record a 5-0 win on the road at Taunton. Junior Bo Canfield (third singles) and the team of senior Jason Kandula and freshman Justin Kandula (first doubles) each rolled to 6-0, 6-0 wins. Junior Garrett Spillane added a 6-2, 6-0 win at first singles, senior Justin Neale prevailed 6-1, 6-0 at second singles, and the team of senior David Marroquin and freshman Visruth Chavalam recored a 6-2, 6-3 win at second doubles.

Oliver Ames, 0 @ Franklin, 5 – Final Franklin took care of business in its crossover match with Oliver Ames, winning four matches in straight sets (a fifth match ended by default). Liam Marr rolled to a 6-0, 6-0 win at first singles, Vayshnav Malhotra picked up a 6-0, 6-1 decision at second singles, the team of Thomas Broyles sand Jay Gorgas added a 6-0, 6-1 win at first doubles, and juniors Tyler Fitzpatrick and Tim O’Keefe secured a 6-1, 6-1 win at second doubles.

Stoughton, 1 @ Mansfield, 4 – FinalMansfield won a pair of matches in both singles and doubles to knock off visiting Stoughton. Sophomore Benson Delaney was victorious 6-2, 6-4 at second singles while senior Kai Schirmacher picked up a 6-0, 6-4 win at third singles. The senior of seniors Nikhil Lankipalle and Adam Elsner earned a 6-2, 6-0 win at first doubles while Mansfield’s second doubles team of junior Jonah Fine and freshman Nikhil Nain walked away with a 6-1, 6-0 win. Stoughton senior Waseem Sablon continued to impress with a 6-1, 6-0 win at first singles.




Girls Tennis
Attleboro, 3 @ North Attleboro, 2 – FinalAttleboro’s pairing of freshmen Maddie Fulscado and Kyra Johnson overcame a one-set deficit on the road to prevail in three sets, giving the Bombardiers the clinching point in a win over rival North Attleboro. Fulscado and Johnson picked up a 1-6, 6-2, 6-3 win at second doubles while Attleboro’s first doubles team of Saharla Yusuf and Rachel Rainey won 7-5, 6-4. Attleboro also got a win from senior Lauren Anthony (6-3, 6-2) at second singles. North Attleboro freshman Lauren Hunt won 6-1, 6-3 at first singles while senior Haley Strom earned a 6-0, 6-2 win at third singles.

Milford, 0 @ Canton, 5 – FinalCanton defended home court by winning all five matches in straight sets against the visiting Hawks of Milford. Rachel Kupferman (6-0, 6-0), Laura Correal (6-1, 6-1), and Grace Powers (6-3, 6-4) swept singles in order, Lily Hazam and Olivia Durham didn’t drop a game in a 6-0, 6-0 win at first doubles and the pairing of Olivia Mahoney and Allie Wong picked up a 6-4, 6-2 decision at second doubles.

Taunton, 1 @ Foxboro, 4 – FinalFoxboro’s Maggie McAuliffe and Abby Costa picked up a win in straight sets while the Warriors swept all three singles matches in a win over Taunton. McAuliffe and Costa earned a 6-3, 6-3 win at first doubles while all three of Foxboro’s singles players (Athena Li, Pam Nelson, Sarah Prag) won 6-0, 6-0. Taunton’s Morgan Smith and Courtney Martin secured a 6-3, 6-4 win at second doubles.

Franklin, 1 @ Oliver Ames, 4 – FinalOliver Ames broke into the win column with a win over Franklin prevailing 4-1 in contest that featured five well-played and well-contested matches. OA’s Kate McCormick was victorious at first singles 6-2, 6-2 while Mae Holmes prevailed 7-6 (8-6), 0-6, 12-10 in a battle at third singles. OA’s double success continue as Caroline Peper and Morgan Vasiliou turned in a 6-1, 6-4 win at first doubles and the team of Marina Mierzwinski and Elizabeth O’Brien emerged with a 6-2, 7-6 (7-2) win at second doubles. Franklin’s Hailey Morin won 6-2, 6-2 at second singles.

Mansfield, 3 @ Stoughton, 2 – FinalFor Stoughton, senior co-captain Lena Allie rallied for a 3-6, 6-3, 7-5 win at second singles while senior co-captain Brooke Bulger won in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2, at third singles.

Milford, 2 @ Attleboro, 4 – FinalMilford senior Wes Solomon dazzled in a complete game effort to lead the Hawks to a win on the road, sweeping the season series with the Bombardiers. Solomon allowed two runs with just two walks issued, striking out nine for the win.

Sharon, 3 @ Canton, 1 – FinalSharon’s Dan Fishman and JD Rittenberg combined for a stellar pitching performance, allowing just one unearned run to help the Eagles split the season series with Canton. Fishman allowed just one hit in five innings of work with no earned runs allowed striking out two for the win. Rittenberg came in to close the door with two innings of work, striking out four. Offensively, Nate Yaffe had a pair of hits and scored a pair of runs, Dan Zagoren drove in a run, and Rittenberg drove in the other two for Sharon.

Foxboro, 2 @ Oliver Ames, 13 – FinalOliver Ames had its best offensive outing of the season, pushing across 13 runs to earn a win over Foxboro to split the season series. The Tigers scored two runs in each of the first three innings and then broke it open with a seven-run fourth inning. Jake Waxman was 2-for-3 including a home run, finishing with three RBI and two runs scored. Will Whiteside added a triple two RBI, and two runs, and Jack Morley found success from the nine-hole in his varsity debut with a hit, two walks, two stolen bases, and two runs scored. Matt Nigro earned the win on the mound, allowing just four hits and two walks in a five-inning complete game effort. He finished with just two runs allowed and six strikeouts. Tom Marcucella had two hits for Foxboro while Ryan LeClair and Sean Yoest each had an RBI.

Franklin, 13 @ King Philip, 8 – FinalFranklin’s offense stayed scorching hot to start the season, pushing across double-digit runs for the third straight game and fourth in the last five contests. Ryan Gerety (triple, three runs, RBI) and Nate Goode (double, triple, two RBI, three runs) spearheaded the attack with three hits apiece while Chris Goode (triple, two RBI, run), Jake Fitzgibbons (three RBI, double), and Jack Marino (two runs, two RBI) each had two hits. Jacob Jette got the win on the mound, allowing four runs while striking out seven.

Taunton, 5 @ Mansfield, 3 – FinalTaunton went on the road and grabbed their second straight win over the Hornets, clinching the series against their division rival. Senior Danny MacDougall earned the win on the mound, allowing three runs (one earned) on five hits and two walks while striking out six. Shawn Cali came in for a scoreless inning of relief for the save. Offensively, Taunton put up two runs in the top of the first inning only for Mansfield to respond with two runs of its own. The Tigers went back ahead for good with three in the top of the third inning. Ty Cali drove in a pair of runs and scored twice, MacDougall helped his own cause with an RBI and a run scored, and Evan Cali had an RBI and two walks. Mansfield senior Ben Mintz went 2-for-3 with two RBI while Anthony Sacchetti also had an RBI. Freshman Jake Maydak had a strong relief appearance for the hosts, allowing just one hit and five walks, striking out five in five innings of work.

Stoughton, 0 @ North Attleboro, 8 – FinalNorth Attleboro knocked off Stoughton at Community Field to split the season series. Dennis Colleran continued to impress, picking up his third win of the season after a complete game effort with just two hits allowed. Retiring the side in order in each the third and the seventh, Colleran finished with 11 strikeouts. Offensively, the Big Red got a big boost from sophomore Derek Maceda, who had two hits and two RBI. Danny Curran added two hits while Gavin Wells and Justin Vecchiarelli each drove in a run.










Softball
Attleboro, 12 @ Milford, 0 – FinalThe Bombardiers collected 20 hits as a team and Lora Woyton had her second straight strong performance in the circle as Attleboro completed a sweep of Milford. Woyton allowed just three hits while striking out nine in the win. Hailey and Lindsey Perry each smacked a home run, combining for six hits and five runs. Gabby Bosh, Lauren Eby, and Woyton each added three hits while Kayla Goldrick had a pair of doubles.

