Foxboro, 65 vs. Hingham, 57 – FinalFoxboro cut into a seven point deficit at the end of the first quarter and turned a three point Hingham lead at halftime around to earn the win in the consolation game of the Westwood Holiday Tournament. The Warriors won the fourth quarter 16-9. Junior Joe Morrison scored a career-high 19 points and was named to the all-tournament team. Jamaine Few chipped in with 13 points while junior Matt Rongione added a career-high 12 points.

Mansfield, 75 vs. Everglades (FL), 56 – Final

North Attleboro, 51 @ Bishop Feehan, 56 – FinalTrailing by 12 with four minutes to play, the Rocketeers cut into the Shamrocks’ lead to get within four in the final minute but couldn’t complete the comeback. Brent Doherty scored 10 of his team-high 12 points in the second half while Thomas Reynolds and Jonny Friberg each had 11 points.

Franklin, 76 vs. East Boston, 35 – FinalJunior Paul Mahon scored a team-high 17 points as the Panthers cruised in their final game of the calendar year. James Hanlon added 11 points while sophomore Jalen Samuels recorded 10 points.

Girls Basketball
Attleboro, 63 vs. Brockton, 55 – Final Sarah Deyo scored 22 points and pulled down 23 rebounds for the Bombardiers, who took control in the third quarter after trailing by two at the half. Julia Strachan added 18 and Sam Pierce had 14 for Attleboro.

North Attleboro, 46 @ Hingham, 34 – FinalNorth Attleboro claimed its second straight impressive win, knocking off host Hingham in the final of the Hingham Holiday Tournament. The Rocketeers have won three straight games against MIAA D2 South Semifinalists from a year ago – Oliver Ames, Westwood and Hingham. Ashley Ahern scored 14 points and was named the tournament MVP. Samantha Taggart dropped a season-high 17 points to lead Big Red and was named to the all-tournament team along with Caroline Collard.

Sharon, 50 @ North Quincy, 54 – FinalSophomore Emma Eberhardt paced Sharon with 18 points while junior Shira Stoller hauled in a team-high 11 rebounds.

Hockey
Franklin, 5 vs. La Salle Academy 1 – Final

Oliver Ames, 0 @ Westwood, 5- Final

Taunton, 12 vs. Apponequet/Connolly, 1 – FinalJordan Hoey and Zack Albert each recorded five points as the Tigers ended 2016 on a high note. Hoey had a hat trick and two assists while Albert scored once and had four helpers. Nick Terry scored once and had three assists, Cam Welby scored twice and Cam Carnes and Jaden Weyant each had a goal and an assist. Josh Denham, Cam Sneyd and Owen Ross each scored once in the win.

Wrestling
BC High Team Duals (Oliver Ames) – Oliver Ames went a perfect 4-0 to at the BC High New Years Duals. The Tigers beat Silver Lake (58-15), New Bedford (72-12), Josiah Quincy (54-13) and Chicopee Comp (48-27). Liston Funai (132) and Eric Berardi (152) both went a perfect 4-0 on the day with four pins apiece. Brandon Belleton (138) also went 4-0, Cobey Williamson (120) went 3-0 with three opins and sophomore Anthony Berksza (145) was 3-0 with a pair of pins.

Boys Basketball
Franklin, 69 vs. Danvers 29 – FinalFranklin turned a four point lead at the end of the first quarter (11-7) into a big advantage (35-16) at halftime. By the end of the third quarter, the Panthers were up 59-26. Paul Mahon led Franklin with 20 points, Matt Elias added 12 points and Jalen Samuels had nine points.

Mansfield, 81 @ Key West (FL), 49 – FinalThe Hornets made a splash in their first game in Florida, putting up 50 points in the first half on their way to a big win. Sam Goldberg scored 13 of his game-high 19 points in the opening quarter to pace Mansfield. John McCoy added 11 points and Kristian Conner scored 10 points in the win. Twelve different players scored in Mansfield’s win.

North Attleboro, 66 vs. Fitchburg, 51 – FinalSenior Jonny Friberg had another dominating performance as North Attleboro claimed the Lincoln Sudbury Warrior Winter Slam title. Friberg earned tournament MVP honors after scoring 20 points and hauling in 11 rebounds. He averaged 17 points and 14.5 rebounds in the two games. Chad Peterson, who was named to the all-tournament team, scored 18 points and had six rebounds. Senior Brent Doherty also had 18 points and six rebounds.

