Franklin, 42 @ Canton, 46 – FinalCanton held Franklin to its lowest scoring output of the season, limiting the Panthers to 30 points to three quarters. The Bulldogs trailed 30-26 heading into the final frame before winning the fourth 20-12. It marks Canton’s first win over Franklin in over a decade. “Beating a team like Franklin is a tall order,” Canton head coach Ryan Gordy said. “We needed to execute and play with mental toughness every possession. We grew up as a team tonight.” Canton junior Tony Harris scored a game-high 15 points and hauled in six rebounds while sophomore Devin Foster had 12 points and four rebounds.

Taunton, 73 @ Foxboro, 72 – Final (OT)Taunton freshman Dante Law connected on six three pointers on his way to a career-high 21 points to help the Tigers edge Foxboro in overtime. Senior Tommy MacLean added 15 points for Taunton, who improves to 10-4. Foxboro junior Joe Morrison dropped a career-high 23 points while Jamaine Few added 15 points and Mark Clagg finished with 13 points.

Mansfield, 67 @ Sharon, 52 – FinalMansfield junior Tyler Boulter broke a school record, connecting on 10 three pointers to net a career-high 30 points in the win over Sharon. Boulter, who scored 15 points in the first quarter, broke the record previously held by Brian Hershman (2011 vs. Stoughton) and David Borkowski (2009 vs. Franklin). Sam Goldberg added 10 points and eight rebounds while Ricardo Ripley led Sharon with 14 points.

Oliver Ames, 61 @ Milford, 56 – FinalOliver Ames erased an early five point deficit to take a 18-12 lead after one quarter and never looked back to pick up the win on the road. Milford cut the deficit to five at half (31-26) but Oliver Ames won the third quarter 16-10 to build a double-digit lead. OA’s Jack Spillane led all scorers with 21 points while Carter Evin added 18 points and Nick Welch finished with 14 points. Zack Tamagni led Milford with 18 points while sophomore Brendan White dropped a career-high 14 points.

Girls Basketball

Canton, 30 @ Franklin, 54 – FinalFranklin had three players reach double figures in a double-digit win over visiting Canton. Carli Koffinke led all scorers with a game-high 16 points while Ali Brigham and Bea Bondhus each chipped in with 10 points in the win. Canton sophomore Julia Hamilton scored a team-high 11 points for the Bulldogs.

Foxboro, 56 @ Taunton, 33 – FinalFoxboro junior Ashley Sampson led the way for the Warriors with a team-high 17 points while classmate Grace Tamulionis added 16 points in the win on the road.

Stoughton, 59 @ King Philip, 54 – Final (OT)Stoughton ramped up its defensive effort in overtime to pick up the win on the road. Stoughton junior Val Whalen had another monster night for the Black Knights, notching her fifth double-double of the season with 21 points and 21 rebounds. Freshman Shyanne Trinh added 14 points for the Knights. Sophomore Julia Leroux scored a team-high 20 points to pace King Philip.

Sharon, 18 @ Mansfield, 65 – FinalFor the second straight game, the Hornets held their opponent to under 20 points to earn a win at home. Offensively, the Hornets had a very efficient showing with junior Ann Maher going a perfect 8/8 from three point range in the first half – a school record – and junior Meg Hill scoring 14 points on 7/9 shooting.

Milford, 42 @ Oliver Ames, 58 – FinalOliver Ames built a double-digit lead (30-18) by halftime and held onto it throughout the second half. OA junior Kayla Raymond had a game-high 24 points and hauled in 12 rebounds while Niyera Mitchell had 13 points and 12 rebounds for the Tigers.

Hockey
Stoughton, 3 @ Bellingham, 9 – FinalStoughton’s Charlie Morgan and Ryan Buresh each scored their first varsity goal in the loss, while Brendan Campbell scored the other goal for the Black Knights.

Swimming
Boys
Foxboro, 65 @ Attleboro, 90 – FinalFoxboro took first in the 50 free and the 400 free relay but fell to Attleboro. Foxboro’s Dan Egan took first in the 50 free (25:31) while the team of Dimitri Davis, Anthony Quarterone, Ben Dorman and Thomas VanDell took first in the 400 free relay (5:12.30).

Girls
Foxboro, 72 @ Attleboro, 92 – FinalFoxboro had three first place finishes, including one relay team. Lexi Nelson was first in the 100 fly (1:06.47), Lindsey Nelson was first in the 100 breaststroke (1:05.09) and the team of Nelson, Nelson, Allison Curran and Jamie Gorham took first in the 200 medley (2:13.84).

Milford, 59 vs. Waltham, 46 – FinalMilford senior Zack Tamagni led the Scarlet Hawks with 18 points while classmate Nate Davila added 17 points in the win. Milford wins the second annual Scarlet Hawks Classic.