Oliver Ames, 10 @ Foxboro, 5 – FinalOliver Ames’ offense roared to life with a nine-run second inning to break into the win column with a victory over Foxboro. Taylor Lake (1-for-2, run) and Katherine Farley (1-for-3, double, run) each had two RBI on the day and Maddie Homer scored two runs for OA. Lexi Galsband (2-for-5) and Madison Monteiro each had an RBI and a run scored in the second as well. Emma Varella pitched a complete game with four strikeouts for OA and helped her cause offensively by going 3-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI.

King Philip, 8 @ Franklin, 3 – Final King Philip got off to another strong start with a pair of runs in the first inning and went on to score in the third, fifth, and seventh to complete the sweep of Franklin. Charlotte Raymond had another stellar showing at the plate, going 4-for-4 with a double and a triple, knocking in one run and scoring three times. Sophomores Libby Walsh (home run, two RBI, two runs) and Sarah Cullen (two runs) each added two hits for the visitors while Meg Sherwood slapped a two-run triple and had a sacrifice fly to score a run. KP had a strong showing defensively behind pitcher Emma Sheehan.

Canton, 11 @ Sharon, 4 – FinalSharon led 4-1 heading to the top of the sixth, but the Bulldogs rallied with 10 runs over the final two innings to secure the win and the sweep of the Eagles. Taylor Reynolds had another big game at the plate, going 2-for-4 and driving in four runs. Steph Trendell also went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBI and Abby Chin made a great catch at a crucial time in the game to help the Bulldogs grab the win. Freshman Jess Wright allowed one run over five innings, earning the win in her first career appearance. Trinity Payne went 2-for-2 at the plate and also struck out four as the Sharon starter. Savannah Gray was 2-for-4 and drove in two of Sharon’s four runs.

Mansfield, 0 @ Taunton, 9 – FinalKelsey White continued her dominant season and Taunton recorded a fifth shutout in six games, having allowed only two runs so far this season. White allowed only one hit over seven innings, struck out 16, and walked none to pick up her fifth win. Angie Lynch (RBI, run) and Hanna Aldrich (RBI, two runs) each had a pair of hits for the Tigers and Callie Lake had the lone hit for the Hornets.

North Attleboro, 5 @ Stoughton, 1 – FinalNorth trailed 1-0 in the top of the sixth inning but tied the game when Kelly Colleran scored on a passed ball. In the seventh, the Rocketeers rallied with four runs to secure the win. Emma Bailey, Chloe Mearn, and Mandi Hanewich all singled to load the bases. Emily Nardelli plated the game-winning run with a sac fly and then Colleran’s base hit scored a second run. The throw to the plate got away and Hanewich and Colleran were able to come around and score as well to add important insurance runs. Zoey McDonough tossed a complete game with 10 strikeouts to pick up the win. Nardelli also made a couple of big plays in the field, being part of two double plays.




Boys Lacrosse
Oliver Ames, 4 @ King Philip, 17 – FinalFor Oliver Ames, Ross Carroll scored a pair of goals, Remi Creighton scored once and had an assist, and Dillon Cupples picked up his first career goal and played “a fantastic overall game” according to head coach Ben Devlin.

Girls Lacrosse
Oliver Ames, 4 @ King Philip, 7 – FinalClick here for a Photo Gallery from this game. Lily Brown scored four goals, two in each half, and the KP defense was on top of its game to pick up the home win and remain unbeaten this season. Peyton Mellman opened the scoring three minutes into the game and then Brown double KP’s advantage from a Morgan Cunningham assist. OA started to pile on the pressure in the second quarter but KP goalie Emily Campbell made a series of big saves to keep the Tigers off the board and preserve the 2-0 lead going into halftime. Emma Pereira took advantage of a quick self-start to get free and cut the lead to one in the third quarter. Brown and Cunningham scored back-to-back goals to push the KP lead out to three, but then Georgia Costello scored the first of her three goals on a free position in the final minute of the third. Emma O’Donnell had a strong quarter with a couple of big stops. Brown completed her hat trick with a bounced shot but then Costello matched it just 31 seconds later. Freshman Nicole McDonald went one on four on a transition and managed to pick the bottom corner and then Brown added another for a 7-3 lead. Costello scored on another free position with four minutes to go, but the Tigers got no closer.




Boys Tennis
Attleboro @ Milford, 3:45

Canton, 0 @ Sharon, 5 – FinalSharon senior Max Chen filled in at second singles and emerged with a hard-fought win as the Eagles completed a sweep of visiting Canton. Chen fought back from a one-set deficit to earn a 5-7, 7-6, 10-8 win. Sophomore Mehul Bhattacharyya secured a win at first singles while Matthew Lally moved to third singles and notched a 3-6, 6-0, 6-2 win. Sharon won both doubles matches in straight sets.

Oliver Ames, 1 @ Foxboro, 4 – Final – Foxboro completed its season sweep of Oliver Ames, this time taking a 4-1 decision at home. The Warriors won all three singles matches in straight sets with junior Garrett Spillane picking up a 7-6 (7-0), 6-1 win at first singles, senior Justin Neale recording a 6-0, 6-1 win at second singles, and junior Bo Canfield picking up a 6-2, 6-1 win at third singles. The team of seniors Jason Kandula and David Marroquin emerged with a 6-3, 6-1 win at first doubles for Foxboro while Oliver Ames freshmen duo Kahlil Bandran and Jiva Segaran won 6-1, 6-1 at second doubles.

Franklin, 5 @ King Philip 0 – Final

King Philip, 0 @ Franklin, 5 – FinalFranklin picked up two wins on the day, finishing up its match with KP that was postponed from Monday. The Panthers prevailed 5-0 in both matches, winning in straight sets in each match. Liam Marr won both of his matches at first singles (6-3, 6-3 & 6-1, 6-0), Vayshnav Malhotra won twice at second singles (6-1, 4-1 (def) & 6-0, 6-0), and Drew Mahoney took care of business at third singles (6-0, 6-2 & 6-1, 6-3). Franklin’s first doubles team of Anish Gundimeda and Sameen Shaik won both of their matches in straight sets (6-1, 6-2 & 6-4, 6-0) while the duo of Thomas Broyles and Jay Gorgas lost just one total game in its four sets played (6-0, 6-1 & 6-0, 6-0).

Stoughton, 1 @ North Attleboro, 3 – Final

North Attleboro, 4 @ Stoughton, 1 – FinalNorth Attleboro and Stoughton completed their weather-delayed match from Monday and then clashed again on the new courts at Stoughton, and the Rocketeers prevailed victorious in both. North had the same lineup in both matches and swept doubles in both matches. The team of Connor Willis and Sayf Siddiq won their first match 6-0, 6-4 and took the second one 6-2, 6-1 while North’s second doubles team of Brody Carter and Niteesh Saravanan earned a 6-2, 6-1 win on Monday and a 6-0, 6-1 victory on Tuesday. Ella Lynch-Bartek and Lauren Anthony each won 6-0, 6-0 at first and second singles, respectively. In doubles action, junior Saharla Yusuf and freshman Maddie Fulscado secured a 6-1, 6-3 win at first doubles while senior Lauren Alberto and junior Ally Rebelo prevailed with a 6-1, 6-0 win at second doubles. Milford’s Lavinia Mocenni rallied from a one-set deficit to earn a 4-6, 7-6 (7-4), 11-9 win at third singles.

Sharon, 4 @ Canton, 1 – FinalThe Eagles earned a clean sweep in singles action and swept the season series against division rival Canton. Nayva Shukla (6-1, 6-1), Hannah Faberman (6-1, 6-1), and Allie Aguilar (6-0, 6-0) won at first, second, and third singles, respectively, while the team of Sree Dandu and Sasha Fein picked up a 6-1, 6-1 win at second doubles. Canton’s Lily Hazam and Olivia Durham emerged with a 6-4, 4-6, 10-4 win at first doubles.

