King Philip has promoted from within for its next football coach.
Anthony Vizakis, who has been with the Warriors for the past four seasons and spent the last three as offensive coordinator, has been hired as the new head coach of King Philip football.
Vizakis takes over for Brian Lee, who stepped down after 21 seasons leading the Warriors. During his time on staff, Vizakis has helped continue KP’s tradition as one of the top programs in the Hockomock League.
“I am truly honored and excited to be named the next head coach of King Philip football,” Vizakis said in a message to HockomockSports. “I look to continue the standard of excellence and hard work that has been set in place by Coach Lee and our staff, as well as the incredible young men who have come through this program. Myself and the players are excited and ready for this new chapter, and we will continue the culture of playing hard-nosed, tough KP football.”
Vizakis joined the KP staff in 2022 with more than 12 years of coaching experience, including three seasons as the head coach at Milford from 2017-2019. Prior to taking over the Scarlet Hawks, Vizakis was Milford’s associate head coach and offensive coordinator under Joe Todd. He also served as Franklin’s offensive coordinator and had coaching stops at Holliston, Durfee, and Bellingham.
A Bellingham native, Vizakis played at Bishop Feehan, where he was part of three Super Bowl-winning teams and served as a senior captain. He went on to play at Bridgewater State, where he was a four-year player and senior captain for the Bears.
