Softball Hock 5 Rankings

Softball Hock 5

1. Taunton22-3The Tigers had their title defense ended in the D1 South semifinal against Bishop Feehan, but Taunton will bring back a strong core, led by sophomores Kelsey White and Hanna Aldrich, to try and make a run next year. The Tigers outscored opponents 233-29 this spring.
2. Franklin16-7Franklin was one game shy of earning a share of the Kelley-Rex division title, which would've been its first league crown since 2006, and the Panthers added a playoff win to a strong overall campaign. The playoff run ended with a one-run loss to Feehan, but it was a season to build on for Franklin.
3. North Attleboro16-6The Rocketeers won their first league title since 1990 and reached the D1 South quarterfinal where they took top seed and eventual South champ B-R to extra innings in a one-run loss. With juniors Bella Erti and Ashley Cangiano leading the way, North has the potential to make a run next season.
4. King Philip13-9King Philip walked off with a win in its playoff opener against New Bedford but lost to Taunton for the third time this year to get knocked out in the quarterfinal. The Warriors will certainly miss shortstop Meg Gorman next year, but expect KP to be back in the title mix next season.
5. Stoughton15-7The Black Knights pulled out a walk-off victory against Somerset-Berkeley in the opening round and nearly knocked off Walpole on the road in the quarterfinal. The emergence of sophomore pitcher Nicole Baker and a young corps has Stoughton aiming even higher next season.

On the edge: Attleboro (11-11)
