Canton, 1 @ North Attleboro, 7 – FinalNorth Attleboro senior Todd Robinson hit a home run for the second straight game, this time his first career grand slam that highlighted a six-run inning for the Rocketeers, who swept the season series against Canton. North took an early lead off a sac fly from Nick Raneri, going up 1-0 in the first. In the third, Raneri had an RBI single and Jared Penta scored on a wild pitch to push the lead to 3-0 before Robinson deposited the ball over the fence with the bases full. North Attleboro senior Matt Seavey earned the win, tossing a complete game with three hits allowed, one walk, and nine strikeouts. Seavey retired the side in each the third, fourth, fifth, and sixth innings. Kyle Bolger had two big catches in the fourth inning to rob the Bulldogs of extra-base hits. Rob Sullivan (2-for-2) hit a solo home run in the fifth inning for Canton.

Franklin, 5 @ Oliver Ames, 4 – FinalFranklin erased a pair of deficits, the second time in the top of the seventh inning to grab a win on the road at Frothingham Park. OA built a 2-0 lead in the first inning and extended it to 3-0 on a John Gomes sac fly to score CJ Deveau. Franklin rallied for three in the fifth inning to tie the score but the Tigers went back ahead in the bottom half when Jay Spillane (double) scored on an RBI single from Jacob Levine. In the top of the sixth, Jake Fitzgibbons brought Cooper Ross in with a sac fly to tie it, and Brennan Rivera drove in JB Floris for the game-winning hit. Rivera got the save in relief, allowing one hit but then getting a double play ball to end it. Fitzgibbons earned the win in a relief appearance, tossing 2.1 innings, striking out three with one walk and two hits allowed. Alex Haba (two doubles, run, two RBI) and Scott Elliott (double, run) each had two hits for the Panthers. Jake Erlich had two hits while Chris Pearsons had one and an RBI, and also had a strong outing on the mound in his first start. Sean O’Brien shined defensively for OA in centerfield.

King Philip, 0 @ Mansfield, 5 – FinalMansfield senior Jake Gerraughty was stellar on the mound, just one out away from a no-hitter before the Warriors registered their first hit of the day in the seventh inning. Gerraughty, who hit one batter, held KP hitless for 6.2 innings before Tim Crowley stroked a single to break it up. Gerraughty earned the win with a complete game shutout, striking out four. Mansfield scored two in the bottom of the first, added one in the fourth, and plated two more in the fifth. Dan Saraceno (home run) had two hits, two runs, and two RBI to pace the Hornets while Kyle Moran (home run), John Carney (run), and Michael DeBolt each had a hit and an RBI for Mansfield.

Foxboro, 13 @ Sharon, 9 – Final (8 inn.)Morgan Sylvestre homered in the seventh inning to tie the game and the Warriors got two outs at the plate in the bottom half of the inning to force extras. Foxboro scored four times in the eighth to pull out the victory. Sylvestre went 3-for-5 in the game, driving in three runs, and she turned a 6-3 double play on a line drive to end the game. Rylie Martignetti and Alexandra Willis both had three hits as well for the Warriors. In the bottom of the seventh, Peyton Feldman charged a ball from third and flipped it with her glove to Willis to cut a run down at the plate and second baseman Jill Finn was able to make a catch running towards the outfield and throw out another runner at the plate, keeping the game tied. Freshman Trinity Payne sparked the Eagles on offense, going 3-for-5 with three doubles and four RBI. Jody Goldenberg went 3-for-4 and drove in a pair, Lauren Yaffe went 2-for-3 and Rebecca Clayman went 2-for-4 for Sharon. Emily Botvin went the distance for the Eagles, needing 78 pitches to get through eight innings.

Oliver Ames, 3 @ Franklin, 8 – FinalFranklin raced out to a five-run lead before Oliver Ames plated three runs to get within striking distance. But Panther junior Sarah Jackson smacked a three-run home run in the sixth inning to help Franklin secure the win. Maggie Hobby had a two-run double early to help Franklin build a 5-0 lead. Katie Abreu had a two-run triple for OA, scoring Abbi Holmes (single) and Emma Varella (bunt), and then scoring herself on a single from Katie Mills to make it 5-3. Jackson put the game away with the three-run shot in the sixth. Emily Valentino, who had three hits at the plate, picked up the win in the circle for Franklin, tossing a complete game with four strikeouts.

