Taunton, 2 vs. Pittsfield, 1 – Final – Taunton took the lead with two runs in the first inning and that was enough for sophomore Kelsey White, who had a stellar pitching performance in the circle. Taunton loaded the bases on two infield errors and a hit batter, and Payton Ceglarski (2-for-3, two RBI) came through with a clutch line drive base hit to score Hanna Aldrich and Jaime Brown. Taunton had at least one base hit in every inning, but could not capitalize again on their scoring opportunities. White allowed one run on four hits and one walk while striking out two in a complete game effort. Taunton coach Dave Lewry noted the strong defensive play of Brown, Aldrich, White, and McKenzie McAloon.
Boys Volleyball
Milford, 3 @ Brockton, 1 – Final – Milford won the first two sets and then bounced back after losing a close third set to win fourth and the match (25-21, 29-27, 24-26, 25-17). Joao Boaventura was terrific for the second straight match, leading the way with 25 kills and 16 digs. Zach Browne added 12 kills, eight digs, and three aces for the Hawks.
