Attleboro senior Ella Lynch-Bartek has been selected as the HockomockSports.com Player of the Week, presented by Morse Insurance, for May 9 through May 15. Lynch-Bartek is the 30th player chosen as Player of the Week for the 2021-22 school year and the sixth of the spring season.
Lynch-Bartek kept up her strong senior season on the court by helping the Bombardiers win three matches last week, including a win over league-leading Franklin. With its win streak, which extended to five matches on Monday, Attleboro has booked a place in the state tournament.
“Ella has been playing some dominating tennis this season,” said Attleboro head coach Bill Reilly. “She’s winning in straight sets and really showing why she’s one of the top first singles players in the Hock. Ella’s had a fantastic run as our first singles player since her freshman year and we wish her the best at Holy Cross”
After a loss at No. 1 singles against Canton the week before (in a match that Attleboro won 3-2), Lynch-Bartek bounced back with three straight wins, giving the Bombardiers points at first singles against Franklin, Mansfield, and Milford. On Monday, Attleboro split the season series with Franklin, picking up a 4-1 team win and Lynch-Bartek added a point. The following day, she added a 6-0, 6-2 victory as Attleboro won 4-1 against the Hornets. In her third match in three days, Lynch-Bartek dropped only one game in a win against Milford that clinched a postseason berth.
