Mansfield alum TJ Guy is launching his professional football career in Canada after signing with the Montreal Alouettes, the CFL team announced on Monday.
Guy, who signed with the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent following the 2026 NFL Draft back in April, joins a Montreal team that is off to a 3-1 start and sits atop the CFL’s East Division.
The 6-foot-4, 250-pound defensive lineman spent the past five seasons at the University of Michigan, appearing in 48 games for the Wolverines. Guy recorded 66 tackles, including 36 solo stops, 12.5 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, one interception, and one pass knockdown during his time in Ann Arbor.
Guy helped Michigan win the 2023 College Football Playoff National Championship, playing in 11 games that season and totaling 10 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, and one sack. He was voted an alternate captain for the 2025 season and was named the team’s Most Improved Player on Defense in 2024.
As a graduate student in 2025, Guy appeared in 12 games with four starts at edge, finishing with 18 tackles, including three for loss with two and a half sacks, and an interception to earn his fifth varsity letter.
At Mansfield, Guy was a standout two-way player and played a vital role in helping the Hornets win the Division 2 Super Bowl in 2019. During that season, he recorded 43 tackles, including six for loss with five sacks and five pressures, while also blocking for an offense that produced more than 2,000 rushing yards.