Mansfield, 2 @ King Philip, 5 – FinalKP rallied twice in the early innings and held on once it grabbed the lead to earn its sixth straight win. Sydney Woods had put the Hornets up 1-0 in the first with a solo homer, but KP tied it in the bottom of the second. The Hornets regained the lead in the third when Megan Letendre singled, Mady Bendanillo (two hits) doubled, and Caty DeMassi (two hits) drove in the go-ahead run with a single. Mansfield had eight hits as a team but left runners on base in the first, third, fourth, and fifth innings. In the seventh, the Hornets had two on but DeMassi’s line drive was right at Meghan Gorman to end the game. Sarah Cahill gave up six hits and struck out three in the loss.

Stoughton, 17 @ Milford, 4 – FinalStoughton freshman Melody Casna got her first career win in her first start, scattering five hits and striking out one. Nicole Baker allowed one hit and struck out five in two innings of work for the Black Knights. Jordan Lyons (3-for-3, RBI) and Karly Estremera (3-for-4, triple, three RBI) paced the Stoughton offense while and Brianna Ferrandiz and Sarah McGrath (three-run double) both had two hits.

Oliver Ames, 19 vs. Milton, 7 – FinalHistory was made under the lights at Muscato Stadium in Oliver Ames’ win over Milton. Junior Shane Kilkelly scored six goals and had one assist to become the Tigers’ all-time leading scorer. Junior Sam Stevens added two goals and four assists to reach the 100-point club as well. Remi Creighton finished with eight points (two goals, six assists) while Colin Bourne, Hunter Costello, and Sandro Mascierelli each scored twice for OA.

King Philip, 10 @ Natick, 11 – FinalCaroline Watson made 14 saves but the Warriors came up just short in a close loss in a potential playoff preview. Caroline Klim scored four goals and assisted on one, while Jess Sullivan and Dana Truini each scored twice and each had an assist. Olivia Tormey and Mackenzie Mazur both scored once for the Warriors.

King Philip, 7 @ Bishop Feehan, 9 – FinalTim Crowley and Zack Zarba each had a pair of hits and drove in a run for the Warriors but King Philip fell on the road to Feehan.

Mansfield, 3 vs. Braintree, 1 – FinalMansfield senior Kyle Moran had a no-hitter through 6.2 innings, leading the Hornets to a win over visiting Braintree. Moran (five walks) struck out 10 in a complete game, not allowing the Wamps a hit until the seventh inning. Offensively, the Hornets took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the seventh and then added two more in the third. Sam Nugent went 2-for-4 with two runs scored, Eric Longley had a pair of RBI doubles, and John Carney added two hits and a run scored.

Milford, 10 @ Hopedale, 0 – FinalMilford’s offense came alive, plating 10 runs in a win over non-league rival Hopedale. Luke Rosa paced the offense with a pair of hits, including a home run, two RBI, two runs, and a walk. Dan Corsini (2-for-3) added an RBI and a run scored and Carter Scudo had a hit, a walk, two stolen bases, and two runs. Colby Pires got the win, tossing four scoreless innings allowing just one hit while striking out three. Sophomore Mario Lee pitched two scoreless innings in relief with four strikeouts.

North Attleboro, 6 vs. Natick, 8 – FinalNorth Attleboro answered each time that Natick scored, but couldn’t keep pace as the RedHawks picked up a win on the road. Natick went ahead with a three-run home run in the top of the first but North got on the board in the bottom of the first on an RBI single from Jake Palmer. Natick extended the lead to 5-1 in the top of the fifth but North made it a one-run game by plating three in the bottom half. Ryan Warren (two hits) led off with a hit and scored on another RBI from Palmer, who scored on a fielders’ choice from Dennis Colleran (3 RBI). Kyle Briere scored on a single from Jake Carroll to make it a one-run game. Natick padded its lead with three runs in the top of the seventh. Colleran belted a two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh.

