1. Franklin19-3Franklin got back into the win column with a shutout over St. John's Shrewsbury to end the regular season. The Panthers had a little skid down the stretch but a little adversity now could go a long way in the coming weeks as they aim to get back to the state championship game.
2. Taunton16-4Taunton picked up some momentum heading into the playoffs, finishing the regular season on a five-game win streak, outscoring opponents 38-9 in that stretch. It looks like the Tigers have some of their arms back in the rotation, and that should give them a shot at defending their championship.
3. King Philip13-7KP showed what it's capable in flashes this season, and had some good wins, and even some solid performances in close losses. The Warriors are in contention for a top-four seed, and with home field advantage in the early rounds, they'll be looking to duplicate last year's lengthy tournament run.
4. Mansfield14-8Mansfield enters the tournament with a strong resume, including a share of the Davenport division title. The Hornets have showed they can compete with some of the best teams in the state, and when they can put it all together, they will be a tough out in the coming weeks.
5. Foxboro9-6After clinching a share of the Davenport title, the Warriors should have at least a couple of home games in the Division 3 tournament. Foxboro had a memorable run in the playoffs a year ago, and the Warriors are a battle tested group looking to replicate that success this time around.

On the edge: Milford (12-8)