Foxboro, 3 @ Oliver Ames, 2 – FinalFoxboro singles players continued their dominance over their opponents, this time sweeping all three matches against Oliver Ames to pick up a 3-2 win. Athena Li and Pam Nelson each won 6-0, 6-0 at first and second singles, respectively, while Sarah Prag picked up a 6-0, 6-1 win at third singles. OA’s first doubles team of Caroline Peper and Morgan Vasilou earned a 6-0, 6-3 win at first doubles while Lizzie MacAdam and Elizabeth O’Brien teamed up for a 6-3, 6-4 win at second doubles for the Tigers.

Taunton, 1 @ Mansfield, 4 – FinalMansfield won a pair of matches in three sets and that ended up the difference as the Hornets beat visiting Taunton. Aryanna Khosravini rallied for 3-6, 6-4, 7-5 win at second singles while the team of Ally McDavitt and Caroline Guravage bounced back from a one-set deficit to earn a 3-6, 6-3, 6-1 win at second doubles. Mansfield also got wins from Kate Martin (6-2, 6-0) at third singles and Sarah Harrington and Alexis O’Keefe (6-2, 6-3) at first singles. Taunton’s Jocelyn Pagliuca earned a 6-3, 6-2 win at first singles for the Tigers.

Stoughton, 1 @ North Attleboro, 4 – FinalNorth Attleboro bounced back from a loss on the road on Monday to pick up a 4-1 win over the visiting Black Knights on Tuesday. The Big Red won two matches in singles action and swept both doubles matches to get the win. Haley Strom secured a 6-1, 6-1 win at second singles while Lauren Hunt didn’t drop a game in a 6-0, 6-0 win at third singles. The team of juniors Lauren Consentino and Kyna Sha rallied from a one-set deficit to win 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 at first doubles while junior Julia Curren and freshman Aroushka Banerjee won 7-5, 6-3 at second doubles. Stoughton’s Allie Lada picked up a 6-4, 6-1 win at first singles.

Sharon, 73 @ Canton, 62 – Final For Canton, Kyle Downing had a trio top three finishes, including a win in the 1 Mile race, while Sam Vail finished first in the javelin (99’1″). Downing crossed the finish line at 4:56.8 to win the mile, took second overall in the 800M (2:14.8), and was third in the high jump (5’0).

Taunton, 3 vs. North Quincy, 2 – FinalTaunton completed a big come-from-behind win to knock off North Quincy in five sets and stay unbeaten on the year. Colin MacDougal and Faisal Mass stepped up to provide pivotal front row defense down the stretch to help secure the win. Tyler Stewart was hard to stop with 28 kills, 15 digs, four blocks, and four assists, Jakob Thorpe added eight kills, 11 digs, and four aces, and Mattia Casagrande chipped in with 11 kills. Travis Nunes played well defensively with 10 digs while Daniel Medina finished with 46 assists and seven digs.

Cameron Birnbaum (126), Aaron Cashton (145), Philip Varvak (170), Alex Danilkovas (195) and Erik Rabin (285) all recorded pinfall victories for the Eagles while Connor Pfeifer (120, 12-4), Nasaiah Teixeira (152, 6-5), and Cormac Horlbogen (182, 3-2) each won by decision. Sharon, 3 @ Canton, 5 – FinalCanton got off to a strong start offensively and held off a late rally attempt from Sharon to get the win and stay unbeaten on the year. The Bulldogs pushed across two runs in the first inning and tacked on single runs in the second and third to establish a 4-0 lead. Sharon rallied for three runs in the top of the sixth to make it a one-run game but Canton gave itself some breathing room with a run in the bottom of the sixth. Cam Sanchez (RBI), Matt Chafin (two runs), and Steven Burbank (RBI, run) each recorded two hits for the hosts, who had 10 hits as a team. Andrew Middleton picked up his third win of the season, allowing three runs on five hits and three walks, striking out eight in six innings of work. Andrew Butler recorded the save with a scoreless inning in relief. Sharon’s Colby Lentell drove in two runs for the Eagles while Justin Brown and Daniel Zagoren each had one RBI.

Oliver Ames, 5 @ Foxboro, 7 – Final Foxboro took advantage of free bases and aggressive base running to jump out to an early lead and held on the rest of the way. The Warriors drew four walks in the opening inning and had five stolen bases, resulting in a 6-1 lead after an inning of action. Oliver Ames was able to close the gap with two in the third and one more in the fourth, but Foxboro scored an important insurance run in the sixth inning. Tom Marcucella (run, two RBI) and Sean Yoest (run, RBI) each had two hits for the Warriors while Sean O’Leary (run), Liam Mulkern, and Mike O’Toole each drove in a run. Cam Prescott got the win on the mound, allowing four runs (one earned) on five hits and two walks, striking out five in five innings of work. Senior Sebastian Ortiz closed it out, allowing one run on two hits and two walks, striking out a pair in two innings. Oliver Ames’ Jaden Ricci went 3-for-4 with a pair of runs scored while Patrick Finnerty and Nate Fulford each drove in a pair of runs for OA.

King Philip, 0 @ Franklin, 10 – Final (5 inn.)For the fourth time in just five games, Franklin’s offense put up double-digit runs and the Panthers recorded their second straight shutout, this time a 10-0 decision over King Philip. Sophomore Alfred Mucciarone tossed five shutout innings for the win, allowing just two hits and one walk while striking out six. Offensively, Ryan Gerety had a pair of hits including a double, scoring twice while Jake Fitzgibbons added an RBI on two hits. Ben Jarosz had three hits on the day with a run scored and an RBI, Nate Cooke scored once and had an RBI, and Henry DiGiorgio had a hit, a walk, and scored twice.

Mansfield, 2 @ Taunton, 8 – FinalTaunton had a strong day at the plate, scoring in five of the seven innings to knock off visiting Mansfield for a key division win. The Tigers plated two runs in the first inning and added two more in each the third and fourth, tacking on single runs in the fifth and sixth. Ty Cali set the tone for the Tigers’ offense, scoring three runs on two hits (including a triple) and driving in one run from the leadoff spot. Ryan MacDougall, Danny MacDougall (two runs), and Bretton Heggs each added a hit and an RBI while Dawson Bryce drove in a pair of runs and scored once. On the mound, Conor Quinlan got the win, allowing just one unearned run on five hits and one walk, recording six strikeouts in five innings. Evan Cali pitched two innings in relief, allowing one run with one strikeout.

North Attleboro, 4 @ Stoughton, 7 – FinalStoughton senior Brady Conlin got it done both at the plate and on the mound as Stoughton rallied for an important division win over rival North Attleboro. North Attleboro’s Gavin Wells had a two-out two-run single in the top of the fifth inning to put the Rocketeers up 4-1 but Stoughton answered with a big sixth inning to take their first lead, an advantage they wouldn’t relinquish. Conlin tossed a complete game, striking out five with two walks. Conlin also had a solo home run to left in the bottom of the fourth that got Stoughton on the board. In the sixth, Colin Alessi singled in the tying run while Kyle Doolin drove in two more with a double.










Softball
Milford, 0 @ Attleboro, 12 – FinalAttleboro senior Lora Woyton fired a two-hitter to earn her second win of the season in the circle, leading the Bombardiers past visiting Milford. Woyton struck out eight in five innings of work and helped her own cause offensively, going 1-for-1 with two walks and two runs scored.The Bombardiers used strong team defense behind Woyton to limit the Hawks’ chances. Hailey Perry and Natalie Mansur each had two hits and scored a run while Kayla Goldrick added two hits for Attleboro, who had everyone in the lineup score.

Foxboro, 7 @ Oliver Ames, 3 – FinalFor Oliver Ames, Taylor Lake had an RBI single that scored Mollie Crabtree while Grace Simone, who had two hits on the day, had a two-run double that scored Maddie Homer and Emma Varella. Katie Melendy pitched a complete game, striking out four for OA.

