Girls Basketball
Canton, 55 vs. West Bridgewater, 36 – FinalCanton used a 20-point third quarter to surge away from West Bridgewater and sweep the season series. After allowing only 15 points in the first meeting, the Bulldogs gave up nearly as many in the first quarter on Thursday, heading to the bench down 13-11 after one. Canton held WB to just seven points in the second and Fatima Sidibay and Mercia Kolokithas combined for 11 of Canton’s 12 to put the hosts in front at halftime. In the third, Deanna Kolokithas scored nine and Mercia added six more, while the defense held West Bridgewater to just six points, opening up a 17-point advantage. Deanna Kolokithas scored a career-high 17 points, with 14 coming in the second half. Mercia Kolokithas knocked down a pair of threes in both the second and third quarters and finished with 13. Sidibay scored 14, 11 in the first half, and Alyssa Wong and Megan Beatty each knocked threes.