Oliver Ames, 56 vs. Cardinal Spellman, 74 – FinalOliver Ames was within five at halftime (36-31) but Spellman pulled away in the second half. Jack Spillane led OA with 15 points while Dylan Mahoney added 14 points and Carter Evin chipped in with 13 points.

Framingham Holiday Tournament (Milford) – Milford finished in 14th with 59 points at the Framingham Holiday Tournament. Brett Kimball (138) and Ryan Gray (195) each grabbed second place while Stan Demko (220) finished sixth.

Swimming
Boys
Foxboro, 64 @ Hopkinton, 88 – FinalFoxboro won a pair of relays and individual events but fell short to Hopkinton. Kevin Decker came in first in the 100 backstroke while Anthony Quarterone was second and Kristian Anderson touched the wall third. Johnmichael Boucher was first in the 100 breaststroke with James Donoghue coming in second and Andersen taking third. The 200 free relay team of Andersen, Jared Roke, Joshua Sitte and Anirudhha Gubbala finished first while the 400 free relay team of Boucher, Donoghue, Shawn McNamara and Dan Egan came in first.

Girls
Foxboro, 72 @ Hopkinton, 90 – FinalJamie Gorham and Lindsey Nelson each won three events but the Warriors came up short against Hopkinton. Gorham and Nelson, along with Allison Curran and Lexi Nelson came in first in the 200 medley relay and the 400 free relay. Gorham was also first in the 100 backstroke while Lindsey Nelson won the 100 breaststroke race.

Sharon, 40 @ Attleboro, 59 – FinalSharon raced out to an 18-9 lead after the first quarter, but the Bombardiers climbed back for with a big second quarter to come within two at halftime. The Bombardiers held Sharon to just 12 points in the second half to earn their fourth win of the season. Jake Dunkley led Attleboro with 15 points. Ricardo Ripley scored a career-high 21 points for the Eagles.

Foxboro, 55 @ Franklin, 67 – FinalFranklin turned a seven point lead (27-20) at the halftime break into a double-digit advantage (50-37) by the end of third quarter. Franklin’s Connor Peterson led all scorers with 19 points while Josh Macchi added 14 points and Paul Mahon chipped in with 12 points for the Panthers. Foxboro’s Andrew Block had a team-high 14 points while Mark Clagg scored 12 points, Joe Morrison had 10 points and Joe Bartucca finished with eight points.

Stoughton, 40 @ Mansfield, 71 – Final Mansfield used a dominate second quarter to stretch a two possession game into a comfortable lead by halftime. The Hornets outscored the Black Knights 21-4 in the second quarter and held a 37-14 lead at the break. Tyler Boulter and Sam Goldberg (six rebounds) each had 13 points while Phil Vigeant added 11 points, with a team-high three three-point field goals. Stoughton senior Izon Swain-Price netted a team-high 11 points.

Milford, 56 @ Taunton, 71 – FinalTaunton freshman Dante Law tied a career-high with 18 points to lead the way for the Tigers. Lou Vendrell scored a season-high 15 points while senior Tommy MacLean finished with 13 points. Milford senior Zack Tamagni led the Scarlet Hawks with 18 points while junior Kayden Kelley had 11 points and 11 rebounds for his second double-double of the season.

North Attleboro, 40 @ Oliver Ames, 59 – FinalOliver Ames raced out to a 18-9 lead after the first quarter and used that lead as a launching point the rest of the way. The Rocketeers got it within nine at the end of the third quarter (40-31) but Oliver Ames finished the game by winning the fourth quarter 19-9. Carter Evin and Jack Spillane each had 16 points for the Tigers while Dylan Mahoney added 14 points. Brent Doherty led Big Red with 14 points while Jonny Friberg added 11 points.

King Philip, 46 @ Canton, 23 – FinalShannon O’Connor led the way for the Warriors with 15 points. Christina Hathaway added eight points for KP in what head coach Martin Crowley called, a “great team win.” Casey Shea was top scorer for the Bulldogs with 10 points.

Franklin, 31 @ Foxboro, 52- FinalAshley Sampson reached the 20-point mark for the second game in a row, leading the Warriors with 22. Lily Sykes chipped in with 17 for the Warriors.

Mansfield, 54 @ Stoughton, 33 – FinalThe Hornets outscored Stoughton 19-5 in the fourth quarter to break open a close game and pull out the win. Meg Hill led the way for Mansfield with 16 points, 12 rebounds, and nine blocks. Jen Peel added 14 points, five assists and three steals for the Hornets. Stoughton freshman Shyanne Trinh had a team-high 16 points for the Black Knights while Val Whalen had nine points and eight rebounds.