Franklin, 5 @ King Philip, 8 – FinalAfter Franklin took the lead in the top of the first inning, King Philip tied the game in the bottom half and then built a lead with runs in the third, fifth, and sixth innings to knock off the visiting Panthers. Tied 2-2 through an inning, KP took the lead with a run in the third, extended their advantage with two in the fifth, and added three more in the sixth. Franklin rallied for three runs in the top of the seventh but KP shut the door to stay unbeaten. Charlotte Raymond had a big day for KP, going 3-for-3 at the plate, including a two-run home run. She finished with three RBI and three runs scored, reaching a fourth time after being hit by a pitch. Paige Berdos added two hits, a run, and an RBI while sophomore Sarah Cullen blasted a two-run home run.

Sharon, 4 @ Canton, 7 – FinalGillian Gordon earned her first career win and gave Canton its first win of the season. Gordon struck out six over seven innings of work. Taylor Reynolds was 3-for-3 with three doubles and a pair of RBI, while Ellie Bohane and Liz Bickett both went 3-for-4 for the Bulldogs. Olivia Mackwell started the scoring for Canton by driving in a pair in the fourth.

Taunton, 12 @ Mansfield, 0 – Final (5 inn.)Taunton held Mansfield to two hits to earn its fourth shutout in five games this season. It was scoreless until the third inning when Taunton scored five times to take control. The Tigers added seven runs in the top of the fifth to grab the win. Taunton leadoff hitter Angie Lynch set the tone with three hits and two runs while Hannah Aldrich drove in for runs on three hits, including a home run. Skylar Rheaume, McKenzie McAloon, Kelsey White, and Tayah DaCosta each drove in a run for the Tigers. Freshman Sam Lincoln earned the win in the circle, allowing just two hits in a five-inning complete game effort, striking out 10. Jillian Koppy and Molly Kucharski had Mansfield’s only hits.

Stoughton, 0 @ North Attleboro, 12 – FinalNorth got its fourth straight solid start, as Kelly Colleran struck out 12 and allowed only two hits and two walks to earn the shutout. The Rocketeers haven’t allowed more than one run in a game since giving up 11 in the season opener. Colleran helped her own cause with a pair of hits, including a solo homer. Emily Nardelli led the North offense with three hits, including a double and a three-run homer, and drove in four. Zoey McDonough and Shaelyn Burns both had two hits and two RBI and Mandi Hanewich had a couple of nice catches in the outfield.

North Attleboro, 4 @ Franklin, 20 – FinalFranklin moved to 4-0 on the season with a big win over visiting North Attleboro. Matt Lazzaro led the offensive charge with three goals and two helpers while sophomores Jayden Consigli and Luke Davis each recorded four goals apiece. Jack Maguire made six saves in net for the win.

Sharon, 12 @ Mansfield, 10 – FinalBen Shocket won 19-of-25 faceoffs and six different Eagles found the back of the net in a win on the road over Mansfield. Brady Daylor led the way offensively for the visitors with five goals, Drew Litner and Kobe Jacobson each scored twice, and Bobby Burns, Connor McLoughlin, and Shocket each scored once in the win. Adam Rabb had a strong showing in net with 17 saves.

Mya Waryas (two assists) and Lilly Vey (one assist) were the top scorers with three goals apiece. Ella Waryas (two assists), Mary Collins, Kate Collins, Val Beigel, and Paige Curran each scored two goals, as the Warriors worked the ball around and made sure everyone got a touch. Dylan Rappoli had a goal and three assists and Grace Riley added one goal for Foxboro. Hannah Webster scored for Attleboro in the fourth quarter to avoid the shutout and Maggie Porreca made five saves in goal.

Canton, 8 @ Taunton, 17 – FinalTaunton senior Alana Tavares had 10 draw controls and scored nine goals to help the Tigers defend their home turf against visiting Canton. Tasia Lajoie added four controls and six goals in the win while Rosemary McGrath had three draw controls and three assists in the win. Senior Tori DaRosa and junior Sarah Clark each netted one goal, freshman Cali Melo added an assist, and junior Emily Gannon added 13 saves in the win.

North Attleboro, 2 @ Franklin, 20 – FinalKenzie Baker did it all for the Panthers with five draw controls, two goals, and two assists as Franklin rolled to a win at home. Stella Regan added four draw controls and three goals, Katie Jones chipped in with three goals and an assist, and Payten Crandall (two ground balls) played well defensively.

Canton freshman Max Kupferman earned a 6-4, 6-4 win in a well-played second singles matchup.

Stuger won both the 400M (61.6) and the 200M (26.6) for the Bombardiers, who also got first-place finishes from Diana Blouin (1 Mile, 5:37.6), Kelly Neuendorf (2 Mile, 12:16.0), Elayna Marinelli (javelin, 78-7), Samantha Fregault (discus, 72-1), and Kamsi Igbobi (shot put, 34-5).

Taunton, 3 vs. Barnstable, 1 – FinalTaunton won its fourth straight match to open the season, this time a 3-1 decision (25-17, 25-16, 20-25, 25-14) over visiting Barnstable. Daniel Medina set the offense in motion with 34 assists, adding two kills in while Tyler Stewart had an impressive showing with 19 kills, five blocks, and 13 digs in the win. Travis Nunes played well defensively and in serve receive for the Tigers, Mattia Casagrande added six kills and seven aces, and Jakob Thorpe chipped in seven kills and four aces.

Sawyer Julier-Albert clubbed three hits, including a double and a triple, with three RBI and two runs scored while Nico Bonnano had one RBI and one run scored on three hits to pace the Bulldogs’ offense, which totaled 13 hits. Steven Burbank and Matt Quan both drove in a pair of runs with two hits apiece, scoring once in the win. Taunton junior Dawson Bryce had a team-high three hits, driving in two runs and scoring twice.

Luke Urban added two hits in the win. Mansfield senior Ben Mintz earned the win in relief, tossing 4.1 scoreless innings with just one two hits and one walked allowed, striking out three. Stoughton, 10 @ Milford, 4 – FinalStoughton’s offense set the tone early with four runs in the top of the first and pulled away with three more in the fifth and two in the top of the sixth to secure a win on the road at Fino Field. Offensively, Brandon Mantilla-Mercado led the way going 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI for the Black Knights, Kyle Doolin added two hits with two runs and two RBI, and Brady Conlin scored twice on a pair of walks. Doolin pitched into the sixth inning to earn the win, allowing three earned runes on six hits and four walks, striking out six. Jonah Ly tossed 1.1 innings of scoreless relief to close the door.

Attleboro, 6 @ Foxboro, 3 – Final

Franklin, 1 @ North Attleboro, 13 – Final (6 Inn.)Zoey McDonough had her second strong start of the season, picking up the win with six strikeouts and just one walk over six innings. McDonough also showed resilience by pitching well with runners on base. Kelly Colleran continued to dominate at the plate with another three hits (her fourth straight game with at least three hits to start her varsity career). She was 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBI. Ally Levine also went 3-for-4 with a double and drove in four runs. Emily Nardelli had a pair of hits and made a nice running catch in shallow right field. Belle Clarkin and Chloe Mearn both has strong games defensively at the corners. Julia Forman capped the game with a deep drive that scored Maddie Bailey.

Taunton, 21 @ Canton, 0 – Final (5 Inn.)Taunton continued its perfect start to the season and recorded its third shutout in four games. After plating one in the top of the first, the Tigers exploded for 10 runs in the second inning to break the game open, added four more in the third, and then six in the fourth. Taunton pounded out 23 hits as a team. Kyleah Plumb went 3-for-4, scored twice, and drove in three runs, Hanna Aldrich went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI, Kelsey White went 3-for-3 with a homer, four RBI, and three runs scored, Tayah DaCosta was 3-for-4 with two RBI, two doubles, and four runs scored, and Hayley Krockta went 3-for-3 with four RBI and three runs scored. White also got the start in the circle, allowing one hit and striking out nine in three innings. Olivia Mendonca pitched the final two innings for Taunton. Sarah Kelly and Taylor Reynolds had Canton’s two hits in the loss.

