Baseball
Canton, 12 @ Cardinal Spellman, 5 – FinalTrailing by 5-2 after four innings, Canton plated three runs in the fifth inning to tie it and then exploded for seven runs in the sixth to pull away for a win on the road in Brockton. Jack Digirolamo and Matt Hart each had an RBI double, and Nick Gillis followed with an RBI single to center in the top of the fifth inning to bring the Bulldogs level at 5-5. The Bulldogs (17 hits overall) had a hit parade in the top of the seventh: Matt Chafin drove in a run with a single to center, Digirolamo brought a run home with a single to left, Hayden Rose smacked an RBI double to left, Gillis added an RBI double, Sean Sullivan and Matt Quan had back-to-back RBI singles to center, and Matt Lesser singled in Canton’s 12th run with a ground ball up the left side. Quan got the win in relief, tossing three innings with one run allowed on three hits and one walk, striking out four. Andy Butler added two scoreless innings out of the bullpen with two hits and four strikeouts.

Softball
Attleboro, 8 @ Natick, 3 – FinalAttleboro scored three runs in the fifth inning to break open a tie game and added key insurance runs in the final two innings to secure a win over Natick at the Maple Street Fields on the campus of Framingham State. Arianna Amaral had a big day for the Bombardiers with a pair of hits and three RBI while both Lily Routhier and Lauren Eby had two hits and two RBI apiece. Routhier (3IP, 1H, 2K) and Lindsey Perry (4IP, 6H, 2K) shared pitched duties for Attleboro.

North Attleboro, 3 @ Coventry (RI), 13 – Final

Oliver Ames, 0 vs. Abington, 3 – FinalOliver Ames junior Maddie Homer reached base three times but the Tigers were unable to push a run across in a shutout loss to Abington, who is ranked in the top 10 in D4 in the latest MIAA rankings. Katie Melendy, Paige Taylor, and Katherine Farley each had a hit for the Tigers while Melendy pitched a complete game, allowing just one earned run with four strikeouts.

Boys Lacrosse
Canton, 7 @ Hanover, 16 – Final

Girls Lacrosse
Franklin, 10 @ Bishop Guertin (NH), 12 – FinalFranklin went up to the Granite State and challenged one of the best teams in the region but fell just short against powerhouse Bishop Guertin. Kate O’Rourke (for draw controls) and Kaitlyn Carney (seven draw controls) each had four goals while Jackie O’Neil added one goal and one assist. Brigid Earley made 10 saves in net for the Panthers.
