Stoughton senior Isaac Carvalho has been selected as the HockomockSports.com Player of the Week, presented by Morse Insurance, for Sept. 27 through Oct. 3. Carvalho is the fourth athlete chosen as Player of the Week for the 2026-27 school year.
Carvalho scored four goals and dished out an assist last week to help the Black Knights split a pair of high-scoring league games, staying with two points of league-leading Milford in the Kelley-Rex standings. Carvalho leads Stoughton, and is fifth in the Hock with seven points this season.
“Isaac is a senior captain who leads by example,” said Stoughton head coach Dan Rudolph. “He scored the game-winner against KP, and the team looks up to him for his work ethic, commitment, sportsmanship, and skill.”
On Monday, Carvalho gave Stoughton a lead at Milford, burying a free kick in the first half. The Black Knights led twice before the break, but the Hawks rallied to secure the win. Two days later, Carvalho recorded a hat trick in a wild win over King Philip. He got things started in the third minute with an Olimpico (scoring direct from a corner). After KP tied it, Carvalho responded just a minute later, ripping a 20-yard golazo into the top corner. The Warriors equalized again before halftime but Stoughton scored three straight to take a commanding 5-2 lead, including a Louis Zeng goal following Carvalho’s long ball over the top. KP put together a furious comeback to tie the match, but Carvalho stepped up with just four minutes to play to finally seal the win. He controlled a flick from Kaitano Rosario with his chest, cut back on a pair of defenders, and slotted a left-footed shot inside the far post.