Sharon, 47 vs. Tewksbury, 58 – FinalRicardo Ripley led the Eagles with 16 points while Malik Lorquet notched his first double-double of the season with 12 points and 14 rebounds. Both Ripley and Lorquet were named to the Wilimington all-tournament team.

Stoughton, 67 vs. Boston Latin Academy, 70 – FinalStoughton junior Cam Andrews tied a career-high with 24 points as the Black Knights fell just short to BLA. Cam Gomes added 16 points for the Black Knights.

Girls Basketball
Attleboro, 68 @ Cranston East, 51 – FinalAttleboro wins the Cranston East Holiday Tournament title.

King Philip, 65 vs. Tiverton, 24 – FinalShannon O’Connor and Sophia McLaughlin, who hit four threes, each scored a team-high 13 points for the Warriors. Julia Leroux added 12 points to help pace the offense. “We shot the ball very well tonight,” KP head coach Marty Crowley said. Warriors advance to face Ponaganset in the tournament final at 6:45 on Thursday night.

Mansfield, 40 @ Duxbury, 36 – FinalMansfield built a double-digit lead, up 33-21, through three quarters and held on in the fourth quarter to win the Duxbury Holiday Tournament final. Jen Peel and Ann Maher each had a team-high 14 points for the Hornets.

North Attleboro, 54 vs. Westwood, 46 – FinalAshley Ahern led the Rocketeers with 17 points. North Attleboro will play host Hingham in the final of the holiday tournament on Friday at 7:30.

Sharon, 52 vs. Holliston, 47 – FinalSophomore Emma Eberhardt paced Sharon with a team-high 19 points while junior Shira Stoller chipped in with 14 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks as the Eagles picked up their third win.

Stoughton, 53 vs. Wellesley, 70 – Final Freshman Shyanne Trinh scored a team-high 20 points for the Black Knights while junior Val Whalen chipped in with 16 points and six blocks.

Hockey
Attleboro, 5 vs. Bellingham, 3 – Final

Canton, 2 vs. Coyle & Cassidy 1 – Final (OT)Jackson Maffeo opened the scoring for the Bulldogs in the second period but Coyle answered back with only seconds left in the period. The game went to overtime where Bubba McNeice scored two minutes in to seal the victory for Canton in the Gormley Cup at Gallo Arena. The game counts as a 1-1 tie in the overall record.

Foxboro, 4 vs. Norton, 5 – Final

Franklin, 3 @ Mount St. Charles, 5 – Final

Mansfield, 1 vs. Norwood, 2 – FinalMatt Farragher scored a power play goal in the second period to tie the game but Norwood scored an early third period goal to get the win.

North Attleboro, 3 vs. North Smithfield 1 – FinalNorth Attleboro jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period on its way to a win over North Smithfield. Junior Drew Wissler opened the scoring and senior Zach McGowan made it 2-0. North Smithfield cut into the lead late in the first period but Jason McNeany put Big Red ahead 3-1 on an assist from Will Yeomans in the second period.

Taunton, 1 @ Stoughton, 1 – FinalStoughton took a 1-0 lead into the third period off a goal from Sean Doherty but Taunton’s Cam Carnes scored the equalizer in the final period.

Wrestling
Lowell Holiday Tournament (Canton, Foxboro, Franklin, Stoughton) – Foxboro’s Matt Kelley had the best finish in the tournament, coming in third at 132. Foxboro’s Brian Kelley (138) was fifth and Matt Mullally (160) was eighth overall. The Warriors finished in 12th overall as a team with 111.5 points. Franklin’s Jordan Carlucci (106) finished fifth and TJ Remillard (126) came in sixth as the Panthers finished 17th with 94.5 points. Canton was 34th with 53 points and Stoughton was 61st with 27 points.

Marshfield Tournament (Mansfield, North Attleboro, Oliver Ames, Sharon) – North Attleboro had a pair of winners en route to a fifth place finish as a team with 162.5 points. Nick Gould picked up a 6-3 win in the 152 final and Brad White earned a pin in the second period to win at 220. The Rocketeers also got placements from Brady Folan (106), who finished third, Mattuez Kudra (195) and John Kummer (285) each in seventh and Zach Gould (138) in eighth. Mansfield was 14th overall with five wrestlers coming in the top eight. Antonios Sevastos (106) came in second, Vinnie Holmes (170) came in fourth, George Glaropoulos (152) came in fifth and Will Stratton (126) and Jayden Curley (160) each came in seventh. Oliver Ames was 19th with 69 points, led by a second place finish by Liston Funai (132). Eric Berardi (152) and Billy Tat (170) each came in eighth. Sharon’s Yosef Ellis-Rech was fourth in the 126 bracket.