Mansfield, 11 @ Sharon, 1 – FinalMansfield bounced back after a pair of losses and got back to .500 on the season with the road win. The Hornets didn’t get going until the fourth inning when they took advantage of three hits and aggressive base running to score three runs. Mansfield added five runs on five hits in the fourth and then tacked on three more in the sixth. Casey Moussette went 3-for-4 and Olivia Madeira and Callie Lake both had a pair of hits, including a triple apiece. Lake also had an outfield assist, throwing a runner out at the plate from center field in the third inning. Alanna Conley, Ashlyn Conley, Nicole Kobasa, Molly Kucharski, and Liv DeTrolio each had a hit for the Hornets. Trinity Payne started for Sharon and struck out eight, while also scoring the lone run for the Eagles. Ally Foulsham went 3-for-4 in the loss.

King Philip, 18 @ Oliver Ames, 1 – FinalKing Philip continued its torrid start to the season under new head coach Kate Fallon, earning its fourth win in a row to begin the 2021 campaign. The Warriors clubbed 22 hits as a team with Sarah Cullen (three RBI, triple, two runs), Maddie Paschke (two runs), and Meg Sherwood (two runs) each collecting three hits on the day. Sophomore Libby Walsh drove in four runs on two hits, including a home run, and Jordan Bennett knocked in three runs on two hits, including a triple. Caitlin Miller blasted a fifth-inning home run for the Tigers while Katherine Farley and Emma Varella each had a hit for OA.




Boys Lacrosse
North Attleboro, 10 @ Oliver Ames, 6 – Final North Attleboro earned a season sweep over division foe Oliver Ames with a 10-6 win on the road. For the Tigers, sophomore goalie Noah Isleib made 21 saves, Ross Carroll found the back of the net four times, and Remi Creighton had two assists and one goal.

Girls Lacrosse
Oliver Ames, 4 @ North Attleboro, 9 – FinalAfter letting the lead slip away in the final minute on the road, North Attleboro bounced back with a big defensive performance to knock off OA and split the season series. OA head coach Gen Rogan praised the effort of goalie Emma O’Donnell in the second half as well as the defensive unit of Emilee Nuss, Lili Lozano, and Taylor McAndrew.

Foxboro, 16 @ Sharon, 3 – FinalSophomore Paige Curran scored six goals and assisted on another to lead the Warriors to a second straight win over division rival Sharon. Ella Waryas added a hat trick and Lilly Vey scored twice and had an assist, while Maddie Maher made five saves in the win. Jenna Goldstein had a pair of goals and Molly McAlevey had the other for the Eagles, who got nine saves from goalie Tess Letendre.

Attleboro, 1 @ Foxboro, 4 – FinalFoxboro swept all three singles matches in straight sets and picked up another win in doubles action to break into the win column for the 2021 campaign. Garrett Spillane picked up a 6-0, 6-1 win at first singles, Justin Neale didn’t drop a game in a 6-0, 6-0 win at second singles, and Jason Kandula earned a 6-1, 6-0 win at third singles. The team of Bo Canfield and Justin Kandula emerged with a 6-4, 6-2 win at first doubles for Foxboro. Attleboro’s Alejandro Jimenez and Tyler Rocchio won 6-0, 6-3 at second doubles.

Taunton, 0 @ Canton, 5 – FinalCanton defended home court with a sweep over visiting Taunton to move to 4-0 on the season. Junior Suraj Ramanathan, freshman Max Kupferman, and senior Minh Duong all won in singles action for the Bulldogs. Sophomores Jorge Nebril Gayubo and Jad Antoun emerged with a victory at first doubles in a third set tie-breaker while junior Kevin Moltenbrey and sophomore Davis Lamb won at second doubles.

Liam Marr impressed in a 6-1, 6-1 win at first singles while juniors Vayshnav Malhotra and Drew Mahoney came away with wins after a third-set tiebreaker. Malhotra battled back to win 3-6, 6-1, 10-4 while Mahoney also came back from a first-set deficit with a 2-6, 6-2, 11-9 win. Senior Anish Gundimeda and junior Sameen Shaik prevailed with a 6-3, 6-4 win at first doubles while junior Thomas Broyles and freshman Jay Gorgas had a strong showing in a 6-0, 6-0 win at second doubles.

Maggie McAuliffe and Abby Costa added another win for the Warriors with a 6-0, 5-7, 6-0 decision at first doubles. Attleboro’s Emma Pion and Olivia Meier emerged with a 7-5, 6-2 win at second doubles.

Canton, 3 @ Taunton, 2 – FinalCanton’s Laura Correal prevailed with a three-set win at second doubles to help the Bulldogs pick up a win on the road. Correal secured a 6-2, 0-6, 6-2 win for the deciding point, Rachel Kupferman (first singles, 6-0, 6-0) and the first doubles team of Lily Hazam and Olivia Durham (7-5, 6-3) also picked up wins for the visitors. Jake Wall, who won four events, won the long jump at 22’9” with Xavier Manuel (19’2”) taking second and Dylan Buchanan (18’10”). The Hornets also swept the triple jump (Wall – 42’7.75”; Dana Johnson – 38’6.25”; Manuel – 36’10.25”) and the 110M hurdles (Buchanan – 16.3, Evan Rawlings – 18.4; Ryan Munroe – 18.5). In the 2 Mile race, Riley Tremblay crossed first in 10:42.8 with Tim Corkery (10:52.7) taking second while Jack Taylor (137’) and Stephen Saba (118’2”) took first and second, respectively, in the javelin. Wall added wins in the 100M (11.) and the 200M (22.6) while the Hornets also picked up wins from Caden Riley (52.5 – 400M), Aengus McGill (92’7” – discus), Charles Newcomb (39’8” – shot put) and the 4×100 relay team (DaSean Peters-Wolfe, Isaiah Kinds, Munroe, Buchanan – 45.4).

Franklin, 60 @ Mansfield, 76 – FinalMansfield senior Tessa Lancaster won a pair of distance events and freshman Norah Puleo took first in one race while anchoring the final leg of a winning relay team as Mansfield beat Attleboro. Lancaster took first in both the 1 Mile (5:40.4) and the 2 Mile (12:36) while Puleo finished strong to earn first — and a PR — in the 800M (2:27.3). Puleo ran the final leg of Mansfield’s 4×400 relay team, joining Anna Darlington, Caitlin Dumouchel, and Rosie McIntyre to win in 4:14.3. Mansfield’s 4×100 relay team of Abigail Scott, Meghan Driscoll, Erika Penney, and Colleen Waters won in 50.8.

Senior Jake Gorman, junior Evan Houle, and sophomore Owen Taber each had two hits for the Bombardiers while senior Bailey Camacho drove in a pair of runs. Junior Billy Saltmarsh picked up the win with five strong innings of work on the mound while sophomore Danny Johnson pitched well in two innings of relief.

Canton, 6 @ Stoughton, 0 – FinalCanton junior Andrew Middleton dazzled on the mound for the second straight start, tossing his second straight shutout. After a perfect game in his first start, Middleton allowed just one hit — a bunt — in a complete-game effort, striking out 16 for the second straight contest. He walked just two batters while throwing 65 of his 94 pitches for strikes. Offensively, senior Cam Sanchez set the tone from the leadoff spot with three hits, two runs scored and an RBI, sophomore Matt Chafin drove in two runs on two hits, and Steven Burbank and Middleton each had an RBI.

Foxboro, 4 @ Sharon, 1 – FinalFoxboro got the bats going early with three runs in the second inning and Dylan Quinn was solid on the mound from start to finish as the Warriors picked up their first win of the season. Quinn allowed one run on three hits and two walks, striking out two in five innings of work. Sophomore Sean O’Leary pitched two scoreless innings in relief with one strikeout for the save. Sophomore Ryan LeClair (run) and junior Jack Watts (run) each had a pair of hits for Foxboro, which totaled 10 as a team. Liam Mulkern and Quinn reach drove in a run in the win.