Taunton, 6 vs. New Bedford, 5 – FinalTaunton turned patience at the plate into 10 walks and capitalized on three Whaler errors, eventually walking off with a win. With the game tied in the bottom of the seventh, Sean Quinlan reached on an error. Pinch runner Nolan Melo advanced with a single and then came home to score the winning run on a wild pitch. Lucas Martins had two hits, a walk, and an RBI for the Tigers. Josh Lajoie scattered four hits, four walks, and four runs over five innings of work while striking out five. Sophomore Danny MacDougall got the win in relief, allowing just one run on two hits in two innings with three strikeouts.

Softball
Oliver Ames, 2 vs. Walpole, 10 – FinalOliver Ames kept pace with the Rebels for five innings before the visitors pulled away with six runs over the final two innings. Sophomores Emma Varella (2-for-3, double) and Grace Simone each scored a run for the Tigers while Katie Abreu added a hit.

Stoughton, 13 vs. Milton, 0 – Final (6 inn.)Nicole Baker had another impressive start for the Black Knights, striking out 10 and allowing only three hits to earn the win. She also had a pair of hits at the plate. Karly Estremera led the Stoughton offense with four hits, while Lexi Baptista and Nikki Coppola both added two hits apiece.

Taunton, 15 @ Foxboro, 0 – Final (5 inn.)Taunton clicked on all cylinders, belting out 17 hits while senior Alexa White got 13 of the 15 outs via strikeout. White allowed just one hit, walked two and didn’t allow a run to earn the shutout victory. Sophomore Kelsey White shined at the plate, hitting two home runs and knocking in four runs. Payton Ceglarski (double, home run, four RBI), Rylie Murphy (two doubles, RBI), Abbie McDonough (two RBI), Alexa White (double, RBI), Hanna Aldrich (two runs), and Jaime Brown each had two hits for Taunton.

Mansfield, 16 @ Sharon, 0 – Final (5 inn.)Mansfield jumped out to a big lead, with 10 runs in the opening two innings, and never looked back to pick up the road win. The Hornets scored seven runs in the first on seven singles, added three runs in the second inning and then tacked on five more in the fifth. Mansfield finished with 16 hits as a team. Ella Verheggen went 3-for-4 with four RBI, while Kara Bendanillo, Mady Bendanillo, Mary Muldoon, Caty DeMassi, and Sarah Cahill each recorded two hits apiece. Cahill also earned the win in the circle, striking out six and facing just two batters over the minimum.

Boys Lacrosse
Canton, 9 @ Scituate, 7 – FinalTied at four apiece at halftime, Canton outscored the Sailors 3-2 in the third to take a lead into the fourth, and the Bulldogs limited Scituate to just one goal in the final frame to get the win. Senior Griffin Roach led the way with three goals and three assists while Dylan Coyne had a strong game in net with seven games. Head coach Bill Bendell noted the strong defensive efforts of Brendan Albert, James Murphy, George Kent, Nick Mackay, Jack Albert, and Carson Campbell.

Mansfield, 8 vs. Bridgewater-Raynham, 15 – Final

Sharon, 15 @ North Attleboro, 11 – FinalEmma Eberhardt had seven goals and an assist to lead the Eagles to a non-league win over North. Mia Lappen added three goals and a pair of assists and Cass Barbera and Jenna Goldstein each scored twice in the win. Maxine Gordon also got a goal for Sharon. Eagles coach Shara Ginthwain said, “I’m so impressed with how we played together today, everyone did their job on the field to earn this big win!”

Boys Tennis
King Philip, 4 @ Bishop Feehan, 1 – FinalKing Philip won two matches in singles action and swept both doubles matches to earn a victory over Bishop Feehan. Sophomore Nick Putney didn’t drop a game in a 6-0, 6-0 win at second singles while junior Jack Cannon secured a 6-1, 6-1 win at third singles. The team of Nate Ihley and Tyler Dowd picked up a 6-2, 6-1 win at first doubles while Jake Mager and Max Goreham rallied for a 6-7 (5), 6-1, 6-3 win at second doubles.

Boys Volleyball
King Philip, 3 vs. Millis, 0 – FinalKing Philip won its fifth straight match with a 3-0 sweep (25-13, 25-17, 25-15) at home against Millis. Alex Bernhard had a strong day with 13 service points and one ace while Mike O’Brien paced the offense with 10 kills.