Sharon, 40 @ Attleboro, 59 – FinalSharon raced out to an 18-9 lead after the first quarter, but the Bombardiers climbed back for with a big second quarter to come within two at halftime. The Bombardiers held Sharon to just 12 points in the second half to earn their fourth win of the season. Jake Dunkley led Attleboro with 15 points. Ricardo Ripley scored a career-high 21 points for the Eagles.

Foxboro, 55 @ Franklin, 67 – FinalFranklin turned a seven point lead (27-20) at the halftime break into a double-digit advantage (50-37) by the end of third quarter. Franklin’s Connor Peterson led all scorers with 19 points while Josh Macchi added 14 points and Paul Mahon chipped in with 12 points for the Panthers. Foxboro’s Andrew Block had a team-high 14 points while Mark Clagg scored 12 points, Joe Morrison had 10 points and Joe Bartucca finished with eight points.

Stoughton, 40 @ Mansfield, 71 – Final Mansfield used a dominate second quarter to stretch a two possession game into a comfortable lead by halftime. The Hornets outscored the Black Knights 21-4 in the second quarter and held a 37-14 lead at the break. Tyler Boulter and Sam Goldberg (six rebounds) each had 13 points while Phil Vigeant added 11 points, with a team-high three three-point field goals. Stoughton senior Izon Swain-Price netted a team-high 11 points.

Milford, 56 @ Taunton, 71 – FinalTaunton freshman Dante Law tied a career-high with 18 points to lead the way for the Tigers. Lou Vendrell scored a season-high 15 points while senior Tommy MacLean finished with 13 points. Milford senior Zack Tamagni led the Scarlet Hawks with 18 points while junior Kayden Kelley had 11 points and 11 rebounds for his second double-double of the season.

North Attleboro, 40 @ Oliver Ames, 59 – FinalOliver Ames raced out to a 18-9 lead after the first quarter and used that lead as a launching point the rest of the way. The Rocketeers got it within nine at the end of the third quarter (40-31) but Oliver Ames finished the game by winning the fourth quarter 19-9. Carter Evin and Jack Spillane each had 16 points for the Tigers while Dylan Mahoney added 14 points. Brent Doherty led Big Red with 14 points while Jonny Friberg added 11 points.

King Philip, 46 @ Canton, 23 – FinalShannon O’Connor led the way for the Warriors with 15 points. Christina Hathaway added eight points for KP in what head coach Martin Crowley called, a “great team win.” Casey Shea was top scorer for the Bulldogs with 10 points.

Franklin, 31 @ Foxboro, 52- FinalAshley Sampson reached the 20-point mark for the second game in a row, leading the Warriors with 22. Lily Sykes chipped in with 17 for the Warriors.

Mansfield, 54 @ Stoughton, 33 – FinalThe Hornets outscored Stoughton 19-5 in the fourth quarter to break open a close game and pull out the win. Meg Hill led the way for Mansfield with 16 points, 12 rebounds, and nine blocks. Jen Peel added 14 points, five assists and three steals for the Hornets. Stoughton freshman Shyanne Trinh had a team-high 16 points for the Black Knights while Val Whalen had nine points and eight rebounds.

Taunton, 39 @ Milford, 52 – FinalKate Irwin paced the Hawks with 22 points and Jill Burley added 15 in the win. Milford trailed 32-25 at halftime but took control with an 18-2 run in the third quarter and allowed only seven points in the second half.

Oliver Ames, 45 @ North Attleboro, 46 – Final The Rocketeers avenged a one-point loss in last year’s playoffs by edging the Tigers in a game that had “playoff-like atmosphere.” Ashley Ahern was top scorer for North with 15 points and Kayla Raymond led OA with 21.

Gymnastics
Attleboro, 136.6 @ Franklin, 126 – FinalAttleboro’s Emma Humphrey (36.7) scored a 9.4 on bars, a 9.4 on floor, 9.0 on the vault and 8.9 on beam to lead the Bombardiers to the win. Franklin sophomore Mia Lizotte was not far behind at 36.3, scoring 9.2 on floor, vault and beam and 8.7 on bars.

Canton, 55 @ Attleboro, 64 – FinalIn a back and forth close matchup, Jake Dunkley and Attleboro pulled away in the fourth quarter. Dunkley finished with 20 points while classmate Berlyns Abraham had 15 points and 10 rebounds. Nate Douglas added 12 points for the Bombardiers. Canton sophomore Devin Foster had a career-high 21 points while Tony Harris added 12 points and five rebounds and Jake Verille added eight points and three rebounds.

