Mansfield, 42 @ Taunton, 36 – FinalAnn Maher scored a game-high 12 points, as the Hornets bounced back from an early deficit to earn the come from behind victory. Taunton jumped out to a 21-3 lead in the second quarter, led 22-14 at half, and 28-26 after three, but the Hornets scored 16 in the fourth for the win. Meg Hill had eight points, 12 rebounds and four blocks for Mansfield, while Lily Patneaude had 11 and Kelsey White had eight for the Tigers.

Mansfield/Oliver Ames, 1 @ Canton, 3 – FinalCanton’s Lauren Fitzpatrick scored a pair of goals and assisted on another to help the Bulldogs pick up a key division win over visiting MOA.

Franklin, 7 @ Stoughton, 0 – FinalRegan Paterson led the way for the Panthers with a pair of goals and freshman Gabby Colace picked up the shutout in goal. Jillian McLaughlin, Maddie Hinckley, Jordan Dwyer, Katelyn Brown, and Victoria Quinn also scored goals for Franklin.

King Philip, 2 vs. Dennis-Yarmouth, 4 – Final

Wrestling
Peckham Tournament (Canton, King Philip, Mansfield, Sharon) – Mansfield took first place at the annual Peckham Tournament hosted at Canton High School. The Hornets scored 193.5 points as a team while King Philip placed third with 137 points. Sharon (106.5) was sixth and Canton (98) took seventh. The Hornets had four individual winners with Antonios Sevastos (113), George Glaropoulos (152), Jayden Curley (160) and Vinnie Holmes (182) all taking first. Ciaran Connolly (145), CJ Glaropoulos (138) and Will Stratton (132) added second-place finishes for the Hornets. For King Philip, Jackson Kelley (126), Joseph Fruci (145) and Luke Fitch (170) all won their brackets while Jake Malatesta (160) and Shawn Conniff (182) garnered second place honors. Canton’s Eddie Marinilli (138) and Anis Chakir (132) rounded out the winners for the Hockomock teams. Sharon had eight grapplers finish inside the top four, led by third-place finishes from Justin Wells (285) and Will Stern (120).

Chelmsford Tournament (Foxboro) – Foxboro placed fifth overall as a team, finishing with 138 points. Host Chelmsford won the tournament with 204.5 points, followed by Nobles (165), Westford (162.5) and Framingham (156). Phil Dure (126) was the lone individual champion for the Warriors while Adam Lanctot (113) took third place and Dave Dow (160) earned a fourth-place finish.

Natick Duals (Franklin) – Franklin cruised through the Natick Duals tournament, winning all five of its matches, including the final round against the hosts. The Panthers beat Concord-Carlisle (73-6), Merrimack (62-12), Brookline (47-13), Hopkinton (72-9) and Natick (69-3) to earn the crown. Jake Carlucci, Kenny Sauer, Ian Bakalars, TJ Remillard, Brian Farrell, Seamus Cogavin, and Riley Downing all went undefeated on the day for Franklin.

North Attleboro Quad (North Attleboro) – North Attleboro picked up four convincing victories at its own super quad and had five wrestlers go 4-0 on the day. Big Red notched wins over Bridgewater-Raynham (57-9), St. John’s Prep (54-17), Plymouth State (42-21) and LaSalle (48-25). Ethan Smith (106, three pins), Jake Direnzo (126, two pins), Adam Eberle (160, three pins), Chris Ferrigno (182, one pin) and Brad White (195, two wins) all had four wins for the Rocketeers.

Oliver Ames Quad (Oliver Ames, Hingham, Sandwich, Shepherd Hill) – Oliver Ames grabbed two wins at its own quad meet to improve to 11-2 overall. The Tigers earned wins over Sandwich (58-4) and Shepherd Hill (55-0) but fell to Hingham (38-30). Both Dean Pacini and Anthony Berksza went 3-0 on the day with a pair of pins.

Franklin, 7 @ Mansfield, 2 – FinalJunior Cassi Ronan registered four points to help the Panthers roll to a big win on the road. Ronan scored a pair of goals and set up two more in a win that qualified Franklin for the state tournament. Freshman Victoria Quinn netted a pair of goals while sophomores Erin Walsh and Olivia Mazukina and freshman Amanda Lewandowski each scored once.

Taunton, 0 @ King Philip, 4 – FinalKing Philip got off to a strong start, scoring a pair of goals inside the first five and a half minutes to take down Taunton. Dana Truini, Raegan Simeone (assisted by Caroline Klim) and Liz Furfari (assisted by Christina Hathaway) scored in the first half to help the Warriors build a 3-0 lead at the break. Nicole Connor scored with just over 12 minutes left to ice the game.