Taunton, 39 @ Milford, 52 – FinalKate Irwin paced the Hawks with 22 points and Jill Burley added 15 in the win. Milford trailed 32-25 at halftime but took control with an 18-2 run in the third quarter and allowed only seven points in the second half.

Oliver Ames, 45 @ North Attleboro, 46 – Final The Rocketeers avenged a one-point loss in last year’s playoffs by edging the Tigers in a game that had “playoff-like atmosphere.” Ashley Ahern was top scorer for North with 15 points and Kayla Raymond led OA with 21.

Gymnastics
Attleboro, 136.6 @ Franklin, 126 – FinalAttleboro’s Emma Humphrey (36.7) scored a 9.4 on bars, a 9.4 on floor, 9.0 on the vault and 8.9 on beam to lead the Bombardiers to the win. Franklin sophomore Mia Lizotte was not far behind at 36.3, scoring 9.2 on floor, vault and beam and 8.7 on bars.

Canton, 55 @ Attleboro, 64 – FinalIn a back and forth close matchup, Jake Dunkley and Attleboro pulled away in the fourth quarter. Dunkley finished with 20 points while classmate Berlyns Abraham had 15 points and 10 rebounds. Nate Douglas added 12 points for the Bombardiers. Canton sophomore Devin Foster had a career-high 21 points while Tony Harris added 12 points and five rebounds and Jake Verille added eight points and three rebounds.

Foxboro, 36 @ Mansfield, 66 – FinalMansfield limited Foxboro to just 14 second half points, turning a two point lead at the end of the first quarter into a 15-point lead at halftime and a 27 point lead at the end of three. John McCoy, Max Boen and Sam Goldberg (six rebounds) each scored 11 points apiece to lead the Hornets. Andrew Block had 11 points and seven rebounds for Foxboro.

Milford, 60 @ King Philip, 50 – FinalBetween the end of the first quarter and beginning of the second quarter, Milford rattled off a 19-2 run that created a cushion they held for the rest of the way. With KP up 10-2, the Scarlet Hawks flipped the game with the run. Senior Anthony Arcudi netted a game-high 17 points, Shane Cosquete added 10 points, both Zach Tamagni and Nate Davila scored nine points and junior Kayden Kelley hauled in 15 rebounds to go with four rebounds. Justin Vine and Tom Madden each scored 12 points apiece while Pharaoh Davis came off the bench to score 10 points for the Warriors.

Stoughton, 47 @ Oliver Ames, 55 – Final – After being tied after the opening quarter, Oliver Ames opened a three point lead by halftime, a four point lead after three quarters and then held that lead in the fourth quarter. Three Tigers scored in double digits, led by Dylan Mahoney’s 21 points. Junior Jack Spillane added a career-best 16 points and Carter Evin chipped in with 10 points. Stoughton senior Cam Gomes dropped a career-high 19 points to go with seven rebounds.

Sharon, 51 @ Taunton, 65 – FinalSharon was able to hang around through three quarters but Taunton pulled ahead in the final quarter. Freshman Dante Law scored a career-high 18 points to pace the Tigers with senior Tommy MacLean adding 13 points. Jimmy Fitzhenry led Sharon with 16 points while senior Ricardo Ripley chipped in with 12 points.

Franklin, 36 @ North Attleboro, 43 – FinalThe Rocketeers outscored Franklin 19-12 in the fourth quarter to pull out the win in their season opener. Ashley Ahern led the way for North with 15 points, including eight in the fourth, and sophomore Julia Feid had 10 for the Rocketeers. Franklin was led by freshman Ali Brigham who scored 18 points in her second varsity game.

King Philip, 47 @ Milford, 44 – FinalThe Warriors rallied from seven points down in the fourth quarter to pull out the win in their season opener. Sophomore Shannon O’Connor was the top scorer for KP with 12 points and freshman Faith Roy chipped in with nine. Junior Hadley Zolak had six points for KP, including important baskets down the stretch. Milford was led by Kate Irwin’s 17 points.

Oliver Ames, 51 @ Stoughton, 32 – FinalOA was led by three players with 11 points apiece – senior Niyera Mitchell, junior Kayla Raymond, and freshman Meg Holleran.

Taunton, 29 @ Sharon, 46 – FinalSharon jumped out to an early lead and never let up. Sophomore Emma Eberhardt was the top scorer for the Eagles with 18 points and added eight rebounds and six steals. Shira Stoller added six points, eight rebounds, and nine assists for Sharon.

Hockey
Mansfield, 3 @ Norwood, 3 – FinalChad Piotti scored a pair of goals, including the game-tying goal in the third period, to earn Mansfield a point in the opener. Joey Olsen added the other goal for the Hornets.