Franklin, 4 @ Milford, 2 – FinalAfter Milford tied the game with a run in the bottom half of the sixth, Franklin regained the lead with two runs in the top of the seventh to sweep the series with the Hawks. Jacob Jette’s pinch-hit RBI single drove in Jack Marino for what proved to be the game-winning run, and Jette scored the insurance run on contact from Ryan Gerety. Ethan Voellmicke picked up the win in a relief appearance, tossing two innings with three strikeouts while James Kuczmiec earned the save, stranding the tying run at first. Jake Fitzgibbons was the starter for the Panthers, allowing one run on three hits in four innings of work with three strikeouts. Nate Cooke added a hit, a walk, and two RBI for the Panthers. For Milford, Wes Solomon tossed a complete game with four runs allowed (three earned) on four hits, striking out two while Mario Lee had a hit and a run scored.

King Philip, 5 @ Mansfield, 6 – FinalKing Philip rallied to erase a five-run deficit but Mansfield jumped back ahead with the winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning. Senior Chris Potts drew a bases-loaded walk to push across the go-ahead run as Mansfield moved to 2-0 on the season. The Hornets plated four runs in the top of the first and added one more in the second but KP responded with two in the third and three in the fifth to tie the game. Potts’ walk was one of nine drawn by the Hornets on the day, who had just five hits total. Juniors Anthony Sacchetti and Aaron Blinn each had a hit and an RBI for Mansfield. Freshman Jake Maydak earned the win in relief, striking out three with just one walk allowed in 2.1 scoreless innings of work. For KP, Shawn Legere went 3-for-3 with a walk, an RBI, and two runs scored, and Conor Cooke recorded a pair of hits, runs, and RBI.

Oliver Ames, 8 @ North Attleboro, 6 – FinalOliver Ames rallied from a four-run deficit, scoring four runs in the top of the sixth inning to secure a win on the road against North Attleboro. Jadon Ricci had the big two-run hit in the sixth and added a run himself on a passed ball. Jake Waxman added a hit and an RBI and Derek Milliken had two hits, including a double, and an RBI to pace the Tigers’ offense. Kosta Spiliakos pitched five innings for OA with two strikeouts and two walks while Nick Clark threw two innings of hitless relief, striking out the last four batters to earn the save.

Hanna Aldrich hit a pair of homers and drive in five runs and freshman Sam Lincoln struck out 10 over five innings to earn a win in her first career start, as Taunton swept its home-and-home series with Attleboro. Taunton wasted little time getting its offense into gear. Angie Lynch and Kyleah Plumb had back-to-back singles and then Aldrich drilled a homer to left center. Although one of the runners was ruled out for not touching third, Taunton got its third run when McKenzie McAloon crushed a solo homer to left field. The Tigers added one in the fourth when Hayley Krockta’s base hit skipped past the left fielder and she came all the way around to make it 4-0. The floodgates opened in the fifth, as Taunton scored six times on four hits and a couple of costly Attleboro miscues in the field. Aldrich and Kelsey White each plated a run with singles and Skyler Rheaume drove in one with a sac fly. Taunton scored five unearned runs off Attleboro starter Lindsey Perry in the game. Lincoln dominated the first five innings, allowing only three base runners, two hits, and one ball out of the infield (a single to right by Rylie Camacho). Lincoln struck out the side in both the third and fourth innings. Aldrich tacked on two more with her second homer of the day in the sixth and White scored on a passed ball to end the scoring. White, who struck out 16 on Monday, came in to pitch in the sixth and struck out the side to seal the win.

Sharon, 1 @ Foxboro, 11 – FinalFoxboro eighth-grader Emma Callahan continued to shine during his debut season, getting it done both in the circle and at the plate. Callahan allowed just one hit while striking out 12 in the win. At the plate, she helped her own cause with three hits. Sophomore Ally Foulsham made her pitching debut for the Eagles and struck out five. Trinity Payne accounted for the lone Sharon run with a solo homer.

Milford, 9 @ Franklin, 11 – FinalFranklin prevailed with an 11-9 win in a back-and-forth battle with visiting Franklin to present head coach Katie Holbrook with her first career win. In an offensive battle, senior Gabby Colace clubbed out four hits and scored four runs, driving in three runs and junior Julia White added three hits with two RBI. Senior Lauren Cote (two doubles, two RBI) and freshman Carly Johnson-Pellegri (two doubles, two runs) each added two hits in the win. Milford’s Carly Ferreira went 4-for-5 with a home run, a double, three runs, and RBI, Elise Fauerbach went 5-for-5 with two runs, and freshman Maddie Burns had four hits, two RBI, and a run scored.

Mansfield, 0 @ King Philip, 17 – Final (5 inn.) – King Philip’s offense continued its hot start to the season, this time putting up 17 runs at PAL in a win over visiting Mansfield. Charlotte Raymond clubbed four doubles for the Warriors, driving in three runs and crossing home three times as well. Sophomore Libby Walsh added three hits, including a double and a triple, while knocking in four runs, and sophomore Sarah Cullen went 3-for-3, reaching a fourth time after being hit by a pitch, and had a home run, a double, and a single with three RBI. Jordan Bennett, who had two doubles at the plate, tossed a five-inning shutout, allowing two hits while striking out six.

Stoughton, 9 @ Canton, 4 – FinalStoughton sophomore Kerry Driscoll earned her first career win as the Black Knights earned a season sweep of rival Canton. Driscoll threw four innings with one run allowed on four hits and four strikeouts. Nicole Baker came in for three innings of relief for Stoughton. Offensively, freshman Julie Powers led the charge with three hits, including a double and a triple, with two RBI and two runs scored. Mel Casna and Alyssa Edwards each drove in a pair of runs for Stoughton, Sarah McGrath added two hits, and Sydney Menz and Catherine Leal (RBI) each had a hit in the win. Liz Bickett went 4-for-4 and Ellie Bohane went 2-for-3 with a double for the Bulldogs.

Allie Lada emerged with a three-set win at second singles (6-0, 3-6, 6-4) to secure the winning point for the Black Knights. Lena Allie added a 6-3, 6-2 win at third singles, and the team of Nadia Prokopiuk and Stefani Reznikow picked up a 6-2, 6-1 win at second doubles. Canton’s Rachel Kupferman won 6-0, 6-0 at first singles while Lily Hazam and Olivia Durham teamed up for a 6-0, 6-0 win at first doubles.

Foxboro, 3 @ Sharon, 2 – Final For the second straight day, Foxboro won at all three singles matches to get a victory over Sharon. Freshman Athena Li won 6-1, 6-0 at first singles, Pam Nelson earned a 6-1, 6-1 win at second singles, and Sarah Prag once again won a close set at third singles, this time 7-6 (7-3), 6-3 to help the Warriors earn the victory. The team of Anjali Jha and Julia Zevelinsky emerged with a 7-6 (7-3), 1-6, 6-1 win at first doubles while Alice Zaniewski and Sophia Oh picked up a 6-0, 6-2 win at second doubles.

Kiara Cerruti set a pair of new PRs in the win, taking first in the 1 Mile (5:46.9) and second in the 800M (2:36.2).

Taunton, 5 @ Attleboro, 3 – Final (9 Inn.)Senior Ty Cali drove in a pair of runs for the Tigers, including the game-winning run in the top of the ninth as Taunton moved to 2-0 on the season. Tied 2-2 through seven innings, the teams traded runs in the eighth inning before Taunton was able to keep the lead for good in the ninth. Cali tripled in the go-ahead run and then came in to score an insurance run on a single from Braden Sullivan (2-for-3, walk). Danny MacDougall struck out six in 4.1 innings of work, allowing five hits and four walks with just one earned allowed. Sophomore Ryan MacDougall earned his first career win in a relief appearance, striking out one in two innings of work with no earned runs allowed.

Stoughton, 7 @ Canton, 9 – FinalCanton scored all of its runs between two innings, including a five-run sixth inning to erase a three-run deficit and earn a win. Stoughton claimed a 1-0 lead in the top of the first but the Bulldogs battled back with four in the bottom half to jump ahead. Stoughton added three runs in the third, two more in the fourth, and one in the sixth to stake a 7-4 lead but the Bulldogs answered once again to retake the lead. Sawyer Julier-Albert (two runs, walk, RBI) and Andrew Middleton (run, two RBI) each had two hits for Canton, who totaled nine as a team. Steven Burbank and Zach Peters also drove in a run in the win. Matt Quan picked up the win in relief, allowing one run with one strikeout and two hits allowed in 3.2 innings of work. For Stoughton, Brady Conlin had four strikeouts, allowing seven earned on nine hits in a complete game effort. At the plate, Conlin went 4-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scored. Jake Queeney (run, two RBI), Kyle Doolin (two runs), and Hunter Malkin each had two hits for Stoughton.