Attleboro, 1 @ Mansfield, 3 – FinalMansfield moved one step closer to an MIAA tournament berth with a win over visiting Attleboro (25-13, 25-16, 25-27, 25-20). The Hornets need to win two of their last three games to qualify. Meg Hill (16 kills) and Julia Harrison (15 kills, 12 service points) paced the offense while Greenly Kelly chipped in with seven kills for Mansfield.

King Philip, 2 vs. Needham, 3 – FinalIn a battle of two top teams, and in what could be a playoff preview, KP fell just short (25-21, 24-26, 25-21, 24-26, 15-17) to visiting Needham. Sydney Phillips had a standout performance, notching 29 kills and nine digs while Michaela Palumbo added 10 kills, nine service points, and three aces. Grace Ely chipped in with six kills, Julianne Rando had 11 digs and five service points and Kat Kmetz added 14 service points, five digs, two kills and two aces.

Oliver Ames, 3 vs. Brockton, 2 – FinalOliver Ames survived a marathon five-game thriller with visiting Brockton, prevailing 25-23, 24-26, 25-13, 19-25, 15-8. OAHS head coach Chelsea Cunningham said senior Emma Petrillo (12 kills, three aces, two blocks) was the player of the game. “She dominated the game offensively and executed at crucial moments in the game,” Cunningham said. Sophomore Allie Kemp added 22 assists and five aces, senior Kayla Raymond had 12 kills and three blocks, and junior Sadie Homer finished with 15 digs and a pair of aces.

Franklin, 2 @ Taunton, 3 – FinalTaunton erased a pair of deficits and then scored the winner late in the second half to pull off a win over visiting Franklin. Franklin went up 1-0 on a goal from sophomore Erin Walsh on a feed from junior Ashley Reutlinger. Taunton tied the game on a goal from Liana Duarte, but Franklin regained the lead behind a tally from freshman Victoria Quinn, assisted by Cassi Ronan. Taunton senior Kya Enos scored the equalizer to make it 2-2 and senior Diana Brens scored the late winner for the Tigers. Taunton goalie Emma Sheehan (15 saves) received praise from both THS head coach Mike Fox and FHS head coach Lisa Cropper. Fox also noted the strong defensive play of Mabel Smith, Jocelyn Pagliuca, and Riley Murphy.

Nicole Brown had 22 assists, five kills, and four aces for the Bulldogs while Hannah Jerrier had eight kills and four blocks, and Rose Hazam added five kills, two aces, and 18 digs.

Franklin, 3 @ Mansfield, 1 – FinalMansfield earned a big win in the first game, but Franklin rallied for three straight to earn the win (10-25, 25-10, 25-15, 25-20). FHS junior Lauren McGrath set the offense up with 40 assists and three aces, Hailey Sanders notched 11 kills and three blocks, Ellie Wisniewski had 10 kills and four aces and Maggie Doyle added nine kills and five blocks for the Panthers. For Mansfield, Meg Hill had 17 kills, Julia Harrison had 12 kills and Jolie O’Neil finished with 10 digs.

Stoughton, 1 @ North Attleboro, 3 – FinalNorth Attleboro dropped the first game but rattled off three straight wins to claim the Davenport division title outright with a 22-25, 25-18, 25-23, 25-14 win over Stoughton. Senior Leah Marceau had 26 assists, spreading the ball around to balance the Rocketeers’ attack. Amelia Murphy led the way with 12 kills and five aces, Anna Caristi had 10 kills and five blocks and Kezie De La Cruz added 10 kills and four aces.

Taunton, 0 @ King Philip, 3 – FinalKing Philip celebrated Senior Night by clinching its second straight Kelley-Rex division title with a 25-14, 25-13, 25-20 win over visiting Taunton. KP senior Sydney Phillips had 11 kills, seven aces, and three digs, Michaela Palumbo added seven kills and two aces, Grace Ely had nine kills, and Julianne Rando chipped in with seven digs.

Golf
King Philip, 167 @ Attleboro, 162 – FinalAttleboro won its third match in three days to punch its ticket to the D1 South Sectional, the program’s first postseason appearance since 2010. Kyle DelSignore led the Bombardiers with a low-round of 38 while Ethan Johnson shot a 40. Jack Handy carded a 41 and Taron Mills shot 43 for Attleboro. King Philip’s Matt Stanton earned co-match medalist honors with a 38.

