Stoughton senior Jackie Boutros has been selected as the HockomockSports.com Player of the Week, presented by Morse Insurance, for May 10 through May 16. Boutros is the 24th athlete chosen as Player of the Week for the 2025-26 school year and the seventh in the spring season.
Boutros finished off a perfect week, winning all five matches at No. 1 singles and helping the Black Knights go 4-1 as a team and improve to 9-10 overall, one win more than they had last year when they qualified for the state tournament for the first time in decades. The senior currently has a 17-3 record after another win on Monday and the Knights sit at 10-10.
“Jackie has been a consistent force on our team,” said Stoughton head coach Patty Bangs. “Her ability to stay focused and fully locked in is one of her greatest strengths. Her perseverance and confidence in herself have made her a tough competitor this year. We are incredibly proud of all she has accomplished.”
On Monday, Boutros dominated her first singles match of the week, winning 6-0, 6-0 to help Stoughton edge Mansfield. The following day, Stoughton played a pair of matches against Norwood (using eight-game, pro sets). Boutros won both of her matches, taking the first 8-3 and the second 8-1, as the Black Knights swept aside the Mustangs. Although Stoughton would lose the match with Foxboro on Wednesday, 3-2, Boutros was again victorious, winning 7-5, 6-2. She kept rolling on Saturday, winning 6-1, 6-0 at first singles to help Stoughton bounce right back with another win. The Black Knights are currently ranked No. 34 in Div. 2.