Foxboro, 36 @ Mansfield, 66 – FinalMansfield limited Foxboro to just 14 second half points, turning a two point lead at the end of the first quarter into a 15-point lead at halftime and a 27 point lead at the end of three. John McCoy, Max Boen and Sam Goldberg (six rebounds) each scored 11 points apiece to lead the Hornets. Andrew Block had 11 points and seven rebounds for Foxboro.

Milford, 60 @ King Philip, 50 – FinalBetween the end of the first quarter and beginning of the second quarter, Milford rattled off a 19-2 run that created a cushion they held for the rest of the way. With KP up 10-2, the Scarlet Hawks flipped the game with the run. Senior Anthony Arcudi netted a game-high 17 points, Shane Cosquete added 10 points, both Zach Tamagni and Nate Davila scored nine points and junior Kayden Kelley hauled in 15 rebounds to go with four rebounds. Justin Vine and Tom Madden each scored 12 points apiece while Pharaoh Davis came off the bench to score 10 points for the Warriors.

Stoughton, 47 @ Oliver Ames, 55 – Final – After being tied after the opening quarter, Oliver Ames opened a three point lead by halftime, a four point lead after three quarters and then held that lead in the fourth quarter. Three Tigers scored in double digits, led by Dylan Mahoney’s 21 points. Junior Jack Spillane added a career-best 16 points and Carter Evin chipped in with 10 points. Stoughton senior Cam Gomes dropped a career-high 19 points to go with seven rebounds.

Sharon, 51 @ Taunton, 65 – FinalSharon was able to hang around through three quarters but Taunton pulled ahead in the final quarter. Freshman Dante Law scored a career-high 18 points to pace the Tigers with senior Tommy MacLean adding 13 points. Jimmy Fitzhenry led Sharon with 16 points while senior Ricardo Ripley chipped in with 12 points.

Franklin, 36 @ North Attleboro, 43 – FinalThe Rocketeers outscored Franklin 19-12 in the fourth quarter to pull out the win in their season opener. Ashley Ahern led the way for North with 15 points, including eight in the fourth, and sophomore Julia Feid had 10 for the Rocketeers. Franklin was led by freshman Ali Brigham who scored 18 points in her second varsity game.

King Philip, 47 @ Milford, 44 – FinalThe Warriors rallied from seven points down in the fourth quarter to pull out the win in their season opener. Sophomore Shannon O’Connor was the top scorer for KP with 12 points and freshman Faith Roy chipped in with nine. Junior Hadley Zolak had six points for KP, including important baskets down the stretch. Milford was led by Kate Irwin’s 17 points.

Oliver Ames, 51 @ Stoughton, 32 – FinalOA was led by three players with 11 points apiece – senior Niyera Mitchell, junior Kayla Raymond, and freshman Meg Holleran.

Taunton, 29 @ Sharon, 46 – FinalSharon jumped out to an early lead and never let up. Sophomore Emma Eberhardt was the top scorer for the Eagles with 18 points and added eight rebounds and six steals. Shira Stoller added six points, eight rebounds, and nine assists for Sharon.

Hockey
Mansfield, 3 @ Norwood, 3 – FinalChad Piotti scored a pair of goals, including the game-tying goal in the third period, to earn Mansfield a point in the opener. Joey Olsen added the other goal for the Hornets.

Girls Hockey

Friday’s Schedule & Scoreboard – 02/19/16

Boys Basketball
Milford, 48 @ Foxboro, 66 – Final – Foxboro senior Alex DuBrow scored all of his team-high 16 points in the second half, adding eight assists and five rebounds. Jason Procaccini had 15 points, eight rebounds and three assists, Rob Lowey had 15 points and nine rebounds and junior Mark Clagg finished with 10 points. Milford’s Dimitry Torres scored a game-high 18 points along with six assists. 

Franklin, 64 @ Catholic Memorial, 87 – Final – Senior Tim Prunier and freshman Jay Dieterle each had nine points for the Panthers.

Taunton, 84 @ King Philip, 60 – Final – Taunton senior Jose Mercado poured in a career-high 31 points while Tommy MacLean had 14 points and Dom Smith added 12 points. King Philip’s Pharoah Davis had a team-high 13 points. 
Girls Basketball
Attleboro, 48 vs. Dartmouth, 36 – Final – Emily Houle led the way for Attleboro with 17 points, all in the second half, which leaves her four points shy of 1,000 for her career. She also had 11 rebounds. Sam Pierce added 10 points and 11 rebounds for the Bombardiers, Fatima McDonald had eight points, and Sarah Deyo had only three points but chipped in with seven blocks and 10 boards.