Canton, 151 @ Oliver Ames, 144 – FinalOliver Ames emerged as the winner in a battle of two unbeaten teams, finishing the regular season 15-0. Canton finishes 13-1. It was no secret of how much talent both teams have as the top four golfers from each side all finished under 40. OA’s Ryan McGarry, who birded on the second and fourth holes, earned match medalist honors with a 34. Thomas Walsh carded a 36 for the Tigers while both Nolan Donze and Eric LeBlanc each shot 37. Joey Vaughan led Canton with a 36 while Danny Powers and Thomas Singleton each carded rounds of 38 and Jack Goyetch fired a 39.

Taunton, 181 @ Stoughton, 180 – FinalStoughton picked up its first win in four years, edging Taunton by a stroke at Easton Country Club. Brendan Campbell and Luke Bainton led the way for the Black Knights, each carding a round of 43 while Josh Hough shot a 44 for Stoughton.

Foxboro, 5 vs. Walpole, 0 – FinalLily Sykes scored a hat trick and “played amazing overall,” according to head coach Katie Stalcup, as the Warriors won a third straight game. Katelyn Mollica scored a first half goal and Lizzy Davis chipped in with a goal with a minute left.

Franklin, 2 @ Taunton, 0 – FinalHalle Atkinson scored the first goal for the Panthers at the half hour mark and an own goal with 20 minutes to play sealed the two points for Franklin in an even game played in blustery conditions. Cat Robbins earned another clean sheet with four saves and Grace Pimenta made 10 saves in the loss for the Tigers.

Taunton, 3 @ Franklin, 6 – FinalFranklin junior Cassi Ronan paced Franklin with a pair of goals and also added an assist while controlling the midfield as the Panthers doubled up on visiting Taunton. Freshman Victoria Quinn scored twice and junior Annie Walsh had two assists and one goal. Junior Ashley Reutlinger also scored for the Panthers and played “an outstanding game on the wing” according to head coach Lisa Cropper. Cropper also highlighted the defensive work of sophomore Maeve Ledwith and senior Caroline Jackson.

Franklin, 3 vs. Brockton, 1 – FinalFranklin’s Ellie Wisniewski had a strong performance for the second straight game, helping the Panthers rally from a one-set deficit for a 21-25, 25-17, 25-23, 25-12 win. Wisniewski had 14 kills, five digs and four aces while Maggie Doyle added 10 kills, three blocks and three aces. Junior Lauren McGrath had another strong performance from the setter spot with 37 assists, three kills and two aces.

Stoughton, 3 vs. Norwood, 0 – FinalStoughton defended its home court with a 25-21, 25-23, 25-16 sweep in non-league game against Norwood.. Senior Val Whalen led Stoughton with 18 kills, six blocks and 20 digs. SHS head coach Erica Batchelder said the Black Knights received a strong defensive showing from seniors Haley Stone and Vicky Ramos.

Golf

Senior Brandin Osborne netted a goal in each half while Matt Alvarado, Jack Sheldon, and Michael Nikiciuk each scored once. Sheldon, Nathaniel Cardoza, James Gillespie, Josh Melnick and freshman Matt Nikiciuk each registered an assist.

Field Hockey
Stoughton, 3 @ Attleboro, 4 – FinalAttleboro scored a pair of goals in each have and senior goalie Katie Pelletier turned aside nine shots to help the Bombardiers edge Stoughton. Grace Mayer scored a pair of goals for Attleboro in the first half, the latter on an assist from Eliza Sabilla. Alex Compton netted both goals in the second half for Big Blue, converting assists from Mayer and Abigail Boudreau. Allie Howe found the back of the net twice for Stoughton while Alanna McCormick scored once.

Canton, 4 @ Mansfield, 1 – FinalCanton junior Maggie Malloy scored a hat trick to lead the Bulldogs to a win on the road at Mansfield.

Foxboro, 1 @ King Philip, 4 – FinalAfter a scoreless first half, King Philip exploded for four goals in the second half. Nicole Connor opened the scoring off an assist from Alli Meehan just under three minutes into the second half and six minutes later, Meehan doubled the lead with an unassisted goal. Liz Furfari scored back-to-back goals four-minute span, the first off a feed from Christina Hathaway, the second from Meehan. Foxboro tallied with just under three minutes to play when Lily Daly finished a pass from Jackie Brion. KP finished with 19 shots and 14 corners.

Milford, 1 @ Franklin, 4 – FinalFranklin junior Cassi Ronan registered her first hat trick of the season, including scoring on a penalty stroke, to lead Franklin over Milford. Freshman Victoria Quinn scored for the second straight game, finishing off an assist from sophomore Elizabeth Clark. FHS head coach Lisa Cropper also noted junior Emily Valentino had a strong game for the Panthers.