Sharon, 7 @ Foxboro, 2 – Final Sharon freshman Luke Meixel had a memorable debut for the Eagles, tossing a complete game with just two runs allowed on two hits and two walks to lead the Eagles to a win over Foxboro. Meixel had just one earned run allowed while striking out three. JD Rittenberg paced the offense for the Eagles, who blew open a 1-1 game with six runs in the top of the sixth. Rittenberg had three hits, two RBI, and scored two runs while Justin Brown added two hits, an RBI, and a run scored. Tom Marcucella and Sean O’Leary each had a hit and a run scored for Foxboro.

Milford, 3 @ Franklin, 13 – FinalSophomore Alfred Mucciarone earned a win in his debut on the mound for the Panthers, allowing just two runs on five hits and three walks, striking out five in four innings of work for Franklin. Ethan Voellmicke (three strikeouts) and James Kuczmiec (two strikeouts) each tossed a scoreless inning in relief. Ben Jarosz led the offensive charge with three hits, including a pair of doubles, drove in two runs, and scored once himself. Attleboro, 2 @ Taunton, 4 – FinalTaunton senior Kelsey White struck out 16 batters and the Tigers held off a late-rally from the Bombardiers to win at home. Taunton scored once in each the first and third innings and tacked on two more in the bottom of the fifth. White allowed two runs, both coming in the top of the seventh, on three hits and two walks, but closed the door shut to preserve the win. Taunton had just three hits on the day but took advantage of five walks and two Bombardier errors. Hanna Aldrich had an RBI and scored a run, White helped her own cause with an RBI, and Kyleah Plumb had a hit and a run scored in the win. In the top of the seventh, Brenna Morse drew a walk and Lora Woyton singled to put two on. Freshman Rylie Camacho smashed a two-run triple to bring the tying run to the plate but Taunton was able to close it out. AHS head coach Mark Homer credited Hailey Perry (shortstop) and Kayla Goldrick (third base) for strong defensive plays to keep Attleboro close. Woyton pitched a complete game, allowing just three hits and five walks.

Foxboro, 14 @ Sharon, 4 – FinalFoxboro exploded for eight runs in the top of the sixth inning, turning a close game into a big win on the road against the Eagles. Foxboro belted out 18 hits as a team, led by senior Morgan Sylvestre’s five-hit day. Sylvestre hit one home run and three doubles, driving in four runs in the process and scoring twice. Peyton Feldman added four hits out of the leadoff spot, including one double and one triple, and scored all four times. Nicole Theriault and Kaylee Bruce each added three hits and eighth-grader Emma Callahan helped her own cause with two hits. In the circle, Callahan tossed a complete game for her second win, scattering eight hits while striking out eight. Trinity Payne struck out nine and went 2-for-4 in the loss. Sharon also got three hits from Julia Earley and two from Penny Rabatsky.

Canton, 5 @ Stoughton, 12 – Final – Stoughton picked up its first win of the season with a win at home over neighboring Canton. Senior Julia Driscoll led the offensive charge for the Black Knights with two hits, driving in three runs. Junior Sydney Menz (two doubles) and freshman Julie Powers each had two hits for the hosts, freshman Alyssa Edwards recorded her first hit and scored two runs, and seniors Sarah McGrath and Nicole Baker each had a hit on the day. Baker earned the win in the circle for the Knights, scattering seven hits while striking out nine.

King Philip, 7 @ Mansfield, 0 – FinalThe Hornets tried to mount a rally in the top of the seventh, loading the bases with two outs and the top of the order due up but KP sophomore catcher Sarah Cullen picked off a runner at third ended the game. Cullen was the star of the game, going 3-for-3 at the plate with three runs scored, recording a double and a triple. She also reached a fourth time after being hit by a pitch and finished with two RBI for KP. The Warriors scored once in the first, three in the third, two in the fourth, and added one more in the sixth. Charlotte Raymond added three hits, including a pair of doubles, and two RBI while sophomore Libby Walsh smashed a two-run triple and had a strong game defensively (two putouts, four assists). Mansfield recorded five hits as a team, including two from Jill Koppy and one each from Olivia Madeira, Molly Kucharski, and Nicole Kobasa.

Oliver Ames, 0 @ North Attleboro, 10 – FinalZoey McDonough allowed a bunt single and a walk, but then retired the next 18 batters that she faced to earn her first career win and shutout. McDonough finished with 12 strikeouts and helped her own cause with three hits and four RBI. Kelly Colleran continued her hot start at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a walk, two triples, and a solo homer. Emily Nardelli, Belle Clarkin, and Ally Levine each had two hits for North. Attleboro, 8 @ Taunton, 16 – FinalTaunton dominated at the draw, leading to a big win over visiting Attleboro. The Tigers won 22 of the 28 draws while both Alana Tavares (two assists) and Tasia Lajoie recorded seven goals. Rosemary McGrath added a pair of goals and an assist while Cali Melo had two helpers. Emily Gannon made 10 saves in the win for the Tigers.

Mansfield, 10 @ Canton, 11 – FinalClick here for a Photo Gallery from this game. Canton jumped out to an 8-2 lead early in the second half, but the Hornets rallied with eight of the game’s final 11 goals and the Bulldogs needed to win the final draw with just 50 seconds to play to hold on for the win. Canton led 3-2 after the first quarter, thanks to a pair of goals from Ella Yeaton and one from Kayla Albert. Lola Varricchione and Grace Danehy got on the board for the visitors. The Bulldogs broke the game open in the second and led 7-2 at halftime. Devan Spinale, Carly Fitzgerald, Emily McCabe, and Yeaton tallied for the home team, and then Allie McCabe scored off a turnover early in the third quarter to build the lead to six. Mansfield rallied with four straight to get back in the game. Lauren Clark scored three of the four and Ava Adams added the other, but Sierra Abbott stopped the run with 12.1 on the clock to send Canton into the fourth up 9-6. Spinale added her second (both with low-angle, backhand shots) a minute into the final quarter. AnnMarie McCoy scored back-to-back goals, but Abbott answered with her second of the night. Danehy got her second just 30 seconds later and then Adams made it a one-goal game with 49.9 on the clock. Canton controlled the draw and ran the ball down to the far corner, winding down the clock for its second win.

Sharon, 4 @ Franklin, 23 – FinalFranklin defended its home turf against visiting Sharon as 13 players found the back of the net for the Panthers. Katie Ryan, Maura Cogavin, and Emma Sousa each scored their first varsity goal in the win.

The Tigers scored once in the top of each the first and second innings before exploding for seven runs in the sixth and two more in the seventh inning. Senior Danny MacDougall got it done both offensively and on the mound for the visitors, knocking in a pair of runs and scoring twice while tossing five scoreless innings. He struck out six with just one hit allowed and no walks to earn the win. Matthew Ferrara pitched two scoreless innings in relief with two strikeouts. Lindsey Perry, who had two hits including a two-run homer, earned her first win in the circle after giving up two unearned runs in five innings of work. Lora Woyton belted a three-run homer for the Bombardiers while freshman Riley Camacho (3-for-4, two-run home run) and Kayla Goldrick (2-for-3, two doubles) played well in their debut games.