Canton, 47 vs. Blackstone-Millville, 42 – FinalThe Bulldogs swept the season series with BMR behind 14 points from Hannah Jerrier and eight apiece from Jess Powers and Meaghan Hunter. Canton turned the game around with a 30-13 second half. 
King Philip, 38 @ Taunton, 37 – FinalJen Lacroix scored all 12 of her points in the second half to lead the Warriors, who bounced back from a 12-point halftime deficit. Sam Madden added eight points for KP and Riley Dalzell had 10 rebounds. Taunton was led by Alyssa Gibson, who finished with 13 points and 14 boards, and Lily Patneaude, who scored 11 points. 
Milford, 44 @ Foxboro, 61 – Final – The Warriors had three players reach double figures, led by Ashley Sampson’s 14 points. Cassidy Harrison added 11 points and Kristen Bortolotti had 10 points. 

North Attleboro, 47 vs. Durfee, 34 – FinalThe Rocketeers were led by junior Caroline Collard with 10 points and Ashley Ahern chipped in with six. 
Sharon, 43 @ Fontbonne, 58 – Final Senior Alyssa Piazza had 19 points, six rebounds, and five steals for the Eagles in the loss.

Taunton, 61 @ Attleboro, 64 – Final – A back and forth fourth quarter ended with a big three from Jake Dunkley and a key free throw as the Bombardiers scored their first win over Taunton since Valentine’s Day 2013. Dunkley finished with a game-high 20 points while Kyle Murphy, Andrew Milliken and Lucas Boucicaut each had 12 points. Carlos Borrero led Taunton with 17 points while Jose Mercado added 13 points. 

Sharon, 59 @ Canton, 50 – Final

Oliver Ames, 39 @ Foxboro, 47- Final – Jason Procaccini’s 15 points was a game-high as Foxboro grinded to a win to clinch at least a share of the Davenport division title. It marks the program’s first ever Davenport title and first league title since 2003. Charlie Ryan had 12 points for Oliver Ames. 

Mansfield, 55 @ Franklin, 51 – Final – Franklin rallied from a 15 point second half deficit to get within two in the final minutes but a big shot from Mansfield’s Matt Ehrlich and key stops sealed the win for the Hornets. Tyler Boulter had a team-high 12 points while Sam Goldberg had 11 points, seven rebounds and three assists. Matt Ehrlich (four rebounds, four assists) and Christian Weber each had nine points, Nick Baskin had six and Max Boen had five points and four assists. Franklin sophomore Connor Peterson scored 21 points and hauled in nine rebounds while freshman Jay Dieterle netted 18 points. 
King Philip, 38 @ North Attleboro, 49 – Final – Mario Bresko led the Rocketeers with 12 points.
Stoughton, 53 @ Milford, 59 – Final – Dimitry Torres once again led the way for the Scarlet Hawks, dropping in a game-high 21 points. Zack Tamagni added 13 points while Anthony Arcudi chipped in with 19 points. Dwight Anderson had nine points and 10 rebounds while Kayden Kelley added 10 rebounds. Stoughton sophomore Cam Andrews had a team-high 18 points. 
Girls Basketball
Canton, 43 @ Sharon, 67 – FinalCharlotte Ransom scored 19 points and six rebounds for Sharon. The Eagles also got a career-high 18 points from Emma Eberhardt and 16 points and five rebounds from Alyssa Piazza.
Foxboro, 40 @ Oliver Ames, 55 – FinalNiyera Mitchell came off the bench for OA to score 15 points and pull down 17 rebounds, both of which were game highs. Kayla Raymond added 11 points and 10 rebounds and Francesca Calabraro scored 11. Ashley Sampson was the top scorer for Foxboro with 15 points, including 10 in the fourth quarter, and Cassidy Harrison added 12.
Franklin, 38 @ Mansfield, 44 – FinalMeg Hill and Caroline Maher led the way for Mansfield with 12 points apiece. Lauren Rudolph was the top scorer for Franklin with eight points.
North Attleboro, 60 @ King Philip, 35 – FinalCaroline Collard and Ashley Ahern each scored 13 points for the Rocketeers. Riley Dalzell led the Warriors with 13 points.
Milford, 59 @ Stoughton, 41 – Final – Christine Pye was the top scorer for the Hawks with 14 points, while Jill Powers chipped in with 10.
Attleboro, 63 @ Taunton, 30 – FinalEmily Houle scored 31 points to lead the Bombardiers and is now only 21 points away from 1,000 for her career.