Taunton, 3 vs. Quincy, 2 – FinalA shorthanded Taunton team survived a five-set thriller against visiting Quincy. For the second straight match, the Tigers took a 2-0 lead but had to go to a fifth set. After falling to KP on Thursday, Taunton prevailed in five against the Presidents. Damir Santiago stepped up into the setter position and played well for the Tigers. Gage Kingman, Tyler Stewart, and Liam Bunker all played well at the net for Taunton.

Foxboro, 2 @ North Attleboro, 11 – FinalNorth Attleboro’s Matt Wanless allowed four hits while striking out four batters in six innings of work to earn the win, earning the Rocketeers a berth in the state tournament. Foxboro took a 1-0 lead after a half inning but Big Red plated three runs in the bottom half to get the lead – one it never relinquished. Jeff Gale scored on a single from Zach DeMattio, and then DeMattio and Brendan McHugh scored on a double from Nick Raneri. North added three more in the second inning, all with two outs. Nick Sinacola was hit by a pitch and came around to score on a triple from Gale for North’s fourth run. Big Red capitalized on a pair of errors to make it 6-1. Peter Cohen put an exclamation point on the win with a grand slam in the sixth inning. Chad Bearce went 2-for-3 with an RBI for Foxboro.

Sharon, 3 @ King Philip, 4 – FinalKing Philip Chris Sawyer had a two-run single in the bottom of the seventh inning to lead the Warriors to a walk-off win over Sharon. The Eagles took a 3-2 lead into the bottom of the seventh but KP sophomore started the rally with a single. Jaret stole second base and David Morganelli and Jeremy Rhines followed with consecutive walks before Sawyer’s game-winning hit. Sharon rallied for three runs in the sixth inning to take the lead. Liam Rohan pitched 5.1 innings for the Warriors while Tim Crowley pitched a 1-2-3 seventh inning for the win.

Softball
Foxboro, 13 vs. Westwood, 1 – Final

King Philip, 4 vs. Dighton-Rehoboth, 2 – FinalKing Philip junior Meghan Gorman launched a three-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning to give the Warriors a walk-off win over Dighton-Rehoboth. Gorman and Hailey McCasland each had two hits and Nicole Carter had a strong game defensively. Elise Pereira didn’t allow a run over the final five innings, striking out nine while walking just one.

Milford, 13 @ Newton North, 0 – Final (6 inn.)Milford flexed its offensive muscles in a showdown between two of the top teams in the state. The Hawks set the tone with three runs in the top of the first, tacked on single runs in each the third and fourth, three more in the fifth inning and put the game out of reach with five runs in the sixth inning. Shannon Cormier had three hits, including a double, with four RBI and two runs scored to lead the offense. Sabrina Haarstick (double, three RBI0, Jess Tomaso (RBI, two runs), and Kate Irwin (two runs, stolen base) each had two hits apiece while Emily Piergustavo (three walks) scored three times. Kelley Reichert also had two htis, including an RBI double, while allowing just five hits in the circle. Reichert struck out three in six innings of work.

North Attleboro, 8 @ Dartmouth, 7 – FinalNorth Attleboro trailed 4-0 after four innings, and 6-2 in the sixth inning, but rallied for a win in a tournament-like game. Big Red put up five runs in the sixth inning with Ashley Cangiano (two hits) and Abby Gallagher (three hits) each coming through two two-run hits. Gallagher knocked in one more run in the top of the seventh for the needed insurance run. Katherine Munley added three hits, Emily Nardelli was stellar in the field, and Bella Erti struck out eight and didn’t issue a walk to earn the win in the circle.

Stoughton, 1 vs. Brockton, 0 – FinalStoughton senior Gina Carafa tossed a shutout and drove in the only run of the game to lead the Black Knights to a win over neighboring Brockton. Carafa went 3-for-3 and had an RBI in the third inning, freshman Nicole Baker went 2-for-3, senior Krista Michienzi added a double, and Brianna Ferrandiz chipped in with a single. In the circle, Carafa allowed just four hits while striking out six. The Black Knights had a strong day defensively behind Carafa.

