Division 2
#11 Bedford, 0 @ #6 North Attleboro, 8 – FinalFor the second straight day, North got a standout pitching performance to advance to the Div. 2 quarterfinal. Zoey McDonough got the nod in the circle against Bedford and tossed a two-hitter, both infield singles, while striking out 12. McDonough and Kelly Colleran have combined to allow three hits and one run while striking out 31 in the opening two rounds. North’s offense got off to a quick start, putting the hosts up in the opening inning. Mandi Hanewich singled and Ally Levine followed with an RBI double, scoring herself after an overthrow. Levine got her second double in the third, Colleran followed with a walk, and Shaelyn Burns broke the game wide open with a three-run blast. In the fourth Levine reached with her third hit of the day and scored on a single by McDonough. Colleran, who followed Levine with a single, scored when Burns hit a ground-rule double (narrowly missing out on her second homer of the game).