North Attleboro, 0 @ Taunton, 1 – FinalTaunton senior Kya Enos scored the lone goal of the game just over midway through the first half. Enos converted the lone tally on an assist from Liana Duarte. Taunton goalie Emma Sheehan turned away nine saves to record the shutout. THS head coach Liz Hathaway said Kathryn Robinson and Lauren Torres both had strong games for the Tigers.

Sharon, 0 @ Oliver Ames, 8 – FinalOliver Ames had seven different players find the back of the net in the win, with Liz Nuss registering a pair of goals.

Volleyball
Attleboro, 0 @ Canton, 3 – FinalCanton’s Nicole Brown (15 assists) did a great job running the offense in her debut as starting setting according to head coach Pat Cawley as the Bulldogs registered a 25-17, 25-23, 25-16 sweep of Attleboro. Megan McDonough led the defense with 12 digs and was “a strong leader on the court,” according to Cawley. Cawley added Sofia Connor and Hannah Jerrier played strong all around games, combining for 10 kills.

Mansfield, 3 @ Foxboro, 0 – FinalMansfield opened its 2017 campaign with a 25-23, 25-16, 25-23 sweep on the road at Foxboro. Senior Meg Hill led the offense with 13 kills and senior Lexi Gardner chipped in with seven kills. Senior Emma Ascoli finished the game with 25 assists for Mansfield.

Franklin, 1 @ North Attleboro, 3 – FinalFranklin fought off the sweep but North Attleboro finished the match in four sets, 25-20, 25-18, 25-27, 25-20. Kezia De La Cruz led the Rocketeers with 12 kills and a pair of aces while Katie DeMontigny had nine kills and two aces in the win. For Franklin, Meaghan Maguire had eight total blocks (six solo) and five kills, Hailey Sanders added three blocks (one solo) and five kills and Lauren McGrath had 19 assists and four aces.

King Philip, 3 @ Milford, 0 – FinalKing Philip slammed the door shutout on its sweep of Milford with senior Michaela Palumbo accounting for 16 service points in the third set alone in a 25-20, 25-11, 25-7 win. Palumbo also had five kills and five aces in the win while Sydney Phillips had 11 kills and Grace Ely notched three kills.

Oliver Ames, 1 @ Stoughton, 3 – FinalStoughton senior Val Whalen had a very strong game in a 3-1 (25-16, 20-25, 25-9, 25-21) win over visiting Oliver Ames. Whalen led the way with 19 kills, 13 digs and six blocks while juniors Molly Turner and Hanna Holden combined for over 30 assists. OA’s Emma Petrillo had seven kills and four aces, sophomore Allie Kemp had 22 assists and Sadie Homer notched 10 digs and two aces.

Taunton, 2 @ Sharon, 3 – FinalIn a back and forth match, Sharon emerged with a 22-25, 25-20, 25-16, 20-25, 15-11 win over visiting Taunton. For the Tigers, Sam Reaume had 10 kills and an ace, Kayli Fagan notched 26 assists, five aces and four kills and McKenzie Lucie played well in the back row according to head coach Toby Chaperon.

Golf
Mansfield, 165 @ King Philip, 167 – FinalMansfield freshman Ryan Dow had shot a team-low round of 38 to lead the Hornets to their first win. Freshman Brian See added a 41 in the win.

Attleboro, 2 @ Canton, 4 – FinalCanton senior Jake Verille opened the scoring and junior Simon Cruz added two first half tallies as the Bulldogs led 3-0 at the halftime break. Attleboro junior Will Halben pulled one back but Canton’s Griffin Roach found the back of the week to make it 4-1. Brandon Lewis added a second strike for the Bombardiers.

Mansfield, 0 @ Foxboro, 0 – FinalMansfield senior Nick Ferraz made eight saves in net for the Hornets to earn the shutout.

Franklin, 2 @ North Attleboro, 3 – FinalNorth Attleboro twice erased a one-goal deficit and scored the game winner with just two seconds left to open the season with two points. Franklin senior Connor O’Rourke put the Panthers ahead in the sixth minute, finishing a shot from distance. North tied the game in the 28th minute when junior Joe Hilf put home a rebound on a corner kick. An own goal put Franklin back ahead but North Attleboro tied the match in the 61st minute. Senior Gabe Pinhancos broke through in alone on goal, touched around the keeper and finished into the net. Hilf scored the winner at the death, putting his shot at the back post with two seconds left.

King Philip, 1 @ Milford, 0 – FinalMilford pushed King Philip to the brink but the Warriors found the game-winner five just five minutes go. Senior Cam Koch provided the winner as his shot from outside the area hit off the crossbar and back off the keeper and into the net. Milford head coach Bryan Edwards played the effort of defender Joey Madden and goalie Josh Orellana.