Five straight singles, a hit-by-pitch, a walk, and then back-to-back singles turned things around for Mansfield in a big rally. Freshmen Callie Lake (3-for-4), Jill Koppy (2-for-5), Olivia Madeira (2-for-4) and Molly Kucharski (1-for-3) each had hits in their debuts. Alanna Conley, Ashlyn Conley, and Nicole Kabosa had two hits apiece and Ashlyn Conley struck out six Tigers to pick up the win. The Hornets outhit OA 16-10. It was an ideal start for the Warriors, who plated five runs in the first and went on to score in the second, third, and fifth innings. Senior Paige Berdos had three hits, including an RBI and a run scored, as KP totaled 13 hits as a team. Sophomore Libby Walsh (two RBI) and freshmen Jordan Bennett (run) and Maddie Paschke (two RBI) each had two hits for KP while junior Mia Bennett launched a three-run home run. For North, Kelly Colleran led the Rocketeers with four hits and drove in two. Zoey McDonough had a pair of hits, including a three-run homer, and Shaelyn Burns smashed a grand slam for North. Foxboro, 6 @ Franklin, 18 – FinalClick here for a Photo Gallery from this game.Sophomores Luke Davis and Jayden Consigli combined for 10 goals in their Franklin debuts and senior Matt Lazzaro had five points, as the Panthers opened the season with a dominating home win. Davis got the Panthers off to a great start with a first quarter hat trick. Tim Walsh, Owen Kielty, and Consigli each added one as well for the Panthers and freshman Lincoln Moore got his first varsity goal for the Warriors who trailed 6-1 after one. Tommy Sharkey scored a man-up goal to start the second, but Franklin answered with seven straight goals to open a double-digit lead. Consigli had a hat trick in the second, two of them assisted by Davis, who added two goals of his own in the quarter. Mike Griffin and Lazzaro also scored in the run, before Foxboro got one back to make it 13-3 at the half. Lazzaro and Davis traded assists on each other’s goals to start the third, but freshman Connor Noone got his first career goal and Moore added his second. Conor O’Neil scored back-to-back goals to push the lead up to 12 in the fourth. Noone got his second of the day, but Ravin Chaudhury capped the scoring with his first with two minutes to go.

Oliver Ames, 5 @ Mansfield, 15 – FinalMansfield opened the season in impressive fashion with a 15-5 win over visiting Oliver Ames. Senior Nico Holmes set the tone with a great game at the faceoff X and scored five goals. Thomas Norton added two goals and five assists, Jake Quirk scored a hat trick and added one helper, and Ryan DeGirolamo was terrific in goal for the Hornets, allowing just two even strength goals. OA junior Wyatt Fritchman led the offense for the Tigers with three goals and two assists while senior Ross Carroll added two goals and an assist.

Ava Adams made an instant impact with four goals in her first varsity game. AnnMarie McCoy pulled down seven draw controls and Caitlyn Zajac made 11 saves for the Hornets, who outscored OA 8-3 after halftime.

Rachel Kupferman (first singles, 6-0, 6-1) and the team of Lily Hazam and Olivia Durham (first doubles, 6-1, 6-2) both won in straight sets for the Bulldogs. Laura Correal prevailed 6-3, 6-7 (4-7), 6-2 at second singles and Grace Powers came through with a 7-5, 4-6, 6-4 win at third to help secure the win. Attleboro’s Kyra Johnson and Maddie Fulsado picked up a 6-4, 6-1 win at second doubles.

Mansfield, 3 @ Oliver Ames, 2 – FinalMansfield’s Alex Burnham prevailed in three sets at first singles, winning the match-clinching point as the Hornets won on the road at OA. Mansfield had wins from Aryanna Khosravani (6-3, 6-2) and Kate Martin 7-6 (7-1), 6-4 at second and third singles, respectively, while OA swept doubles action. Burham’s 6-4, 3-6, 6-1 win at first singles clinched the third point for the win. Foxboro, 60 @ Canton, 76 – FinalCanton’s Maddie Rousseau broke her own school record in the 100M hurdles, taking first place with a time of 15.1 to lead the Bulldogs to a win over Foxboro. Rousseau also was first in the high jump (4’10) and took second in the 200M (26.4) and the long jump (15′ 6.5″). Kiara Cerruti was a double-winner for the Bulldogs, crossing first in both the 1 Mile (6:02.8) and the 800M (2:41.1).

She became the first player in program history to record more than 100 goals in a single season. Jenna Goldstein had a hat trick for the Eagles, while Bridget McManus and Cass Barbera each scored once. Rose Wald made 10 saves in the loss and head coach Shara Ginthwain added that Wald’s passing helped the Eagles get into their transition game. Ginthwain also praised the defensive work of Maxine Gordon and Lili Ross. Eberhardt and McManus combined to win 13 draws for Sharon.

#9 Newton North, 14 @ #8 King Philip, 20 – FinalKing Philip senior Dana Truini stepped up and delivered for the Warriors in their playoff opener, leading the way with a team-high five goals along with one assist in a win over Newton North. Olivia Tormey netted four goals, Jess Sullivan added three goals and two assists, and Caroline Klim and Mackenzie Mazur each scored three times in the win. Caroline Watson made 12 saves in net to earn the win. Allie Wilson added a goal and two assists and Julia Marsden scored once and added one helper. #8 King Philip advances to play at #1 Walpole on Thursday at 4:30.

After starting 1-6, North Attleboro won for the eighth time in its last nine games to punch its ticket to the state tournament. Antonetti finished with three goals while Young praised his defense’s effort in front of Jake McNeany (19 saves).

Oliver Ames, 15 @ Stoughton, 2 – FinalFrankie Ireland, Sam Stevens, and Remi Creighton each had four points to pace the Tigers to a win over Stoughton. Oliver Ames, 69 @ Franklin, 67 – FinalOliver Ames’ Aaron MacDonald notches four first-place finishes and Anthony DeCosta and Harrison Webster each won a pair of events to help the Tigers edge Franklin. MacDonald won the 400m (50.9), the 200M (22.7), the triple jump (39’6”), and the long jump (20’5.75”). Webster crossed first in the 100M (11.3) and won the high jump (5’2) while DeCosta had the longest throws in the discus (111’11.5″) and the shot put (42’10”). Sean Flaherty added a win in the 400M hurdles (59.4) for OA.

Mansfield, 99 @ King Philip, 37 – Final Mansfield’s Anthony Comer broke the hand time for both the 100M and 200M and Andrew Williams took first in three events as the Hornets beat King Philip. Comer clocked in at 10.7 in the 100M and 22.0 in the 200M, good for first in both. Williams won the 110M hurdles (16.1), the long jump (21’0″) and the high jump (6’4″). Dan Rapoza (first, 153’8), Jack Taylor (131’1″), and Josh Cook (123’5″) swept the javelin, all setting personal bests. Jason Windvogel ran a season best of 4:37 to take the 1 Mile and Patrick Heavey ran a season best of 2:05 to win the 800M for the Hornets. Other winners for Mansfield included Raffi Marzella (400IH, 60.8) Colbey Eason (50’0), the 4×100 relay team (Ethan Thevenot, Joe Cappelletti, Vinnie Holmes, Jack Barry; 45.1), the 4×400 relay team (Raffi Marzella, Stephen Saba, Jack Rivard, Jason Windvogel; 3:37.).

Canton, 42 @ North Attleboro, 94 – FinalLongtime Canton distance runner Chloe Pennacchio earned a first place in the 1 Mile and set a new career-best time of 5:45.2 while Marie Messinger earned a three-second PR in the 2 Mile, clocking in at 13:33.3 for first place. Sophomore Maddie Rousseau was first in both the 100M (12.9) and the 100M hurdles (16.2) and took second in the long jump (15’8). Leah Murphy set a new PR in the high jump (4’8) for third and was third in the 200M at 28.6. Bronwyn Mahoney earned second in both the discus (98’4) and the shot put (32’10”) for the Bulldogs.

Mansfield, 90 @ King Philip, 46 – Final Mansfield’s Julia Hill took first place in three events, including a 3-inch PR in the long jump. Hill landed at 16’11 in the long jump to take first and also won the triple jump (34’6″) and the 400M hurdles (69.7). Amanda Mangano had ran a PR in the 200M (24.9) and also won the 100M (12.2) and the high jump (5’0″). Freshman Caitlin Dumochel set a new PR in the javelin by over two feet to get the win (80’7″), freshman Kate Miller set a new PR in the 800M by over two seconds (2:26.4), and sophomore Grace Fernandez recorded a new personal best in the 1 Mile by over four seconds (5:29.9).
