Division 1

#7 Methuen, 4 @ #2 King Philip, 3 – FinalA two-run home run and a two-out double resulted in a three-run sixth inning to lead Methuen to a win over King Philip. The Warriors trailed by a run after three and a half innings before pushing across a pair in the bottom of the fourth to take the lead. Back-to-back singles from Charlotte Raymond and Liv Petrillo, plus a walk to Mia Bennett loaded the bases and a fielder’s choice plus an error on a ground ball from Maddie Paschke brought home a pair of runs. A one-out, two-run blast put Methuen back ahead 3-2, and a walk and a double added what turned out to be the winning run for the visitors. KP, which totaled 10 hits on the day, got one back on an RBI single from Ava Kelley in the sixth, and had the tying run on second with one out in the seventh but couldn’t bring the run home.

#6 Central Catholic, 2 @ #3 Taunton, 6 – FinalTaunton exploded for three home runs in the fourth inning to take a win over Central Catholic and book a return trip to the state semifinals. Trailing 1-0 after the visitors took the lead with a run in the second, the Tigers rallied with four straight hits with two outs. First, Kaysie DeMoura blasted a solo shot to center and Ava Venturelli followed with a solo home run of her own to put the Tigers ahead 2-1. Hayley Krockta kept the inning going with a single and Brooke Aldrich doubled the hosts’ run production with a two-run blast to left to make it 4-1. Krockta added a one-out RBI in the bottom of the sixth to pad the lead. Liv Mendonca earned the win, allowing two unearned runs on five hits and no walks, striking out seven in 6.2 innings of work.

Girls Lacrosse
Division 3

#11 Hanover, 5 @ #6 Foxboro, 7 – FinalFoxboro trailed 2-0 midway through the first half but rallied to lead 4-3 at halftime and pulled out a defensive battle against Hanover to advance to the Div. 3 quarterfinal. Paige Curran led the Warriors with three goals and two assists, while Val Beigel and Mary Collins both scored twice. Grace Riley, Mya Waryas, and Cate Noone each recorded assists. Audrey Campbell made seven big saves and the Foxboro defense was excellent throughout to help the Warriors secure the win. Foxboro will face the winner of No. 3 Bromfield and No. 19 North Middlesex.
