Girls Basketball
Canton, 46 @ Notre Dame Academy, 51 – Final – Mercia Kolokithas knocked down five threes and scored a career-high 17 points, but it wasn’t enough for the Bulldogs in a tough road loss against a fellow Div. 2 playoff contender. After a slow start offensively, Canton scored 20 points in the second quarter, including a pair of threes from Kolokithas, to take a 25-20 lead at halftime. Fatima Sidibay added six of her 10 points in the quarter to help Canton jump in front. NDA came back in the third, holding Canton to just five points and taking a six-point lead into the fourth. Kolokithas buried a trio of threes in the fourth and Emily McCabe knocked down one, as Canton scored 16 points in the final quarter, but the Bulldogs weren’t able to get the stops they needed to complete the comeback.
