1. Franklin23-2While Franklin didn’t have the same postseason success as a year ago, the Panthers still had a terrific season as a whole, winning 21 games. This senior class will certainly go down as one of the most successful in program history with two straight Super 8 appearances and one state championship.
2. Taunton21-7Taunton placed third in the Kelley-Rex, but the Tigers really had a terrific second half of the season that was overshadowed by Franklin and Mansfield’s Super 8 selections. Taunton went on to win its first ever state championship with a win over Shrewsbury on Saturday evening, going 17-4 after starting 4-4. Jack Moynihan was stellar throughout while the Tigers had a number of players (Nic Notarangelo, Logan Lawrence, Josh Lajoie, Evan Melo, Lucas Martins, the list goes on) that stepped up at times throughout the run to bring home the title.
3. Mansfield18-7The Hornets earned their second straight Super 8 appearance but finish third in the rankings for the second straight season after Franklin’s stellar season led to a top-seed and Taunton’s improbable playoff run resulted in a state title. Nonetheless, Joe Breen has turned the Hornets into a top-level team year-in and year-out and the bar is set high for years to come. The graduating class has a lot to be proud of for what they’ve accomplished in their careers.
4. Attleboro14-10After a tough stretch to end the season, first-year coach Steve Dunlea and the Bombardiers won three straight tournament games to advance to the program’s first sectional final since 1987 before bowing out to eventual state champion Taunton. The Bombardiers graduate a talented group that featured a handful of multi-year starters but there is a solid core coming back that will put Attleboro in position to compete in a loaded Kelley-Rex division again next year.
5. Stoughton14-9Not often a division champion takes fifth in the final rankings but the Kelley-Rex division was that loaded this year with two Super 8 selections and two teams reaching the South final. The Black Knights were a scrappy group this season and head coach Mike Armour guided them to their third Davenport crown in the last four years.

On the edge: Oliver Ames (12-13)