Taunton, 1 @ Sharon, 2 – FinalLiam Crowley put Taunton ahead just before halftime but the Eagles netted a pair of second half goals to grab two points. Marques Benton leveled the match in the 52nd minute, heading in a long throw from Tyler Hippler. Isaiah Stessman netted the winner in the 66th minute with a shot from distance.

Girls Soccer
Canton, 2 @ Attleboro, 0 – FinalLilah Sullivan scored off a Riley Duserick assist to open the scoring for the Bulldogs and freshman Elisa Diletizia added a debut goal for Canton. Attleboro coach Steve Santos said that his team played well and created chances, but just couldn’t find the finish.

Milford, 0 @ King Philip, 4 – FinalChloe Layne scored a pair of goals and had an assist as KP scored four goals for the second straight game. Layne opened the scoring off a corner and Jenny Hinch made it two by finishing off a loose ball to the near post. Avery Snead scored off a Layne assist to make it 3-0 at halftime. Layne redirected an Emma Corcoran corner for her second and the fourth for the Warriors. Milford goalie Olivia Marshall made eight saves and Hawks coach Jay Mastaj said that Rachel LeBlanc had a solid game on defense.

Stoughton, 0 @ Oliver Ames, 3 – FinalAbby Reardon, Sofia Masciarelli, and Erin Homberg scored goals for the Tigers and Sophia Cox and Abby Hodges had assists. Stoughton coach Tara Daniels said it was a “well-fought game” by the Black Knights. She added that senior Mia Greene created a number of chances from center midfield and goalie Emma Harrington played tough in goal.

Sharon, 0 @ Taunton, 2 – FinalEmily O’Gara had a goal and an assist for the Tigers. Maggie Sullivan had the other goal and Samantha Tichelaar had an assist. Grace Pimenta made three saves to earn the clean sheet.

Attleboro, 1 @ Canton, 8 – FinalCanton senior Andrea McNeil netted a pair of goals and registered a pair of assists in the Bulldogs’ big win.

Franklin, 1 @ North Attleboro, 1 – FinalFranklin freshman Victoria Quinn tied the game midway through the first half off an assist from freshman Amanda Lewandowski. FHS goalie Christina Luccini helped the Panthers preserve the tie with a stellar second half, making five her of nine saves in the second half. Franklin head coach Lisa Cropper also praised the play of junior Cassi Ronan and senior defender Jolie Bua.

Oliver Ames, 3 @ Stoughton, 2 – FinalOliver Ames broke open a tie game at the half with a pair of second half goals to beat Stoughton. Liz Nuss led OA with two goals while Hannah Stryke scored one goal. Caitlin Grant recorded 11 saves in net for Oliver Ames. Haley Apotheker and Allie Howe scored for Stoughton.

Taunton, 4 @ Sharon, 2 – FinalTaunton led 1-0 at the break and netted three more goals in the second half to pull away from Sharon and earn the win. Kya Enos scored a pair of goals while Diana Brend Lauren Torres each netted one goal for the Tigers. Senior Liana Duarte and freshman Alana Tavares each registered an assist in the win. Sharon head coach Andrea Vandette said goalie Lindsay Moses played an amazing first half, turning aside 20 shots.

King Philip, 9 @ Milford, 0 – FinalKing Philip raced out to a 6-0 lead in the first half and never looked back in a shutout win on the road. Alli Meehan had a hat trick and two assists to pace the Warriors’ offense while Claire Lawler scored twice and Caroline Klim had two helpers. Liz Furfari (goal, assist), Dana Truini and Raegan Simeone each scored once while Christina Hathaway and McKenzie Mazur each had one assist.

Volleyball
Taunton, 0 vs. New Bedford, 3 – FinalJunior Kayli Fagan recorded 10 assists and Sam Reaume finished with four kills and a block for the Tigers.

Golf
Attleboro, 172 @ Taunton, 189 – FinalAttleboro’s Kyle DelSignore led the Bombardiers with a low-round of 39 while Corey McKenna carded a 41 to lead Big Blue to its first win. Jack Giebel, Jack Patneaude, Cam Williams all shot 46 for Taunton.

North Attleboro, 171 @ Milford, 172 – FinalNorth Attleboro’s Dylan Kane earned match medalist honors, carding a low-round of 38 to lead the Rocketeers. Riley Lynch led Milford with a 40 and Will Middlecoat shot a 42.

King Philip, 168 @ Franklin, 171 – FinalKing Philip’s Danny McLaughlin was the medalist with a low-round of 37.
