Girls Basketball
Stoughton, 30 @ Canton, 68 – Final – The Bulldogs broke the game open in the second quarter and then closed with a strong defensive fourth quarter to earn a second win in as many days against the Black Knights. Eleven Canton players scored in the victory. Kiara Cerruti paced the hosts with 22 points, including 15 in the first half, and Fay Gallery added 16 (12 in the first half on four threes). The game was close after one, with the Bulldogs leading 17-10. Gallery and Cerruti combined for 15 in the quarter, while Mackenzie Manning kept the visitors close with seven of her team-high nine points. The Bulldogs opened their lead to duble digits by outscoring Stoughton 16-6 in the second. Cerruti and Gallery each knocked down a pair from beyond the arc to power the Canton offense. The third quarter was nearly even but in the fourth, Canton pulled away, outscoring the Black Knights 21-3. Vanessa Phelimond chipped in with 12 rebounds for Stoughton.