Attleboro, 2 @ North Attleboro, 14 – FinalThe Rocketeers jumped out to a 10-2 halftime lead and held the Bombardiers scoreless after the break to get the win. Katie Lindstrom and Mackenzie Rosenberg each scored five goals for North, while Julia Dakin and Camille Pizarro each scored a pair and Maggie O’Brien added one.

Foxboro, 13 @ King Philip, 9 – FinalKing Philip and Foxboro kept it close for the majority of the game but the visitors scored six of the final eight goals in the game to earn the win. Tied 7-7, Foxboro build a 10-8 lead by consecutive goals from Sophia DiCenso with just over four minutes to go. Caroline Klim led King Philip with five goals, Dana Truini added two goals and an assist, and Lauren Anderson and Alli Meehan each tallied one goal. Caroline Watson made 11 saves in net for the host Warriors.

Mansfield @ Milford, 3:45

Sharon, 12 @ Wayland, 19 – FinalEmma Eberhardt recorded seven points and Sabrina Robbins had four but the Eagles were grounded on the road by Wayland. Eberhardt had four goals and three assists, Robbins scored three times and had one helper, Abbi Solomon and Jenna Goldstein each netted a pair of goals, and Mia Lappen scored her first career goal for Sharon.

North Attleboro, 4 @ Franklin, 1 – FinalNorth Attleboro capped its memorable week with an impressive win over a good Franklin team. Richard Bermudez won 6-1, 6-1 at first singles, Christian Bermudez won 6-1, 6-3 at second singles, and freshman Jonah Manso lost just one game in a 6-1, 6-0 win at third singles. The team of Alex Rinaldi and Sam Gallagher earned a 6-4, 7-5 win at second doubles for North. Franklin’s Derek Wu and Tyler DiPalma won 6-3, 5-7, 10-8 at first doubles.

King Philip, 4 @ Stoughton, 1 – FinalStoughton freshman Waseem Sablon earned an impressive win at first singles but King Philip earned the victory with wins at the other two singles matches and both doubles matches. Sablon won 6-3, 3-6, 11-9 for Stoughton’s point. Nick Putney won 6-1, 6-0 at second singles and Jack Cannon didn’t lose a game in a 6-0, 6-0 win at third singles. The team of Nick Ihley and Nate Ihley earned a 6-0, 6-1 win at first doubles while Zak Ryan and Tyler Dowd won 6-1, 6-0 at second doubles.

Mansfield, 4 @ Attleboro, 1 – FinalMansfield swept singles play and earned another win in doubles to get a victory on the road at Attleboro. Sarah Doyle won 6-2, 6-0 at first singles, Elizabeth Elsener earned a 6-2, 6-2 win at second singles and Aryana Khosravani won 6-2, 6-3 at third singles. The team of Tessa Garufi and Hannah Podolske earned the Hornets’ fourth point with a 1-6, 6-3, 6-2 win at first doubles. Attleboro’s Jill See and Grace Mayer won 6-2, 6-3 at second doubles.

Foxboro, 5 @ Dighton-Rehoboth, 0 – Final Foxboro went on the road and won all five matches in straight sets against Dighton-Rehoboth. Sophia Prinos (first singles) and Pamela Nelson (second singles) each won 6-0, 6-0 while Kayla Prag emerged from third singles with a 6-4, 6-3 win. The team of Julia Muise and Sarah Prag prevailed 6-1, 7-5 at first doubles and Kendell Milender and Olivia Dantona teamed up for a 6-2, 6-1 win at second doubles.

Franklin, 0 @ North Attleboro, 5 – FinalIt was a clean sweep for the Rocketeers, taking all five matches in straight sets to defend home court. Jordan Willis didn’t drop a game in a 6-0, 6-0 win at first singles, Emily Chiasson earned a 6-0, 6-1 win at second singles, and Katie Ovoian emerged from third singles with a 6-1, 7-6 (10) decision. Azka Siddiq and Leah Marceau won 6-0, 6-0 at first doubles and the team of Monica Nakhla and Haley Strom won 6-3, 6-0 at second doubles.

Sharon, 2 @ Martha’s Vineyard, 3 – FinalSharon suffered its first setback of the season, falling on the road to powerhouse Martha’s Vineyard. Nupur Shukla won 6-3, 6-1 at first singles and Lulu Yuan prevailed in three sets to earn Sharon’s two points.
